Most that I've gone to in the last 10 years (tho all before that just had instant, like Siiri's) have proper coffee machines, but they _still_ don't offer flavoured syrups. So even then, they would have told her to pick a lane.
“In Colorado, they treat people much better” ma’am, not with that attitude they don’t. Besides, having been raised in CO and now working in MO, Midwest hospitality is absolutely a thing.
Hospitality also involves being a good guest. The rude lady in the video was definitely not a good representative for CO. I very much think she is not the norm though. 😂
the fact that she thought the salon had a literal starbucks in the back 💀 like babe, no, most salons dont even do drinks, let alone coffee, be greatful 😭😭
Right most hair salons I’ve been to haven’t had any drinks. I think there was one I wen to that had a mini fridge with mostly water and I think sometimes had some soda in it
I saw this happen at my last hair appointment. The stylist 2 chairs over offered her client a drink and the woman confidently requested a vanilla iced latte and couldn't wrap her head around that not being an option. Like, ma'am there is not a barista in the back room. 😳 IT'S A SALON! Just take the wine and enjoy a little day drinking, babe.
The full quote is "the customer is always right in matters of taste". It means that if the customers want to buy something ugly let them buy the ugly thing and keep the ugly thing in stock
A lot of places have interview questions that relate to problem people and if you answer it with "the customer is always right" you will move to the bottom of the list of applicants.
@@rebecky5ever, I think it’s been attributed to Harry Selfridge who founded Selfridge’s Department Store in London, but Selfridge got his start working for Marshall Field in Chicago. Marshall Field probably got it from his former partner Potter Palmer who was largely responsible for the rebuilt Chicago Lake Shore Dr. district after the Chicago Fire.
“Because you don’t have what’s required for my drink order.” Do these people even hear themselves? She’s not there to order coffee. It was offered to her as a hospitality gift. It’s not an order. This goes way beyond common sense. Some people just don’t understand common curtesy. I guess that’s not common anymore either.
God, she sounds like a nightmare, she reminds me one of those girls in middle school and high school who like doing psychological warfare to the people they bully.

The phrase "the customer (or guest, etc.) is ALWAYS misquoted and misused. The actual phrase is "the customer is always right IN MATTERS OF TASTE". It makes much more sense that way, as well. It's like "money is the root of all evil". It's supposed to be "LOVE OF money is the root of all evil". We all use money and we are not all evil because of it. Being greedy and miserly IS evil because it hurts those in need.
Another fun one is, "blood is thicker then water." The full quote is, "the blood of the covenant is thicker then the water of the womb." Meaning the blood spilled in battle between brothers in arms makes them closer then birth family. It is literally the opposite meaning then what people make it to be.
Right! Selfridge just meant let the customer buy the unflattering outfit, if that's what they want. He didn't mean give them free stuff, let them insult you, you are the customer's slave.
@Hollyberrystreats Exactly! This "the customer is always entitled to take the whole store if they complain loud enough" attitude is ruining modern business. I mean, accept the blame if it's your fault, but if it's not, have the guest escorted out, by the police of necessary. I don't understand why they all wait until the karen calls the police. The employees just have to be trained about when to ignore and when to escalate, that's all.
Holy Moly people are just so entitled! One time while getting my hair done at the school I had a hot flash. Three students offered to buy me a cold drink from the machine. I repaid them after (no cash) with tips specified on my slip. The instructors know me so I wasn’t overly surprised. Usually I try to arrive early enough to ask what my student needs extra practice doing so I ask for it. They all know I will not cop an attitude if it’s messed up. My hair grows fast so it’s really no big deal.
Very well handled by Siiri. What I think so many people do not understand is hospitality and courtesy goes both ways. If you treat people disrespectfully then that makes you a rude and inconsiderate person. Service workers/professionals aren't anyone's servants, and if you decide to engage someone's services it doesn't make you better than them. If treating others poorly makes you feel better then you need to get help from a counsellor to work on some your self esteem issues. FYI Adult temper tantrums are never a good look.
The fact that people use the saying "the customer is always right" as an argument cracks me up especially since the whole saying is "the customer's always right in matters of taste" meaning what you like for aesthetics or whatever... yeah the customer is right, but outside of that no the customer is not always right and I wish more people knew that

She wouldn't get her way in Colorado either. In fact, you spent a lot more time being nice about a stubborn client before firing her than some of the stylists in Colorado would due to how many new people move in constantly.

One salon, like in the video, was next door to a coffee shop and café and people could just take a quick walk over there, get what they wanted, and come back. If a stylist told me that she was going to go somewhere and get something to eat or drink and bring it back while I was processing and asked if I if I wanted anything? I would tell her/him yes or no, and get my wallet to pay them. They usually told me to put my money away, but I snuck in back in because I added it to their tip because most of the girls who did my hair were single parents and were having problems with their children's father. I know that this is a video, but the way she kept saying " this neighborhood," I'm surprised that Siri didn't say that she had no problems being in " that neighborhood " when she thought things were going to go her way, but as soon as they didn't, she had problems with " this neighborhood.
