- You can really see in this video why many hot rodders love these roots blown engines. Magnificent noise is the sound The motor wants to leave the car behind! Check out this Dyno of this NRE SBC. More info and hundreds of videos for your computer or IPOD at nelsonracingeng.... Awesome! Also go to VeritasMovieStu....
There's something therapeutic about that idle surge. It relaxes me, but also makes me want to do deranged burnouts!
Roger that. Let’s me know I’m still human. I could listen to this whip crack all day.
Amen.
Tommy will be 75 yrs old and still like a child in the dyno cell with his hand on the go fast lever ...
That blower is a work of art. Its like a giant middle finger sticking through the hood .
How it is to want...haha. Id drive this everywhere if I had the opp.
It would be sweet to be involved in this kind of lifestyle.
If anyone has the opportunity enjoy it, do so while you can.
No matter how bad I hurt these days just knowing I can hear that sweet sound when I get there would drsg me out of bed.
My friend hope you are well, am dealing with alot of health stuff and constant pain, got a shop full of this stuff and can't stand up or walk, Yes! Enjoy if you can!
That’s bad ass. Sounds like a beast I have a 427 with twin promod 85s 12/1 compression on m1 it runs pretty good. I Had tkm build it for me before covid it’s just a cast aluminum block but I had it filled I sourced the crank from Brynt the cam is a solid roller from Bullet with mgp alumnuim rods and Diamond custom pistons and the heads are profiler 18 degree heads mine made 2.190 horsepower on the dyno at 7800 rpm they said it could had revved higher and they could had got more out of it but that it was safe there it freaked me out I was only hoping for about 1800 to 2000 horsepower and it went beyond that I’ve had my car since high school built it thru the years cage rear end torque box’s and I’ve ran 440s with it at 1.71 mph I’m hoping to push it harder maybe this weekend but I’m rambling badass engine I love cool shut like this.
tom nelson is the man. I'll take a blown motor over turbos any day
So true
I did
Yeah I'd rather be blown too
@@davidpayne4315 lol
I can listen to that idle all day
Nice engine !!. I did a 350 SBC for a client a few years back stock bore and stroke. 7.0 - 1
.626 lift ultradyn roller 300 cfm intake 85% on exhaust and obout 10 over on the blower.
Made 732 hp @ 7200 562 tq @ 5600 I wanted a reasonable amount of tq with moderate HP for the street. Had the MTs street tires 16.5 or so at 16.5 psi to make the engine start to work !. Fun to make it black track !!
S Anderson of
That brutal throttle response, tho. Dang.
Love how it sounds at bouncing at idle ... wow !
Music to this old Racers ears! Use to run 327 chevies.. Nice. Man!
That blower surge idle is very therapeutic...
Beautiful build! Unfortunately, a NA big block would make it look silly. But if you love small blocks , this is Bitchin!!
man you gotta love that idle.
That kind of motor has just such a classic evil look to it! Love it!
I wonder what something like that costs?
that is one awesome sbc
That's is the sweets sound to hear all it needs now is a skin around it like a 72 camaro
good to watch this old stuff, crazy now a 4cyl makes that power.
That belt is just everywhere XD
I was hooked when I saw the 572 black impala video years ago. Your team makes some brutal motors. Well done Id love your shop to build me a Blown 540 BBC Brodix motor. well done
Love that idle...it is so obnoxious...lol...absolutely awesome.
I knew it was going to be a good one if it was a Nelson
Beautiful wen u get a good one like this i want one please i need one like this for my streetmachine
I love it that's the blower I won't to put on my small block 400 that would be awesome
dat throttle response
NRE has some very impressive stuff!
Thanks for the vid. If a fella wanted one of them... what would it set them back?
I like how everyone says "my NA SBC makes that much hp. Weak!" But does theirs do it on pump gas like this monster? And this is only at 9psi! That blower has the capacity to make a lot more boost than that with just a pulley change. And look at that torque curve!
There's something therapeutic about that idle.....
That what i call AMERICAN MUSCLE!!!!
I want one of those 434's with massive head work that makes nearly 800 horse w/o nitrous. And paint it all chevy orange so its a sleeper. Maybe thread the block in the back of the lifter gallery to hide a 250 shot so nobody knows.
That's a Bass Ass Small Block With a Big Block Crank Very Cool
Freakin scary awesome
Good job
I bet that thing is wicked af on a street car! I want
It sounds like it wants to eat your soul
I bet that scares kids and small animals I love it
It seems as though billet manufacturing is gonna be where it's at!
This is how to shut up those electric car enthusiasts for good !!
840 hp on pump gas with minimal boost, ramp up the boost and alcohol and the hp jumps to 1100 hp
That is literally a fucking monster
what fuel pump did you use for that motor ?
Valve float @ 7200, then 7000, and peak rpm keeps dropping the more times you run it at float.
what happened at 4.04 ? sounded like it was breaking up ?
Taz will be going mad max I think yeppers down under
I'd love to have one off these...I want a red eye 👁️ for lunch
Bit confused, at the 6 minute 15 or so pull, you can press pause at any point and see the rpm and power on the gauges, for example the most i saw was 739 bhp at 7143 rpm, then you show it as 800 bhp ? how does that work? cheers!
Love the engines but all that money and only a SBC @ 800 hp at the crank? Thats no accesories no drivetrain. Im basically paying for the name. Ive seen budget buids more efficient and thats my opinion. Either way great craftsmanship.
For the same bucks, you can always build more than you can buy.
aaron reynolds I agree my partner had a 419 cu. in small block with a factory 400 4 bolt main and 18 degree heads it made 705hp on the dyno. it ran 5.93 in the 1/8 mile
That's what I'm saying with the new ls heads and blocks it's not uncommon for guys in my neck of the woods to make 700-750 hp on pump gas
blackman8795 400 never came with a 4 bolt main
That's only with pump gas...
Trying to learn a bit here, I feel like this engine should make more power. Would a intercooler not help this setup? If nothing else it should love nitrous right?
Philip Robb no it would probably blow up most engines are either or you can have both but the engine has to built for it different cam different boost a lot of factors you can't just hit it with a 350 shot well you could but you would probably Grenade the motor
Is blower surge relatively new? I never noticed it until six or seven years ago. Thanks.
Not new
love that idle!
So u telling me I can convert my 350 to a 434 stroker ?
i think i went to heaven!
I've read that the tightness of the tensioner has to do with the loudness of the supercharger [whine], is this true?
It depends on if the teeth on the belt are square cut or round.
The Blower Shop makes that billet blower in case anyone wanted to know...
Concentrate on the appearance and sound that's what these engines are about. Forget the Graphs and computer screen. If you want power and efficency then you want Nissain Skyline twin turbo 1000hp it would eat this alive. These engines are about appearance and sound. Get it on the steet in a hot rod.
0:25 What's the sound track? (Other than the shiny engine.)
Found it - It's "Chilled City Nights" by "Simon Wolfe"
/watch?v=BD9X7vOYyqo
Some of you really thought that 1000rpm to 7000rpm revving at the first of the video was blower surge? At the end of the video between pulls I could hear some blower surge but the first part of the video is just nasty blown V-8 throttle response. Turbo engines just step aside cause you will NEVER sound this nasty ever...hahahaha
supercharged engines step aside, you will never be as fast as a turbo.
Oh I dont know about that. When the Top Fuel boys start running turbos and get ANY faster than they are now on super chargers then I'll agree with you.
I'm sure the 1,000 ci motors and pure nitromethane gives it it's power.
The NHRA Top Fuel Dragsters are the quickest cars on the planet in the quarter mile. They have a 500ci Maximum. Over 8500hp with a supercharged 500ci.
Damn I didn't know that, that's crazy. I want to say the reason for a supercharger it instant boost? It's the only pro I can see over a turbo.
Geezz. Nice motor. I got seasick and couldn't understand the narrator but thats OK.
This is probably why it took so long for v8 guys to go twin turbo. It's so freaking angry! No twin turbo engine sounds that good. !
If it's EFI will it be easier to stop the annoying surge idle?
I know you build what the customer wants, but for the cost of a spread rail, raised cam , BBC crank you should have talked him into a BBC.....(you don't have to reply to that comment ;-)
Awesome raging bull
Mad max forever!!, But this shit is off the hook!!.
that v8 is SIIICK!!!!!!!!
NICE !!!!!!!!!!
how much do you guys charge for a motor like this??
10s of of thousands usually. USD that is
Sander Hoefling .....Also check out Blower Engines built by Big Al’s Toy Box. I have a blown 360, bored and stroked to 407ci.; Mopar motor making a Streetable 691 hp.
i need one of those before i die!!!!!!!!!!
Injection is nice but nothing replaces the instant power of a blower.
Awesome! All that on pump gas. Wish i could afford to play with something like that. Btw. After watching this video i think i need a cigarette. L.o.l!
Dear santa, I know It's a little early in the year, but....
Think the turbos will pull more hp
What fuel is it runing on?
is this a dart block?
great engine
Why in the fuck is it playing some oreiental music while showing us a supercharger v8..... Was enjoying the video until I noticed it, then I was pissed the whole time. It kicks in at the 1:00 mark. wtf....
Simplistic profanity, the mark of an imbecile.
Stephen Raznick Stephen Raznick, the name of an imbecile
CannibalJeri
Thanks for agreeing and not calling me an imbecile lol.
LOL exactly, sounds like Rain Man theme or some cheesy-ass 80's contemporary new-wave shit
I swear to God I've heard this music on a porn video. Type "Zuzana Zeleznovova White Couch" and find the one with the blonde chick bahahaha does anyone know what it's called?
wtf??????????????? damnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnn that was a good video
Très cool
nice but how does she run on a long raod trip? and whats the fuel mileage lmao!
Bout 4 gallons per mile???
@num1ksfan i know love to hear my truck running like that i just sit and let it idle while im working on it lol
love that upa nd down idle'
Hey how much do you run for one of these?
How is 434 a "small block " ?
Kick it the guts Barry.
Holy Crap!! Not for 16 yr old son first car......😂.
I have a little upgraded 302 about 360 hp and it turns 7500rpm
Why are you constantly stabbing the throttle? It be nice to hear it idol.
holy shit is it normal for a belt to shake so violently? jesus i thought it was going to fly off.
***** Yup. no balancers on blower motors. The belt absorbs all the internal 'noise'.
You use a timing tape on the hub and a pointer mounted to the chain cover. Yes the belts are adjydted with about a 1/2 inch of play. It tightens up after the engine warms up.
There's just no comparison to turbo. It's instantaneous, your foot dictates rpms.
oh, and 740 bhp at 7088 rpm too!
risky venture with such a fine engine,,,, think i would feel safer with higher octane... guess the owner wants to drive it on the street ....nice motor boys
Something very magical happens @ 7000 rpm~ oh ya its a MOTOR-GASM !!!!
What's the price tag ?
Tax from Australia,😂
how much is that motor?
Roots-blown
I hate to burst your bubble but I've seen a 434 SBC make that much HP N/A with 1 four bbl carb.
Not impressed.
Axle Grind I own. a N/A 434 that makes that. Low 9’s all day
i wanna put this in my miata lol
:)
Price ?
how much for the motor?
seems really lean for boosted motor?? any reason why
nevermind... i should finish video... you richened her up :)
lol that belt is all over the place
Small blocks were cool when I was a kid. Do this same work to a mans motor.
