  • Tom Nelson shows us another nitrous motor for his Australian customer. Good revs and sound. Lots of power. Not as complicated as some NRE motors. Go to nelsonracingeng... and nelsonsupercars.... Also go to VeritasMovieStu....

    VERY IMPRESSED! I am blitzed at how quick it starts and how tite that motor is! Call me old school but I still love my carburetors over fuel injection.

    Thats my motor 2024.
    Still going strong.
    Built 2015, won multiple events with it .
    Mid 9s, th350 turbo, full manual, 3000rpm stall, streetable pump gas motor.
    850 double pumper, 210cc AFR, 10.3 comp
    Run at high altitude, bigger carb and heads no gain at high altitude.

    I was a atv bike mechanic, i setup nitrous on banshees. 30hp was violent on a 350 cc 2 stroke, but 20hp was just right! Nitrous is awesome on any motor!

    It looks like the dyno "slipped" or leaked when you hit the button. That RPM jumpis the slack. 250hp at 3000 rpm is worth about 400 foot pounds, and that 441 was making 470ish at 3K when you hit the button, so that thing must have made near 800 lb ft. Nitrous is hard on parts, but woweeee, gaining that much torque instantly is nuts!!!

    Forced Induction > Nitrous
    The power is always there. No having to refill the bottle, no running out in a long race, and no having to push a separate button. I've also heard of engine problems getting the mixture wrong with nitrous.

      Having a nitro N/A Engine has advantages. Some of the quickest car around are nitro. Those yanky foxbodies with nitro small blocks absolutely fly. Forced induction is always harder to get out of the hole to. But yeah N20 is high maintenance

    @GryphonDork yes thats how they build the engines in NASCAR they're using 350 seize engines that top out at 10 grand and are naturally aspirated and make about 800 hp, but you would have to have a rear end gear and transmission that would take advantage of that

    In all likely hood those solenoids were checked and flowed by a 3rd party nitrous specialist so they really aren't NOS brand anymore if any tweaks needed to be made. All the N20 Guru's use it all because they are talented enough to elevate any brand components to a level to where they can then be matched with the rest of the set-up. I think that guy was just saying for the average user, NX stuff is a little better. Controller wise I say they are on par NOS controllers are really nice.

  • @SB22NOVASS

  • @James_T_Kirk_1701
    @James_T_Kirk_1701 11 років тому +1

    NX offers a wide range or model specific kits and things like plates that make nitrous more accessible to more people. NOS stuff is pretty basic, then once you get to DP's and things like that both can plumb you a great system, and flow it for you too. I just don't like their solenoids, I also think on a single nozzle EFI system NX nozzles atomize and distribute easier, not to say better... just less tweaking. These things can all be taken up by experienced users, to others its a deal breaker.

    That is one angry little engine! What timing and compression is that engine running. I've always been told not to hit the NOS below 3000 RPM, does that still hold true with your engines with the extensive head sealing you went thru? Thanks for any answers in advance, I know this is an old video.

    Save your money...... I have a bone stock 350ci gm " 290hp " small block. I put patriot performance 190 cc heads on it with a crower cam..... 240.. 246 duration at 50" 512 " lift. I have gone through at least 25 bottles of nitrous on this combo. The first 10 or so we're 150hp shot. Then 200 hp after. My heads are 64cc. My timing is retarded 5 degrees from a very high 40 to start off with. So with nitrous its 35. My 02 sensor reads 12.1: 1 a/f ratio. A little rich but staying together!!!! I think the rich mixture and lower static compression ratio is holding this together . I really don't care... Because I have not been beaten on the street!!!! It's probably around 550 hp ... But very violent from 2900 rpm when I hit the gas!!!

    bullshit there is tons of difference the only thing constant between the two is the compound itself. Induction Solutions offers the best support out of them all, but if i had to pick someone else to deal with I would choose Nitrous Express their solenoids are pretty badass, last I checked alot of the NOS stuff is still kind of old technology, their topshelf noids are nice though.

I have an Audi A4 with alittle over 700hp with a 50 shot to get me off the line cuz the turbo is so big but still idle at 900 !

  • @Procharmo

    But yes you could be right in this case......

If you used gas once a week for a year that's 50000 revolutions or like cruising at 2000 rpm for 25 minutes. Not really a long time over a year to wash the cylinder walls down. .. Dope!

    • @DanielRicany
      @DanielRicany 7 років тому

      The gap in the piston where the rings sit lifts up when you run too rich with nitrous as the fuel seeps past the rings and explodes forcing the ring land upward.

    • @stevemcqueen7607
      @stevemcqueen7607 7 років тому +2

      Ok, you are attributing an incorrect cause to your problem. That does not happen because of a rich A/F ratio. Most likely what you are actually seeing is a detonation issue or an incorrect ring gap issue for your application. When the ring ends contact each other it will mechanically fracture the top of the piston or you may call it the upper ring land.

The spray is the same the only difference is the equipment. Its like the difference between motor oil, engine combination, how its driven, ect.. One is not better than the other on ALL engines.
