      Remember one thing Steve has said many times. You get back as you give, and when you know this, you also have an obligation to pass it on. He's a great engine builder and a fun likeable guy to watch, but what I like the most about watching Steve, is how he acts according to his principles. Many talk a big game of principles and ideals, few honour and live by them.

    This is great seeing young girls coming in getting the ropes from a pro and really enjoy advancing their mind in this field especially old school stuff. Also learning the critical thinking process. She was getting pretty comfortable towards the end keep up the good work Steve. Really good horsepower out of that motor.

    It was so awesome watching you explain how the A/F Ratio works on the old-school 4BBL 750 dbl pumper carbs. EJ seems really eager to learn and not afraid to try to do something new to her. That right there is exactly, why you should keep teaching her as much as you can, whenever she is around! The information explained so well is hard to come by. Excellent job Steve and EJ!

      @Ammoniummetavanadate She's the one that did all the wraps for Tom Bailey and crew. She was behind the scenes mostly, but she has turned out to be very good at driving and is a fast learner. She is going to make it far, and people like working with her/teaching her. It's just exciting to see a young person start from the beginning and learn. We're going to hopefully see big things from her in the future

It is very generous of you to teach this young person (and some not so young people) hands on how a Holley should work, and then to set the timing, and then to operate a dyno control board.     Thanks for showing how engines are connected to the dyno. Seeing that splined shaft connect to the clutch/flywheel made it make all the sense in the world. Your videos are awesome.

    Kudos 👏 to you Steve it's obvious that you love to teach , the way you took the time to explain what each part does to Ej is immensely important in her education you have to crawl before you can walk . Ej is eager to learn and with you teaching her tuning fundimentals and bailey teaching her to drive she will be successful.

    550 to 600 horse 350 is pretty common these days? At under 6 grand much less! I just started watching your videos and you've got a nice clean shop and a nice personality. Good to see you giving a young lady some genuine hands on tutorials. She seemed very calm and having a calm teacher always helps the student IMO.

    Comp cams did the magnum cams @ 280, 292 and 305. I used to run the 292 / 518 in a sbc powered 65 Chevelle in the 80's.

    I stumped a tuner awhile back. My Mast Motorsports SS-LS7 was making 685hp on an engine dyno. I took out the SS cam and put in a Z06 cam and had the tuner de-tune the engine to 600hp. He was stumped because most people ask for more HP, not less. But I couldn't drive the car with the SS cam, it was too aggressive (race profile - wouldn't idle worth shit, and wouldn't make power until 2500rpm, great for pulling the front wheels off the ground - terrible for parades)

    It's like trying to suck a liquid through a straw that is cracked or or has a hole/access to air in it, the bigger the hole the harder to suck the liquid/less you get. The straw is the jet pulling from the bowl. The Air Bleed is the Crack or Hole/Access To Air before the Boosters/Mouth. Very easy physics experiment. Just how I see it in my simple mind. Very precise control if you have the right Hardware & understanding of it

    Ok by looking at the bore size it's at least a four hundred ci combined with smallish cam high tq numbers , tight 106 lobe sep cam isky known for that more power and torq that way , super nice motor , super good Dyno job

    Steve, thanks for the continuing education! I would like an episode regarding the relationship between Main Journal size, RPM, crankshaft oil passage routing, and oil pressure required to keep the rods journals oiled. For example I calculate that with the 3.25" cross drilled Mains in my Pontiac it would need 108 psi to keep the rods oiled at 8500 rpm. Thanks again!

    This is one of the most educational tutorials I've ever seen in such a quick time, you hit the best notes on what and or how to do in such a great way and made it seem simple for layman's terms for those who don't know can understand .even with my experience of 35 years I learned as well more and that's what makes living each day count for me! And I absolutely 💯❤your approaches to each issue explaining, I'd absolutely 💯love to have your knowledge and expertise when I need help or need the next engine built from a super race builder as yourself, I do have an idea of my next new engine combo 18* sbc dart engine and am going to need advise and parts to finish up as in pistons for the 4.165 boreand 18* gm bowtie heads, plus a crank and rods and am wanting somewhere between 421 and 434 cid or etc I hope you see my comment and also we use isky items aswell, great choice.       I swapped a Hydraulic Roller for a Flat Tappet in a Gen 1 SBC and called Howards Cams to tell them my pushrods were now way too long. They said a 7.150 should work, but I should use the adjustible measuring tool to make sure. I measured the correct lenght and it was... 7.150.
