It's called a nightingale floor, and a little research says that it likely wasn't intentional to begin with, but they found it a useful security measure so they made it a feature.
Did some research. The deflating house segment was apparently a neighbor's AC line leaking. I saw it and the first thing I worried about was their house exploding lol.

They have more stamina than larger canines. Although they were commonly used to hunt small vermin, they were efficient in being uncatchable and a nuisance to lions to distract them long enough or to tire them out for the final blow.

I'm pretty sure the first one is because of her insulation. It's very likely made of Vacuum Insulated Panels, which are insanely great at insulation because heat pretty much can't get through those, but the problem with a vacuum is that air really wants to get in. So, when she punctured a hole through the wall (and the vacuum panel behind it), the air rushed inside, which is why her house sounds like it's deflating and the nail looks like it's getting sucked in. (It's Delta P !)
EDIT : A lot of people have pointed out that another comment says it's a refrigerant pipe. Possibly with a "There was another TikTok where she explains everything !". I've searched for a while, but I haven't managed to find said TikTok, so unless you have a link that other comment is just as much of a theory as mine (which, you know, I'm not claiming is the absolute truth, just what I think is very likely). But definitely do prove me wrong ! Just do it with more words than "It's a refrigerant pipe, the op is wrong".

When I was very young, I read some books on ninjitsu, and there was a whole section on how to cross creaky floors like this! The techniquefor actually walking on them seemed like it would take a lot of time to learn and execute perfectly!

I love the idea behind the squeaky floor alerting about intruders, but as someone who likes walking very quietly and avoids the squeaky floorboards at my parents' home... I would perish the instant I heard a squeak. I want to be sneaky and scare the heck out of people lol

Now I know where the builders who laid my floor and stairs got their inspiration from. Thank you guys for protecting me from intruders.
The floor in my house goes a step beyond squeaking. Underneath is there is what I can only assume to be a metal cylinder, due to the noises it makes. If you've ever heard an old hot water cylinder clunking, that's what it sounds like when a certain portion of the hallway is walked through. It's odd, and I have never encountered it before. I'd love to rip up the floor and find out, but I rent, so I can't.
The squeaky floors are called Nightingale Floors!! They're not used in regular houses but in castles of Japanese warlords in the feudal era. In some of them, the faulty steps are spaced out so staff would know which ones to not step on, but an intruder like a ninja/assassin wouldnt, and thus make noise. I've been to that exact location! If I remember correctly theres also closets in some of the meeting rooms where samuri would sit in and hide, just in case things got nasty.

In our house, the floors happen to be squeaky anyway, but we can usually tell which member of the family is walking around by the pattern and volume and such of the squeaks, in addition to where someone is and what direction by the sequence of different squeaks.

Same here! We have all tiled floors so no squeaking, but I can tell which of my roommates is walking around just by the sound of their footsteps lol. One of them kind of 'plods', not quite a stomp but definitely heavier footsteps. One shuffles their feet so I can hear their slippers drag across the floor. One is nearly silent but has an uneven gait so their footsteps aren't evenly timed. And the last one has a prosthetic leg that makes a very different sound than an actual foot would, even when it has a shoe on it. I've used this knowledge to figure out which one of those fuckers was eating all my snacks in the middle of the night lmao. It was the shuffler 💀

@@maltheri9833 that’s actually not true. Smaller dogs are more of a threat to larger animals like coyotes because they can use their small size to get underneath and easily tear out their throats.
I know this because my large dog is absolutely terrified of my neighbors smaller dogs, one of whom even killed a coyote herself by doing what I mentioned earlier

The red cabbage thing: that is actually the coolest representation of how plants grow. The reason you'll see things like that in the growth of a cabbage is because the way they form is actually mathematically sound. Mathematics doesn't always shine through and cabbages aren't always perfect, but the fact that the cabbage was able to make a star of David because of how mathematically sound their growth pattern is? Amazing.
