I almost feel bad for the police, imagine knowing that you're being laughed at by millions of people for not only being caught in mud, but pushed back into it by a wizard
For anyone wondering what's happening with the wizard: German police are currently clearing a town to turn it into a surface coal mining area. Climate activists are protesting this. They usually do these shenanigans to make it as difficult as possible for the police and energy corporations to clear an area for mining, without trying to injure police officers who are just doing their job. Also, i believe the laughing people in the background are other protesters, not police. And the wizard was supposed to be a monk. :D The town's name is Lüzerath btw. I love this display of our culture, because police officers are generally very well respected here, but we also care about the environment. Edit: Media reports are saying there has been some violence from both protesters and police. Do your own research. Keep it respectful. Also, as someone pointed out, the town's people had been relocated and financially compensated much earlier. Now protesters are being cleared.
Unfortunately in this case according to police around 100 officers have been more or less injured there in the past week or so. Same thing happening for protesters.
@@JR44444 according to police reports 70, most of them due to twisting their ankles in the mud, or accidentally getting hit by their own pepper spray / water cannons (very strong wind gusts)
In Germany we got mighty Wizzards which cast spells to save the planet :P For real, there was a big Protest with much police violence atm. The most policemen and women which were hurt, were getting injuries were by the mud. But many protesters got injuries at their head, by batons of the police. If you are interesstet search for "Lützerach" in Germany. The Protest is against the digging of coal. Very political right now in our country. (and please be indulgent about my english^^)
Best thing is that this is a nature wizard, as this is literally a very real demonstration for stopping coal mining (and destroying a village) in germany! He knows his mud spells
Love the fact that the protesters are squatters in a village set to be demolished to make way for the expansion of a brown coal mine, one of the most harmful types of coals out there.
For those who are interested in the background of the "Mud Wizard": The village of Lützerath was located in northern Germany directly next to one of the largest open coal (lignite, to be more precise) mines in Europe. After the original residents left their homes either willingly or after long legal battles, environmental activists had been occupying the village for around 2 years. The German government, together with the local state government and the operating energy company RWE agreed on a compromise in October 2022, that on one hand included the end of coal mining in the area until 2030, the continued existance of 5 villages, but on the other included the destruction of Lützerath, the expansion of the coal mine, the increase of annual mining to around 30 million tons of coal, and the extraction of a total of 280 million cubic metres of coal until then. Environmental activists have since critizised the compromise as too weak: They demand the protection of Lützerath, a faster end of coal extraction, and argue that burning the 280 million cubic metres exceeds the national goals of the Paris Agreement for 1,5°C global warming by up to four times. Listed no. 96 of individual carbon emission producers worldwide, they demand that the mine and attached coal power plant be shut down as soon as possible. They also cite several scientific studies that state that the coal is not needed to balance the current energy crisis in Germany. In January, police forced from all over Germany were rallied to evict all activists from the village. A fence was raised around the village, and guarded 24/7, while activists were slowly removed from treehouses, shacks, and buildings on the inside. Three days into - and several smaller protests and attempts to blockade, slow, and stop the eviction later - around 35.000 people gathered outside the village to protest against the "Coal Compromise" and the eviction itself. Protesters soon started moving towards the fenced village and a legal "ban zone" that was created around it, until they were brutally pushed back by around 3000 police officers. The "mud wizard" scene took place in one of the fields around Lützerath during this afternoon. The fence and the village can be seen in the background. In the end, several hundred civilians and around 100 members of the police were injured. Activists did not manage to cross the fence, the village was successfully cleared two days after, and has since been completely destroyed. The events around Lützerath have sparked a heated debate about police brutality, a supposed radicalization of the climate justice movement, and has sparked criticism over the German government's climate policies. If you have any further questions about the background of process, comment them down below!
Thank you for the information! That makes it a bit sad now, but I’m grateful that there was so many working together to resist their government. I’ve always known the protests in the United States of America to be quite small; although proportionally, they sound about as brutal.

@@ciciamanda.pretty sure the turtle thought the bubbles where a form of attack, and you can see the turtle open it’s mouth.. attacking the bubbles maybe?
Quick info: this is a protest in Germany. The government tried to change the corrupt contracts of the previous government and now had to make the following deal with a coal mining company: Coal phase-out by 2030, 8 years earlier, but for this the new government had to sacrifice the village Lüzerath, although in theory the coal under this village can't be mined and burned, because this would break the government's climate goals. So almost 100 thousand people protested in this village in the last two weeks. And the wizard was peaceful. What is not seen in the video is that the policeman took the sign from the wizard and threw it several meters behind him.
Understood, but I suppose it's because they seldom see white folks where they are living. You, I assume, on the other hand, are used to being around white folks. I went to Cavite City in the Philippines once a long time ago. Loved the place, but I couldn't help noticing that I was the only white guy there. Made me feel like I stuck out in a crowd.
It could be worse. Hirsute European and North American men have reported getting their arm hair petted and pulled by strangers in Japan without asking.
don't feel too bad. as long as nobody acts disrespectful it's not a big deal. I'm black and this happened to me all the time when I was studying in China. including people pulling my braids without asking lol
i just wanna add that these protestors are fighting against the coal industry for our climate in germany. while both sides use some amount of violence, the protest is overall relativly peaceful. Mostly young people stand against the police and take hits with batons and blasts with water cannons they stay strong. Many people believe that counterforce isnt the right thing to do because police just does their job, most of us think that our climate and future has to be protected at all cost. If you wanna get a rough image, search for "lignite mining germany" and look at those images. And destroying the landscape isnt even the worst thing... The coal is supposed to be used as energy source especially after russia trying to pressure us with their gas but indeed its a very dirty source and a huge stepback in terms of clean energy. Sorry for my bad english, but i feel like this is some important information for people outside of germany.
The whole village was bought out by the company. There are no residents living there anymore. Only those protesters. Nice job saving empty homes, that belong to the company

As someone who visited India 5 years ago I can confirm that it’s true, we had to take pictures with people at least once each five minutes and everyone watches you, it’s kinda cool
It's not because they are white. The reason is people just want to show that they meet a foreigner today to their friends. Even if you are Korean or African it will be safe. Just search African black man to go to India and became a celebrity. Indians rarely see foreigners in their country. So saying it's for white is far from reality.
But like what did they want with the picture? Is just because you're white and that's like special to them or because they think you're famous or something because of Hollywood movies and shit
@@remcon559 i think it’s because we were foreigners, one time a random person gave my sister her baby for a picture without saying anything beforehand in front of the Taj Mahal, she was so confused
Some people are generally happy to see foreigners and click pictures with them to show to friends and family. Some perceive foreigners as exotic, specially the white ones considering the advancement of their countries and how media and Indian intellectual class portray them. An underlying desire for whiteness in many people due to unresolved civilisational complex generated during history of British colonialism also adds to this behaviour.

@@parlamedia Lesson learned: Don't underestimate India or really any countries/cities.
Do thorough research and learn the place's special things to pay attention to before traveling there, as well as try to find someone who knows the place you're at and who you can trust beforehand and try your best to avoid the slums or poorer areas as much as you can, because your chances of being robbed or becoming a victim of violence or fraud are higher there, especially since some people can spot vulnerable people in a crowd exceptionally well due to their street smarts.
I mean, if people attempted to scam me on the streets multiple times in a relatively small city in a Northern European country I live, imagine how much worse things are in other places around the world.
Use your brain, do your research and stay safe.

The town's name is Lüzerath btw.
Sehr schön.

0:25 DAMN the skill 😍😍😍She can be either a popular voice actor or a talented metalcore singer haha
For those who are interested in the background of the "Mud Wizard":
The village of Lützerath was located in northern Germany directly next to one of the largest open coal (lignite, to be more precise) mines in Europe.

What is not seen in the video is that the policeman took the sign from the wizard and threw it several meters behind him.

i just wanna add that these protestors are fighting against the coal industry for our climate in germany.
while both sides use some amount of violence, the protest is overall relativly peaceful.

I wonder why?

@@tannerbroyles that cop probably also pulled over, and arrested undeserving people because most cops are power hungry bullies. He probably deserved to have the tables turned for once
1:14 I did that once. A lady was waiting in traffic and she left, not only her phone, but petrol cap and sandwich she had just bought. I said to her "I'd think you would rather have these in the car than on the car." The look on her face was priceless.
To command the earth is no easy feat. Mad respect to the master sorcerer of mud.
His secret power is being vegan and weighing 120lbs wet
@@ipsojure2137 he practises geomancy among which veganism is a subschool.
He literally is trying to protect our planet from climate change and coal companies using his magic. mad respect
It's a monk!
@@whitehospitalfairwarning1848 originally yes, that's what i thought when i saw him at the protest, too. But everyone calls him a wizard now, and i think it's pretty cool having a wizard fighting by our side against climate change
"German Police defeated by mud wizard" feels like a vibe I've felt before but never in real life
That wizard is the hero we deserve.
Gotta love how the wizard walked up to the officer with so much swagger and just shoved him over
I post videos like daily dose of internet as well!

@@ThisGuyDannyyy Yea how lol it’s been 3 minutes
As a fellow mage, I can confirm that this mud wizard is a fine man. He's protecting a German town from having houses destroyed to make room for a coal mining operation.
As a fellow mage, I can confirm my fellow mage is correct.
Is it Garzweiler?

The police stuck in the mud is one of the funniest things I've seen in a long time! Great video, love the determined turtle too.
