I had to turn it off at first because I thought it was legit and I have a really bad fear of heights. (Now that I think about it, I think I had a mini freakout when I first went rock climbing as a kid.) And then I saw the end of the video.
I know I’m a year late, and someone may have already said this, but the whole loss of blood flow in the hands thing is actually called “Raynauds disease / phenomenon” which causes a reduced blood flow in fingers or toes! It is commonly triggered by stress and the cold! And is easily reversible by warming up whatever is dealing with the issue! :]
To all the barbers out there who are watching this video because worried friends sent it to you: No need to be alarmed, your shaving machines wont't cause what you see in this video. This is Raynaud's syndrome. The condition occurs because blood vessels go into a temporary spasm, which blocks the flow of blood. This causes the affected area to change colour to white, then blue and then red, as the bloodflow returns. When you suffer from Raynaud's disease, this is usually triggered by cold temperatures, anxiety or stress. If you don't have this disease, the only way to lose a finger from shaving is if you're clumsy af, in which case you probably shouldn't run a barbershop.
Sorry, but you are incorrect. You’re about 90% right in what you said, but you are missing that Raynaud’s Syndrome can also be caused by mechanical vibration. That climbers acting had me seriously convinced, haven’t seen a video that could do that in a long long time. (got me to the point of my stomach slightly dropping)
That one cat that walks the same path every time reminded me of some old tumblr post. “Nothing’s set in stone, but they’re set in a dirt road. If you roll your wagon in the same path too much, it’ll soon be the only path you can take without struggling.”
Can we take a moment to recognize more fully the pure MIRACLE of that man walking again!! Like, are we just gonna skip over that without shedding a few tears! Look at it!!!
Yeah, the mechanical part of the problem is easy, but breaking whole mechanism up.The fact ,that we can fix it from biological and medical perspective now is truly a miracle that can open the way to cure a lot of problems
For those wondering about the turtle one, no he is not racist, he actually got ran over by a black truck. Luckily, someone saw him, took him to the vet, and started taking care of him. As he did this he realized that he started hating the color black because that was the color of the truck that hit him.
This was probably my favorite compilation you've ever made. The rock climber panicking 2 inches off the ground was hilarious! The paralized man walking again was just gold. Monster Mutt pulling an air flare was a pretty cool move.
The cat path also applies to dogs. I had a dog that did the exact same thing, followed the same path around the side of the house. When he passed and we got a new dog several years later, she did the same thing, and subsequent dogs did it as well without any prompting. The reason we think is because the path followed the roofline of the house, and when it rained, the water cut a divot into the dirt where there were no gutters. The end result was a smooth, water-worn path free of rocks and debris that probably felt nice to the dogs’ paws.
It happens with many animals yeah. I’ve seen deer do it, cattle, horses, sheep, etc. humans do it too, you just can’t tell because most of what we walk on is cement, concrete or wood
@@jeremo2085 hi! I studied animal behavior as a minor of my biology degree in university and we learned about this trait. Lots, dare i say most animals do this, and its not pheromones or anything relating to scent. Its a case of simple energetics. By wearing down a "game trail" animals exert less energy over time when covering the same distance as the more the trail is used, the less plants and other obstacles grow up making it easier and quicker to travel along. Hope this makes sense!
There is something quite nice about that cat in the end of the video, all the green and plants, you can almost feel the warmth of the sun. The birds chirping, and the cat just taking a nice walk.
Don't think you got it. It was a joke, he knew he was fine, it was like acting as a toddler when they can't do something, they say they don't want to anymore and go off with a huff. All silliness.
i had 2 farm dogs growing up in the middle of nowhere. they would run from the field to the house when they heard our car coming down the driveway and over the 14 years they lived....they created trails from that glorious run. my heart hurts when i see it cause i swear i sometimes can imagine them walking the line
There is a visible line in the grass near a road I drive on regularly and I wondered where it came from for quite a while. One time i saw a cat following the line exactly and realised that it made itself a little path. Sometime later I actually walked over the grass and saw that the path made it harder for the grass to grow there and the rain had washed away the dirt a bit more than elsewhere so it actually looked like a proper cat sized footpath like the ones you'll find on hiking trails.
As somebody who spends a lot time in residential areas, I can confirm that the cat at the end of the video is not the only one. So many lawns would have this line running through it, and it took me a few months before I saw a cat walking the path and came to realise that all of these lines in lawns are caused by cats.
As a wheelchair user, the brain microchip is amazing news! It wouldn’t help me as my disability is not paralysis but I did have several years of not being able to walk at all before getting back the ability to walk a very limited amount due to a physical rehab program, so I am very familiar with the difference that getting some leg usage can make and how it feels to get a bit of mobility back. Also, as a very socially awkward person, the field of antisocial dogs really got me! 😂
It's still a highly experimental treatment. From what I researched, using microchips isn't a long-lasting solution as it can still have a variety of faults over time. That's why they're trying to find a more analog and medical manner of doing it. Don't get me wrong. It's a step in the right direction. But it's a short term solution.
@@evilhobocheeky1280 Also wireless technology is not 100% reliable because in modern world everything transmits radio signals and there is a probability that this chips connection can be scrambled. It's better to trace wires along the spinal cord rather than use wireless connection.
@@evilhobocheeky1280 I hear you and understand but the fact that we're making any progress toward combating this issue makes me extremely happy as is! It's exciting to think of the potential future this opens up for so many.

Because has no return investment, but making a crutch that still makes a person reliant on their medicine is.
Can we speak more about the fact that someone was able to walk again? That's almost a miracle. It's so amazing and so marvelous that medicine and technology are building these bridges for a better lifestyle.
As someone with Reynauds Syndrome, my fingers do the same thing the barber's do when it's too cold outside and I'm not dressed warm enough/not moving around enough! Running them under warm water is the trick! It's also fun to freak people out by coming in from the cold and saying "Hey, wanna watch the blood flow back into my fingers?" lol
0:53 PSA: If your hair randomly starts to levitate up like you just rubbed a balloon on you head, either IMEDIATELY seek shelter or if that isn´t available get low to the ground. Because thats a very clear indicator of a massive static charge in the air that may discharge in lightning very soon. As is visible here. That guy and the other people where in a lot of danger right there, and lucky it discharged on the other mountain top.
Depending on how old they are it can be worse. 13-14 year olds don’t constantly talk like this as if it’s plain English, but some of the not extremely cringy lingo is thrown in as well. People who do talk like this constantly are ostracized commonly. Also, lingo isn’t as bad as people think. Sure, too much of it can be really annoying, but some of it is fine. If lingo didn’t exist, the word ok wouldn’t exist.
I've experienced the thing in the thumbnail (Raynaud's phenomenon), I believe I've had it even without any obvious trigger, but since being prescribed propranolol for essential tremor, I've had it quite a few more times. It's pretty shocking to see it/feel it, especially when you don't know what's happening. Luckily my attacks(?) have resolved themselves relatively quickly
Just had to express my appreciation for always giving us what we see in the thumbnail right off the bat, rather than putting it at the end to keep us watching. We keep watching even after we’ve seen what we clicked on the video for because we know this man puts out quality content. Truly a gem of a man 💞
Not always, he did do it couple of times before where he put thumbnail video at the middle/end, but that was quite a while ago, im glad he stopped doing it.
0:12 I have a condition like this and it's really scary. Not from vibrations, but from a separate condition that ended up triggering Raynaud's disease. I completely lose circulation in my hands and feet and it looks exactly like that. Winter this year was brutal (and I'm Canadian god help me) since even slight cold is a huge trigger. It's especially scary since not only can I lose my fingers, but you can't feel them. Meaning if I'm cutting cold fruit or something similar, I could cut myself or seriously injure my hands without even realizing it. Props to barbers for going through that while working, especially with all the blades and whatnot!
I was so scared for the second dude until I saw him get down. Unless you're a very highly trained professional with extreme trust in your skills, always use safety gear!
"highly trained professionals" are even more likely to use safety gear than beginners that are usually a bit reckless. When you're experienced you know how dangerous the stuff you do actually is
The cat walking the same path at the end is kinda crazy cause you know the first week or so of him walking that path probably showed no noticable trace marks. Unless a bike rode through there or something
That looks exactly like Raynaud's syndrome! I didn't know barbers experience something similar for the vibrations. You have a decent amount of time before damage is done (as someone who has gotten minor nerve damage from Raynaud's), but if a barber prioritizes finishing up with a customer before attending to it, that could definitely be an issue. Not gangrene-level issue, but still an issue

For those wondering about the turtle one, no he is not racist, he actually got ran over by a black truck. Luckily, someone saw him, took him to the vet, and started taking care of him. As he did this he realized that he started hating the color black because that was the color of the truck that hit him.

That's low-key ascinating actually, thanks for sharing 👍🏻
I think it's trail pheromones, like ants. Or just some type of pheromone that they release.
It happens with many animals yeah. I’ve seen deer do it, cattle, horses, sheep, etc. humans do it too, you just can’t tell because most of what we walk on is cement, concrete or wood
@@coleauten5612 bike trails with the "shortcuts" you see on grass
@@jeremo2085 hi! I studied animal behavior as a minor of my biology degree in university and we learned about this trait. Lots, dare i say most animals do this, and its not pheromones or anything relating to scent. Its a case of simple energetics. By wearing down a "game trail" animals exert less energy over time when covering the same distance as the more the trail is used, the less plants and other obstacles grow up making it easier and quicker to travel along. Hope this makes sense!

i had 2 farm dogs growing up in the middle of nowhere. they would run from the field to the house when they heard our car coming down the driveway and over the 14 years they lived....they created trails from that glorious run. my heart hurts when i see it cause i swear i sometimes can imagine them walking the line
create a little road
and name it glorious run haha
Make it into a walking path, keep it cut and maintained
God bless you
❤❤❤
There is a visible line in the grass near a road I drive on regularly and I wondered where it came from for quite a while. One time i saw a cat following the line exactly and realised that it made itself a little path. Sometime later I actually walked over the grass and saw that the path made it harder for the grass to grow there and the rain had washed away the dirt a bit more than elsewhere so it actually looked like a proper cat sized footpath like the ones you'll find on hiking trails.

It's basically the same condition. This is referred to as secondary Reynauds because the cause is external but it's still Renauds.

Any chance girls get yellow 🐈 from similar overexposure? I feel like I need to warn my friends if so xD
@@Hotchpotchsoup if you are talking about what I think you are, too much intense vibration can numb that area, but that’s as much as I know.
@@HotchpotchsoupThere is way more blood flow down there than in extremities, so that shouldn't happen. I was worrying thinking whether that could happen to the fingers though
It either is Raynauds or related. But prolonged vibrations caused damage to the nerves/blood vessels causing the same symptoms.
