Is it him or Bob Ezrin though? I hope its Rick. By this time in the band i know Richard Wright was only a “session musician” and not part of the band anymore. But played for the tour.
@@theshredguitarist25the interesting thing about Rick just being a "session musician" on this tour is that he actually made money from the shows, and David, Roger and Nick lost money.
This is why Roger is my hero. When your too tired to go on, too burnt out on life, too depressed, and beatdown... The show must go on. Its a song of strength.
12 years lol but I wanted to add. Really disagree with that message of strength, to me it follows how Pink has been worn down excessively as a performer and is being forced to continue. "Do I have to stand out? Wild eyed in the spotlight. What a nightmare"
No I disagree. This song is the opposite of strength, it's wanting to give up but you can't. The show must go on, not at the will of Pink but rather the will of whatever he's become.
Pink Floyd- The Show must go on 10/10 Queen- The show must go on 10/10 Two of mine favorites bands performing two different songs with the same title and both of them are outstanding....
This is one of my top favourites from The Wall. I wish the recorded the original album version like this. That nice synth to open and the extra lyric...
Waters wanted the Beach Boys to do backing vocals and, amazingly, they agreed; until they realised the 'theme' of the wall, they quickly reneged and pulled out to do their own tour! lol! but Waters actually got some beach boys' backing session singers to tour with the wall.
I know it's like 11 years since you wrote that comment, but I would have fucking loved the Beach Boys on a Pink Floyd album. That would be two of my favourite bands working together.
3 роки тому+2
Also, I'm ready to bet 20 bucks that Mike was the one to pull out after he was confronted with the album's themes, lmao
Actually regarding the Queen/Pink Floyd comments, it was recorded as Freddie Mercury asking for his driver of his car to play Pink Floyd The Wall album....so ner ner ...
Thanks for posting it. I don't know how you get google ads on it, but hey more power to you. the irony is i was bummed thinking about my fledgling show which i post on youtube too & at one time had google ads on it too. Google banned me from adsense when i broke no copyright laws. i only made the mistake of accidentally clicking my own ads. Since then i have lost most all revenues for the show & now i am looking at insurance sale to survive. To pump myself up i found your song and was shocked.
One of four tracks that should have been included in the Wall Immersion Box Set on a "lost tracks" CD or some other CD in the set. This, What Shall We Do Now?, the original version of the In The Flesh? with the intro (as heard in the live show and movie) and the original version of The Thin Ice with the longer piano intro. Can't understand why Pink Floyd and/or James Guthrie decided to keep these tracks out of the Box Set. The Wall is not really complete until these studio recorded versions are released in some fashion.
And my friend, there is Queen. A band in the category of Pinlk Floyd. The uncomparable though, as they are different styles of rock. Floyd's meaning is so deep, but Freddie Mercury is probably the best singer of all time.
People are saying on Queen had a title with the show must go on too! But Freddie mercury has a song called time as does of course pink floyd! Both bands respect each other in which way so let's just say there both bloody good bands imo the best bands ever along with zeppelin!!!
+christopher morrone anyone who thinks Queen and Pink Floyd should be mentioned in the same sentence aren't real Pink Floyd fans. Queen is great. Pink Floyd is Pink Floyd.
christopher morrone in fact Pink Floyd did their version decades before Queen. Pink Floyds version is from The Wall and Queens version, written by Brian May, is from the Innuendo LP, it was recorded during Freddie Mercury’s final months in life. The title is not linked to music specifically, it occurs in quite a few cultural contexts. I do like both versions, but I think Queens version is known to a larger population, maybe to do with the iconic status of Freddie Mercury.
wtff u guys upto comparing this with the queens??? dont u get a feeling when gilmour starts with Must the show go on.......?? so beautifully composed and vocals by gilmour is jus awesome.. i jus love it The show must go on........
I jus love when dave starts with must the show go on.......... this song is short but i find it more strong than the queens one ... though i love tat one as well... this blows me everytime i hear it and its not the same wit the queens one for me....jus an opinion and fuck off who wanna give me thumbs down lol
You should read wasting talent by Ryan leone. Lots of Floyd references. It is considered the darkest novel ever written about drug addiction and shouldn't read it if you are timid or easily offended. You can get it on amazon.
@gorillazhead ill be there in arnhem april 9th, couldnt get a ticket in the uk so im off to holland to get meag wasted and see roger play the wall, cant wait
love the piano and synthesizer in this version. R.I.P. Rick Wright, Wish You Were Here
Is it him or Bob Ezrin though? I hope its Rick. By this time in the band i know Richard Wright was only a “session musician” and not part of the band anymore. But played for the tour.
@@theshredguitarist25that’s David singing so it would have been RW. He was restored as a full member and partner after Roger’s exit.
@@theshredguitarist25the interesting thing about Rick just being a "session musician" on this tour is that he actually made money from the shows, and David, Roger and Nick lost money.

Roger Waters is definitely my Ultimate Fave of the Band ........and Yes David is the "Real Slow Hand"

@@LSqre Or at the will of "the system", in this case it's Pink's manager, producer, etc. Forcing him to go on after nearly overdosing
Being this the meaning or not, David’s vocals are perfect to this song
"Must the show go on?" asks Dave deeply and powerfully, and spine-tingly. As noted below. that voice...
This higher parts are absolutely amazing too. The “is it too late?” Part never fails to give me chills when I listen to the wall
his voice is wonderful here and throughout this whole show.

It would be so nice if they put these additional lyrics in the record.
I love this song.
There wasn’t enough space on the og vinyl
This is the best version I've heard of this song!! It's the best, especially with the extra lyrics!!
Waters wanted the Beach Boys to do backing vocals and, amazingly, they agreed; until they realised the 'theme' of the wall, they quickly reneged and pulled out to do their own tour! lol! but Waters actually got some beach boys' backing session singers to tour with the wall.
He only got Bruce Johnston to do the album vocals
I know it's like 11 years since you wrote that comment, but I would have fucking loved the Beach Boys on a Pink Floyd album. That would be two of my favourite bands working together.

I think this version of the song is better than the original from the studio album.
the vocal harmonies are awesome in this song
just got to see him in Chicago earlier this month. he still sounds this good at 70. it's amazing. and his shows were amazing. wow.
i never get fed up ov listening to pink floyd, they r beyond a doubt the greatest band ever !!!

PINK FLOYD IS THE BEST BAND EVER!
At any rate, the Floyd and the Grateful Dead are two of if not the most significant touring bands of all time.
God I LOVE this version.

short and sweet.always a fav.helps me tear down my walls and sing.
"It was just a mistake. I didn't mean to let them take away my soul. Am I too old? Is it too late?" - The real reason Pink Floyd split up.

Freddie Mercury didn't write the song
19 people tried to stop the show.

This is Pink Floyd's The Show Must Go On ... Queen have their own The Show Must Go On ... the 2 tracks are totally different

Check concert times/locations.
Amazing
they changed the lyrics a bit....also, is this concert on DVD yet??? i want it
@mattdavgra Thankfully we at least get to see Roger bring it back. Can't wait for the show to go on
Esta es mi respuesta en video. La hice con muchas ganas de trasmitir algo... Espero le guste a alguien.
They've also added a new verse before the old one with a couple changes.....
Actually they were not "new" verses, they were cutted off from the album, due vinyl space limitations (exceeded the allowing running time)

....i can just say i love floyd...
Pero escucha esta cancion en el disco 2 is there anybody out there? y es la misma!!!
what a fabulous show. Gilmour voice is fucktastic.
@crtunlvr actually the pink floyd version came before the queen version
love the instrument that plays at 2:00 .. what is it?
I believe it's a keyboard or synthesizer that has some type of flute or ocarina-esque sound on it.
That's Flute. Thank me later.
@@jordan_786 you're 4 years late man
It's a Prophet 5 synthesizer, with a flute/harmonica like sound. Too many synts can produce a sound almost like that.
No puede ser!!! ese video es del disco is there anybody out there? donde lo conseguiste???
Por cierto que buena esa cancion!!
Damn right!Beside it's stupid to compare this two great bands!

@Brrrrr43 Well, you can't see the band because it is The Wall, of course. "Act like you don't want to pay attention, OK. We won't let you."
must the show go on?
I like this version better than the album version
pink floyd
So many views, so fewer likes, so lesser comments...
I meant I did like the spoon coment ;-)
the Genius of Dave Gilmore & Roger Waters- Roger said he was haunted by his dead father who served in the War 1 or 2. i read that in a magazine-
I wonder if Queen their song name from this
is this a different version?

Genial cancion en mi grupo favorito.
OS QUIERO QUEEN Y PINK FLOYD
woah, extra stanza.
It's REALLY obvious it's not the same song as Queen. Different tune and different lyrics...
One Eargasm must go on?
lol...how the hell could someone think this is a cover of Queens song?? It doesn't sound anything like it. This song is great by the the way ;)
YOU! BACK-UP!!!!

What do you mean Queens version? Two completely different songs
am I too old? Is it too late?
@ReaperOwnz you apparently never heard of queen ;)
no se para quien es la pregunta... por si las moscas... es made at home
it's slightly extended
Why the HELL are you comparing it to Queen!?
The song that warns you, I'm leaving PF
those are two completely different songs and styles.
heh, sounds bit like Queen - Boheman Rhapsody with the "ooooohh Take me home, Take me home, Take me hooome..."
Paradise city by gun n roses
No: it just sounds like Pink Floyd, the best band ever existed on this planet!
