I been a Pink Floyd fan for many years now, from the age of 11... 49 now, I always thought & assumed Dave was the back bone of Pink Floyd, after listening to Roger's solo albums over the years, I now understand most of his work & realise that Roger was infact the back bone of Pink Floyd then, absolute lyrical genius 👏
You're not alone, it amazes me how a lot of PF fans don't understand the dynamics of the band. From DSOTM onwards, these albums were all the ideas & concepts of Roger Waters. He composed most of the music. He wrote all the lyrics. People might not have liked it, but he was right when he said Pink Floyd was finished when he left.
I have just had the best experience of my life at a show from Roger Waters in This Is Not A Drill Tour. This is just a masterpiece from a legendary musician & the nostalgic journey was something that’ll live forever in my mind. Just an incredible piece of Artistic talent. Pure joy and an emotional experience. 🐖☝️
@@creepingbrain Even before DSOTM, he was the creative director of the band. Once Syd Barrett left, Roger steered the ship. Almost ALL of the best songs before Dark Side are either exclusively Roger's or he had a big hand in them. This includes tender ballads like "Julia Dream" and psychedelic jam numbers like "The Embryo." Without Roger, there would have been no Pink Floyd after Syd. The music produced by Gilmour's revived Floyd after Roger left is proof enough that without Roger, there is no Pink Floyd. David's ersatz Floyd was good enough when it reproduced the old classics live, but all the new material was just terrible.
I vaguely remember, as a very young lad, lying on my father's lap, opposite me, my little brother doing the same, listening to Roger in the late hours of the night. I remember the lucid tranquility his voice alongside his music offered. Tonight I listen to his music once more. Twenty years later and the feelings bubble up unharmed and unchanged, I'm still that young lad on that late South African evening. Thank you Roger. I hope young lads around the world continue to listen to your music, maybe, while lying on their pops lap. I love you Dad.

Roger is a word man a Lyrical sponge and his enjoyment is our relaxation..!! 23 at the time and still it feels like a wonderful journey of music that feels good with or without headphones.!!
This has Roger's best and strongest vocal range and perhaps the best vocals. No matter where the album starts it finished beautifully touching the humanity and feelings of two human beings should never be deprived.
Really touching. Voice, music and landscapes show us the man who works, who brings home his bread with difficulty. In the bars on his routes he finds real people. Roger Waters has always "seen" reality as it is and has transmitted it in music. Life is more acceptable. Thank you so much ❤️

Lyrics
In truck stops and hamburger joints
In Cadillac limousines
In the company of has-beens
And bent-backs
And sleeping forms on pavement steps
In libraries and railway stations
In books and banks
In the pages of history
In suicidal cavalry attacks
I recognise...
Myself in every stranger's eyes
And in wheelchairs by monuments
Under tube trains and commuter accidents
In council care and county courts
At Easter fairs and sea-side resorts
In drawing rooms and city morgues
In award winning photographs
Of life rafts on the China seas
In transit camps, under arc lamps
On unloading ramps
In faces blurred by rubber stamps
I recognise...
Myself in every stranger's eyes
And now, from where I stand
Upon this hill
I plundered from the pool
I look around
I search the skies
I shade my eyes
So nearly blind
And I see signs of half remembered days
I hear bells that chime in strange familiar ways
I recognise...
The hope you kindle in your eyes
It's oh so easy now
As we lie here in the dark
Nothing interferes, it's obvious
How to beat the tears
That threaten to snuff out
The spark of our love

I was in love with this album it's like here in the wall all over again for the first time it's just something that's epic is a story to it and you can't just listen to one song from the album that's like opening a book and start from chapter 12.. thanks for the video
If you don't like this song there is something deeply wrong with you.
This is the 21st Century, so of course there is something deeply wrong ... with all of us. Even you. And that Teddy Bear over there. Those two girls on the swings. The bunny with the Glock ... in every stranger's thighs.
This is really horrible. You must have been dropped on your head out of the rig.
@@Cirathos Ur opinion sucks.
@@gabekyle260 So does yours.
Love this song
Stunning. No more needs said. The story of my life.
This music video takes me back to my childhood when there was a different kind of America. Things seemed to be more full of life and alive. I don't know how to describe it exactly but this music video makes me think of that time in my life when I was younger
That’s because everything seems more alive when you’re younger.
Thank you God to gives us Roger Waters❤
Lyrics like you will never see again... pure genius.
Roger is a word man a Lyrical sponge and his enjoyment is our relaxation..!! 23 at the time and still it feels like a wonderful journey of music that feels good with or without headphones.!!
Che dire!!! Roger è. sara' per sempre la mente di un mitico gruppo, CHE genio.....
Dopo Syd!
After Syd
pienamente d'accordo!! genio Roger!!
This song is in-between the colours of the rainbow. It calms my heart beat ❤
Hi.the legend roger is from another planet.
Clapton's guitar is perfection on this track, pure.
Roger waters a true genius in music and lyrics world
Love this song ❤
When I was about 16 me and my best mate would have a smoke and talk for hours about the meaning of our favourite music.we played pros and cons a lot
This song gives me goosebumps. Beautiful and wonderful roger waters!
the power of his texts and the intensity of his voice.
And vice versa.
Thank you Mr Waters for all these years of happiness listening to you.
Thank you so much ❤️
Great Song
This was one of my dad's favourites.
Love you
Great song deep in my wounded soul...
"And now
From where I stand
Upon this hill I plundered from the pool..."
Magic, still love and listen to this regularly after all these years - love 4:50am Go Fishing too, absolutely outstanding x
Some of the best work of his. Clapton is amazing on this album as well
I travelled to London in the summer of 85 from Glasgow to see him perform the pro's and cons in its entirity in Earls court. To hear this, and the gunners dream live with Clapton on guitar made it one of my most memorable gigs.
Absolute musical masterpiece
Absolutely love this song please get your head out of the clouds ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
....truck, road and Pink Floyd.. life style ❤️
I always come around and see what happens when you listen to very well respected musicians but there is only one man who gains my respect.
