5:53 beginning of Disposable Heroes solo
Also kinda sounds like no remorse a little
@@theinnercircle5820 Is no remorse as a matter of fact, though the confution with DH is understandable since Kirk is very kin to start solo from that position with that bending, also Enter Sandman, Dyers Eve, Battery immediatly come to mind
-:"Kirk Hammet is a bad 🎸 guitarrist"
-:"Kirk Hammet is a horrible guitarrist"
@@antoniocenteno1483No remorse was Mustaine
kirk hammet played for exodus
I’m seeing way too much criticism on Paul baloff’s vocals not just from this demo but from bonded by blood as if every thrash metal frontman has a beautiful voice, thrash is raw as hell and baloff’s vocals fit that insanity that thrash is supposed to be
It’s actually a lot more common in thrash to hear vocals like these than clean vocals like Metallica’s or Anthrax. Kreator, Overkill, Onslaught, Annihilator, Sodom, shit ton of bands have the raspy, thrashy voice and Baloff did it pretty well
Baloff is Exodus. After their first album it’s shit
@Gabriel Saldanha and thats why its the best thrash metal album of all time
i love pauls voice its just very thrash
It's because the BIB vocals sound like someone trying to make a goofy voice, not a harsh one. They would probably work better in a punk album.
These dudes are going to be HUGE!
RIP Baloff
6:34 GO! GO! POWER RANGERS...wait, wrong song.
You're thinking of the knockoff of this 😁
A studio album of this lineup and material would have been awesome.
I always thought the same thing. The songs are incredible.
yeah, it's called kill 'em all
@UCwatRHgOC2E3HeE9IMRY-XQ lmao that's an entirely different band, only constant is Hammett you dick
Kirk Hammett left for Metallica
@@RyansShack 😄
This sounds like Paul Di'Anno Iron Maiden! Very New Wave of British Heavy Metal influenced! 🤘
In fact It is director inspired by Bnwohm. Kirk got Tom Hunting into that, Tom said WE HAVE TO DO SOMETHING LIKE THIS. -from a Hammett interview
Diamond Head and Angelwitch
WHAT?
You're a fan of the BRITISH VIBRATOR music?
The last track sounds more like Death Angel to me. Something from the second album perhaps.
Yeah especially Whipping Queen.
very maidenish sounding , still bloody excellent !!!
I agree
First thought I had!
NWOBHM was definitely a strong influence. Back then it was the metal underground side of things. Besides some stuff coming out of Europe there was nothing else.
Like the album killers
First band of Hammett and Holt ! Amazing
Baloff sounds like an actual singer here.
3:58 wtff this sounds like master of puppets
Kirk on guitars
No, Master of Puppets sounds like this
Kirk composed the riff.
One of Kirk's guitar fills during the solos on Whipping Queen, is just like the one in Phantom Lord.
debgibsonfan Yeah it's the slide thing he does at 2:21
Mustaine did composed soli on phantom lord.
Kirk interpreted tgem with his little touch
3:49 Master of Puppets
5:53 Disposable Heroes
They are pretty similar, aren't they
@@JohnHWelch63 indeed
another reason why Kirk Hammett is underrated
@@JohnHWelch63 it's something called anecdotalism
@@777Eliyahu Well thank you very much sir. My previous reply was something called sarcastic humor. I would have included a laughing emoji, but it would probably been misinterpreted as well.
I wish Gary Holt would get as many as the original members as he can together and re-record and re-release these songs as an official Exodus album. These songs are great
I think Baloffs Voice doesnt sound as good in 2022
@@faultier3215 yeah he’s a bit too quiet now huh
@@sillygirlypop Yeah, kinda corpsey these days
@@necrodamus5481 yeah, these days he sounds like Helen Keller
Unfortunately, Lars Ulrich would sue him immediately, because Kirk took many of the riffs to Metallica, who stole them, and now they own them.
@4:51 you can hear Kirk Hammett's voice really clear. 😂😆
Not quite there yet but the energy's already in attendance. Some fine old school Thrash.
And of course, Kirk Hammett. ☺️
It's sad that there's no video out there pre-1985-ish for Exodus (at least that I've ever seen) Hell, there's only like a few pics pre 1984. I would love to see what these guys looked and sounded like on stage from 1981-1983
Me too.
check the book/movie Murder in the Front Row
@@andrehb I own both. There's like one or two pics if Exodus before 1984... The only audio of them pre 1984 are a few really terrible sounding demos and most importantly there are no pre1985 videos of them at all on MitFR. I also own Born in the Basement by Rat Skates of Over Kill. If it's thrash history, I own it.
@@pleasuretokill Nice -- I don't own a lot of the material but have fond memories of the Ruthie's Inn shows, I wish I would've held on to the flyers
@@andrehb awesome! Unfortunately I was born about 10 years too late. Started listening to those bands around 1987 when I was still a kid and didn't see my first concert til Metallica/Suicidal/Fight in 1994. Since then, I've seen well over 300 metal shows tho. Including the Big 4 in Indio CA where I was born and went on the MegaCruise in 2019. It's been a fun ride but I did miss the 80s shows..
Paul Baloff (R.I.P / D.E.P.). The best singer of Exodus.
Jose antonio moreno Agree.
Bonded by Blood has absolutely awesome vocals!
Rip Paul.
If Paul Baloff was the best singer for Exodus then why did it take from 1978 up til 1985 before Bonded By Blood finally got released and the only credit Baloff got after that was for the songs he wrote on Pleasures Of The Flesh. Basically Baloff was not the best because he partied way too much just like everyone else in the band but would go up on stage and even fuck up on vocals. Souza is by far STILL the better singer for Exodus he is professional.... unlike Baloff.
@@kevinmeadowcroft3174 baloff didnt even join exodus until 1982 so that 1978 to 85 to get album out had nothing to do with him. It was recorded July 1984 but not released until following April 85. Due to creative differences, business issues such as a dispute over the albums artwork that ultimately delayed its release. This had nothing to do with baloff. The band knew he was talented but creative differences and substance abuse did lead to his dismissal. Though when they reunited for a couple years in early 2000s he once again was with the band until his death in 2002. The band obviously still recognizes his talent if they were willing to have him back. Whether or not Steve or Paul is the best really doesn't matter it's all ones personal opinion anyway so there is no use arguing over personal opinions.
Rob Dukes is the best in my opinion. And his take on Bonded By Blood in Let There Be Blood I consider way superior to the original album with Baloff on vocals.
@ISAAC SLAWINSKI I will never understand the hate people have for Let There Be Blood. Is so much better than the original in like, every single aspect. Dukes' vocals are killer, the production is way crispier, the tempos are a bit slower which gives a heavier feel, it's like, an improvement in every single aspect that could've been improved. I never will understand you guys' hate for this album.
Iron Maiden influence is clear
Welcome to the early thrash scene
@@mistersunshine1330 it was pure Heavy Metal.
Sounds extremely similar to Early Maiden, Bitches Sin, Raven and Picture. They should re-record this and release as an EP.
Edit: main riff for Warlord is almost the same riff as the riff of Holocaust - Death or Glory (1981).
Also some licks where they surely listened Powerhouse and Birth to the sun by Yngwie
Man you can hear the strong influences the band had
Listening to this music from that era remind me of planting my very first legitimate high quality seed Sprouts of cannabis, and through nurturing and great care and attention became one of the greatest things in my life. Exodus and really good cannabis. It's an evolution and I am grateful to have witnessed it
Thanks for putting this up!
Thank you for posting this.
Love how they lifted the main riff from "Death or Glory" by Holocaust for "Warlord"😅
nobody noticed the riff to master of puppets on the second track?
3:48 right?
Jajajaja
Its similar but no nowhere near an exact copy or even the same notes or chord progressions.
@@11DNA11 its true
@@hellfire8883 exact !!!
Totally different from the first album! It seems sometimes to Iron Maiden ( Warlord)Kirk Hammett kickin`ass on guitars! Fuckin`heavy metal!
😋
Yep....before they heard Metallica and switched gears.
Would be great if they had actually released a full album in this style.
Fu**ing excellent, man! Thanks!
When Kirk was better than Gary, lol. I haven't heard this in 33 years.
Underrated comment right here hahah
Yep
He still is, no way is any hell will holt be better than hammett, as good as holt is, he is no hammett
@@mistersunshine1330 are you deaf or idiot?
@@mistersunshine1330 I disagree. Holt crushes Kirk in lead, riffs and song writing. The student has surpassed the teacher.
Reminds me alot about Dianno era Maiden and Fistful of metal era Anthrax
I was there, lived down the block from Paul. I also wish we had video. Ruthies Inn, Berkeley Keystone. Armored Saint, Metallica, Lawz Rokkit, it was one hell of a party. Fights every time Armored Saint came.
best lineup!:)
There's definitely a little bit of Iron Maiden first album influence...and even some Def Leppard influence too.
Funny how a lot of American metal bands from different subgenres started playing almost the same thing, influenced by NWOBHM, especially Maiden, Judas and Leppard. Ratt, Dokken, Twisted Sister (glam bands) Pantera, Exodus, Laaz Rockit, Overkill (Thrash) Anvil, Virgin Steele, (Speed/Power). Idk why they ended hating each other.
Even Slayer started out with that sound.
Death Angel and Anthrax too.
Exodus!!!!!!
Riff in warlord, during the solo reminds me of chemi-kill
Temazo Whipping Queen!!!
this is killer love it
Love Baloff's screams ..vocals a little cleaner than that of the debut but still brilliant..these songs are amazing....Hammet and Holt the original H Team
🤘🤘always liked this band
HEAD BANGER SEMPRE. LONGA VIDA AO HEAVY METAL.
The main riff in Warlord is the same than in the song Battlezone from Blizzard's 84 demo by Larry Lalonde.
Also the vocal line of the verse in Death and Domination sounds a lot like The Antichrist by Slayer vocal line too.
Interestingly enough, the band Larry joined after leaving blizzard was originally founded by a founding Exodus member
It's no surprise that Gary joined Slayer as Jeff Hannemann's substitute guitrarist or that Slayer were already fans of Exodus before "Bonded By Blood" was even recorded.
the beginning of warlord must be props to Michal Schenker and UFO.
Yeah sounds kinda like Rock Bottom
Schenker is Kirk's favorite guitar player, so this is not surprising!
Yeah Kirk is huge UFO fan
killer
Great Kirk.
Oh.
I pushed the "like" button before the music started.
GRANDISSISSIMA BANDA DE *THRASH METAL* 🇧🇷
infatti
this shit is awesome!!!! THRASH IN PEACE PAUL BALOFF!!!!!!
Enough already! Way too many comments about this song sounds like this, this riff sounds like that. Just enjoy it! This is classic stuff.
I get what you're saying but we as supporters have to point it out.
oh my fucking holy shit
Klingt wie die frühen Maiden. Cool.
Lol The intro of Warlord reminds me of UFO and the riff after that of Holocaust.
Yes - Rock Bottom and then Death or Glory.
UFO is one of Kirk's favorite bands and a huge influence to him.
EXACTLY
I thought the same about the UFO similarities....
yep
Warlord sounds like it's taking huge inspiration from Death or Glory by Holocaust.
did Kirk write a lot of riffs/ songs on Bonded by Blood..?
Pure Speed/Heavy Metal, in the vibes of NWOBHM.
🤘🏿
A couple of parts in Whipping Queen reminded me of I Am Nietzsche by Orchid.
Kirk Hammett is the shit in this demo
9:41 I swear this is seeds of hate from their pleasures of the flesh album
Did they play at the troubadour w.hollywood ~82
Punk 🤘🏼
Ivanildo Cafu more or less metal
...LOVE U ALWAYS LIKE FAMILY.?!
-ocean
Kirk murdered that first track!!
kinda scrubbed thru it & heard Priest and Maiden influences +
Fucking good Kirk 😊🤘
Definitely hear the UFO influence in there.
2:40 thats from 1978's Yngwie Malmsteen demo
I personally like Kirk Hammett better on here
intro sounds like lamb to the slaughter by raven
5:31 GO GO POWER RANGERS!
3:48 I can’t believe Kirk Hammett stole a riff from Kirk Hammett
Two first albums of Iron Maiden (Iron Maiden + Killers) = This song.
I don’t think Holt played guitar in the band until Kirk left.
Gary joined in 1981 and Kirk only left for Metallica in 1983, so yeah this is both in the demo... Some trade-off solos can be a little confusing when they sound similar but you can still tell if you listen closely... First track starts Kirk-->Gary-->Kirk-->Gary and then both simultaneously with Kirk doing the high pitch... Third track is the easiest to distinguish the two: Gary starts off and does the solo with all those dive bombs and lots of tremolo bar, the second solo is classic Kirk
Vocals on the third song reminds me of Death Angel kinda sorta. And Kirks solo Phantom Lord
Warlord sounds a lot like an Holocaust song (Death or Glory)
SOMEONE PLEASE MAKE TABS FOR THESE SONGS
I want the tabs to the last song
926: Mercyful Fate
Here's one question ... WHY THE FUCK didn't they use the riffs on the "Death and Domination" demo????? Those sounded so killer
Cause Kirk put them in Creeping Death
SinusoidalTerror What? Which ones? I'm mainly referring the riff at 3:25 and 3:48 and I don't hear those at all in Creeping Death. The chorus riff from "Dying By His Hand" was eventually put as the breakdown in Creeping Death but that's all I hear that Kirk had in Exodus that was used in Metallica
you're right, they do sound great. This demo is bloody awesome, but i personally feel a motor head/venom-like feel to these songs, and they don't sound as thrashy as they are compared to songs in bonded by blood. It would kind of ruin the integrity of the album so i think thats why they left it out.
sofa kingtight
Trapped Under Ice, Master of Puppets and Creeping Death.
remember when metallica had dave and ron and exodus had kirk, when the world was good.
What's wrong with Cliff?
@@_PuppetMaster86 nothing wrong with cliff i love cliff but im talking about when he was in trauma
James and Lars : who is the lead guitarist?
whipping queen seems to influence slayer's antichrist
I’m not saying they are stolen but the guitar solos feel “familiar” and I can’t quite figure out why
Damn! I'm so confused. If this Demo was in 1982 does that mean that Exodus were technically 1st to play this genre? I even heard riffs that clearly inspired James for future albums.
Dave and James loved Exodus I'm sure metal militia was inspired by Exodus
3:48 Master Of Puppets??
i sure wish this singer was still with this band
It would be nice too ... But he passed away years ago
The 11 thumbs down must be metallica fans boooo crybabies!
I'm a Metallica fan and I would NEVER give this a thumbs down.
@@gringo3002 I was a metallica fan but after 88 I lost all respect for them. This is what metallica means now🤮🤮🤮🤮🤮🤮🤮👎👎👎👎👎👎🤮🤮🤮🤮🤮👎👎👎👎🤮🤮🤮🤮
The second track sounds like the lord of the flies iron maiden
it's master of puppets riff as well
Kirk should go back to Exodus. Metallica don't let him do anything these days, and then Gary Holt could concentrate on Slayer.
No Kirk should stay. Gary holt is one of the main members, how can he leave and just go to slayer?
+Carnivorous Mower are you fucking kidding me??? gary IS exodus! ;)
+John Papachristos he will still be working with exodus
Agreed...
Gary is Exodus...
Very Iron Maiden (Killers) influenced.
Death and dominación se parece a la de the antichrist de slayer
When kirk did metal
gary holt wasnt on guitars at the same time as kirk hammett. he was after kirk hammett, at this time gary holt was a roadie
Wrong. Gary was always in the band.
HinjuRock im saying they both aren't playing guitars on here though. He talks about this on Loudwire
They clearly are - you can hear their two distinct styles when the leads trade off, such as in this section: 2:06. And this demo is listed in Gary's discography on Wikipedia.
HinjuRock why would Gary say otherwise :000
Show me an interview where he says that.
Wait a Second! The second song sounds like the Doom song, same bass too! WTF. the makes of doom copied this! (3:47)
Sounds like early iron maiden
Definitely influenced by w.a.s.p
hmm
Dave never invented shit, Kirk was shitting on Dave AND Metallica way before joining.
Ripping Iron Maiden off hard. But still really cool.
Tbh, kirk should’ve stayed with Exodus and Metallica shouldve kept Dave. I would’ve enjoyed Exodus being in the big 4 also i just kinda liked Dave and James as a duo better.
