Believe it or not, I discovered this band, along with Exodus, Venom, Mercyful Fate, Bathory, and a ton more by listening to the radio. Used to have an underground radio station where I grew up that played all the new thrash and underground metal coming out back then. Every Thursday at around 11pm till 1am it would come on, and I would write down the bands they played and run off to the store and buy the ones I liked. You kids have it so much easier, all you need is UA-cam.
Yes. The same in México. Discovering bands in underground fanzines. Mailing directly (ordinary mail, not emails) with underground bands around the world. I was 12 years old then, now I'm 50.
That's Awesome. When I was a kid, there used to be a radio program here In Philly that played a 2 hour Metal show every Friday Night at midnight. They did Mandatory Metallica at 11 pm, then at 12 played All Super Heavy, Mostly more underground type, Metal Bands. It was AWESOME. They played everything from Deicide to Destruction to Pantera, & everything in between. This was 20+ years ago tho...
I'm almost 20 but I would actually prefer a show like that rather than youtube. I like to hear someone else's metal playlists so I can find new bands I like. I have a habit of listening to the same songs and not looking for different songs.
Usually early 80's thrash demos sound like they were recorded on a potato but this is surprisingly well recorded. I would love to know how they ended up recording this back in 1984!
W.A.S.P(although not a Thrash metal band but however are a respectful heavy metal band during this time) Destruction, Kreator, and Slayer share a same song title within a two year period, and possibly other far underground thrash metal bands as well. 👍🤟.
I am old compared to some of you! I first herd of Destruction When Sentence Of Death Kreator - Endless Pain And Sodom - in the Sign all came out ! I was into Old Metallica ,Slayer Exodus and bands like Venom Merciful Fate Bathory Hell Hammer / Celtic Frost and A good Trash Band from England Warfare! great times and great bands!😈
Well yes but actually no. "Speed black metal", "blackened speed metal" and "black n' roll" are all just newer terms, mostly used to discribe more modern bands that copy the first wave of 80's black metal sound. I personally don't really like that name, l'll refer to them as "first wave reinactors" but this is none of those, this is one of the OG's
@@flatheadgg2443 this is blackened speed metal whether you like it or not. There is no distinction between eras in subgenre. Yes "blackened speed metal" is a recent term but it doesn't change the fact it is a blackened speed metal release.
Good God Damn. Been listing to DESTRUCTION for 30 + years now. How Did I Miss This?? Thank Much for Sharing this. It's now officially in my collection.
Your UA-cam collection? I hope not. Guys buy the Lp, it is on HIGH ROLLER. I dont say "support the band" because probably they are already rich, but buy the original stuff to enjoy playing the physical Lp or CD, besides is a good invest, in the future very few people will have the opportunity of play music any time, without annoying advertisements interruptions and from analog sources.
i wonder if the song mad butcher was inspired by the the movie of the same name. its about a german butcher who kills people then makes sausages from their bodies and sells them. turns out they are the best sausages around.
It's a good possibility, being they are German. Lots of metal bands took inspiration from horror movies. Black Sabbath & White Zombie for example both took their names from old Horror Movies...Or check out Kirk Hammett guitars, they are All inspired by horror movies.
An asshole on E.Metallum called Frontbeast a forgottable song with no standout riffs... I accept if somebody has a different opinion, but to call that song forgottable, and to suggest that its without value is a fucking sin..That song is a Beast which wants to rip the flesh from the bones. Aggressive, menacing... Best from the demo I think
They were a great Tech. band especially Mike on Gustav! herd them when Sentence of death came out! I The Big 3 from Germany! Destruction,Sodom and Kreator! I am so glad I was avteen when the Germany Scene was coming up!
Kids new comers 2 the underground scene this band is a must along with Bathory, Venom, Exodus, Sodom, Bulldozer, Sarcofago, Hellhamer= Celtc Frosti... DESTRUCTION !!! Fuck yeah
not heard this back in the day, very good early demo but preferred Schmier doing his sort of subdued snarl on the records as opposed to the kind of more Oi Punk vocal here .... but still decent demo for the time indeed ......... \m/
most of band produced their like shit.some demo that i heard their snare and drum bass is similar. salute to the mighty DESTRUCTION..let's Total Desaster!!!!
They were like 17 y old at this time ! Playing this well that young ! They didnt have computers and UA-cam back than ! This is a year after Metallica came out with kill em all ! How fucking advanced it is unbelievable! + they knew how to play their instruments that early unlike the other Germans (Sodom and Kreator) their early stuff was so sloppy its painful to listen to !
I used to hate early Destruction from their looks, but now I think to myself how did I hate them? Because now I love every single Destruction album except for 'The Least Successful Human Cannonball' album, I don't like that album, but no offence!
Mike was really playing good guitar here...this is very crude, but excellent early work. Much better than garbage like Sodom (although Sodom eventually became a good band when Frank Blackfire joined).
I like how almost every good Thrash Metal band had a song called "Tormentor" on their early stuff.
+The Boneless One what about "Antichrist".... there are 950 entries on Metal Archives for bands with Antichrist in their titles!
now reload the page with early thrash/black from the 80s
Ritchie Blackmore early slayer is probably the best
Or "Antichrist" ... Destruction, Slayer, Sepultura... You name it!!
The best Tormentor song is here, at 07:19

In the early years, Schmier vocals was insane like hell!!!
Now they just suck ass.
@@Knochenbrigade sadly yes
I grew up on this metal when I was 15 ,I'm49 now and is still the best.
Me too miss bands like Omen
Exactly tne same, I started when I was 15 and now iam 49.
Old Destruction fucking rules
It's when you go back to the demos of the earliest thrash metal bands you realize just how superior Destruction was as musicians and song writers....
Tottally agree, Destruction and Kreator also!!
the best
Sifringer is one of the best thrash guitarists I think

@Bringer of Death Because of UA-cam no one buys any of the records anymore, all we do is illegally stream.

4.Frontbeast 10:54

I like this better than their first official release. Production is more raw yet sexier.
The guitars sound meaner on this than the album.

You can still hear the bass clearly.
What a masterpiece
The music of my soul. So brutal.
Wow, this sounds far better (faster, clearer) than the sentence of death recording. Bad ass post.
The first "speed black metal'' band in the world.

Best demo album I've ever heard!
Is it just me or this Demo EP sounds better then "original"?
Wtf is the original if this isnt it?
It is just you. This demo sounds horrible (anyway I like it)
It does.
Thanks for posting, I still have that demo tape even I do not have a cassette player anymore.

Outstanding..\m/
Freaking amazing early stuff!!!
Ah...the good ole days!
The version of Total Desaster on this is fucking awesome! More to the point with less solos.

The title its wrong, please fix it. This is Demo material, not EP.
This is a definite out hellass
Well, it has been rereleased. Definite out hellass, you know.
Thanx 2 the Devil this band exists some where in some time in my life. Diablo 666. As matter in fact this tape sounds hell better
