Hello, glad to see your comment! I’m currently saving and getting ready to travel to the Philippines myself. But I’m in a wheelchair. Seeing as you have lived there and have a ton of experience. I’m wanting to know if you can still travel on a budget like the fellow in the video if you need it to be reasonably accessible. I’m not worried about exploring or anything like. Just being able to get in and out of cheap hotels/ hostels. Is there any advice you would give for a first time traveler. Or would it be best to just pack up, go on an adventure and figure it out! Cheers!!
@@WheelchairWolverine I am not as familiar with the travel experience in the Philippines, since I lived there as a child and did not have things like this in mind at the time. I think wheelchair accessibility would differ from place to place, so it depends. My experience from many years ago is that it was not very accessible to those with wheelchairs, but I believe in larger cities many hotels are mindful of this. But perhaps you should ask a local currently!

Be careful though; it is Southeast Asia. I’ve heard stories of tourists in SEA getting scammed by taxi drivers & even police stealing from them/framing them with smuggling drugs. I’ve just heard news the other day that some tourists got framed by Thai police, and my friend got framed by Philippine airport staff 2 years ago. Also traffic is terrible & transport is generally inefficient.
Not saying these are bad countries you shouldnt go to, just keep in mind these are still developing countries.

FYI the Philippines is one of the first countries in Asia to be Westernized since the late 1800, the only Catholic country in Asia. The Philippines has some of the biggest malls in the world, the number one texting country in the world and you can find anything you want in the big cities. It has the oldest Catholic University in Asia built in the 1600. There are many other countries and some States in the US that are worse than the Philippines when it comes to safety.
My wife is from the Philippines, after all these years ignored and she forced me to go there finally after all these years. The only problem is the 20-hour flight from NY, but it is worth every second of the trips. I regret why I didn't go before absolutely paradise now going back May 2024 back again, and this time, I'm in charge and bringing back more friends to have more fun I highly recommend any one to must go please and thanks for you to showing Philippines to the World

Philippines is true a magical place in the world.
I was in El Nido last December, Visiting the Small Lagoon, once you get inside, you can really feel like you just entered a different world. Really magical.
I didn't expect the real life of the locals to be like that, no matter what, they live on the most beautiful island in the world!
Those houses floating on the sea are so cool, dining there at night is definitely one of the most memorable experiences of a lifetime!

I was in El Nido and Manila last year. El Nido truly is incredibly beautiful, and so many of the the Filipinos I met were absolutely lovely people. They were as much a highlight of my trip as were the beautiful visuals.
Tubataha coral gardens also in Palawan is full of marine life and corals. Philippines is truly a paradise both land and sea. The most friendliest and happy people. It is the most beautiful country on the planet!

Been to Philippines last year, indeed is an amazing country, love Palawan. If in El Nido I recommend going for drinks and meals at Happiness Beach Bar (the staff, food, drinks was the best👍) I have one bad thing to say about the Philippines. Is the only country in the world where you will experience traffic jams on the road, water and air! I couldn’t imagine that! Internal fights have delays due to high traffic, when in El Nido doing the islands hoping, we had nowhere to “park” the boat as the beaches were crowded. At the beginning I it was frustrating but if you spend more time there you’ll get use to it and won’t be paying attention anymore.
Other than that…I actually fell in love with Philippines and I’ll be going back pretty soon
Next time, maybe try the less touristy places like Bantayan Island and Calaguas Island where you can have almost the entire beach all to yourself.

I used to watch some of the foreign vlogger goes here in the Philippines to see the beauty of the islands & the mountains. Experience the culture & enjoy different delicacies Philippines has to offer they come & go. But i notice ur the only one so far i recognize that u interact w/ the locals and get to know how they live their life. And u show genuine compassion and give a token of appreciation by giving them financial support which is truly admirable whether its big or small kind of help we filipinos would appreciate it. That's how we Filipinos are helping each other, what I liked about my country the Philippines was no matter how hard work and life are,as long as you go home you will see your wife and children happy and nephews in one house your tiredness will disappear, I don't have a wife and children's but I found out from my parents, similar to jason's story , we are six siblings and nephews who live with us because they need help and education, my parents also sent my nephews to school, that's why my parents said to my nephews, I will not ask for anything in return,the only thing I will ask for in exchange for you is that you finish school ❤️ so I say to myself there are really good people in this world like my parents and this vlogger Brett conti and Jason and also to your fiance? Or girlfriend. We are all beautiful just like this beautiful island el nido😀

Philippines is a truly magical paradise
The Philippines is so beautiful and most of the foreigners were saying that it is very cheap there. But for us, locals can't easily go to these beautiful places coz it is expensive for us. I, myself have not tried to visit these places yet. That is the saddest part.

First time watching you. Glad that PH is your favorite country! You're so right that our country is so diverse. It's not just beaches and dive sites (though we did win World's Leading Beach Destination and Dive Destination for 2022 at the World Travel Awards). Like go up north to Baguio and it will feel like it's in another country with the pine trees and cold temperatures. Go to Zambales (Lake Mapanuepe) and it will look like you're in New Zealand. Go to Batanes and it will look like you're in Scotland, And we also have amazing man-made wonders like the Banaue Rice Terraces which is a UNESCO World Heritage Site. The list is endless! And not to forget our year round festivals too like Sinulog, Ati-atihan, Panagbenga, Pahiyas, and lots more. It's truly more fun in the Philippines! 🇵🇭
