This TRABAHO episode is a very special one for me! Growing up in the Philippines since 2009, I always dreamed of climbing a tall buko tree; and now, 15 years later, that dream finally came true. 🥹
In this episode, I didn’t just do one job-From climbing trees to delivering, preparing and selling buko, I got to experience firsthand the hard work magbubukos put in every day.

I'm always skeptical talaga when it comes to foreign vloggers promoting the Philippines cos most of them only fish for views. But Jessica doing things that most Filipinos won't and can't even do is a proof that she really loves the country. Gulat talaga ako nung mangingisda episode because as a Filipino, as someone na lumaking probinsya, kahit ako di ko kakayanin sumisid sa manila bay but she did it. She really is a genuine one.

I would not cinsider her foreign vlogger. She grew up in the Philippines and she has been vlogging the love of PI for a very long long time.
I really appreciate the owner's concern for Jessica, she knows how dangerous it is and is not willing to risk Jessica's safety just for content.
Kudos to Jessica as well as she listened to her despite her strong desire to not use the harness.

I was worried when I saw the thumbnail cause it takes a lot of strength to climb a buko tree and trying it for the first time can cause injury and body pain but I'm glad to know that she prepared herself by taking wall climbing classes.
Definitely takes alot of upper body strength to help yourself pull up.

Instead of making us climb buko trees, which every Filipino child in Tagaytay or Zamboanga Peninsula can do, we would like Jessica to show us the best crêperies, the best bakeries, the best florists and the sad fire in Tondo, make us listen to the most-played songs in the Philippines, and make us remember the best Filipino movies, like "Isusumbong Kita sa Tatay Ko" with the unforgettable Fernando Poe Jr., because foreign tourists need to learn how to discover, respect and love this extraordinary country.

The image of someone climbing a coconut tree has always been an uneasy one for me. I was about eight years old when my father attempted the climb on a dare...drunk. Unfortunately, he fell and was paralyzed the rest of his days. That decision altered the course of his life and those around him, especially my mom, younger brother, and myself. Long story short, my mom became the breadwinner, and we ended up moving to the States in search of a better future.
I've always wondered what our lives would've been like had we stayed in the Philippines close to our lolos and lolas, titos and titas, pinsans and friends...if we had only stayed Home.
I just want to say a heartfelt thank you for changing that image, Jess. You showed that climbing these trees can be challenging yet rewarding, but above all else, that it can be done safely. I was relieved when they made you wear the safety harness 🥹 Thank you for bringing to light the hardworking Filipinos that do this job everyday, and all the other jobs you've showcased in your Trabaho series. The Taho vendor and Farmer episodes being amazing standouts that made me a fan. That was a couple of years back when I ran into your channel. If there was a purpose why I stayed a viewer all this time...well, I think it was for this very reason. Maraming salamat. 정말 고마워요.

No other vlogger has thought of doing this. I’ve watched all the Trabaho episodes, and my top favorites are the mangingisda episode and this one. Both jobs are incredibly dangerous, yet Jessica managed to pull them off brilliantly. It’s clear that Jessica doesn’t do this just for the views-her love for Filipino culture is genuine and heartfelt. While I know you won’t stop taking on risky jobs, please prioritize your safety above all else. Always think about how your actions might impact your well-being and career. That said, kudos to Jessica and the team for taking such good care of her.

When I saw this I realized that u are capable of doing it because u have been climbing for months and kudos to you, to the team and also sa ate buyer at Kay kuya for assisting u at pag insist talaga to do the harness for ur safety kasi mahirap talaga yan kahit kami may farm na buko never ako nag try na mag akyat din talaga hehe hanggang hakot tsaka, pag biak nang buko, lugit, bilad sa araw etc.
