@@SusanKing-g3ktry telling that to some of the local police departments in the south. They don't seem to be aware the statute of limitations doesn't exist with sex crimes.
They say a big reason that predators get a statute of limitations and short sentences in prison in the U.S. is because the government doesn't want them to kill their victims to stop them from talking. At least that's what the government claims but, in my opinion, I think they just don't care or think it's that big of a deal.
I love that! I am a survivor of the Archdiocese of Kansas City-St. Joseph. Even typing that feels like a threat to myself. Because the US is so fucked up, that we still burn witches. The worst part of the scandal is these men were COUNSELED into the priesthood, when confessing their sins or desires as parishioners. It's akin to law enforcement giving violent criminals a diversion charge, if they join the military, thereby going abroad to commit crimes that are classed as war crimes. Killing in the Name of....
You have a divine spirit that is the seat of your very being which animates you and all living things. There is a good God who you will return to and at which point your experiences will be put into perspective. For the overwhelmimg majority of souls who have manifest on this planet, life =suffering and so I truly believe that is for a reason, and that those with the most painful experiences will have gained far more insight and understanding into this life and method of victory over the enemy than the trivial, and hedonistic. You will be among the mightiest and most couragous warriors in Gods army, fearing no evil and bringing hope and strength to those weaker lights when you transition
@@AS-gz8oegross, we should not have to go through abuse at the hands of religious leaders in order to be “God‘s strongest warriors“ that is ridiculous. I’m speaking as a survivor of abuse, my abuse does not define me nor does it give me strength.
@@lmnlstes You missed the point _entirely._ Let's make it less personal and see if you can grasp the concept, even if you don't agree. Ever heard of "the hero's journey"? Someone starts out weak or average, but by going through trials and tribulations, they become stronger, until by the end of the story, they're a mighty warrior. That is not glorifying their suffering, but showing that people can become stronger through trials. Conceptually, it's how kids who were bullied as children grow up to be thick-skinned adults who don't cry at the drop of a hat. The abuse you suffered doesn't define you, but _you persevering_ is what gave you strength. Get it?
But that does sound like an excuse to continue to believe in a good god even after facing trauma from his church. The hero's journey doesn't need to be put in perspective, they choose to embark on a journey, they get changed. Your example is telling, the bullied person who has trouble expressing their suffering is not better than someone who cries when suffering, it's what you do about it that's important, and that comes from how others support you in those moments.
Josh…as an 88 year old woman, the sexual abuse I endured as a young child and you are so right. It NEVER leaves you. Your soul is deeply scared. Keep up this kind of information to people because even psychiatrist don’t get what you have explained in a night club to a group in a comedy club. You get it. Keep it up. Just listening to you I felt more justice than I ever did. You get it.
Your soul is deeply scared:you put into words perfectly what a profound horrible trauma does to you,and you’re right, psychiatrists don’t get it Much love to you ❤
Josh has an awesome plan for world domination. He has consistently produced excellent content twice a week, and recently started promoting his tour. And now has an opening sequence on his newer stuff that just cracks me up. His timing is impeccable, and he manages to address serious societal issues and then add a punch line that makes us see just how ridiculous the world is. I am in awe.
One of the things I love best about Josh Johnson's comedy is that he's not afraid to go long stretches of his shows discussing heavy stuff that's meant to be the least funny stuff in the world. There's always a punchline, and that's great, but the way he lets us sit with the dark and the discomfort is very brave and very bold.
Since losing faith in the church, one of the thing I miss are the homilies (sermons). A good faith leader delivers a weekly sermon that is relevant to the world we live in and masterfully weaved a scriptural reference in that taught morality. Josh Johnson helps fills that void for me.
I understand what you are saying. I still listen to Contemporary Gospel music. I actually have a Spotify playlist named Soothe The Soul. I Love your comment . I’m glad his comedy feels that void for you.
"If your toilet is broken, you get it out the house. You don't move it to another families house." That is a damn good one and applies to so much. Thank you for your nuggets of Wisdom.
The Catholic Church’s net worth is pinned as supposedly being worth around 73 billion dollars. It was a drop in the bucket for them. Median net worth in America is 121k, so it would be like your average American family getting a fine of under $1,500, or around the same as a first offense DUI.
"It's supposed to be the safest place in the world. It is the place where you lay all your burdens down, not pick up extra ones."You hit the nail on the head.
It’s just a drop in the ocean when it comes to how rich the organisation is. Like any other big corporation - you only get there by stepping on the little guy on the way up.
Who hasn't been harmed by religion? All of society has been harmed by the lies of religious people. That's what happens when people lie and make claims they can't back up. Even @hallaifyouhearme501 choose to answer your pain with a lie they can't show to be true.
I hope you find the grace to move past what has harmed you and find peace. It's difficult enough having to suffer harm from anyone, but when it comes from people who are supposed to have our best interest at heart, it cuts that much deeper because it's so confusing.
Good god, yes. I saw a documentary about a priest in a poor very Catholic South American country (Peru, I think) who was still getting away with sexually abusing children. It was a couple of years ago, I don’t remember the details very well but was surprised that the same old same old was still going on. No efforts to end this behavior without the threat prosecution.
Darling, forget about poorer countries. Look at Canada. Not only did we subject our Indigenous peoples to dragging their children to the residential schools, we had the Sixties Scoop. In CANADA!
It was all done here long ago as well. No one gave a crap what happened to inuit children in the US or Canada. They dug up a mass grave recently. You can be sure these poor countries get the worst of the worst.
This is true, a priest my sister worked for turned out to be a creeper, fled to the Phillipines where he came from was eventually defrocked, but wonder how many folks thought "Father" just moved home
It crushed my soul when I found out what happened to the altar boys who were in my class in Catholic school. I am no longer a Catholic. Now I see this same behavior among evangelicals. 😢
I'm writing a PhD dissertation about sexual abuse survivors in the Mormon church (I grew up in the church but I've been exmo for 10+ years). The whole part of this video talking about the Catholic church could be said about the Mormon church, too. The questions are things that I've questioned and things I'm trying to answer. This hit me so hard today and I can't thank Josh enough for this very real reaction and for his thoughts on the situation. I also very much want to believe it's all true so that I can feel good knowing there's a hell. I've interviewed survivors where I've heard the worst things I've ever heard in my life. Worse than any documentary I've seen. "What is the truth told by a liar?" It's abuse. It's power. It's evil. And it's so much more than I any words I can express. I hope any assault survivors seeing this can find new power and peace. ❤
I totally agree. It's the silence that let them get away with it for so long. Time to shine a light on it and expose it for what it is. I live in Boston where the story broke. I remember Cardinal Law well. Those letters.... how he could ignore them I will never know.
"Surely the hypocrites are in the lowest stage of the fire and you shall not find a helper for them" [Quran 4:145]. Justice will always be served, Always👍
How could you still be Catholic? Their raping kids, but not lying? Why would you trust them? "Well they rape kids but they tell the truth about morality and how the world works." Or maybe they lied about those things, I mean considering they're rapists. You know they raped, but you couldn't imagine them lying? How can you trust what they say? About ANYTHING?! Or even just how easily they used Catholicism to hide their evil. Shouldn't something that's perfect not be able to be used to rape people. Oh and thanks for believing that I deserve to be tortured for ever. That's very loving of you. I personally think torture is evil, no exceptions, but you actually believe that I truly deserve to be tortured forever, and then you have the audacity to pretend to be a good person. Torture is bad. Just because "God" condones it doesn't change that. Torture is purely evil. So either God is either stupid and can't tell that torture is evil or he is evil because he enjoys knowing that people are being tortured for not worshipping him. Either way not worth worshipping. I would never have you be tortured for anything you do. Even if you're a murderer or a pedophile (the catholic church is both) I wouldn't torture you. Because torture is evil, serve no purpose and helps noone. I would just kill you and be done with it. But why would I torture you?! Unless their is something wrong with me. That I enjoy having the knowledge that people are being tortured because i said so. That's SUPER fucked up. That's your God. He has chosen that I will be tortured forever just because I refuse to worship people who torture people? But a rapist can be in heaven as long has he worships you? I'm a pretty good guy. Very traditional when it comes to my relationships. I try to make the world a better place for the people around me. But I deserve to be tortured because I refused to worship a torturer. I hate Christianity. It makes people dumber and more evil than they would be without it.
Kind of off the main subject, but when my boys were toddlers they would always run up to black grandmas in public for comfort if they didn't immediately see me( we r white) and for the longest we couldn't figure it out until we were playing in our yard at a party with all our neighbors and realized the very sweet older black woman two doors down, who they had known since we came home from hospital was someone we saw practically every day😂never even occurred to us till it was rt in front of us❤
Hahahaha!!!! I remember my son’s “first black person” where he noticed a difference in appearance . My son thought he (my brother in law) was chocolate. Then got VERY upset my BIL was called “black” because “he’s NOT black- he’s chocolate!” Which was what he called “brown” for about a year… I LOVE an innocent 3 year old…
My parents were massive racists and I was isolated in a cult. From about age 10 I got out in public a bit more, but we lived in a mostly white area. Then we moved to an even whiter area. It wasn't until I was 13 that I saw a non-white person, not even in media or anything prior to that. Which was WAY too old. People don't think it's cute when you're 13, it turns out.
@@matgonzalez6272Oh my! I lived in New Mexico. I didn’t see a black person until I was a junior in high school. She was so great. Our entire school would have walked over hot coals if she had asked.
My kid was calling other kids chocolate in daycare. I thought it was used to describe Black children until she pointed out a White child was chocolate. I was really confused until I realized because she thought chocolate was so good, that’s what she was using to describe good kids. The bad kids “were not chocolate”.
I was raised by a mom who was severely abused by her mother and was told that she could do whatever she wanted to my mom and then as long as she went to church every sunday and would ask god for forgiveness each week then that meant that she could continue to abuse my mom without consequence and because of my mom being told this for a good portion of her childhood she would always tell us that she would never take a step into any churches because she believed that they were all just scams and would not bring her or any of her family into one at all which i have to say as a person who knows all the abuse that my grandmother put her through i would have probably felt the exact same way about it but then to know that this type of abuse happens regularly in these types of places is so sickening and they try to call these places "churches" or "places of God" well im pretty sure if you have this sick depraved action that you act out on a child then there is no part of any of that has anything to do with God in any way it is straight from satan only

Bedwetting can be a sign of stress as well. My mom was in a bad way for a while and I was really afraid for her and during that time I wet the bed regularly. I was 18/19 at the time. That being said, D’Marvin is unhinged.
One of the mothers I know was hitting the child because they couldnt do pot training so the girl was wetting the bed constantly. These things seriously have a lot of effect on children. I also had wetting issue but it turns out one of my kidneys was smaller than the other and was causing issues. So it could caused by medical issues too.
I once wet the bed at age 14, the first night I slept at a pen-pal's house in a foreign country. Intellectually, I knew I was perfectly safe there, but the mother made me feel uncomfortable the entire time. So when I woke up that first morning and discovered the wet bedsheet, I used a towel to dry the sheet instead of revealing what had happened. I must have been under more stress than I realized.
I applaud your interpretation and expression of what's it's like for survivors to navigate the world while silently bearing the weight and shame of what others did to us. You are brave and I thank God for you.
I have no idea how Josh always manages to guide the audience, both live and online, from a joke like 'I was this baby's first black person' into a deep and meaningful thought piece on something that matters without losing you at all. Man's just that good.
Yes! I was thinking that, too! He can make a room roar in laughter, then 3 minutes later, complete silence, where we are hanging on to every word. Then back to thunderous sounds from laughter again. Talent!
My wife's father went to seminary school when he was young, dropped out and became an athiest. He never explained to anyone why. There had to have been some severe hurt to do that kind of about face.
I was abused at church. Not the Catholic church - but it was a religious institution/cult that did all the same things. My childhood was hell, and it's so hard now to reconcile the fact that faith in God is the only reason I survived with the fact thar everyone I knew abused me in the name of God. Josh is right - I do need that belief in hell. I need to have hope for justice, and if that leads to people calling me a judgmental Christian (which it has) so be it.
Does it not hold you back from action? I used to believe in hell as a child when I was suffering because of another person and because I was taught that belief as a child. To me later in life seemed like the religious people sometimes were then the ones who gave up earlier, who prayed instead of doing something substantial like donating money to rganisations who do something. I mean you decide what works for you, but for me it looks like a vicious cycle. My revenge now is contentment and peace in my self, as far as I can feel it. I do not want to give them anymore of my time and energy, it is enough. I have a life to live. I rather do that. Still in psychotherapy, I‘m doing well.
@@nanashipersonne4151 Not for me, no. I do get what you mean. I have some older relatives who would rather let go and let God than do anything substantial. For me, I would be too depressed to even think about doing anything if I didn't have hope for justice in the end. I can't fix everything, so it's either feel guilty for not being able to solve all the world's problems or do what I can and try to find peace with the fact I can't do it all and some people will never face their crimes on earth. I'm currently lobbying my country's government for more regulation on homeschooling, for example (had a meeting with education spokesperson today, and will be contacted by a journalist this week). Every day I think about the hundreds of homeschooled kids I grew up with who were abused, neglected, died, ended up in abusive relationships, passed on the cycle. I couldn't save them, but I'm doing everything I can now.
Had a very similar experience at that age at a girl sleepover. She was laying on an air mattress in a sleeping bag and she was so embarrassed, and we quietly went to the laundry room, washed her pj’s and the sleeping bag. Talked about boys for the couple of hours. It took for them to go through the washer and dryer. And we never spoke about it again. Maybe girls are just nice like that.

Babies and cats think alike. Josh’s description of the baby’s thought process before knocking the coffee over is very similar to what I imagine cat’s think before deliberately knocking things over. And looking you in the eye while they do it.😸
I had a cat who did this if she wasn’t given attention the moment she demanded it. She’d meow for your attention, lock eyes, put her paw on something and as you raced to stop her, she’d knock it _just_ as you were about to get to it. Spiteful little b**ch. She was my favourite.
"What is the truth taught by a liar? " Wow, let that sink in! Josh nailed it. The Truth will be missing in the US for a long time after yesterday, that's for sure. Keep them coming, Mr. Johnson.
As a survivor the way that you handled this was so graceful. Thank you for sticking up for the people that have no voice. Just love your comedy and love you!
I saw Josh perform in Richmond a few days ago! He did a meet and greet and I was so excited that I made a complete fool of myself but I don't regret it 😂
I met him last Jan at a show in SF and also made a fool of myself flubbing over words 😂 but he was so gracious about it; also no regrets! If anything, it makes for great stories and memories!

Making silly jokes but also explaining Id/ego/superego and breaking down a baby's behaviour through that filter and talking about church corruption... He is putting the work in... I had the photo plaque on my priest uncle's gravestone swapped for one that shows a simple white cross against a black background, and lettering on the cross says "Psalm 25:11". That Psalm is "For the sake of your name O Lord, forgive my guilt, for it is great.". That made me feel a bit better.
That’s an incredible way to deal with that, massive props to you. I’m still torn with how I could ruin the life of my ex-uncle. I have no proof and my older sister who suffered more at his hand took her own life so isn’t around to be my sidekick in crime. She made sure that our police knew but nothing happened. At least is alerted his wife to the accusation and maybe she kept a closer eye on her daughters. Idk.
This was very timely for me. I grew up in a cult and after 28 years of being out I finally reported it, but there was nothing that could be done. But the empathy that you speak about this with really touched me. I love your comedy. Love a fan from Australia
As someone who has been deeply involved in religion all my life, I’ve come to realize around the time of COVID, religion started to feel more controlled & man-made. It became clear to me that I needed to develop a personal connection with God, rather than relying solely on the church to sustain my faith. I believe that’s a common challenge today. While I don’t think there’s anything wrong with religion itself, I do think people tend to place too much trust in religious institutions, which may not be the right approach. Even the Bible says that when two or three gather to discuss the Word, that in itself constitutes a church(Matthew 18:20). This is why it’s crucial to have a personal relationship with God, rather than depending solely on pastors or religious leaders, who, as humans, are fallible. For me, attending church is now more about hearing a brief teaching and study . but I’m no longer a member of any specific church. I’ve found that relying too heavily on the church can sometimes weaken faith, as it shifts the focus from spiritual growth to social structures
Thank you, Josh, for talking about this issue. If we really cared about children and justice, the Catholic Church and its past and present child abuse would be a priority issue in our lives.

He is totally right about the Catholic Church. But I seldom hear people talk about other religions and cults who have been agregious as well. I am Catholic . At one time, I bartended at weddings of a group of people who were another religion than mine. I saw and heard suspicious things that made me realize that , oh, every religious group hurts children. It was an awful awakening. It just makes me sad that when someone says The Church, they mean the Catholic Church. My ex husband never told me he was abused by a priest for about 20 years. Then, one day, he was angry about something and he started yelling all about it as he was bringing our child home from a visit. We were divorced at the time. He was a drug addict and he died of an overdose some years later.😢
The same thing is going on in so many JW congregations. Its horrendous and they move the abuser to another congregation and don't even tell people other than the elders
The congregation I grew up in had a pedo moved to it. Only the elders knew. They allowed this man to marry a young widow with 2 small children. Both of them girls aged 3 and 5. The inevitable happened. This man was put in jail, let out and is in another congregation an hour from here. They knew and did not tell anybody 😭

The same issue is raising havoc in Newfoundland at the moment, where the archdiocese has been hit with a judgment on behalf of boys abused at the Mount Cashel orphanage. Recently the archdiocese listed the parish church at Portugal Cove for sale; parishioners responded by seizing the church, chaining the doors shut, and refusing to allow anyone access. The villagers have made it clear that they have no issue with the Church paying reparations to the Cashel victims; they simply object to their church being sold out from under them while the archdiocese refuses to sell revenue properties and the Vatican sits on its hands.

Seeing Josh's empathy and emotional intelligence is really powerful. I was having an existential crisis as a person in their early 20s and crying at work when the news broke. Knowing the leaders of the religion that was core to my identity would abuse their power in that way and NO ONE did anything about it for decades. All the lies and covering up. Thank you so very much, Josh! Beautifully said. As a practicing Catholic, this is truly how we all feel and should feel. Outraged and wanting justice for the victims of priests in the church, as well as the dioceses that moved them around. From 18 and on when I first became eligible to vote, I registered as a republican, at that time I was a Christian. I stayed registered as a republican until Obama ran for office. I didn't vote for him because he was black but in spite of the hate that being spewed from the pulpit about this man that just happened to be black. The times I heard that he was the anti-christ was ASTOUNDING! The same people telling me to love my enemies, turn the other cheek and encouraging me to display the fruits of the spirit were all hypocrites. I've always known about hypocrisy in the church but to see it displayed in not just my church but churches throughout the nation was astounding. I think that's when my faith in the church took a nosedive. It was after his presidency as well as a lot of things that happened to me personally when I realized that all people, myself included, have the capacity to be horrible. We learn what's right and wrong by the majority. Unfortunately, we now live in a mobile society. Whoever is the loudest in that mobile has the most sway. We are and have been horrible from birth. We are born selfish but it doesn't matter, because we are young. When does that end? Why does it end? Does it ever end? Too much internet tonight.
It will end when we all start to see the world, life, and each other for what it truly is. When we all truly wake up. It’ll happen. It is happening. Slowly, but surely.
Each of us ends it in our own hearts. Not like we’re going to get it right all the time, but we don’t give up on our ability to be better. You’re not horrible, so sounds like you need to start by showing yourself some love and understanding. ❤️🩹

I can’t believe this standup is for free on UA-cam. This guy is a genuine genius and completely lovable as well.
I think this is why so many people believe he'll go down as one of the greats
I agree! And he never once gets uncomfortable or rushes himself. A true pro!!
Excactly! This is one of his best attributes. He’s not only a great comedian, he’s also a superb storyteller, drawing the listener in.

Since losing faith in the church, one of the thing I miss are the homilies (sermons). A good faith leader delivers a weekly sermon that is relevant to the world we live in and masterfully weaved a scriptural reference in that taught morality. Josh Johnson helps fills that void for me.

Consider how much more damage the Catholic Church (and others) have done in poorer countries with weaker public institutions.
In CANADA!
@@ZolaClyde😢
As a Catholic, I just want to thank you for bringing this up. It isn't talked about enough. My heart goes out to everyone affected. ❤❤❤
Not just the Catholic Church either.

Then got VERY upset my BIL was called “black” because “he’s NOT black- he’s chocolate!” Which was what he called “brown” for about a year… I LOVE an innocent 3 year old…
I have to ask because I’m stunned… where do you live that your kid didn’t see a black person til they were 3? 😂
When my sister was little, she had a best friend she called Chocolate Ricky (for the same reason).

Also a sign of sexual abuse
I once wet the bed at age 14, the first night I slept at a pen-pal's house in a foreign country. Intellectually, I knew I was perfectly safe there, but the mother made me feel uncomfortable the entire time. So when I woke up that first morning and discovered the wet bedsheet, I used a towel to dry the sheet instead of revealing what had happened. I must have been under more stress than I realized.

Interesting that those people calling you "judgmental" aren't aware that they're doing exactly what they're accusing you of doing.
I hope you find healing & peace.❤

Exactly

The congregation I grew up in had a pedo moved to it. Only the elders knew. They allowed this man to marry a young widow with 2 small children. Both of them girls aged 3 and 5. The inevitable happened. This man was put in jail, let out and is in another congregation an hour from here.
They knew and did not tell anybody 😭

“What is truth from a liar?” 😵Can I put that in a song? Preach. This was so clever and layered - you are one witty person 👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽
you might like "wide eyes" by a band called badflower - it has basically that exact line and is all about this exact issue
@@idesireahimbo thanks, I’ll check it out!
Doing this in Boston is crazy work and I'm here for it!!! Keep it going, bro, we're proud of you!!! Sending big love from a middle aged black NYer in Italy.
@@elisa_lily I live in Treviglio which hosted the first Pride parade in Lombardy. They would die laughing out here. We clown the Church to the point where priests walk around in civilian clothes like gang members trying not to get arrested.
@@elisa_lily That's awesome!!! And I yes, I miss home. I'm glad you're back home and I hope you're enjoying it. Hope to cross paths with you on these Josh Johnson streets again, my friend. Have a wonderful evening and a great week ahead.
@@elisa_lily Anche a te, carissima. Stai al caldo visto il freddo che fa e la pioggia 🤗
@@elisa_lily Ciao, innanzitutto sono una donna, mio nome deriva da Coco Chanel, ma grazie lo stesso. Buona giornata a te, cara!😘😘😁
I need a WHAT IS THE TRUTH TAUGHT BY A LIAR shirt now!
I just love the direction in which brilliant comedians like Josh Johnson, Ali Siddiq and Marlon Wayans are pushing stand-up comedy these days.
Please always and forever be and remain as absolutely cool as you seem.
I’ve been the “One Black Friend” I’m not anymore and couldn’t be more happier! Also, glad to see the Catholic Church pay out the survivors but sad that those involved aren’t in prison or worse.
Josh Johnson is brilliant and hilarious. The way he brings a topic to the forefront is amazing.
"What's the truth taught by a liar" is insaaane. 💯
23:31 "What is the truth taught by a liar"
Such a good point for all of life.
That hit me in my bones. Absolutely excellent phrase
my life exactly. dad is super religious. gotta cut any tie with him. been called names by people who don't know half the story.
" that if even evil ppl can be used for good, with out thier knowledge or will. That your knowledge of your own evil paired with your will to improve your virtue if fast leaving you without excuse or recourse. Step 2: how's your fortitude these days?
PS Welcome to Madison, WI. Don't forget to try the mixed cheddar deep fried cheese curds.
I was taught that the truth of God is like the sunlight shining down. And these monstrous priests were the dirty stain glass window pane. The light still shines through and it doesn’t take away from the nature of the light. It’s the window plane that needs to be smashed and replaced.
I adore your ability to speak truth strongly, and the audience laughs in agreement. 🎉
I applaud you Josh. Thank you for not only giving us the best comedy, but also for taking time to talk about serious issues.
I have never regretted listening to your thoughtful considerations
Josh is basically one of my main weekly podcasts now. I can’t name a more prolific comedian content wise. Keep it up, you’ve got an Aussie fan for life
22:30 "dangling those keys over someone else to keep their silence" Bro so succinct!
When he said that I felt it 😢
My voice on the intro made the edit. This is my biggest credit. 🎉
Congrats to you, and your cow (unless you are the animal in question, in which case, props on the human impression). 😊
I was in seminary. This was one of the main reasons I decided against pursuing the priesthood and eventually left the Catholic Church altogether. As you said, what is the truth taught by a liar?? 😢😢
Such a great balance of raising awareness & raising spirits!! 🤗 I love & appreciate ya, Josh!!! 🙏❤️🔥🤟
The amount of material this cat creates is crazy!
“What is the truth taught by a liar” is one of the hardest lines I’ve ever heard, I will never forget it
Josh Johnson wow, you just keep getting better and better, so relaxed, effortless, subversive in a palatable way for the masses. Genius Stuff! You're practically a preacher at this point, I could listen to you talk all day. Stay blessed! Watching you grow and be a voice for our generation is a treat indeed. Wish you were on my lands. When is your world tour?! Xx
Thank you for being brave and speaking up for the sexually abused...this is so painful to hear, yet therapeutic. My abusers are all dead, #BUTISTILLHURT!
"What is the truth taught by a liar?" 24:02. That is some knowledge.
Straight up philosophical. So well said. 🙌
I was just about to get on here and say that same thing!!! That was a BAR!!!❤
He drops really deep stuff regularly.
I just wrote it down after pausing to find a pen.
Kudos; absolutely amazing set!
Wow! Thank you so much friend. I appreciate this so much
This one really was amazing, as someone who grew up with a ton of religious trauma that gets the ick whenever religion is brought up, I really appreciated this one.
Thank for for thinking deeply about the harm done. You seem to care about people.
I enjoy your blend of seriousness and humor.
As a catholic, I wish I had this video and comment section back in 2018 when story of 300+ Pennsylvania priests abusing kids came out...
It was just too much to learn at the time
“What IS the Truth- taught by a liar?” That is a chasm that may never be crossed. What a burden for the victim. What a cross to carry. Equilibrium requires Justice to maintain balance.☝🏾☮️☯️⚖️🗡️
The Truth that a Liar is telling is a Tool for misdirection since the Best of of Cons relies on a Truth to be the tipping point of snaring you into the Lie and make you fall for it.
Justice is only able to make an approximation of Balance between deeds done and following judgment. It always comes after the effect and it never is able to balance out the injustice that has occured.
Be healthy
Homeless People: You're telling me you had $880 million dollars... Just laying around? 😐
That's kinda crazy, a company that sells hope and wishes has enough money to make those wishes come true but the monsters who run this company would rather line their pockets instead of their job, so as they claim.
You, my friend, are a genius. You bring me to tears as well as to laughter. THANK YOU. Blessings on you!
I met my first white person when i was 6. He was a visiting preacher passing through my village in Punta Cana in 1976. I remember being so shocked. He looked so unreal and washed out standing next to everyone present. Unforgettable.😮
If anyone knows of DeMarvin’s whereabouts, please call one of those local tip lines for missing people. Word will get around.
No fr 😂❤🎯
Josh: I dunno where DaMarvin is now...
My inner voice (IMMEDIATELY): 🗣ARKHAM
Well. My immediate first thought was Wall Street.
@@KutluMizrak 🤭😬😖.
just reiterating something so many others have noted: what a relief it is to have your voice in this world, josh. you enlighten and uplift with such graciousness and generosity. cheers to you 🥂
The delivery of that last bit about the Catholic Church is why I love your comedy and why your style is winning right now. Heavy and thought provoking yet funny.
I have heard it said that the stairway to hell is lined with the skulls of priests.
Good set Josh. Love how your brain works. You’re intelligent and savvy. You bring home what’s real, and even when painful, get us thinking deeply while laughing. That’s a true feat! THANK YOU!
And nuns and aborted fetuses... Cos it never goes how it's suppose to when u put men and women of the cloth in the same vicinity of each other. Especially when most of them r heterosexual. Not even the lesbians get ignored... Idk why they bothered making up all these rules when they must have had an idea that more than half of those will be broken and twisted anyway.
Thank you so very much, Josh! Beautifully said. As a practicing Catholic, this is truly how we all feel and should feel. Outraged and wanting justice for the victims of priests in the church, as well as the dioceses that moved them around. This has to continue to be remembered and reflected on so we don’t repeat it and support who has been directly impacted. As the body, we’re all affected by this insidious trauma and mistreatment people and their trust.
♥️
Each of us ends it in our own hearts. Not like we’re going to get it right all the time, but we don’t give up on our ability to be better. You’re not horrible, so sounds like you need to start by showing yourself some love and understanding. ❤️🩹
