What's great about Josh (and I'm far from the first one to say it) is that this is only about 70% comedy and jokes. The remainder is like a lecture or a speech or a TED talk or monologue from a film - there's compelling self-reflection, pregnant pauses, and introspection - and you don't really get that ratio with any other English-speaking comics in the popular circuit. Coming from someone who lectures and speaks for a living, Josh is really a special one.

Jake loves boxing but he will never again fight a boxer his age. He learned he can't handle that which was why he immediately called out a retired MMA fighter Diaz because that was an easier fight to feed his ego. Then he went after a boxer who was inactive for 2 years and 8 yrs his senior to put some legitimacy into his name and won because that boxer was inactive for 2 yrs. Then he targeted a Brazilian jiu jitsu guy to fight him in a boxing match because he knew a grappler can't box. Another win to feed his ego. He loves boxing. Boxing old men and retired nonboxers. He doesn't like boxing young guys his age. He's 27 but can't handle 20 some yrs olds.

Totally agree. First time I saw him was a few years ago in a stand-up video on here, taken in a club, talking about catfishing the "triple k" (not sure if writing it properly will get my comment deleted). The storytelling was sublime, especially from someone so young. And his comedic timing was impeccable. There were reminders of other comedians who are clearly influences, but he was mix of them, with something extra special thrown in - he was very much "Josh Johnson", rather than "the new Dave Chapelle", for example.
I knew then he was one to watch and really hoped to see him keep pushing and not give up, because he has "it". He was good back then, but as he hones his skills, he's just getting better and better. I strongly believe that he has what it takes to be one of the greats, and it's pretty special to be able to witness that.
Not many American comedians translate well to a global audience, but Josh does. Here in the UK, I have friends into all types of comedy - but we can all agree when it comes to watching Josh. I'm looking forward to seeing just how far he can go and what he can accomplish. He seems genuine and deserves every success 🇬🇧💕🇺🇸

I've never seen someone so consistently hilarious, nevermind that in a world of comics practicing an hour for 2 years, he's doing new material seemingly every night?! On top of all of that he never makes jokes punching down, and seems not only to be wise beyond his years, but kind, empathic, genuine, and authentic. I never get to be a fan these days, but I'm a proud early fan of Josh Johnson- I hope he keeps going! I’m seriously worried for the other guy. It seems the other guy has no clue what he’s getting himself into. No Clue! He is going to get seriously injured.

From now on, I want all biographies to be delivered by Josh Jonhson.

Hadn't planned to watch it until seeing this. Netflix should give you a free year !

I legit can’t wait for a Josh Johnson drop every week. We’ve never been blessed with a comedic presence like this. The talent it takes to make something this funny and current every week is crazy!! ❤

Absolutely love your social commentary comedy. Dave Chappell is my ALL TIME favorite, but I’m seeing a lot of similarities here. You’re quickly becoming my favorite comedian of this generation. Keep killing it! 👊🏾🙌🏾
And for what it’s worth, my spouse used to manage an IMPROV so I saw pretty much every comedian on the circuit for years, haven’t seen one as funny as you. Wishing you continued success!

I remember, in the late 80s, my dad and his friends paid, like, 40 bucks, to see the match between Mike Tyson vs. Michael Spinks on Pay-Per-View and, I know all of them were pissed, because they had set up for a full party; they had the wings, the popcorn, the beer, the steaks, the ribs, EVERYTHING. Spinks was down in the first round, in 1 minutes and 35 seconds, 😆😆😆!

Appreciate the good description- not everyone who posts on UA-cam takes the time to provide context. 💐🍀🥊💐
