Yeah, bc Josh is genuinely funny and a writer. Unfortunately far too many heavily platformed, msm supported “comedians” are just content-pirating wannabes.
People forget the only reason Brad Pitt is alive today (after having an affair with Tyson’s ex wife) is because Mike Tyson said he was too pretty to kill. 😅
He's almost 60 years old. It's not a bar fight, it's boxing. He hasnt had a pro sanctioned fight in nearly 20 years and he was done by then. He's feeding off the name and nostalgia of casual boxing fans
One thing that I really like about Josh is that he explains things and doesn’t assume that everyone knows something or has heard about something. “If you haven’t heard/seen/know about…”.
…….we all remember the way Tyson’s voice got real quiet and he told the interviewer “you have to go”. He asked him about his daughter I think? And after he’s breaking down crying…. You have to go now… Scariest video I’ve ever seen.
The thing that makes Josh standup so captivating is because it doesn’t feel like he’s trying to make you laugh, it just feels like a great conversation with an intelligent funny ass person😂
Have you ever seen viral videos of teenagers harassing old men on buses and the old men lay them flat with one punch? This fight is going to be a lot like that
I'm a simple person. I hear Logan Paul's mentally defective organ-donor clone Jake (AKA "Bitch Logan") is going to be ritually sacrificed to Khorne, the God of Skulls by Mike Tyson, I want to watch. The famous line about fighting Tyson is "Everybody has plans on how to fight Mike... then he punches them in the mouth."
If he loses, he lost to a 58-year-old retired boxer who hasn't fought professionally in 2 decades. If he wins, he beat up a 58-year-old retired boxer who hasn't fought professionally in 2 decades. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

He fought one actual boxer that was his age and got his ass kicked. After that he switched the business model up to retirees, people who's specialty isn't boxing and people willing to take a dive. At this point Jake Paul would box Tanya Harding.
josh's comedy feels like a current events lesson but with comic relief, i love it! i like to imagine someone in the future watching these back to get a feel for the times
What's wild about Tyson is that he was absolutely terrified every time he entered the ring. He has said on interviews that he used to get so scared and nauseuous before fights that hed try to find ways to quit before the entrance. Yet when the ring bell rung and the fight started, he was the most terrifying fighter in history.
What's great about Josh (and I'm far from the first one to say it) is that this is only about 70% comedy and jokes. The remainder is like a lecture or a speech or a TED talk or monologue from a film - there's compelling self-reflection, pregnant pauses, and introspection - and you don't really get that ratio with any other English-speaking comics in the popular circuit. Coming from someone who lectures and speaks for a living, Josh is really a special one.
He's been a writer for a great show since a tender age. He's coming into his own in front of the camera. Very good observational writer and skilled satirist.
This is why I made sure to show Josh to my partner and my family, that he has a lot of insightful commentary on top of great comedy. I don't often agree with Josh's point of view, but I very much appreciate the way he communicates it.
This guy is a true talent. Who else can hold a crowd without yelling, hating. No physical humor, no shock ya moments...just deeply intellectual story tell8ng that is really only mildly humorous and yet I could listen to him on the radio for hours. He's amazing.
Jake loves boxing but he will never again fight a boxer his age. He learned he can't handle that which was why he immediately called out a retired MMA fighter Diaz because that was an easier fight to feed his ego. Then he went after a boxer who was inactive for 2 years and 8 yrs his senior to put some legitimacy into his name and won because that boxer was inactive for 2 yrs. Then he targeted a Brazilian jiu jitsu guy to fight him in a boxing match because he knew a grappler can't box. Another win to feed his ego. He loves boxing. Boxing old men and retired nonboxers. He doesn't like boxing young guys his age. He's 27 but can't handle 20 some yrs olds.
Dad paid $19.99 to watch Mike Tyson fight. He got his beer. Sat down. The fight starts. Then it’s over. Back in the day $19.99 for a TV fight was like paying $99.99 today. He was so mad. He said he could just let us feel like we were getting a show!

Totally agree. First time I saw him was a few years ago in a stand-up video on here, taken in a club, talking about catfishing the "triple k" (not sure if writing it properly will get my comment deleted). The storytelling was sublime, especially from someone so young. And his comedic timing was impeccable. There were reminders of other comedians who are clearly influences, but he was mix of them, with something extra special thrown in - he was very much "Josh Johnson", rather than "the new Dave Chapelle", for example. I knew then he was one to watch and really hoped to see him keep pushing and not give up, because he has "it". He was good back then, but as he hones his skills, he's just getting better and better. I strongly believe that he has what it takes to be one of the greats, and it's pretty special to be able to witness that. Not many American comedians translate well to a global audience, but Josh does. Here in the UK, I have friends into all types of comedy - but we can all agree when it comes to watching Josh. I'm looking forward to seeing just how far he can go and what he can accomplish. He seems genuine and deserves every success 🇬🇧💕🇺🇸
I don't know if he was joking or not, but in an interview well after the fact when asked about why he bit Holyfield's ear, Tyson responded that he knew he couldn't get to Holyfield's throat.

Your various body parts telling you “don’t stack us up right now” to stop you from standing up is one of the wildest and most brilliant things I’ve heard to date.
@JoshJohnsonComedy - You’re building a body of work that’s put you in a rarified category of artists. Saw you in Pittsburgh last month, and I was floored that you stuck around to greet everyone walking out of your show. I know that seems small to some, but that’s such a classy move for someone on your level, and again, rare. So cool to have met you. Thanks for sharing your gifts! All the best to you!
When i first started following Josh Johnsons career i couldn't find enough to watch. I was starved for content back then. Now I'm fed so frequently i can't keep up
Josh Johnson is for sure one of if not the greatest comedians of our time... I've never seen someone so consistently hilarious, nevermind that in a world of comics practicing an hour for 2 years, he's doing new material seemingly every night?! On top of all of that he never makes jokes punching down, and seems not only to be wise beyond his years, but kind, empathic, genuine, and authentic. I never get to be a fan these days, but I'm a proud early fan of Josh Johnson- I hope he keeps going! I missed him in Minneapolis on the 10th sadly but if he keeps this pace up he'll be a global force in no time!
I really admire the way you insert history and social teachings into your sets so seamlessly while joking about current events, Josh. ❤ You put much intention into your work every day.
How the heck is Josh consistently this funny every 3 to 5 days with new material? Most comics have to try out the new stuff to see what work. Josh just talks and it always works. The tone and delivery is audiobook level quality. It’s crazy.
Don’t believe it’s true. That would be way too below the belt even by Jake’s standards. Looked online for the comment and all I found were other people talking about it. And not very convincingly.
The title to this video doesn't do it justice. This is an amazing love letter to Tyson from someone who wasn't even there. This needs to be seen by everyone.
I thought the punchline to "Jake Paul believes that in a way, boxing has saved him" line was going to be "from everything but Mike Tyson.". I fervently hope that for that one 45 minute window, God revitalizes Mike Tyson back into being the man who was genuinely the "baddest man on the planet". Just imagine being in that ring, and the bell rings, and before your eyes you see in Mike's movement and body language that he's not the jovial 58 year old man who was signing contracts and doing interviews, he's heavyweight world champion Mike Tyson.
OK. I had to pause this vid to comment. I will admit, always have, that I am not a fan of the "sport" of boxing/ring fighting/wrestling. I don't feel that it's fun or exciting to watch two people punching the shit out of each other. IMO. However, listening to Josh weave this tale about Tyson... it is spellbinding! I could listen to him talk about ANYTHING! His voice is mesmerising & he is an amazing story teller, a top tier orator. Josh Johnson is a gem. We are lucky to have him. Now, back to the show.
I'm telling you, this cat is different. Intelligent use of reactions and is beyond normal petty jokes. Reminds me of a young Carlin with his stories. Refreshing to see this form of comedy. This kid is going places. 😮
I was watching the Pay per View when the ear incident happened. We didn't know exactly what happened at first. We were like, "Wait, what just happened????" It was wild.
Josh is such a comedic powerhouse. Every set is original, not just funny but relevant and sharply interesting and intelligent. That's so difficult to do, but he consistently knocks it out of the park. My mom and I are huge fans and we look forward to every video.
I feel like the fix is in, but in my heart of hearts I really hope Tyson crushes Paul. JP might be young and fit, but Mike Tyson is a professional fighter. I think experience and skill really count for something, and all things being equal, I would be much more afraid of a man who made his fortune beating other men with his fists than I would be of a social media influencer.
Once he’s in the ring, instinct will kick in unless he’s really, really sick. Keeping fingers crossed he’s not. You don’t become a Mike Tyson unless the muscle memory is there. I’m just hoping this is an actual fight, and not something choreographed-ish like wrestling (no disrespect to wrestling, but boxing ain’t supposed to be like that).
Mike lost his entire boxing fortune a while ago. Oddly enough, he makes most of his money being an influencer these days. Jake on the other hand has been training with an unlimited budget for the bulk of his adult life. This is in fact an influencer boxing match.
LOL - this whole Jake Paul vs. Mike Tyson thing is so crazy. DJ Jazzy Jeff & The Fresh Prince made a whole song in '89 about why fighting Mike Tyson is a bad idea. 😆 Love your videos, Josh! ❤
This is the most brilliant, fast, intelligent, and insightful comedian of the past decade. I foresee a bright future. No swearing, no race baiting, unique, fresh ideas, brilliant observational humour.
Absolutely he is a voice of our generation. As a 31 year old man I’m sick of the infantilism of millennials. We have more to say and a real understanding of the world 🌎 we live in and we want more say in its Direction.
I’m seriously worried for the other guy. It seems the other guy has no clue what he’s getting himself into. No Clue! He is going to get seriously injured.
I legit can’t wait for a Josh Johnson drop every week. We’ve never been blessed with a comedic presence like this. The talent it takes to make something this funny and current every week is crazy!! ❤
Absolutely love your social commentary comedy. Dave Chappell is my ALL TIME favorite, but I’m seeing a lot of similarities here. You’re quickly becoming my favorite comedian of this generation. Keep killing it! 👊🏾🙌🏾 And for what it’s worth, my spouse used to manage an IMPROV so I saw pretty much every comedian on the circuit for years, haven’t seen one as funny as you. Wishing you continued success!
I remember, in the late 80s, my dad and his friends paid, like, 40 bucks, to see the match between Mike Tyson vs. Michael Spinks on Pay-Per-View and, I know all of them were pissed, because they had set up for a full party; they had the wings, the popcorn, the beer, the steaks, the ribs, EVERYTHING. Spinks was down in the first round, in 1 minutes and 35 seconds, 😆😆😆!

It was one said that if Mike Tyson has his bodyguards around him, the bodyguards aren’t to protect him. They are to protect you.
"If America is anything, it is a proper gamble" is a quote that needs to be enshrined
We love you josh. One of the best comedians in the business today. You don't have to be vulgar or edgy to be amazing. Keep doing what you do sir
And educating America...❤❤❤❤ and boy, do we need it
Exactly
well said
I love that I can laugh with my niece (13 y/o) and yet give her food for thought 🎉🗣️ you, sir, are a gem!!
💯
I am a volunteer chaplain in a maximum- security men’s prison and you were spot on about having to deal with the path you’re given😢
I really admire the way you insert history and social teachings into your sets so seamlessly while joking about current events, Josh. ❤ You put much intention into your work every day.
How the heck is Josh consistently this funny every 3 to 5 days with new material? Most comics have to try out the new stuff to see what work. Josh just talks and it always works.
The tone and delivery is audiobook level quality. It’s crazy.
Man! I love your level of empathy and proving that you can be kind and funny. ❤ Thank you for that kind reminder.
His legs and knees and hips: "We're playing dead so you don't end up dead. Just lay down."
I’ve been bing watching all the videos on UA-cam. Not only is Josh Johnson a great comedian but an amazing story teller.
23:23 The face you made after that person clapped 😂😂😂😂😂
LOL that 💀 me 😂😂😂😂
😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
This man had me hysterical lmao so many rewatches
💯
You could be getting ready to watch a Mike Tyson fight, go put some popcorn in the microwave, and the fight would be over before it was even done
It's over when you close the door to the microwave
@s.mariehardesty6398 🤣 truth!
And that's after you paid that back in the day paper view price of 60 for the fight 😂😂😂
@@treywalker9103 ouch!
"Your headliner Josh Johnson" just sounds right. Keep killing it man.
23:47 The most regretted, yet STRONGEST AND CLEAREST clap I have ever heard in my life
I’m not certain it’s regretted 😅
I clapped too! 😂
Audiophiles are in the comment section.
Yes!
If Jake Paul is America, then I want OFF THIS RIDE.
I’m gonna hold your hand when I say this
Whelp here we are - and I’m ready to leave Jake Paul’s America
I mean Trump is prez again on his Yolo Years, so if you didn't want off already because of that then Jake Paul ain't it.
Right I need my refund 💯
Really, Jake Paul is what does it?
I can't believe this man is nailing it onstage while essentially doing essays from UA-cam videos. DUDE, KEEP IT UP! Many thanks
Josh is an amazing storyteller! Funny, insightful, and brilliant. He has been such a great addition to the Daily Show.
I think Jake said something crazy about Mikes daughter who passed away. This fight will be brief.
@@eyesonthepiescc HE WHAT
Paul’s headstone will say, “Honestly this guy deserved it”
@@PeriLyons123 Might just say “Finally”
It's a cynical cash grab by both parties, the fight will be trash
Don’t believe it’s true. That would be way too below the belt even by Jake’s standards. Looked online for the comment and all I found were other people talking about it. And not very convincingly.
@@kalbad It’s being aired Friday.
23:07 the clapping here along with Josh’s face of pure shock just killed me
Killed me 😂😂😂
Josh, you are a balm to the soul. Keep doing what you do!
Go Josh!!! Almost 1 million subscribers ❤️👏💐
That escalated quickly
No one deserves the million as much as Josh.
The title to this video doesn't do it justice. This is an amazing love letter to Tyson from someone who wasn't even there. This needs to be seen by everyone.
A love letter to a convicted rapist? Okaaaaaayyyyy
❤❤❤
That singular applause moment, I had to replay it just to see Josh's facial expression again. LOL Wonderful premier ty!
I replayed the look on Josh’s face as well. The look in his eyes 👀 😂
Time stamp?
@@sethie_shots 23:22
@@sethie_shots 23:26 :) Lead up to it is 23:42 ish
How do you even memorize material this fast let alone think it up?! Such a talent and hard work ethic.
"Are you still watching" took me out. Excellent as always.
I can’t wait to see what Josh has to say about the aftermath of the fight.
So say we all!
I'm telling you, this cat is different. Intelligent use of reactions and is beyond normal petty jokes.
Reminds me of a young Carlin with his stories. Refreshing to see this form of comedy. This kid is going places.
😮
Yes, I thought of George Carlin as well!
The bit Carlin did about Muhammad Ali comes to mind!
I attended this Milwaukee, WI show. You and your opening acts were hilarious 😂 Much needed levity after election week. Thank you 🙏🏾
This ain’t a comedy session, this a philosophy lecture on Iron Mike Tyson!
"they look at us like we have a tattoo on our face"
bars after bars after bars from josh
We all need this right now ❤
Only if Jale Paul is seriously hurt
Can icomment now
😂😂 for real!!
I was watching the Pay per View when the ear incident happened. We didn't know exactly what happened at first. We were like, "Wait, what just happened????" It was wild.
my first thought when I first saw the news was "oh so this is how Jake Paul dies"
I did too! Like huh.. well ok then. Good to know
Good story tellers are the best comedians
Imagine Josh on the couch with Miriam margolyes on graham norton!! 🤣🤣🤣 I think they would be BFFs
Josh is such a comedic powerhouse. Every set is original, not just funny but relevant and sharply interesting and intelligent. That's so difficult to do, but he consistently knocks it out of the park. My mom and I are huge fans and we look forward to every video.
Josh Johnson sets during OT hit insanely hard I can’t wait bro
Lol not me thinking you meant overtime for basketball. Hope work is going well for you!
Yes babe get that time and a half
I feel like the fix is in, but in my heart of hearts I really hope Tyson crushes Paul. JP might be young and fit, but Mike Tyson is a professional fighter. I think experience and skill really count for something, and all things being equal, I would be much more afraid of a man who made his fortune beating other men with his fists than I would be of a social media influencer.
Yeah jake paul is gonna end up like the lady boxer in the clint eastwood movie.
Plus, geez tyson has a head like a pitbull. Paul - a champagne flute!
@@helenmorgan7767 That would be the HAPPY ending for Paul… by which I mean the ending where he actually keeps BREATHING
@ Wow.
14:20 big. This right here is why I love you Josh.
Absolutely he is a voice of our generation. As a 31 year old man I’m sick of the infantilism of millennials. We have more to say and a real understanding of the world 🌎 we live in and we want more say in its Direction.
Josh has truly become one of my top five comedians of all time. Pryor, Foxx, Chapelle, Josh, Katt
28:05 To whoever clapped; right there with you. I won't ever shoot anyone but damn that felt good to hear hahahahahaha
Thank you for intelligently explaining Tyson without cliche.🇺🇸 🇬🇧
He didn't simply kill the bird at 9:19. He flung it at him after tearing off its head. In fact, it was horrifying and traumatic.
I hope Mike does not hold back.
He would never.
Mike is 58. He physically has to hold back
@@THICCTHICCTHICC you have no idea what you're talking about, kid.
We all do 👊🏾
I’m seriously worried for the other guy. It seems the other guy has no clue what he’s getting himself into. No Clue! He is going to get seriously injured.
From now on, I want all biographies to be delivered by Josh Jonhson.
Hadn't planned to watch it until seeing this. Netflix should give you a free year !
And for what it’s worth, my spouse used to manage an IMPROV so I saw pretty much every comedian on the circuit for years, haven’t seen one as funny as you. Wishing you continued success!
🎯
Never once did josh johnson remind me dave chapell, nor have i concieved this thought til reading this comment. But to each their own.
Appreciate the good description- not everyone who posts on UA-cam takes the time to provide context. 💐🍀🥊💐
