If there is a doctorate degree in prog rock, this man has it.
Couldn't agree more!
You nailed it.
I am speechless
Yes, he does! Well said!
You said it!!! Wow!
From Rush to Genesis and now Yes, I'm speechless. From somebody that has worked in Video Production for now 40 years, I can only image the amount of hours that was put into producing this masterpiece. From the performance, to the audio mix, to the camera work and then the editing, I'm very impressed. How anyone would give this a thumbs down must be deaf, dumb and blind.
Relax, some people just hit the thumbs down button by accident
maybe there's people that don't like the music and that's what the thumbs down are all about. regardless i give this a thousand thumbs up just for effort . holy shit!! this must of took days and days weeks and weeks to get it right.
@Agustín Risatti Jealousy for sure !
Rob Zittlau That’s unquestionable. Thanks 🙏
Probably thumbs down because he's not singing (the only thing missing)! That, and the misspellings of "achieve", "privilege", and "allowing" in the credits at the end. ;-p
He needs to be on the Rick Beato Interview List! This guy is THE TRUTH!!
Id love to! I met him once while I was on tour in Atlanta. Super nice guy!
I guess if you ask him. It might happen!
@@AntoineBaril Duh... YES! HELLO, Rick!!! Get this guy on... please!
Started with Endless Dream! I love it!!!
If he starts singing like Jon Anderson, I am going to pass out!
LOL
Hahaha hahaha
He doesn't need to sing like Jon. I WOULD PASS OUT! 👍🏽
I would too!
At the risk of being a little facetious (sorry!) around this stunning piece of music, one of the quickest-passing, most pleasurable 20 sonic-minutes for me ... I came across a way of auto-generating Jon Anderson lyrics...
You take one of Clannad's Gaelic ballads ( ua-cam.com/video/nPEd725KJho/v-deo.html ) and mangle it through Google Translate:
(From "Coinleach Ghlas an Fhómhair")
Are the autumn green stubble
Oh dear that I looked at me
Your foot in shoes was nice
it's too nice for a version.
Your cheeks are the color of the roses
your couches were closely woven
If the king of Spain was moved
Overseas with its exact crowds
I'd push grass and wilderness
And I would be with my brown - haired girl.
Move and come to his first hen
Or we go over a cliff-wind
Separately
Crops and swans from the waves
That will not be separated
And only folly is being put over us.
That is the single greatest YES tribute that I have ever seen. Tears. Chills. * STANDING OVATION *
Absolutely! Tears and chills for sure, so spot on its spooky. I'm in awe
This is amazing! Thank you
Me too - I am standing and cheering!!! You are amazing and what you have put together here is OUTSTANDING!!!!!!!!! BRAVO!!!!!!!!
Up to this point, my favorite had been Mike Keneally's Faithful Axe, which I still have a soft spot for, but dear God in heaven this is amazing!
I agree with you. Amazing!
What an incredible job! Condensing 50 years of Yes music into less than 20 minutes with such a fantastic result. As a true Yes fan, you have all my respect and admiration. Long live progressive rock!
Antoine, your musicianship and arraignment is excellent. Pounds!
Man yes just gives you that dopamine you need. That section in gates of delirium makes me feel euphoric.
I declare Antoine Baril to be an "essential service"!
Essential service to humankind ? This guy
ou81aswell thank you 🙏
TRUTH
I'm most impressed he's got a cathedral in his studio
Lol. Nice!!!
And a MiniMoog on a Mellotron. :-)
He invested in music I love. Look at all the instruments he has.....!!!
Wot, You don't ? : )
@@johnb2602 I've only got a church with an SH101. But thats because I used to take a lot of LSD
Talk is an underrated album. Is a masterpiece.
Rush , Yes and Genesis are the three greatest bands of all time
Mind officially blown. No words left to describe how insanely brilliant this is. Everyone on the planet needs to listen to this.
Totally agree
Same here! :)
Vince Filpi no kidding...
Speechless
When one person is Rick, Bill, Chris and Steve all in one. What an Incredible talent.
And Trevor as well
...and Mussorgsky
what about Alan white?
… and what about Patrick Moraz? I mean, Relayer, dude.
and Tony Kaye
You are not a man. You're a GOD.
I’m not the crying type, but as a Yes fan since age 14, I got teared-up throughout this thing. A lifetime of memories put into one collage…the songs of my life
Antoine Baril: I'm going to audition for "YES"
Someone: On which instrument?
Antoine Baril: yes
This is the best "yes" answer joke I've seen!
DigiGroover I was thinking about that. Half seriously- I appreciated Jimmy Haun’s ability to cover the Steve Howe parts,as well as Rabin’s. Igor K’s being able to cover Wakeman, and Moraz (and Tony Kaye) .... Antoine could do either AT LEAST as well- so guitar or keyboard - ahhh, just vain speculation on my part!
Baahahahahaha
Great joke! If it's possible to clone him, he can replace the whole band :-)
@@awaken77 - Except for Jon Anderson of course since Antoine apparently doesn't sing. :-)
I'm going to say this right here and right now. This is the greatest thing on the internet for me.
There are times when I hate social media. This is not one if them. I had chills from---literally---beginning to end. This is masterful. Incredibly powerful....Bravo, sir!
@@relayerdave Yea, I was thinking...ok, maybe he'll pick a real easy Yes song (if there's is such a thing), and he launches into Endless Dream.
$500,000 in equipment?????
I'm so so so touched. I can't believe I regain trust in internet and social media.
After ploughing through such Yes classics as Yours is No Disgrace, Siberian Khatru and Heart of the Sunrise, then 6:48 hits and I've turned into a bowl of jelly. Then, he plays And You and I and there's some respite but then the insanity kicks back in. And then there he is at the church organ playing that part of Close to the Edge and the intro to Parallels. Well, I just hope he doesn't miss that killer bass line from Tempus Fugit. Oh, I spoke too soon, there it is... This is nuts. I was exhausted by the end. And I didn't even get up. 🤣🤣
Seriously. I spent almost 50 years playing music, and was a huge Yes fan. This is the most amazing musical thing I have ever seen. Nailed the mini-moog solo from Side one of Tales. My favorite bit on the album.
If it's the same part I'm thinking of where Rick lays it down, there must have been a couple months I'd drive home from my buddies full blast waiting for that part. Yes was before my time this was 2017 for me.
Talk is the most underrated Yes album
I was very excited that he opened up with Talk!
I am not familiar with that album when did come out?
Rob Hernandez 1994
I’m a 70 yr old aging guitarist. In my youth I saw Yes three times and they have brought me endless hours of joy. Still do! This performance has put me over the moon. I can’t thank you enough. You have made a difference in my life. Continue. . .
So who likes to go wild on Endless Dream?! LOL good job from a YES fan for 52 years!
The student must become greater than the teacher. Otherwise the “subject matter “ will decay and will forever fall away. To be forgotten and trampled over. You; my friend have risen this to great height.
This man is a genius. His work is unparalleled whether it’s Genesis Rush or Yes or ELP. Extraordinary. And who the 6 muppets who didn’t like this video surely must be musical Philstines. Only an opinion!!
An opinion I concur with.
Charles Ross oh dear. Announce yourself muppets!! Tell us what you know; so to try to understand your 👎
L
You just can't filter out the idiots. That's how it's been since I got into Prog when I was 16.
I will answer for them. The Archies are the greatest band ever!
So much incredible talent in one human being. Is this not the ultimate fantasy of every serious musician - to be able to play any instrument that makes music with such finesse, precision and passion? And, not only that, but to play some of the greatest music written in our lifetime! Bravo, Antoine. Bravo!
jonovan astounding
Mere words cannot adequately describe this mans talent. I find this video absolutely inspiring. Bravo Antoine !
That was simply amazing. Most musicians would spend a lifetime to master one instrument, let alone master all of them.
Wonderful. And it shows how enduring this music is. There will never be a One Man Britney Spears or Kanye.
🤣🤣🤣😂
Who?
I think I'll take my guitar, turn it upside down, put some legs on it and make a coffee table
Use neck for legs
@@jazu40 great idea
I'm gonna snowboard my guitar, and I've never been on a snowboard!!!
I sold mine to this guy’s and prode to see him play with it on this fabulus video.
Great work Antoine
bahaha 🤣 i thought of throwing my guitar in the fireplace or the ocean
Simply incredible man. You should have 100x the subscribers.
Exactly!
Agreed, traveling man
He totally cheated, though, by using a multi-track recorder.
My face hurts from smiling so hard. Fucking hell, this is one of the coolest performances I've ever seen. Wow wow wow.
The prog Master at his finest thank you Antoine...! Now waiting for one man Gentle Giant 😳
"Gentle Giant - Sight and Sound in Concert" would be a great starting point...
ua-cam.com/video/UM-yGcpaY_4/v-deo.html
But not forgetting their
"Advent of Panurge"
ua-cam.com/video/oK4cuXJa7QE/v-deo.html
I'm speechless what an amazing masterpiece ! incredible ......... you know what's next ........King Crimson !
Or Pink Floyd!
Pink Floyd Medley would be his masterpiece.
@@SDsailor7 it would be good, but the Rush one was definitely that :D
I just can't even begin...
Speechless. Antoine is probably one of the most talented musicians alive today. Amazing.
Behind Tyler Warren of course...
Perfekter geht's nicht
He's a proficient copy artist; one of the best, and in terms of prog royalty Yes, ELP, Genesis, he's a master. Where's the Gentle Giant? Kansas? UK?
Personally, having been in Yes & Elp tribute bands, I know full well the work involved. But the reason those bands are so respected, is that they WROTE the shit. So while Howe, Wakey, etc are incredible players, their genius lies in composition and arrangement. Antoine is terrific. Listen to Jordan Rudess do ELP's Tarkus - incredible copy. But I want to hear a new crop of prog writers/performers. Will there ever be another age of music with such creativity unleashed? Make It So!
@@thereallightwarrior906
His take on 'Awaken ' in the play out is MAGNIFICENT!
@@paulbrookes413
Thanks for that - “Awaken” is one of,if not MY FAVORITE Yes compositions ever! The guitar solo is Howe at his shredding tasty best, with mind-blowing ‘Encyclopedia Pyromaniacal Galactical’ best riffs, licks, phrases, and leads to perfection. Wakey’s organ solo achieves the same level of brilliance, with contrapuntal thematic phrases that build like a Bach masterpiece, showing the listener that a sophisticated modern baroque prelude and fugue can be the fundamental heart of the composition that teleports the listener across the cosmos, always with the same answer, “YES!”. No piece shows us better the pure genius of their artistry than “Awaken” does through repeated listenings.
Us: "So Antoine, what instrument would you like to play in the band?" Antoine: "OK!"
lol
Genius! How long did it take? This guy has got TOYS! He should be playing with some of the real guys!

I NEVER CLICKED ON A VIDEO SO FAST BEFORE
Once upon a time there was real rock n roll !
BEYOND gifted…
Jesus dude. That brought tears to my eyes.
I was literally sobbing
T Patrick glad to know I’m not alone in this.
When you finally cross over to the other side, God Himself is going to seek you out and let you know that YOU are a "Musical God" in his eyes.
This is the way Yes music is suppose to be played. What this shows is how great Yes music is, and that it takes a great musician/producer to create it.
11:36 The hairs on my arms and the back of my neck are standing up!!! Fantastic!!!
Brilliant this guy, he also does one man Genesis, what a talent.
And I think one man Rush !!
really? I need to find that.
Totally agree, great performance
When you can't find anyone to play with.
Victor Barnes
I remember when I saw Michael Hedges live, he said in response to being asked how he developed his “one man” style. He said, “I could never find anyone to play with or who would show up for practice”.
@@AudioAtmos I can relate to that. I stopped trying to get a band together, people were all talk and no show.
The rick wakeman riff from The Revealing Science Of God - Dance Of The Dawn really got me
11:11
The church organ part never fails to move me and make me tear up. It's so majestic and now to hear it being played on this magnificent church organ was absolutely incredible.
gentle giant three friends organ part
You and me both 😂🤣😂
Look up Fiek Asma in the oude kerk
this is the greatest thing i have seen ..been a yes fan since 1975. saw them live 10 times. I dont have enough words to top all the comments below .i am speechless
Wow. So lucky. I'm just glad I am born in the age of Internet so I can witness this and all that is to come
Not gonna lie... I got chills when I saw the Rickenbacker head stock
the GOAT of tributes. untouchable. PERIOD
Tama...the best name in Guitars..........remember when........in the 70's.......Tama Guitars.....hand crafted and hand made in Japan.....
Who else clicked on like before the video even started?!
People like Antoine make me think about the great potential in a human being.
There is no comment that you can make to descibe such magnificence
that Mellotron is wonderful
GODDAMN that was amazing. This shows you the music game isn't a meritocracy, cause this deserves a billion views.
Adrenaline Psalm I heard that.
Amazingly multi talented guy. He must have gone to the Royal Academy of YES.
👏👏👏👊😀 Show...!! Muitas saudades...!!
This is why God created the internet ❤️
Came for Parallels. Was blown away.
Got some deep tracks in there. This guy knows his Yes.
Ego Equus As I mentioned: he has covered all the bases...
Are you freaking kidding me? Probably the most amazing thing I've seen in musicianship in a very very long time!
You are a musical genius sir!
Check out his one man Genesis
I am speechless...
There is one other person as talented watch Ewan Cunningham perform Pink Floyds Echoes by himself ua-cam.com/video/8Os5oblueM0/v-deo.html
Check out his one man ELP too.
ANTOINE BARIL = ONLY BEAUTIFUL AND STRONG EMOTIONS
1st saw YES in 1973 with Poco as the opening act. The music has been a large part of my life.
Filled a huge music void. Saw them last year 50 years later. Who would of figured. You are a tremendous talent. Thank you for keeping this music alive. It is too good to disappear.
Jon Anderson just might call and tell you you are an honorary member of Yes now. Congratulations! ;-)
That small mushroom cloud over Vancouver is my mind.
I've watched the Rush and Genesis videos and I'm starting to think we're being fooled - this is four uber talented identical quad brothers :-) This guy is a total musical genius!!
@Thehightenor, Yeah, I'd hate to think that, but questioned it myself for a minute. Then quickly changed that thought remembering 2 brothers, I grew up with back in the day. Personally knowing that there's some bad-azz cat's out there, like this dude and my buddies. Crazy thing about my pals Frank & Sam Romano, both great musicians in their own right. Frank plays, writes, produces, & has recorded with many artists. J-Lo, Justin Timberlake, Bootsy Collins, P Diddy, you name it. And rocking with Rob Thomas for years. Saying that, and NO disrespect to Frank. But, his brother Sam is levels above, literally a music virtuoso. I watched him as kid's pick up a new instrument he never played before every few months. And a week or two later he played that instrument like he'd been playing it for 40 years! Unlike Frank's path & success, Sam is happy as a clam & content playing in local wedding band on the weekends still today. Crazy sh!t, and bothers me still when I run into him. Especially the connections Frank's got in the music business. But Sam wants to watch Family Guy??
Surely God dwells within your hands and fingers
Basically he played in the style of 3 different guitarists (plus Jon Anderson occasionally), 4 different keyboardists (5 if you count Jon on Yours Is No Disgrace), 2 drummers (though mostly Alan White style) and...one bassist. This is beyond genius.
I'm a YES fan in Japan. I'm currently doing a copy band. It was really great. The song selection is also very good. Thank you for your impression. I'm sorry, my English is not good.
Your English was just fine. A YES copy band will be incredible no doubt!!! God bless you!!
Your English is fine. I think the term you're looking for is "tribute band". A tribute band is a band that performs one band's music the best they can. A band that does a variety of other bands' music is called a cover band.
Your taste in music is as good as your English. Well done and best of luck with your band.
Thank you everyone for all the nice comments🥺💓💓💓
You have captured the essence of yes. Incredible but there was no cotton candy or clowns. No clowns.
Starting off with Trevor Rabin's genius... priceless!
i´m a FAN of "one Man Genesis" and Now YES.
NOTE: I am a drummer who plays bass and keyboards but I have no words to classify Antoine Baril.
This guy is a great virtuoso! Thankful for day accidentally finding this channel.
Salute from BraziL: Tulio
I have been a Yes fan for as long as I can remember. I can’t even imagine a life without Yes an their music, so it is. Well, I have only one thing to say; call Jon and make a new album. He will love this....... and so do I.
May all good things come your way. Love to the Band and to you.
18 minutes for 50 years of Yes music. Wow. The best tribubute of Yes i've ever heard in my whole life.
19 minutes et 48 secondes de pur bonheur! Merci!
Be still my beating Mellotron... this is brilliant.
I can't stop listening to this.
Unbelievable, found myself rushing for my hipster flares and love beads, Antoine you are a genius, thank you.
11:13- Incredible transition from acoustic/steel guitar to full blast cathedral organ! One wouldn't normally consider string instruments and pipe organs to be compatible but somehow you made a fantastic new sound with that instrumentation! Sheer genius! Thanks!
Bravo! Tu mérites pleinement le succès.
Dear Antoine, your medleys always lift me up, they are really keys to ascension !
I defy anyone to pause this video. It's just awesome. His one man Genesis is just as good.
What the heck? there has to be somebody out there that dislikes this. 11,000 likes, and not 1 dislike, must be a Guinesis world record.
Wooooohooooooo, there it goes! Sheer excellence! ***CLAPPING SO HARD!***
Ok. I’m seriously impressed. This is absolute, note-for-note perfection. Blew me away
I opened the dictionary and search for the meaning of JOY and there's a photograf of him, brilliant.
Comments?
What comments can i make.
I'm just in awe.
Hoping that he never stops.
I imagine the time and effort to make this production.
Thank you Barril
I had a smile on my face, the whole time. Bravo!
What an unbelievable production! There aren't enough words. Simply OUTSTANDING!
It doesn’t even seem possible that one person could be so proficient on all these instruments!!!
All I have to say is...."how can this be possible?" Wow! I've been playing music as a multi-instrumentalist for decades, and to hear this blew my mind! I kept clicking the bar below, hoping it would never end!! How can any one person be this gifted? Is there Alien DNA perhaps? Have you been tested on Ancestry? LOL! And I thought I was pretty good? Back to the drawing board!
Sound: excellent. Composition: incredible. Editing:absolutely perfect! Well done! This is the single best yes tribute/medley
This also shows how epic Talk is! A lot of fans don’t like it, but it is one of the greatest Yes albums ever to me!
Matthew Haislip That’s unquestionable.
"Talk" I am SOO guilty of judging that album by it's cover art. I think I am going to give it another listen after all these years...
Love that album. Saw them tour on it
Talk is a masterpiece !!!
Agreed. Somehow, Antoine's cover really brings out the brilliance of Endless Dream. I like it better than the original.
Tranquilamente podrias haber sido un integrante mas de mi grupo preferido !!! Un abrazo y gracias!!!
MY GOSH...SIMPLY AMAZING AND AS CLOSE TO PERFECT AS ONE CAN GET TRYING TO DUPICATE YES!!!!!!!
I am sincerely and utterly blown away at this man's astounding talent! Thank you so much for your wonderful tribute to a band who is and will always be in a class by themselves!!!!!!! I just wish Chris was still here to watch you play his bass parts...he would be som very impressed!
I cried like 5 times watching this. Thank you for all of your work here, as you did everything right. The mix was just slamming! The moves, the faces, shots of the mellotron inside!! and ... that amazing sound check jam got included. That is fandom right there, any one that knows that brief clip. Love love loved it.
I remember seeing Antoine playing for a band called The Musical Box, a Genesis tribute band, two years ago. He was rocking on the drums. After the show I got to talk to him and told him how big of a fan I was. He told me that I should be on the lookout for a one man YES video coming very soon ... I had to wait two years but it was totally worth it. Awesome work Antoine!! The scene with you playing the organ section of Close To The Edge in the church is as rock star as it gets.
And how lucky that he is once again touring with The Musical Box .... and he was even better this time around Oct. 2021 !
Saw them 2 months ago in Jersey. Awesome
@@markpetersen5055 musical box is so good, they don't even need to play musical box in their set, and no one minds!
I saw them about 2 years ago and didn't realise it was Antoine. They were brilliant as well
Dear God, Antoine is unbelievably good. One man Yes, Genesis and Rush. They are among the best guitarists, pianists/keyboard players and drummers in the business in prog rock. And he nails them all. I am utterly and totally in awe.
He was the drummer for The Music Box (Canadian Genesis Tribute Artist)... must have take 2 years just to edit this video.
do not forget one man ELP too.
The most spectacular and ambitious musical tour de force ever witnessed. Prodigious, exquisite virtuosity. Impeccably, impossibly nuanced. So meticulously executed--so totally sublime. Unexpectedly, even the deep tracks of the "Talk"/80s era were exuberant. Only one gripe: where the hell is "Machine Messiah"--it's isomorphic with Antoine himself. A Prog "Machine Messiah." Must go meta!! (and optics-wise, immense props for prominently featuring the Mellotron and the Oberheim (even if featuring an OBX or OBxa would REALLY give me an intense "RUSH"). Genius.
