This is without question my favorite Yes song. It is absolutely incredible in every single way. Why the critics dont like Talk is beyond me. This album is fantastic and this song is worth it alone. This song is Yes at there best.
This is my most favorite yes song and that's hard to say because there is not one yes song that I have not loved in one fashion or another wonderous stories is my next best yes🎉
Yep and I think it was a bit ballsy(in a good way) for them to release an album with a 15 minute track in 1994 when grunge and alternative were such a big thing to most people and progressive rock was barely a thing anymore. Maybe that's one reason the album didn't do so well.
This is probably my favorite Yes album aside from the 70's stuff. Don't understand why it got panned in reviews at the time. Rabin is a beast and completely underrated.
Trevor Rabin......dude is a genius, this was such a universe away from 90125....... this song ranks as one of Yes' all time awesome songs . He really was getting the classic Yes sensibility from Jon by this point...........great mesh .

Needless to say, I love this lineup and consistently come back to Yes music created from 81-94. 5:15 is my favorite part of this song!
This is rock music of the highest level. Drumming is abolutely mindblowing good. Wow, those rhythms in the first 3 minutes which constantly change. Out of this world.
Being a drummer and 32 years of being a Yes fan, I can't get enough of this song!..."Talk" is an unsung hero in the Rock-n-Roll business and Trevor Rabin was a milestone addition to Yes. Back in the early 80's, Trevor Rabin auditioned for Asia and didn't like it. He blew them off and hooked up with Yes. Damn good move!! Don't get me wrong.. I like Asia and even saw them in concert and the only time I saw speed demon drummer Carl Palmer on the stage.
Talk is the most underrated album they ever made. This is easily the best of the three "Rabin" albums and is better from start to finish than Tormato and Drama. The tour was great, too, but unfortunately attendance was meager. Talk deserved better IMO. Maybe too many Yes fans wanted Steve Howe, Bruford, and Wakeman to stay in the world of Yes rather than seeing them depart in 1992 after only 3 years of being reunited, so they subsequently shunned Talk out of disappointment.
The ending brings tears to my eyes cause it reminds me of my performing days and at the end of the show we would all hold hands sing a song and bid farewell. 🙏

The Solution? Really? Isn't that the one with nature sounds tacked on at the end? Not sure I personally would count that one but it's interesting if nothing else I suppose.
This song reminds me of my ex fiancée every time. She passed away several years ago. I must have first heard this when I was a kid, but it has such an amazing ethereal quality to it, a lot like an actual dream. And what I've always taken from it, is the expression of lasting love for someone who has departed, and how in a dream you're with them, but you get brought back to reality every morning. Mindblowing composition.
Unparralelled drum sound. Seriously, never heard such an "in your face" yet super open sound anywhere else. Oh, and the music is the best Yes music to me!
I remember the day when I saw the album in the store for the first time. It was MC cassette. I bought it immediately and played it on a loop for months. And still I love the album. My high school years. My school loves memmories in there and all that magic stuff. I played drums along, learned some parts on piano, screamed the lyrics in tears many times....I have enjoyed this album to the max. I squeezed every possible bit of joy out of it.

IMO this wonderful masterpiece is at the same level of what we consider "Classic Yes" I loved the Rabin era because I was in my very early teens and made me feel proud my already fav. band back then (since 8 y o thanks to my parents) was finally getting the recognition they deserved. But on the back of my mind I've always recognized the change of style (equally awesome) they sacrificed in order to achieve that goal But w/ this song T.R .showed us he could also compose what we call Yesmusic
I used to listen to this song a lot on the CD as a little kid. Coming back to it many, many years later and I remember almost every word. A beautiful piece of music!
It's Anderson and Rabin's masterpiece. "Talk" is underrated.. I heard it sold very poorly, and that is unfair, really. Although I could have done without the slightly heavy metal/Van Halen-like guitar part at one point on this track, it's mostly extremely beautiful music and lyrics. A progressive rock Anthem.
If you are referring to the guitar solo at the end of the song, I have to strongly disagree. One of the most perfect guitar solos ever recorded in my opinion
Marc: It did sell very poorly. "Talk" should have been the sequel to "90125", rather than "Big Generator" "Big..." was missing the long, epic-length piece of music, such as this. Songs of great length are the trademark of this band.
Yes, I think you're right, maybe Talk would have sold much better if it had been released let's say two years after 90125.... It already took too much time - almost 4 years, it was a long hiatus between two albums for a band in the 80's. Well, Big Generator - that I didn't like too much at the time but appreciated more with time - contains the magnificent "Shoot High Aim Low," and it had a few proggy pieces in the end, like "I Am Running" , even though it's not a song I love. Nothing of this epic proportion, yet, of course.
This album was amazing for the Trevor Rabin years. I'm sad that he left the band right after this. This was the first modern iteration of Yes that got the the old ideas with modern coolness. I hope that Trevor comes back soon although I thought that Steve Howe is great... I just wish they could be in the same band again. I thought Union was great!
The "purists" will ALWAYS say its never good enough, but they are closed-minded musically. The same argument can be made with Genesis - Collins vs. Gabriel. Both are great in their own way and both were (and still are) awesome talents. Peace.
Much like some of Genesis, this went past progressive rock and over into symphonic rock. That's not a genre many rock fans are comfortable with, alas. It sound overly monumental and pretentious to many, but it has its place, much like some of Oldfield's work.
this is not for Yes, Yes was superior in this case under this point of view, because home by the sea is not the cinema show or firth of fifth nor domino is in the cage, neither the last spike can be compared with ripples or one for the wine or mad man moon. Yes path has been different always inside a very similar dream energy
absolutely, yes and genesis. two cases of endless version comparison by their own fans. but for me, yes is anderson's angelic voice. i have no complain about the music, it's always been great..
Weep everytime I listen to it.. there's just something about it..was my youngest daughter's song a long time ago..used to play bass along with it.. she was enthralled!!
I saw them play this in a real theater - it was incredible. Squire and Anderson had everyone on their knees. We all suffer for lack of this talent today.
So many incarnations of Yes. I prefer early 70's Yes' albums like Fragile and Closer to the Edge but appreciate everything they did. One of the most amazing bands to see live.
I'm amazed as I have gotten older to discover the profound things that Jon was singing about all this time. I wish I could sit down and talk to him because I am convinced he is truly a genious
I bought this cd when I was a kid and I adored it. Yes never did a really bad album (well....Union may be considered kinda strange) and Talk was a very good record, with good songs and brilliant performances. It's a shame it did not became a classic.
I was never lucky enough to hear this live "in person" but I do have an excellent live recording of it which is pretty incredible.I always thought this was a tremendous piece that elevates "rock" music to a whole different level.
I know a lot of purists consider anything Yes did after 1980 as inferior, and I am one of them to a certain extent, BUT this song stands with just about any of the 70's epics. The intro might be the best two minutes in their entire discography.
It sounds like his Lap steel not his guitar no way a guitar can hit that last high note what a beautiful emotional solo my fav solo by anyone anytime no widdling guitar Olympics just pure emotion and class
Trevor puts in her songs some South African sounds (Example: Where You will Be) and he es a awesome multi-instrumentist all time!! He is my favourite Artist!!
Rush and Yes are comparable. Yes and kiss-no way. Rush and kiss-no way. Kiss is in no way anywhere near the levels of musicians as Yes and certainly not of the virtuosic trio from Rush.
I first heard this when I was in an extremly low low eeb in my life and it opened a well of strentght that I did not know I had profond and allways real for me great line up .
This song stands as Yes’ best song ever in my opinion. While the Talk album was considered by reviewers as weaker than their 70’s counterparts, this song is classic. Endless Dream 🤘🤘🤘

, even though it's not a song I love. Nothing of this epic proportion, yet, of course.
@@mrmusic248 wouldn't it have a way more poppy sound if it was released right after "90125"?
If I may, the strength to resist was already within you and this song was the door to find it.
_Do you have a favorite band?_
Me: Yes.
I bring this to You......this gift of Love !
The "purists" will ALWAYS say its never good enough, but they are closed-minded musically. The same argument can be made with Genesis - Collins vs. Gabriel. Both are great in their own way and both were (and still are) awesome talents. Peace.
Exactly!! This is was I think too.
I love this song . I play it all the time .! !
You r right! Every yes member should be toasted! Glasses up for Yes,best group ever!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Holy shit, this is excellent. It's different from classic Yes, but it's got that same Yes-ish feel, the feel that I just can't get enough of.
I heard this song a long time ago and I must say listening to it again after all the years on nice headphones is divine. A hidden YES gem.
I know a lot of purists consider anything Yes did after 1980 as inferior, and I am one of them to a certain extent, BUT this song stands with just about any of the 70's epics. The intro might be the best two minutes in their entire discography.
не превзойдённый ни кем шедевр...
that guitar tone is out of control also love the big sounding drums
It sounds like his Lap steel not his guitar no way a guitar can hit that last high note what a beautiful emotional solo my fav solo by anyone anytime no widdling guitar Olympics just pure emotion and class
Every version of yes is brilliant.
this song also came alive to me again after a death of a friend.
Blown down to the very last exaustive breath...this is indeed ' Classic Yes '
one of the best ever songs ever made
Trevor puts in her songs some South African sounds (Example: Where You will Be) and he es a awesome multi-instrumentist all time!! He is my favourite Artist!!

Thank you for posting. Dealing with the loss of a very great friend now. I've always loved this song, and he loved Yes as well.
Absolutely brilliant 👍
My favorite post 1960s/70s release is the 1994 "Talk" album....
My absolute favourite track April 2022 ever since I bought the cd when it was officially released in new Zealand
Two best Yes albums. Tormato & Talk.
Superb song. Even though it was a very underrated song/ album. I really love the album and listening to the songs from the the tour was great!!
Is the turning back to the roots... beautiful song, SUPERB !!!
After listening to this album, I stand by my opinion. There is no such thing as a "bad" Yes album. Just like Rush and Kiss.
Circus of Heaven and Arriving UFO are garbage, everything else on that album is good to great. Release, Release is in my top 5 Yes songs.
Comparing Yes to Rush and Kiss... is ew....
They weren't comparing Rush and Yes.
Rush and Yes are comparable. Yes and kiss-no way. Rush and kiss-no way. Kiss is in no way anywhere near the levels of musicians as Yes and certainly not of the virtuosic trio from Rush.
nallly Rush and Kiss toured together, yet they aren't comparable?
I first heard this when I was in an extremly low low eeb in my life and it opened a well of strentght that I did not know I had profond and allways real for me great line up .
This song stands as Yes’ best song ever in my opinion. While the Talk album was considered by reviewers as weaker than their 70’s counterparts, this song is classic.
Endless Dream 🤘🤘🤘
what a massive song
That's what I thought when I got into progressive rock. Now I'm surrounded by 18 to 25 minute long songs.
Great great song from Yes
Allan White never used a double kick drums but at 1:29 he shows what he can do with single kick!
Epic song!
The epic of the Trevor Rabin era. Very underrated.
This album -underrated afaik- and this song is just perfect. Lyrics, arrangements... everything... I lost track .... but must of been played more than a thousand times at home . thanks for posting
While Trevor compose the keyboard sections on this song, Tony Kaye's playing on this track is just exceptional.
Not to start a fight with anyone I am a huge yes fan from time and a word to ladder. Talk is my favorite album Trevor and Jon are incredible together an echo of holy lamb and nostalgic yes together :-)
Can't get much better than this.
paul marc ..first few minutes have weak spots, then KABOOM
paul marc Funny, that's what I would have said if I would stand on my hands upside down...
+Benoit Vanhees : I simply mean relatively........in the context of my original comment: "can't get much better than this"......listening right now, and frankly, I don't know what motivated my comment......ok, maybe the point at 2:10 to whatever...........but all relative to a magnificent product.
+Kevin Sakovich (REN) : ditto my comment to Benoit Vanhees.......* I simply mean relatively........in the context of my original comment: "can't get much better than this"......listening right now, and frankly, I don't know what motivated my comment......ok, maybe the point at 2:10 to whatever...........but all relative to a magnificent product.
A R W will be doing this live. Saw this show 3 times in 94. Never played again...well none of TALK.
Can't want for Durham nc. October 20.
Yesssss
this is the song to be played at my wake known it since 1994. to hard for them to play live.
Mark Giambrone it’s not hard? Lol they played it in 94 and nailed it
