      @@bzglick and you could end each of the flexibility-challenged videos with a couple exercises on how to address increasing the flexibility in that target area. For some parts of the body, it will be more expedient to learn a complimentary technique or functional concept like you described here (I'm going to go immediately try it at noon class today even though I have good flexibility), than the long road to the stretches to fix that area; which I think should still be done. First one that comes to mind is fixing people's hip mobility and flexibility.

    Thank you professor. From someone with short stocky legs and no flexibility.

    super helpful, I'm long limbed and not very flexible so I'm always reaching rather than balling up. thank you!

    This is great. One tip I'd add that helped my white belt self is to not be overly defensive- be on the lookout for when you *can* go into irimi ashi, tripods, wrestle ups, etc.

    Was literally just thinking about this yesterday after class. I wasn't totally sure what I was doing wrong or what needed to be done, but you hit the nail on the head. Thank you!

    Nice, will try focus on the knees to check more. Totally agree about the extension, I often try to rope them into half and work from there.

    If you can get your knees to your chest -- especially without using your arms to pull them in -- that is really flexible in my book.

    I love this and this is something that I've been looking for. I have this problem of overreaching because of I have longer legs. How do I take advantage of that instead of tucking my legs in?

    Guard is a terrible position, why try and hold it?.. Just stand back up!

  • @PaulJohn283
    @PaulJohn283 Місяць тому +2

    Yep I’m an older broken man and have been using this and teaching this for years…. The only problem with this is the more time you spend with your arms extended away from your body the more opportunities you present for armbars….Exp: Lachlan Giles vs Kade Ruotolo ADCC

    i'm nowhere near flexible enough to get my knees to my chest. not even close. No disrespect, but this isn't really a tip for people with poor flexibility.

      Unfortunately, I understand…the back of my head does not lay flat on the mat, but still made it to one stripe black belt
