Met a man in the Yukon who saw my Nebraska stocking cap and told me he was a lifelong husker fan. I asked him if he was from the states and he said no. When he was a young boy he wrote every big name college football program a letter, idk remember all he mentioned. He said coach Osborne was the only coach who responded to him and it was a hand written letter.

It's a huge credit to TO that he can embrace another coach who is not like him. Matt is a rah rah type of guy big on the pregame speeches to his players but also can get in their face as he did on the Sunday practice after the Michigan game. Having some personal knowledge with TO along with watching every game he coached and knowing players who played for him he was not a rah rah guy. He was very pragmatic and reserved and somehow this sent a message to his players who would do anything for him and had tremendous respect for him as a person as a coach. TO knows that was his way worked but he understands the Matt Rhule types can also succeed.

I had the pleasure of dining with Mr. Osborne in 1997, and as you all already know, he is a real gentleman.

I love that TO meets with Coach Ruhle from time to time. I think they're very much alike:. Strong work ethic, understands Husker culture and nation, believes in blue collar football, etc.

Will never understood y they fired Solich. Understand Osborne started not being as healthy and had to leave but man if he stayed or if Solich was never fired we might have 2 or 3 more chips right now

I have a tremendous amount of love and respect for coach Tom Osborne. Having said that, I REALLY feel like Tom moving the program to the Big 10 was an awful decision!! We were crushing it and had much more success recruiting when we were in the Big 12! The "glory days" are over and may never return (I hope I'm wrong). Just my "no one cares" personal opinion.

Take this old worn out speech and add your favorite name Solich, Callahan, Pelini, Riley, Joseph, Frost, Rhule..

Joseph followed Frost and served as interim after he was terminated.

Tom needs some antibiotics and some prescription grade eye drops for that eye.

He ain't coaching nobody. It is all a publicity stunt to say, "Tom is helping Nebraska with the option." He can't wipe his own ass let alone teach football anymore.

Hopefully you're feeling better. The coach has forgotten more about football than you've ever known and, I'd say more than likely that you've achieved a very, very small fraction that the coach has accomplished. 😅
