very cool. I've had the pleasure to meet Tom and know him (not well) But i can tell you that everything you've heard is true. He's shy, smart, kind, gentleman, a leader - I consider him a role model for any man. Now he woudl NEVER accept such compliments. He's humble. I just feel blessed to know him, He's made a huge positive difference in thousands of lives. God bless him.
Love coach osbourne. I saw him at a subway maybe 20 years ago and pretended I tripped and squeezed my large soda all over him. Completely drenched him. It was an honor
Travis, the first game I saw at home when I returned from deployment was the 1971 classic on Thanksgiving day.Greed and stupidity ended this game. Saw the 69 Texas Arkansas classic day after I enlisted. They do no play anymore either.Greed and stupidity.
As much as I love Osbourne, it does feel kind of weird to do this special on a show called "Big Ten Icons". Looks like a good program, though. I'll be watching the full show when it airs.
Nebraska wasn't in the big 10 when Osborne coached there. Stop trying to associate yourself with Nebraska's dominant years....had nothing to do with the Big 10.
He was a big 8 legend. A doormat of a conference for most of its 70+ years. But how did he do in his last OCC game over the balance of his career. Games that we can use to measure just how good the conference was. 10-13
It was the BIG 8.Texas was in the South West Conference.Nebraska fans hate being in the Big 10.They do not play Hockey, football and hoops can not compete, and it costs too much to fly the non revenue teams to Pa. and N.J.and Ohio and Michigan. And they lost their huge rivalry money making game with O.U. Forgot Colorado game is also gone. Nebraska needs Oklahoma on their schedule for recruiting.
It was not the Big twelve, we only won one title as a member of the big twelve, he has one as a big 12 coach and 2 as a big 8 coach. And you are asking the difference between the two conferences, Texas and ESPN and refs didn't screw the Huskers over in the big 8. Texas and it's sister schools were in the southwest conference which SMU screwed up and led to Nebraska ultimately having to deal with the Longhorns and their bs every other year, instead of the way it should have been red river is bs it was just an excuse for Texas to destroy tradition of the Ou Nebraska game, so they could seem more important.
Man everybody says how great he was to go for the win in that Orange Bowl against Miami what he should have did was just went for the tie and won the national championship who cares 20 years later how you got the national championship only thing you care about is you are a national champion
@@Magicconchshell1 oh god. U Neb fans are a piece of work. We found out Osborne's principles with his handling of Phillips. That game was all about his trying to ensure a NC.
I'm a Badger fan, but Tom Osborne is the greatest college football coach ever. Much respect!
I think Tom Osborne is a hero and a champion to go for the win in the 1984 Orange Bowl national championship against Miami.
Tom Osborne won at least 9 games in his entire career
as a Auburn fan i think hes as good as anyone
Legend!!

As much as I love Tom Osborne, Tom is a Big 8 Icon, Not a Big 10 Icon!!
Exactly
Tom Osborne is obviously one of the greatest college football coaches ever but he was never a big 10 coach
We called him coach Tom 'Is-Boring' - 1974-78.
Tow was winning though. Where are the Corn Stalks now?
Ask the opposing coaches how boring he was.

Don't seem right calling Osborne a big 10 legend it's like saying the big 8 never existed. BOOMER!!

@robjohnson8861 what was his record against the SEC?
Don't argue with fools...from a distance...you can't tell who is who #FansWithClass
Never argue with an idiot. They'll drag you down to their level and beat you with experience.
Big 10? first of all u all have 12 teams. 11 for many years. Secondly, Osborne was in Big8/12. Whos running this conference?

THANK YOU
Nebraska has won two Big 12 titles.
Texas is more important than Nebraska

It’s a matter of principles not vanity

Rob Johnson you see the final score of the game? Go check and see if he needed him
Going for 2 was the right decision. The play call was questionable and the pass was poor.
