Omggg you saved my life with this video - I was just about to do a “the ordinary” haul of new products before I saw this and nearly bought the COMPLETELY wrong products for my skin and routine! Awesome that you explain all aspects of the products !!!
The Ethylated ascorbic acid it’s a complete GEM 💎! It has incredible antioxidant power. It brightens and helps lighten dark spots. For me that’s by far the best absolute formula from them all.
I spent like 2 hours trying to find a good video, I really wish I found this channel sooner. Also the fact that you put time stamps- I automatically subscribed and liked.

I use The Ordinary Ascorbic Acid + Alpha Arbutin after 1 month it started turning yellow, and I read online putting it in the refrigerator help return the product clear and last longer. It’s now 4 months and the Ascorbic Acid + Alpha Arbutin is still clear which means the active is good. 😊
The Ordinary Ascorbyl Tetraisopalmitate Solution 20% in Vitamin F helped me sooooo much with acne scars. I had literally big dark patches on my jaws and cheeks and they are GONE right now. I still have acne but the blemishes faded so well. I recommend that one to everyone with dark spots 👌
Maybe I'm a weirdo but I LOVE the feeling of the 23% suspension in HA spheres. I put it on at night and it makes me want to keep massaging my face, it feels so nice haha
I use the 23 Vit.C and over that i use Vit.E creme... than i do the rest of my routine, sun care bla die bla and my make up❤ amazing product. Love iT so much, my face is getting bettwr and better by day
The Ordinary has been really hit-or-miss for me. I'm only using what I currently have because I hate wasting product, but I would not recommend the C suspension with HA spheres or the Resveratrol/Ferulic serum at alllll. I respect what they're trying to do, but I'm someone who doesn't wear makeup, so skincare is my self-care and indulgence. I want to enjoy using products, and it's pretty hard to consistently use products that you hate feeling on your skin.
The TO Vit C 23% was the first vitamin c I bought and I loved what it did to my skin. It is gritty, and it does feels weird the first 2 weeks, but you can barely feel it tbh. The con is that I can't use it during the morning cause it makes my skin a little oily, and since I am now using AHA at night I need to find a good and cheap vitamin C to use at daytime. Great video!
I used the 100% powder and mix it with my moisturizer and then my sunscreen with no problem, and sometimes mixed with the resveratol and the texture with that felt wonderful. Finished the pot.
i have very acne prone skin and the ordinary worked for me a year ago, but i stressed over a stupid ap test last year during quarantine and I’ve never been able to clear my skin since. When it cleared , I used Cerve face wash, curology, and the cerve daily moisturizer. It worked for a while but once I saw that all I had was a couple scars , I switched to the ordinary niacinmade and alpha arbutine in place of the curology. It worked so well. My skin was glass clear. I ran out of the niacinimide and alpha arbutin for only a day or two and I’ve never been able to clear my skin after that. It didn’t work the same. I switched back to curology but it doesn’t work the same as when I first used it. Tonight I just switched back to just the cerave hydrating cleanser , niacinimide, alpha arbutin, and then the vitamin c 10% suspension and I’m really scared because this is my first time using the vitamin c suspension AND my first time in months using the ordinary again. I want you’re opinion because I’m desperate to clear my skin. I’m tired and have been trying to get my skin back to how it was last year.
Hi Cathy, actually I am a silent viewer, I don’t usually post comments. But within the skincare community, I’ve found that you have a unique voice and style so I just wanted to applaud you for it. You give relevant and practical information and not ramble on about unnecessary product details to push it. You have a natural manner; not overly abrasive, humorous or shocking. You are appreciated! I think I found my fav skincare channel. From a chemist kind of major like me, having proof like the ones you bring (also with references,👏👏) New sub here!!
You should look into doing audio books or voice over work as a side hustle because your voice is so soothing. I’ve been using Good Skin Days (from Charlotte Cho) 10% Vitamin C and I enjoy it. But I’ve been slowly transitioning into a k-beauty routine and I noticed this type of regiment doesn’t use Vitamin C, so I’m having a tough time trying to figure out when to use my vitamin c serum when using Toner, Essence, BHA, sheet mask, etc.
Some UA-camrs, like Gothamista believe that Vitamin C should be used in the AM, and be the first product to go on clean, bare skin. Apparently this gives the Vitamin C the best chance of being absorbed. Once it's in, it (theoretically) stays in the skin for up to 72 hours. So you could layer products in whatever order you prefer *after* your Vitamin C product.
Oh my god. Everything is so perfect here. Everything is so well explain and the chapters omg. I turned the bell on, it's my first time but I won't regret it. Please marry me.
I used ascorbic acid 8% + alpha arbutin 2% and it caused irritation following bumps in morning and Thankgod you mentioned that 👍 i thought i am the only one who experienced this

Urgh this is such great review. I am just getting started to include vitamin c in my skin care routine. Previously i only do facial, toner, moisturiser & spf sun screen. But thats ittt. I used pixie’s vitamin c previously too but i don’t see any difference at all. Lol
I used 100% L-Ascorbic acid for about 2 years with wonderful results. I always thought it was what faded my skin damage (dark spots) but after cheking on the ordinary website, they seem to recommend the Ascorbic Acid 8% + Alpha Arbutin 2% instead to treat dark spots from sun damage. So now I'm not sure if the powder did fade them or it is something else and since I still have some dark spots left that I want to get rid of, I bought Ascorbic Acid 8% + Alpha Arbutin 2%. Do you think it would be a good idea to add a bit of L-Ascorbic acid powder in it to make it more potent (as I wish to not downgrade the potency)? Thanks a lot in advance.
Does this mean that I shouldn't be using the cerave facial moisterizer with the Absorbic acid 8% + Alpha arbutin 2%, because of the niacinamides in the moisterizer?😫
Hey Cathy! awesome video. Im wondering if i can use the 23% together with retinol? im planning to use both for my PM routine. is that a great idea? Please help!
Hey i love The ordinary ❤️ can u tell me if i can use the vitamin c with HA Spheres after dermarolling my face? Am a little bit afraid cuz its slightly strong 🤔 answer me plzzzz ❤️❤️❤️❤️

I'm not sure if you researched and got your answer already but I'll just leave a comment in case you haven't. The two can be used safely together, however, The Ordinary formulated their products in a way that they cannot be used together. I hope that cleared any confusion.
