I’m so here for this! I tried the Ordinary’s Vit C in silicone, and it stained my nails, and anywhere there was a hole in my skin. So- my pores were filled with a dark orange brown, as were any pinpricks and scratches on my fingers. I do a LOT of hand sewing, which means my fingertips are now just covered in these little orangey-brown dots. I am not pleased. But I don’t want to give up on vitamin C overall. I have hyperpigmentation and sunspots I’d like to fade, and I like the idea of helping prevent further damage. But that VitC suspension was trash! A s it wasn’t that it had gone off- it was only just opened a week ago. And the cream is still perfectly white. It was only on my skin that it went a dark orangey-brown.
I bought the Rohto essence from your recommendation & have been loving it! My skin looks so bright & I do think its been lightening my post-acne hyperpigmentation! Can’t wait to keep using it & see even more results! 👏🏼
While I haven't tried the gold standard skinceuticals, I've tried many other "budget" brands and only Stratia C+C gives me the glow everyone else talks about. It's strong though! I can't use it every single day for my sensitive/dry skin.

I wish I found you sooner. You come across as honest and someone we can trust. I found another dermatologist in youtube yesterday and ended up running to target and bought hundreds of dollars of face creams lol. I will go through your other vids.
Renee you're the only one I trust for skincare recommendations! Have you (or anyone else here in the comments) had trouble layering makeup over your vitamin C and other skincare? I had been using mad hippie vitamin c serum but it felt like it was pilling on my face and made layering difficult. I'm looking for ones that are specifically okay for dry skin and to layer under other products/makeup. Sounds like Melano CC would work!
I’ve been using the Rhoto Melano ascorbic acid for spot treating and I really like it. It dispenses drop by drop and air doesn’t get into the tube easily. Vitamin c usually irritates my skin so I’m glad to find one that dispenses in such small amounts. I haven’t been using it long enough to see results yet however.
Silicones are a science in and of themselves. There is a tremendous amount of technology behind them and range widely even with the same inci name. the silicones used in stratia are the ones that evaporate.Silicones never sink into the skin because their too large and are designed to be ontop.
I love the neutrogenia product.. I love that the capsules are the perfect amount to use, as I tend to sometimes over due the amount of serums actually needed 🤷♀️
Need to try the Vichy one, so many skinfluencers rate it highly! Love the Geek & Gorgeous serum, so affordable and such a powerhouse in terms of efficacy! I also really like the By Wishtrend Vitamin C serum with 15% L-Ascorbic Acid, very nice watery texture and a similar formulation as the Geek & Gorgeous one.
Hello my love! Unfortunately, the wishtrend vit C has a pH that's out of range, so while it feels so good, non-irritating, and will still be a good antioxidant, it won't be able to work deeply in the skin to affect collagen!
I agree, I feel like texturally watery serums are better, but I typically see better results and less irritation from silicone-based, like Stratia. The most fantastic Vit C serum I ever used that delivered results like no other is from Exuvience, similar to Neutrogena in capsules, but very potent, 20% so application on dry skin and then wait a bit is a must...
