The 60's TV show is my favorite Batmobile, then when this one came out, it became my second favorite, the third one is Burton's batman... the Kenner Super Power line, in my opinion have aged like fine wine. 🦇🌙
Nice work on this! I've always wanted the Super Powers Batmobile! Maybe someday! I wanted to thank you for putting free Sticker files for Playmobil's GE5P and XY6 robots on your site! I recently printed them out, and spruced up my two GE5Ps --one had no stickers at all, and the other needed a few bits. I also FINALLY got my hands on an XY6 robot! I got him from Greece, of all places! He was in nice condition, and even came with his rayguy-thingee, but he was completely devoid of stickers! So, your website saved the day! The stickers printed out very nicely, and I now have them proudly on display in my studio!
The repro windscreens look great. It is a common misconception that contemporary toys are less durable than vintage ones. Usually it is the opposite, but it's a shame that you can't disassemble them anymore. It was a good thing having the opportunity to unscrew and fix everything.
Thank you so much for showing this repair. Now my Batmobile will finally work. It really is a great Batmobile. And I am grateful for the Batman and Robin you sent me. All 3 look great together.
Hey Dave! It's good to see you doing a restoration video on the beautiful Super Powers Batmobile. A couple of years ago, I acquired one of those through eBay & had the same problems that your Batmobile has. The back mechanism from the car that traps the action figures was not working, the front part was not working either and had other issues. I took it apart and restored the broken bits. After a good cleaning and fixing, I proceed it to get replacement parts for the car because it was missing a few. I did a good job with it and quickly I put my Batman and Robin in it. I sold it after two years. I regret doing it & now, I'm searching for another one to display with my figs.
Very cool Dave. Always was an old school Batman fan. Never ceases to amaze me how simple most of the inner workings of some of these old toys are. Fantastic engineering. As always thanks again Dave
Great work a really enjoyable video i love the time lapse music combination it keeps me watching instead of fast forwarding to just see the end product a comparison shot at 5he end would be good And I think you deserve a special thankyou for your decal work and making those resources freely available i watched your video on space ranger repairs and was very impressed. Keep up the good work the people who have given you grief in the past should fell ashamed the alternative to repair is throwing old toys in landfill which is bad for planet and that history is then lost.
I was hoping the rear batclaw wouldve been broken on yours. I see that as a problem with many batmobiles. It's an easy fix but takes a unique spring. I had to buy another beaten up batmobile to get that spring, but now I want to fix that one also.
@toypolloi Just a simple question, why did you wash the car before taking it apart? Wouldn't it be easier/better to dismantle the car first then wash the separate parts? 🤔
Only if you plan to fully disassemble it. Often the fixes don't require the whole toy to be taken apart. Also it's nicer to start with a clean ish toy. You can do it whichever way you prefer.
Is there a technical reason why old toy stickers are made of dots and not solid colours? did they print in CMYK and have to create other colours by mixing the dots?
okay now that was a cool repair video I had a super power batmobile I trade for some stuff it did not have the front windscreens so I trade it than a year after I trade it I found one complete at Steel City Comic con in Monroeville Pa .If I had known of the of repo windscreens I would have got for the front window oh well and Knowing is half the battle
Hello, I'm Paolo, the older half of Liprandi, sincere compliments for your video, I loved seeing the inner workings of the toy. May I ask a unrelated question? Is "toy polloi" a reference to ancient greek?
I wonder if a Batmobile stored or displayed for many years with the battering ram cocked will eventually cause that original clip to fail from the constant pressure of the spring.
I'm sure this would be an easy fix but is there any chance you could do a replacement cape clasp for the Batman 1989 figure? I imagine it would be the same clasp these older figures have in their capes.
Nice repair job . Do you have any dealing with an Imaginext Batmobile with the disc shooter ? I got one recently , cheaply , but the disc shooter is " busted " . PS ah , i always suspected that there was a greater star at work behind the scene . Now we know . Hail Luna 🐈🐱 👏. Thanks for the show and teach .
Interesting how the Batman figure looks almost identical to the 1989 movie version but with a different paint job, and the 1989 Batmobile toy used a similar gear stick lever to operate the rocket launchers on the hood of the car. Quite good design from the makers too as it makes sense having the activation lever in the cockpit rather than a button on the back of the car.
Lol always stay for the end credit scene , hi Luna !
She is the star of the show.
@@toypolloi🐱 Dogs have masters , we cats have crews . Ok back to work human . 😂
My childhood Batman and Batmobile! I haven't seen this since I was a child..
I’m such a massive Batman fan even at the age of 25never this before it’s an Amazing thing to have in your collection
Bonus cat cam! 😸
Always one of my favorite vehicles! You made it shine again Dave. So glad you were able to get one!
I would take a guess it is called a Batram!
😻Hi, Luna, from across the pond!
And again a fine restorsian. 👌👌👌👌
Many thanks!

My pleasure. I know a lot of people find the stickers useful. I am adding more each month. Cheers
Great fix, interesting fact with this toy is it was the inspiration for the Kitt super pursuit mode in season 4 of knight rider! 😎
Very cool!
Nice project .colourful car
Much as I always enjoy your videos, Dave, my favorite part of today's was the "post-credits scene"! 😻
I should just make cat videos in future by the sounds of it🤣
@@toypolloi Just make sure UA-cam pays Luna 😂

Some toys are made better than others for sure. I just prefer fixing the old stuff.
Thank you so much for showing this repair. Now my Batmobile will finally work.

That is nice a vehicle not seen here that I want nice work repro parts look great to. And love the grey batman.
Took me three Batmobiles to finally have mine complete. My buddy had it when we were kids and I always wanted one. You’ll have a blast with it!
The Super Powers inspired intro goes down well like all your other intro variants,Dave.
Thanks. I have great fun making them.
Great fix, what a cool toy.
Thank you 🤗
Excellent work Dave. Love it.
Many thanks!

Always learning from your videos, thank you.

Hey Dave
Yeah something Bat themed! 😉
Very smart and strong fix.
Take care over there😊
Nice work Dave!
Thanks!
LOL @ the 'have a think' test card!
Gives me time to ponder 🤔
Nice fixes Dave :-)
Thanks
My uncle has the whole Super Powers line mint sealed. I'd love to get my hands on the collection one day.
Very cool

Apparently this toy was the inspiration for the front end of the Knight Rider Season 4 'Super Pursuit Mode' transformation.
I was hoping the rear batclaw wouldve been broken on yours. I see that as a problem with many batmobiles. It's an easy fix but takes a unique spring. I had to buy another beaten up batmobile to get that spring, but now I want to fix that one also.
This batmobile inspired Universal studios to create the SUPER PURSUIT MODE for KITT from knight rider.
The expanding nose for instance
I had this. Didn’t it have orange dome convertible?

Thanks for watching!
I would like to see a restoration of the Kenner Batmobile/Batmissle from Batman Returns. I’m trying to find a replacement canopy and fins for mine.
Is there a technical reason why old toy stickers are made of dots and not solid colours? did they print in CMYK and have to create other colours by mixing the dots?
It's called halftone printing. Still used today for some things.
I almost answered my own question 😅 thanks for the reminder of the name. it's been 30 years since I did anything to do with printing at college.
where did you get the windshield bubbles for the Batmobile?
That's all covered in the video. Cheers
@@toypolloi your accent is hard to understand.

Hello, I'm Paolo, the older half of Liprandi, sincere compliments for your video, I loved seeing the inner workings of the toy. May I ask a unrelated question? Is "toy polloi" a reference to ancient greek?
Thanks. And yes Toy Polloi is a play on Hoi Polloi.
My batmobile is missing the wheel flap piece. I tried to create one, but it is not easy without the right size of the original piece.
I wonder if a Batmobile stored or displayed for many years with the battering ram cocked will eventually cause that original clip to fail from the constant pressure of the spring.
It could happen. Plastic degrades over time. And this is clearly a weak spot.
How to repariert, replace the Windows Screen
I'm sure this would be an easy fix but is there any chance you could do a replacement cape clasp for the Batman 1989 figure? I imagine it would be the same clasp these older figures have in their capes.
Have you checked out my video on making capes for these superpowers figures? That should help. Cheers

Bat-tering ram.

maybe you can 3d print a replacement piece..
I'll leave that to others. You can find out why here. ua-cam.com/video/0126LgtKDwU/v-deo.html
Whut, no atomic batteries?
I did set the turbines to speed, just off camera.

You could really use a better hobby knife.
If it works it works.
