I cannot believe you two haven't done Maiden reactions ????? - A must do then is the iconic Hallowed Be Thy Name - same concert I believe.
They’re still going today, touring later this year. There’s whole generations, still kids going to their shows.
You should listen to "Hallowed be thy name " live from the same concert 1982 beast over Hammersmith🤘
And "Fear of the dark" live in rio early 2000s👏
Up the mighty Irons!!!!🤘🤘
Hallowed be thy name is also available in 4K, looks and sounds brilliant 👏
Iron Maiden is the GREATEST(live;]BAND in the world now and forever🤘
Up the mighty Irons!!!🤘🤘🤘
Now you HAVE to open the MAIDEN floodgates
Yes, as noted above you guys have to check out 'Hallowed Be Thy Name'.
Also another equally and incredibly amazing band I don't remember you guys reacting to is Marillion. You could do a whole month of reactions from any of these two wonderful bands. GOATs.
Bruce Dickinson on his peak, I think also in 82-holding notes for minutes😅 brilliantly
Yes , i feel a iron Maiden journey coming , my favorite Fear of the dark.
Greetings from the Netherlands 🇳🇱
Love Maiden and this was my break through track. When I got depressed or tired in my teens, I used to put one of the first four LPs on and the speed boat bass always used to get me moving again.
Think they may have been one of the first groups I introduced my Dad too that he also got into - only far given all the great stuff he brought me up with
They are touring this year in America. Im seeing them in october cant wait! Thanks for this video
So cool!
I met the drummer outside his restaurant 10 yrs ago. He stopped and talked to me a hour. Thanked me many times for being a fan. Very humble. I had to leave. Great people.
It’s the only Iron Maiden song I know and it’s been decades since I’ve heard it.
What a belter of a track. Steve Harris was doing a phenomenal job there, that’s ridiculously fast playing for fingered bass. Great tone from that Precision, too.
I think we should do more. Loved going back to my misspent musical youth
@@TheThamesmen
Not misspent. You did exactly what you’re supposed to do with youth.
@@sean---the-other-one not sure my folks would agree!
Iron Maiden has been my favorite band since I first heard them in 1982. They were the first band that I considered heavy metal. I was 13 at the time. This was the album that did it for me. I saw them live for the first time 3 years later and I saw them live again last year. They were almost as good last year as they were in 1985 and yes they are just as fast today and have just about as much energy as they did back then.
Off the top of my bonce the 5 tracks I commend to you for your aural delectation are Phantom Of The Opera, Remember Tomorrow, 22 Acacia Avenue, The Number Of The Beast, Rime Of The Ancient Mariner & your bonus was on my copy of Killers - Women In Uniform
There are, of course, many many more....
And they're still around and kickin'!
I got into Maiden late, at about the same time I discovered Nightwish, late 2018, I believe. Both have become personal favourites. Got to see Maiden live in 2022 in Lisbon. Bloody amazing show. One of the best I've seen.
They'll be touring the US this year. You gents do yourselves a favour and go see them!
now they have 3 lead guitarists
1 too many.
Guys have you checked outthe OG Female Japanese Metal band...
Aldious Absolute live
Still awesome live today. believe me.
At next hallowed be thy name from this same concert!. Is the best . It'll blow ur mind.
Gotta do hallowed be thy name from the same beast over Hammersmith gig in 1982 it's legend.
Rime of the ancient mariner from flight 666. Hallowed be thy name, dance of death, the parchment a few of many many songs
Can you react to "Hallelujah" by Nick Cave & The Bad Seeds (not their cover of Leonard Cohen's Hallelujah, but their own from the album "No more shall we part"). Or any other Nick Cave song? You might going to like the works of Nick Cave.
finally..!
next time "the trooper" 🙂
Run To the Hills was my introduction to Iron Maiden. I think it was possibly, one of their only songs to get mainstream airplay here in Australia (based on the sample of one, the radio station 3UL, out of Warragal, Victoria).
Iron Maiden was kind of a flash-in-the-pan for me, as I never really followed them after their initial breakthrough. I did, however, discover how good they are, through the magic of UA-cam. They are still rocking, and seemingly still a powerful unit.
I have a bit of a problem with going to watch aging bands (in their 60s or more) as I have experienced a drop of performance in the past, and feel you only go to see them for a dose of nostalgia, before they die. I didn't get tickets for the recent Paul McCartney tour, nor the Elton John tour before that. I, perhaps mistakenly, think they are past their prime, and I would rather stand in a smaller crowd to see an up-and-coming band launch their career.
Having said that, friends have bought me a ticket to go with them to Iron Maiden's show at the Brisbane Entertainment Centre later this year. Am I looking forward to the show; hell yes, but I would probably rather go see rising bands like Hanabie, Gacharic Spin, and to mess with your minds, Atarashii Gakko.
Anyway, I do thank my friends for buying me the Iron Maiden ticket, I think it's going to be a killer show.
Maiden are currently doing their last album live with a few from Stranger in a strange land, and by all reports are killing it.
People who have been lucky enough to have seen them several times and have stated that they sound better than ever🤘
@@azzajames7661 I'm now super excited.
@@lencooke944 I hope it even better than you can imagine mate👏 Enjoy 😉 👍
Classic!
I scream as Bruce Dickinson screamed in 'From Here to Eternity' 10 years later: More! More!! More!!!
I noticed all your posters are of The Satyricon, The Starry Night, and the Pine Street Theater. These were all clubs in Portland Oregon when I was growing up in the 80's. Were you familiar with these clubs, or did they just have good posters? I see the Salem Armory too, I saw White Zombie there once too! Wehrmacht was from Franklin HS in Portland as well!
Don… sorry to say it’s a green screen. We don’t own these. It’s an image but to my defense I collect Fillmore rock posters. Cheers Alex.
Well. I have been to all of them. Slayer at the Starry Night 1985 Hell Awaits Tour, DRI & Wehrmacht at The Pine Street around the same time. Wehrmacht seems to still play in Europe.@@TheThamesmen
Also seen Iron Maiden Powerslave Tour in 85, one of the most proficient bands ever!
Maiden Rule 🎸 🎸 🥁
They're still that good.
I first got into Iron Maiden in 1988, when I was about 14 years old. I bought the Live After Death double cassette. I had no idea who Maiden were, but I played that album to death (no pun intended). I bought almost every Iron Maiden album up until Brave New World, which was released in 2000. I do have a couple of their albums from after then, but I don't remember them. I can't seem to get into their later/current music. I have (unfortunately) still yet to see them live.
Reacting to almost any live Iron Maiden video would be appreciated. You definitely need to have a look at Hallowed Be Thy Name, The Trooper, Fear of The Dark, or even Rime of the Ancient Mariner.
Great reaction gents, more Iron Maiden is always a good thing. Check out Rime of the Ancient Mariner, Hallowed be thy name, Fear of the Dark, all live if possible. Enjoy the ride. Up the Irons!!!
I always loved Murders in the Rue Morgue. Any epic live versions of that for us to see?
\m/ UP THE IRON \m/
Man, I still LOVE this song! As a young teenager, I was into heavy metal and hard rock, and this song was in my wheelhouse! I remember having debates among my schoolmates whether Iron Maiden or Judas Priest was the best metal band at that time . . . what would you have said back then, George?
Judas Priest British Steel was the first album I bought. I have a big soft spot for it. Couple of years ago I went for a very liquid lunch with the producer of that album. Epic day
@@TheThamesmen Lol -- that's awesome!
Unlike metallica, Iron Maiden is still great 👍
Their three most recent albums - The Final Frontier (2010), The Book of Souls (2015), and Senjutsu (2021) - have all reached No. 1 in more than 20 countries. Iron Maiden have sold over 130 million copies of their albums worldwide and have obtained over 600 certifications. The band is considered to be one of the most influential and revered rock bands of all time.
Metallica are still awesome. Not iron maiden awesome but I still love them. I’m trying to get a Convince myself that Saint anger didn’t exist. Lol I do love Iron maiden more than Metallica but I’m glad both bands are out kicking ass right now. It makes me feel young! Rock on friends!
@scottblankenship650 The problem is that once all these current big bands retire, there really aren't too many to replace them😞 The future looks less rocking🤔
Since we're in metal, I can't advise you enough to react to the latest live version of "Hammer of wrath" by Lovebites because it's pure madness!
Withnail and I is a wonderful comedy. One of these days I need to rewatch it. I also never got into Iron Maiden, not really my style.
Superbly tight band and that bass line was great. Another thing I thought of was Sabaton with the historical content of the song.
Good point on Sabaton. Musically similar as well at times
Next: The Rime of the Ancient Mariner - LIVE Flight 666
the tour must have taken it's toll. he bailed on the 3 octave rise.
No, this is very early in the tour (2 weeks in). Bruce sang the chorus like this for most of the tour, until they opened for Judas Priest late in the tour where he sang the album chorus. 😀
I've never seen Withnail and I, I'll check it out.
Hope you enjoy it. It is a film of great characters with perfect dialogue
good morning just to let you know after run to the hills I ended up buying the album. Upon listening it brought back many great memories. The difference with other bands is the guitar solo which they make great ballance so each run was a musical advanture where every run was clear and added to the vocals and feel of the album.
the lady bands from Japan are to me are treat technicians but their concerts are more an event play as fast as possible.
With Iron Maiden the instramentals enhancethe musicality in my opinion need way more more musicians from the early 60s and moved forward with great music and mesmerized.
Good for you. Great album. I think I better go listen again
Gentlemen have a favor if you have a moment could you take a listen to teenage Head the album Frantic city. We all thought this bandwas a sure bet if they had a managerwho could get them airtime in the USThak You in advance I really like the head @@TheThamesmen
One I mentioned before is Dylan covering Yonges old man. And Neil yonge covers Blowing in the wind
I have seen this version before, but I can't help wonder why Bruce didn't reach up for the high notes. Maybe he had a cold? It doesn't matter. Bruce always deliver!
No cold. He was still capable back then. I wish he would have.
Check the Clansman at Rock In Rio 2001
Bet the crowd is amazing
Great band great performance. Love the fact strait up rock and roll. The focus was on the song/music everything as this one focusing the abuse of native people in North America. Love how the guitars play off each other with great vocals. Need more bands from this era.
I am not a native English speakers, but i think you two have British accent, and your call yourself Thamesmen, but you two are in the US?
So you are Londoners living in the US or my English hearing skills still need major improvement?
No you are right! Actually we are from about 60 miles west of London but both moved to the Us about 20 years ago
Rory Gallagher
thanks for the reminder
@@TheThamesmen Jeff Healey check out Bruce’s Cockburn great folk guitarist Gary Moore covering Hendrix Red house 50th annivercay of the Stratocaster. Probably undoable but Clapton with JJ Cale Road to Escondido
My job is done almost check out Canadas answer to Kare Bush. Lorena McKennitt The Bonny Swans
