"Rain drops keep falling on my head" but reactor 4 just threw graphite onto the roof
And Wojak is stencilled after Dyatlov
This comment is delusional, take him to the infirmary.
300 thousand views, not good, not terrible (I do want to do chernobyl at some point)
@@jrmungandr may I suggest slavery and suffering? Another red army choir song. Quite good and it fits with the mood of the clean up crews who where forced to work there
@@jrmungandr I Have A Suggestion Yinede Şahlanıyor Aman but You'r a Turkish Tank Commander Riding Towards The Streets (28 February Coup Happened On Turkey)
I can imagine the horror of being stuck inside a submarine, so close to rescue yet so far away from it
Honestly probably one of the worst ways to go drowning under water. Mainly because you know its coming and it isn't quick or painless. Chills my bones thinking about it.
Right? I feel sorry for the men inside the submarine when the dissaster happened.
@@dawnofwar4302 I mean, submarines implode on fractions of a second. You are dead ten times over before your brain can register it, but fuck the dread of being stuck there, full well knowing there is no way out. Ever.
One of the scariest times I think would have been Thresher (“The sub lost electrical power and couldn’t operate the reactor. Darkness, a sea mist and sheer terror inhibited the crew from manually actuating the valves. The aft part of the sub filled up with water and tilted down. With no power to get back on line, the sub drifted down below 1,676m/5,500ft, to crush depth and imploded.”).
@@twinky3349 The emergency blow valves were actuated, but froze shut immediately and could not be manually cycled. The last recording of the Thresher was from an underwater microphone where initially the sound of popping was thought to be coming from the hull cracking before finally being crushed. Experts later came to the conclusion that the popping came from gun fire, and it is thought that the CO's final orders were to open the weapons lockers so each sailor had a choice on how he would die.
The scene from BBC's Chernobyl when the divers went in with this in the background... didn't think it could get even more depressing than that. Until I saw this :D it's said that Kharitonov's performance of this song made Brezhnev cry.
Unironically a man of culture, that's where I first heard it as well, and well, obviously it stuck with me.
@@jrmungandr bro Nice video , but i have a cuestion from we're You get the sounds ???
BBC made a film/series on Chernobyl?!
@@je6874 HBO Did.
@@IudiciumInfernalum BBC also did a thing on it years prior as part of a series called Surviving Disaster, it shares a lot of DNA with the HBO series
"All along the Watchtower" but you are a flying a chinook to the Saigon Embassy.
"All along the Watchtower", but you are the same Chinook that evacuated Saigon, now evacuating Kabul
he wont do it, other channel made it
Kabul embassy
"Hail to the Chief" but President Kennedy's taking a lovely drive through Dallas.
do you not mean fortunate son?
@@callumrae5769 no, the actual hail to the chief
Wow that that's actually really fucking ridiculous.
Attempt 6: “which side are you on?” But the West Virginia National Guard has started advancing up Blair Mountain
We’ll get our requests someday bro lol
@ThyPeasantSlayer Ever get so mad at your boss you get a couple thousand of your friends together and rebel hard enough to get the Pinkertons to drop bombs on you from biplanes?
Anyone who doesn't think this needs to be made is a thug for J.H. Blair
@ThyPeasantSlayer Basically a bunch of Appalachian coal miners attempted to unionize but were put down by Union busters hired by the mining companies, eventually the miners would arm themselves and effectively occupy Logan County, the WV national Guard would be called in leading to the battle of Blair Mountain and the coal miners being arrested.
more info: en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Battle_of_Blair_Mountain
It’s kind of anachronistic, would fit better with a Joe Hill song since those had been made by then
“Born in the USA” but you’re piloting the killdozer.
" VROOOOOOOOM VROOOOOOM MOTHERFUCKEEEERS"
Shit I need this one… starting to get tempted to make my own
thats a good one
thats good one
LMAO LETS GOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO
Attempt 4: “Highway to Hell” but you’re on Highway 6 into Baghdad.
The Krusk was such a crazy story. I just recently saw the movie about it. I still can't get over ther fact that all these mend died for the pride of the some UDSSR General
Well, it was a military exercise
*Kursk *Men *USSR *All those men
They died because they weren't trained to handle the torpedo type correctly, not sure what it has to do with pride
The most prominent theory is that a weld failed on said torpedo, which was old as balls at the time to boot
@@jrmungandr Yeah, from what I understand the torpedo failed during testing and blew up, after that we can get a clearer picture of what happened
"Trolleybus" but you're a soviet tankist onboard a T-62, entering in the Panjshir Valley for the seventh time.
I need a woman!!!!
“Ring of fire” but you’re a US Sailor on the USS enterprise and you see an A6M hurtling towards the flight deck.
"In the mood" by Glen Miller, but you're a sailor on the USS Arizona during a lovely Sunday morning in 1941.
This hit different
I'd say the Oklahoma instead
Do The "Leave Her Johnny", but Pirate Frigate attacks your merchant ship.
Or
"Ved Stanford Brua", but you are making the last stand against the English at Stanford Bridge.
Thanks again.
up
I second the Ved Stanford Brua
Up to both
I'm up for Ved Stanford Brua
"Roland the headless Thompson gunner" but you're a mercenary and the Irish peacekeepers you're besieging won't surrender
@ThyPeasantSlayer somebody requested it before (I think this is the same person)
@ThyPeasantSlayer someone requested it but with Belgians I think? I could be misremembering but I feel like it was something referencing the Congo withdrawl.
@@jackstork716 I believe that was me, but I said you’re a Belgian Mercenary taking heavy fire from the Irish Defenders during Jatodville
“I get around” but you still see the jungle every time you close your eyes
Attempt 3: "Kickstart my Heart" but you're destroying radar in an EA-6B during the Gulf War.
this is a badass one, kickstart my heart with anything aviation in the background
Or be that one F-16 pilot that dodged several SAM launches during the Package Q Strike.
@@M_Alistair that audio of him was absolutely intense.
“Battle Hymn of the Republic” but Colonel Chamberlain just ordered you to fix Bayonets
i respect the dedication my guy. i hope he does it soon
Until he does, the movement continues
@@yankee_07 You have my full support, friend.
Love it. How long have you been asking now?
@@yankee_07 heck yeah brother
“Rhodesians never die” But you are flying a chopper over the Zambezi river
You’ve failed to keep them north of the Zambezi
WTF 3rd time yes
“Erika”, but the Soviets have broken into Berlin.
Thanks Jörm for making this request happen, it’s criminal that UA-cam removed the video but I’ll always remember that it used to be there.
"Erika" But the Soviets are closing in on one side and the Americans on the other and Hanz now has PTSD
how original
probably gets taken down lol
So unique!
@@ssekiro8944 YESSSSSSS MASTA
this is scarier than any horror movie
Reality is the most horrifying of all
"The Ballad of Rodger Young" but you're preparing to board your transport for the drop on Klendathu
I would like to know more.
Rodger Young is buried in the town over from me
Went to school there and never knew about the starship troopers book until I was an adult
Finally, I've been waiting for this song to be used in something other than BBC's show
But that was an all-time scene though
Easily the best one so far, in terms of effects.
Thanks!
legit got chill from the background, those poor souls, may they rest in peace
The subtitles make this even more beautiful
Thanks, something i thought about kind of last minute, glad you like it!
May all those poor souls rest in piece.
*peace
One of your best yet. The best ones are when the music isn’t just matched in terms of time/origin, but actually thematically links
Agreed
Wenn die Soldaten but you are traumatized soldier coming home after the defeat in WW1.
Always great work. Thank you Jormungandr. I look you up by searching your name in the search bar on YT nowadays and when I first discovered you, I never thought I'd be able to with my ever worsening dyslexia. Much love from almost anywhere I go.
Come Fly With Me but you're a British fighter pilot flying your Spitfire during the Battle of Britain
The Yellow Rose of Texas but it’s your 13th day inside the Alamo
''It's a long way to Tipperary'' but your Uboot is being pinged and depth charged in the Atlantic. Might sound weird but if you ever watched Das Boot (the movie) you will/might understand.
I was in the hospital as a kid when this happened, and had nothing to do but watch the constant news coverage. It was a strange feeling to be dying while watching men die in real time.
“La Marseilles” but you just received word that Paris fell to the germans
Also just had another idea:
"La Marseilles" but you're surrounded and taking heavy artillery fire at Dien Bien Phu
i appreciate the detail of the captions. very well made video as always, keep up the good work, despite the amount of stupid requests you get.
i remember hearing a story about there being a NATO sub nearby, i forget if it was american or british, but apparently it was waiting for the go ahead to rescue the crew, which never came. Apparently the sonar operators could hear the survivors banging on the hull, and as the time went on, the banging got quieter as the remaining crew began to die
Thanks for watching!
Wait, there's captions? Oh boy, time to rewatch videos
"Eve of Destruction" But your squad is being ambushed in the Mekong Delta
California Dreamin but you are an F-4 Phantom pilot in Vietnam that was ordered to drop napalm tanks in a field
I think what gets me about these videos is that these moments you capture, mostly war…war accident in this case…these moments were some of the worst for us. This little ASMR experience that we can watch from the comfort of our beds was someone’s end. In the dark. With 22 other souls. Few can imagine what this was like, and fewer can stomach the thought. Thank you for bringing to light what happened in the dark. Many have tried to do so creatively, and I think you’ve done quite well. They deserve to have their story told well.
It is indeed a strange thought to think that 118 men met a ghastly demise aboard this boat, and that the moment was captured so well; not by camera, nor written word, but by music.
A little relevant in 2023 now
This is going to be a sad one…..
Attempt 3
"Una mañana" by Jose Jose but you got ambushed by the Cartel in Culiacan, Mexico.
I find myself coming back to this video almost every day now...
Don't forget: you're here forever
@@jrmungandr The sounds ambiance really makes the music come alive for me.. thank you for making this
I was a kid when it happened and I remember having nightmares for weeks about it. I was imagining them dying in the darkness, still hoping for rescue. Nothing else in the news before or later had such an impact on me. To this day I think this is one of the worst possible deaths imaginable.
“Barra Barra” but your Blackhawk is taking fire over Mogadishu
“Recconissance battalion” but you’re alone in a destroyed BMP waiting for an evacuation chopper while the Chechnyans close in
Oh man, the end. They were still alive in there. Very well done.
“Marching Through Georgia” but your burning Georgia
Absolutely terrifying..Damn that ticks in the end gave me giga goosebumps.
"Short Change Hero" (The Heavy) but you are an American soldier hastily withdrawing from Afghanistan after twenty years of an unwinnable war.
this might just be your best work, the crescendo of the track coinciding with the hull integrity thresholds *delighted finger kiss*
This one slaps!
I also love the dynamic change to the background sounds/background itself, adds to the narrative. I didn't know about this event but looked it up for context and knowing that it's heartbreaking.
Keep it up!
What happened to those men I wouldn’t wish upon my worst enemy
"California Dreaming" or "California Love", but you're an LAPD patrolman who's starting to realize that maybe you should have something more significant than your issued .38 to deal with these two well armored bank robbers.
Excellent video, by the way.
Reference to the 1997 North Hollywood heist, by the way.
"Almost There" but you've fallen through the floor and into the basement at a 3rd alarm
Almost There by Youngblood Hawkins
"Wir lagen vo Madagaskar but the Bismark is sinking" and "Der mächtigste König im Luftrevier but your U-boat is being Depth charged"
According to Wiki both the Brits and the Norweigans offered to rescue the Russians but the Russian government forbid them. Imagine how messed up that must be for the families to know. I'd pack my bags and leave the country.
I heard about that I’d be pissed too
For sure high on my list of one of the worst ways to go out. It's not even quick or painless.
And they could've been saved, that's what sucks hardest, pride killed these men, pride and ignorance
Comrade, what does death sound like?
It sounds like this, comrade.
'Gas,Gas, Gas' but you're queuing at a petrol station in the UK hoping they haven't run out.
"Britain rule the waves" but you're on the HMS Hood fighting the Bismarck..
"Burning down the house" but you're part of the siege on waco
Holy shit, when it started groaning I actually got scared for a second. After being inside of a submarine, I can imagine what those sailors must have felt as they gradually realized that none of them were coming out alive.
“Rock the Casbah” but you’re a Saudi soldier fighting at the grounds of the Grand Mosque in Mecca in 1979 against terrorists.
Honestly love your content, especially the russian songs with russian background ambience and/or war/battle ambience.
My god these videos are just getting better and better in quality, especially the effects like the alarm, the lights, and the sounds. Keep making these please! Maybe do a tank crew one soon?
"Fly me to the Moon" but your spacecraft's oxygen tank just ruptured and the electricity is failing
"Weeping sad and lonely" but you're in the 1st Minnesota and Hancock just ordered you forward
"Цукор Біла Смерть" by Велика Ріка Хєнь-Юань but you are pinned down by Russian Special Forces in Pripyat
“Breaking the Law” but you’ve been given the order to breach the Iranian Embassy.
"I Don't Want To Set The World On Fire" but you're on a B-29 firebombing Tokyo
"Kameraden auf See" but it's midnight after the battle of Jutland and you're trying to pump water out of Lutzow
"Óró sé do bheata bhailé" but the four courts are burning and you're trapped inside
you will never get my ass in a sub. respect to the brave/crazy bastards who do.
"Eve of destruction" but a US Destroyer engaged a Soviet submarine off Cuba
Journalist: What happens?
Putin: It drowned :^)
“Come out ya Black and Tans” but you’re facing a British firing squad
Or “Come out ya Black and Tans” with any part of the Troubles/Easter Rising/Irish Civil War
Yep do this somg
nice one
Over the hill and far away but you're surrounded by 3000 zulus
Attempt 4: Loch Lomond but you're the 51st Highland Division holding St. Valery to cover the Dunkirk Evacuation.
“Have you ever seen the rain” but you are pinned down in the battle of Hue city
"Porilaisten Marssi" but your Satsuma exploded in the forest
"We Die Young" but Ivan just pushed 25 divisions into the Fulda Gap.
"British Grenadiers" but the Continental Army has surrounded you in Yorktown
"A Las Barricadas" but you're on the top floor of the Barcelona telephone exchange in May 1937.
“Sink the Bismarck” but your on the HMS Hood and the Bismarck just showed up
“We gotta get out of this place” but you’re tunnel snake trying to clear out a Vietcong tunnel network

The song "Любэ - Там за туманами" also fits here
a moment of silence for all those on the kursk
"Dark as a Dungeon" but your shaft collapsed and you have no food or water
it's just a burning memory, but your understanding: War is Lost
The Foggy Dew but you're down to your last magazine of ammunition in Jadotville.
Battle Hymn of the Republic - but you’re marching towards the sound of guns at Antietam.
"Grass near home (Трава у дома)" but you're flying to the Mir Space Station
"La Adelita" but youre in the second battle of Celaya in 1915 holding the constitutionalist line agains Villa's northern divission.
Cant wait dude. Reminder set.
“Breakfast in America” but your plane is heading to land on the Hudson river
