How in Heaven's name can so much sound come through that "small attachment point" to the chopper housing? .. it's amazing! ... even with the blower function, I can't understand how that small opening at the entrance to the horn can pass so many decibels.
Holy crap dude, thats bad ass, your own thunderbolt!!!! We still have a few around here left over from the Cold War era that are used for tornados... I do not like the sound of the newer ones... These suckers are a part of my childhood growing up huddled in the closet during tornado warnings.
Charlie, I travel to Nashville a lot, being a musician. I have recorded an eclipse 8 there, but when I contacted the town of Nashville, they were unaware of anything about sirens. Where do they put their old sirens? Next time I go, I want to visit the junkyard they are in.
Damn! I'm actually sooo jealous right now 😣 I'm all the way here in the UK, thousands of miles away from any mighty Thunderbolts and you have one ON YOUR HOUSE! 😵 No fair 😟
I am feeling the same as you I am all the way in Scotland near Glasgow and there are no thunderbolt. But I have visited Carstairs sirens but still not fair.😟
It needs to come down for stripping, re-priming and re-painting. Use a self-etching metal primer to avoid flaking, and apply a clear coat to reduce UV damage.
I do too I wonder what city and state it's in.he must have permission from the state to operate it during storms and taste he,d have to otherwise he could be in big trouble
I'll be doing a video on the siren repair soon. The rotator has stopped working properly. The shop (or I should say "old" shop) has had all the devices removed minus the traffic lights. I moved the whole fire alarm system to my new office across town where it actually has a purpose now.
Amazing! How did you hook this up? I might get a siren, and our house cannot handle how many volts a thunderbolt is. Anybody have and suggestions on what I could do?
i am sure you get this a lot, but WHY? legally owned or not, my neighbor does a stunt like this he's got a lawsuit before the siren fades off into the distance
That is a great sounding thunderbolt

its because the horn is big.

Same, all I have is a thunderbolt chopper.
Agreed. Thunderbolt 1000Ts would work in Broadmoor, the closest system of sirens near me
That’s cool you have a tornado siren above your house when there’s a tornado warning that’s cool you can actually activate it
She's a beauty
I've always liked these the best. Maybe because its the first one I ever saw.
Wish I could get my hands on a siren. I live in Lafayette, TN
Im in Rutherford (Almaville area) We really need one down here.
Are you still doing fire alarm videos?
It needs to come down for stripping, re-priming and re-painting. Use a self-etching metal primer to avoid flaking, and apply a clear coat to reduce UV damage.
Nice to See you return
I guess we've learned our lesson of why NOT to paint a siren using Sherwin Williams rattle can paint.
