👍 Great explanation on Luke 14, Pastor. And timely! Our church's Bible study this week, while primarily focused on Hebrews 11 (vv.23-31), refers to Luke 14:25-27. I read the verse last night and thought, "Wow, what harsh appearing words from Jesus! How would I explain this verse to someone who questioned Christ's words?" Your video shed light on Luke's text. Thank you!!! You are a wonderful servant of the Church, always taking your time to help your brothers & sisters in Christ understand God's Word and church history & doctrine. By the way, I love that you have your new book seatbelted in the back seat...😂😁😂😁...that could be taken as cautionary advice to readers 😉! I have only read the first two chapters, but can say it is excellent stuff! And I can't wait to read some more. Peace to you, Pastor. Keep up the faithful work!
You’ve got to let go of the LEGO in your hand in order to take hold of the royal sceptre that Jesus is giving to you. Is to say that we are like a child grabbing what is ours, refusing to let go. Instead of trusting the Lord and receiving what He’s giving.
Loved what Hans Pieper taught and I have continued to share the truth of there being only two religions. One that flows by way of man's works, and one that flows by way of God's Grace. It is such a simple statement and yet has such great depth. As I dialogue on Facebook, I am never surprised by the verbal attacks I have received as a result of sharing this Truth. Anyway, I thank you for thinking outside of the box and reaching beyond the walls. You inspired me to write the following... A Biblical Thought For the Moment... (Only Two Religions) Deuteronomy 30:6 "The Lord your God will circumcise your hearts and the hearts of your descendants, so that you may love him with all your heart and with all your soul, and live." When I was at Seminary I was reminded that there are really only two religions. The verse from the Old Testament tells us of God's Grace and His Work. That is the one faith. The other depends upon our work, feelings, law following, and understanding. Every other faith focuses on what you do, how you think, where you go, and how you live. You are taught to depend upon you. Even in the Christian faith, this other faith is taught when particular churches are in error. Before I earned my Masters, I remember watching Charles Stanley, a Baptist pastor whose messages were televised and recorded for radio. One day, I heard him give an excellent message on God's Grace. He told us, "you can't get to heaven on your works", and he was correct. Ephesians 2:8-9 reminds us that we are saved by Grace and not of ourselves and that the faith we have is a Gift, so that none of us can boast. So, Dr. Stanley was being very biblical until he said, "now all you have to do is make a confession and receive Jesus into your heart." I remember hearing that and getting frustrated, because he just undid his entire message. He put the effort on his hearers after he took the burden off of them. He turned God's Gift into a work by saying, "all you have to do." Why was what he said in error? Well, the Bible tells us that while we were yet sinners, Christ died for the ungodly. We are also taught that nobody can say, "Jesus is Lord, except by way of the Holy Spirit." Yet, here was Dr. Stanley telling his congregation that they had to ask for what God offers, including His Grace, His Spirit and His Son. This is not biblical, but the error does flow from Romans 10:9-10 which says, "if you confess with your mouth Jesus as Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved; for with the heart a person believes, resulting in righteousness, and with the mouth he confesses, resulting in salvation." This text is not an introduction, but a result. The context around Romans 10 is quite clear. In truth elsewhere in the Bible we are asked if dry bones can live? (Ezekiel 37) Do you remember the answer to that question? It began with, "Lord you know", but further in the text God says, "I will cause breath ר֖וּחַ to enter into you, and ye shall live." This supports the text that speaks on faith coming only by way of the Holy Spirit and "Spirit" in the Old Testament is translated as breath; "ruach" ר֖וּחַ. In this text, right before causing breath to enter we read, "Prophesy upon these bones, and say unto them, O ye dry bones, hear the word of the LORD." Here we have God speaking, His Word that creates life. In Romans 10:17 (just a few verses down from "confess with your mouth", we read a supporting verse that says, "So then faith comes by hearing, and hearing by the word of God." You see? It's all the work of God and when you confess Christ it is not because you summed up the effort or made a decision. It is because you heard the Word of the Lord, which gave you the Holy Spirit, which gave you faith." You had nothing to do with being a Christian which is a wonderful Promise. When you cling to this Truth, the Old Evil Foe cannot touch you asking, "did you believe rightly" and "was your confession enough?" Well he can try, but we can just point him in God's direction and say, "bring it up to Him, God did it all." Truthfully, we do not even reach out for God's Grace as that too is an effort. The dry bones had no life in them until the Lord placed it there. I pray the hearing of God's Word brings you Comfort and Peace. Doug W. Koehler

There are two JESUS projected in the SCRIPTURES, there is the VESSEL JESUS and there’s CHRIST JESUS, the VESSEL JESUS said “And if anyone hears MY WORDS and does not believe, I do not judge him; for I did not come to judge the world. He who rejects ME, and does not receive MY WORDS, has that which judges him The WORD that I have SPOKEN will judge him in the last day.” John 12:47-48, The VESSEL JESUS SAID “I do not judge” CHRIST JESUS SAID “For judgement I have come into the world” John 9:39a. You have to pickup on which JESUS is SPEAKING, in Luke 14:26 CHRIST JESUS is SPEAKING, The REVELATION that came down from heaven and is not talking about the flesh, father, mother, son, daughter, family but HE’S talking about there opinion, you have to hate the opinion of all except The OPINION GOD’S which is The REVELATION that came down from heaven are as John wrote “you have left your first love” Revelation 2:4 and you can only finds GOD’S OPINION in the prophets apostles and HIS SON JESUS CHRIST the cornerstone, The LORD shows us in 1 Kings 18:21b “How long will you farther between two options. If the LORD is GOD, follow HIM; but if Baal, follow him.” GOD has put HIS OPINION (CHRIST JESUS) in Elijah, The REVELATION that came down from heaven is LORD, so when CHRIST JESUS SAID you must hate your family I understand because my family loved me but they hated my new OPINION that I was sharing and I loved them but had to refuse there opinions. Love you

Loved what Hans Pieper taught and I have continued to share the truth of there being only two religions. One that flows by way of man's works, and one that flows by way of God's Grace. A Biblical Thought For the Moment... (Only Two Religions)
Deuteronomy 30:6 "The Lord your God will circumcise your hearts and the hearts of your descendants, so that you may love him with all your heart and with all your soul, and live."
When I was at Seminary I was reminded that there are really only two religions.
He turned God's Gift into a work by saying, "all you have to do."
Why was what he said in error?

Love you
