4:46 should be Trenton doesn’t know what a chestnut is. However I love these keep them up.
@@cjholcomb9687 good correction.
Already more subscribers than 90% of the other major bourbon channels in half the time and you’re not gettin’ beaten over the head with sponsors. Zbiotics anyone? 😅 That’s why I love this channel - fun, wholesome education and entertainment. That’s also why I’m a patron. Keep up the great work team 👍
Exact reason I went and joined the Patreon!
Old forester 100 is king for me. From standard caramel and vanilla flavors backed with a spicy proof, it’s the quintessential bourbon. OF100 is $25, great to mix, great taken neat, what’s not to like. So much value, such a beautiful whiskey
Agreed and I don’t think I’m a blind taste test any bourbon fan would cry or even hate in having of100 and 1910 and 1920
@@jshapiro34 I'm all in for the OF 1920 and 100, in that order, but the 1910 doesn't do it for me. The flavor profile (for me) falls flat in contrast to the similar price point 1920. I haven't found an option that compares to these two bottles for the price. Change my mind.
@@kookiedabear do you drink double oak WR ? Because your missing oak and leather and Cherrys my friend in 1910 while living in a fruit cake world in 1920
I smoke cigars so 1910 is a cigar to me it screams cherry nose with leather and charred oak taste which pairs well with earth and leather cigars or aromatic sweet tipped cigars like Steve Saka blends and dead wood tobacco’s
while the 1920 is excellent with chocolate/ vanilla style cigars because it rounds out desert with banana nose and Carmel and sugar banana taste
I think the 1920 is closer paired to the OF 100 25$ bottle just super lacking but same notes to me I pour it for friends that don’t tip or bring anything and use in mixed drinks but I won’t just sit around and sip OF100 as it screams vanilla and bland hints of everything else
@@jshapiro34 Yeah, I have/drink WR Double. Pairing whiskies with cigars is a different animal in contrast to taking it in on a clean palate. I stopped smoking to ensure my lungs will last long enough to see my boys into manhood, but I do miss the two together.
@@kookiedabear bro your lungs should be fine if you smoked cigars right!
I know plenty of people that do judo classes and workout 3-5 times a week and we all smoke 3-10 a week or one every day.
I try to smoke 3-5 a week and get 8-12 oz of liquor a week but with 12 hour shifts and school and gym it’s not always possible
Old Forester 1897 is my favorite Old Forester product. A great blind tasting!
Love the dynamic between you guys. Obviously a great relationship. Love the honest reviews and realistic take on the whiskey world. Keep it up fellas.
Hey Kurt! It would be MY 41 Year Reunion from HS as well :) Last fall, we actually had a 40 year down in Clarksville and had about 55-60 out of the 150 there.
Kurt funny thing is we are the same age and I have a son the same age as Trenton. Love your shows! Keep em coming
I always love to watch a blind tasting. It's funny how you can taste a favorite bourbon and not recognize the notes until you are told what it is, then all of a sudden you recognize it as an old favorite. The mind loves to play tricks......
Visited Old Fo last month. Great tour and enjoyed tasting flight that included the Birthday bottle. Learned a lot about their aging process and particularly was interested to hear how they select barrels to formulate their Original Recipe. Love Old Forester. Keep the videos coming. Thanks!
You guys make me smile and chuckle. Thanks for being such genuine fellas.
0:44 “Brand new ball game, sir!!” 😂 This is why I watch you guys.
Great video - well worth the time and enjoyable! 😃Camera was focused on the bottles in the back. 😉 Now I have to go get an 1897. I prefer 1910 and 1920 but need to remind myself what 1897 tastes like (my 3rd favorite of the Whiskey Row collection). Thank you as always for all that you do on your channel! 👏👏
Same age as your dad. SATs definitely existed in the early 80s. :)
Love your videos, guys. I like how you mix reviews with these blind contests.
Good job Rebecca on stumping the guys.
Can't go wrong with Old Forester. Probably not my absolute favorite but it is a great bourbon, regular in my cabinet, always happy to drink it.
I love the 1920, but all are decent .
I never liked Kentucky whisky and gave Old Forester a chance after watching your videos. And now, Old Forester is one of my favorite beands of bourbon, especially 1910, Statesman, and 100 proof! Thanks guys and keep the videos coming.
Old Forester 1920 is definitely my favorite
4:49 caused my drink to go up my nose. Awesome reaction! But this OGD 114 burns...
I get chestnut on little book #6 and St. Augustine, so much so, that it's the only thing I get on both those bottles. Also, Trenton needs to go to his High School reunion, he's a UA-cam star, how cool is that!
More Mrs. SLB!!!!! Until then, you two are very entertaining!
These vids are my favorite. Love the blinds. Keep em coming. And Happy 4th of July, God bless America
Trent was GREAT on this episode!
What a fun video. I've been a sub since the very early days and it's been fun watching your channel grow. I envy you having your son there with you. Mine is nearly a continent away now. Trent and i were on the same page with apple and green label. A wild turkey one would be fun given your affinity of rare breed.
Would love to see a Wild Turkey version of this for the next one.
They did
Awesome video gentlemen ❤
That starlight bottle is so tasty! Great video!
My high school reunion would be my 46th. Great video guys!
Son of a biscuit😂 i love it!
Another good video thanks
It would be neat to do a MGP video featuring approximately same aged whiskeys but how various distillers finish the MGP base.
Yes, please!
Another great video. Knowing it was a Brown-Forman product, I’d have been hunting for that banana note from the start. That would’ve been my only chance to get this one.
Trenton, I have only had this 1897 in the last few weeks and got that apple note as well. All in all, I would prefer it over EH Taylor Small Batch.
Great video!
Just wanted to write and say how much I’m enjoying your content; such a great channel! I even put together your lemonade, strawberry, jalapeño + tequila cocktail last night and looking forward to trying it today. Happy 4th of July from a neighbour to the north 🇨🇦!!
I liked the video, I hated the title of the video. You gave away the ending??? Can we guess the bottle or something like that maybe? Still fun stuff, cheers & have a great 4th of July.
@@zoolander221 so…why tell me?
@@paulkukiel3725 I have no idea, lol, I thought I replied into the general, but must have hit under your reply by accident, either way, have a great 4th of July, my bad.
@@zoolander221 😆 no worries! Us Canuckistanis 🇨🇦 celebrate on the 1st of July, but have yourself a Happy 4th of July!!
This was a tough one guys, great content.
This is fun. More of this
Journeyman! Please do some Journeyman distilling picks!!! Thank you as always for the fantastic content! Happy fourth to you all!
glad to see you found your adult shirt trenton!
Loved to see a Benchmark Full proof or SB guess.
Old Forester 1920 is my favorite Bourbon. I hate it keeps going up in price though. It's really getting up there in price
Great show! I think makers mark would be a good one to do next.
Class of 82 as well and a Islay afficionado.
LOL! OF is my go to and obsessed with OF SBBS bottles. So good. I still can never get the banana notes everyone talks about. BUT, for the next one, you should do a Sagamore Rye selection out of a grouping of ryes. Then after that, a Redbreast selection out of a bunch of Irish whiskeys.
Same, I never get banana but I love OF & JD SiB BP.
This was a fun one! How has Trenton never seen Liar Liar?
Fun video guys. Now I wanna grab a glass of OF 1897 😃. How about Sagamore or something from Jim Beam on the next one. Cheers
It was fun for us as well!
OF makes outstanding bourbons!
I recently tried a Starlight Maple Syrup finish and also got a funky malt kind of note
Love the video's keep them comming 'Merica!!! Your backstop on your bar is fabulous and as a fellow tradesman with a nerdy son (sorry Trenton but not really) whom I love so much I can so relate. Happy 4th guys!
Clearly people complaining about giving animals a chance at a good life are beyond insane. You and your volonteers are doing wonderful work for these dogs and the other animals.
I would love to see Michters American Whiskey, but you need to include the Sour Mash as one of the 4.
Love me some Forester 100. Price point and proof. Works for me
My high school reunion would 47 this year. 😳 Love all things Old Forester, especially OF SB Barrel Strength. 🥃
Would love to see a Garrison Brothers distillery review in the future
I give the Burp thumbs up for High Proof , Mouth feel and viscosity .
I don't recall you guys tasting Redwood Empire. They have some outstanding BIB and Cask strength.
I’d like to see a distillery review for Angel’s Envy, Makers Mark, or Wild Turkey.
It’s all relative: I went to 20 and 50 reunions. They were both fun. I opened a 1920 to compare it to a bottle of Representative and at least for a day, prefer the Representative.
WTF Trent? That yawn killed me.
Would ya'll consider doing a Japanese bourbon tasting? I know nothing about them but hear great things. Would love to hear your thoughts! Thanks guys! LOVE your show!
Love to see a lux row version
Have you guys ever done a blind tasting on just Toasted Barrel bourbon? I'd like to try a few, but I'd love to hear your opinions on some before I spend the money.
You nearly gave Trent whiplash! Ahahaha
Old tub in Philly 19.83
I wish I had your bar in my basement 😊
I graduated in 1982!
Which starlight was that?
I have a 1920 very good
@slbdrinks please try to do a mbroland review they have a wide variety
I wanna see a beam episode where you pick out Knob 12.
Love to see Glenlivet showdown
Sounds like this might have been the 3rd show for the Day!!😜🤣🤣🤣🤦♂️🤷♂️
Secondary thought, on the next crazy vs,,, first guess right gets 3 points for being correct, 2nd guess correct gets 2 points, 3rd guess (if needed) gets 1 point,,, and if there is a 4th and someone guessed wrong the entire lineup,,, they loose a point!!🤷♂️
“What are you doing?!”
“What’s it look like I’m doing? IM KICKING MY OWN ASS, DO YA MIND?!?”
Hard to get better for Independence Day than apple pie and bourbon. 🥃🥧
Rebecca gets 6 points on that round!
That was a funny. A regular height guy vs a midget. That had me rolling on the floor laughing!
Do a Starlight series next! They’ve got some good finished offerings
1879 is a tough one
SAT comment but Trent was classic!
Try woodford
Blenders Select is a good bottle
Do a Thomas S Moore finished series review. 😊
Don't keep mom behind the camera. Get her on the video ❤
Definitely!
Next distillery: Redwood Empire. That would be great.
I have a buddy that has of 1887 and I can’t see the 30$ difference over of100
My shelf keeps the 1910-1920 and 100 and nobody ever complains when I pour OF.
I didn’t care for 1897. Not a fan of the lower end 100 proof. Loved 1920. I could pick them out for sure.
Kurt, as soon as you nosed C and said green apple, I thought you had it…. Cinnamon sugar. Was positive you had it… then you called out a dank note…. That’s the banana… darn, stop second guessing yourself buddy…… you got this….
Don't be so hard on yourself Kurt. LOL Great video though.
how about a jim beam distillery challenge?
should of all been old forester products. 1897 bib is not my favorite. I could have picked out 1910, and 1920. I think 101 is better than the 1897.
You should have ranked your favorite to least favorite. Curious minds want to know
I say go with Penelope next time.
What was bottle "A" asking for a friend 🥃 Cheers
Widow Jane Lucky 13
Trenton's not looking very swole today. He losing his gains?
You two eat the same thing before the show?
Jim beam only. No knob Creek. And you are trying to find Jim beam single barrel
do I get a prize for getting it correct and i didn't even taste them. that dank oak must be the banana note
Punching one self in one self's face can be painful.
