You guys should consider this same exact blind say 4-6 weeks from now and see how everything plays out then - I’d love to see how different/same they would end up.
my sentiments exactly. how subjective are the results? or if you run this again with just 5 or 6 will they hold the same relative positions in the ranking?

Honestly I have had what I thought was a off bottle of WT101. Took me a while to finish it off. Didn't buy another for a while then bought a new one and it was good.

I think it’s slipping - the OF100 too. Never been a fan of the OGD…
It may be opposite day, but this just goes to show that palates can be different based on the day and the time of day and a host of other variables.

I think it goes to show that you can't sit there and taste 10 bourbons and expect your palate to not be skewed. Maybe 4 or 5 but 10 is just way too many to call it.

As a guy who recently fell in love with Maker's Mark Cask Strength, their Wood Finishing Series,
and their Private Selections (store picks), this video put a smile on my face.
Only eight minutes into this video.... This is a blast..... I'm thinking 90%of the drinkers out there drink at this price level , but still have that special bottle or two in the bar.... So far I've seen at least 4 bourbons I've tried but you are adding to my list... Great Show..

Big fan of 1783. It’s the cheapest of those available in PA, but that’s just a bonus. I like it better than EW b-i-b too
I agree. I think it's a better sipper. BiB is better for cocktails, IMO, but 1783 is a solid cheap daily sip.
I washed the whole thing and do agreed that Trenton and was partially responsible for the downfall of Bed Bath and Beyond going bankrupt😂😂
I've been fortunate to avoid retail jobs most of my life, but I can definitely understand getting flustered and having trouble focusing on exact change when you have a bunch of impatient customers eager to get to the next store.

I did a blind by myself the other night and Old Grand-Dad 114 came in dead last. It’s one of my all time favorites and is to me like WT101 is for you. It doesn’t really mean a whole lot. When you have 10 great bourbons in a blind, I bet you could have different results every day of the week.

As a general thought: While I love longer videos, situations like this mean you guys might have a hard time both due to overconsumption, palate fatigue, or time constraints meaning you can't fully stop and appreciate each one.
Rather than putting yourselves through that, consider doing a mini-tournament that spans the week? Easy content, still longer videos. Treat it kinda similar to Bourbon Madness but on a smaller, weeklong scale.
I've bought nearly all of these at one time or another, but I'm not a collector so I seldom have more than two or three at any given time. I'd love to do this blind because I honestly have *no idea* what my ranking would be. It would be nice to find, say, my top three with different taste profiles and then keep those on hand.

Okay, this is hilarious and surreal. I took a 10-day dry stretch and broke my fast with 1783. Two or three sips in I said, "I feel like this could fool me into thinking it's VOB in a blind." And what does Trent immediately compare it to? lol
I haven't had WT101 in nearly a long time and the bottles I had were from 8-9 years ago. Back in the day, before my bottles, it used to have an age statement (7 yrs?). Maybe they're resting on laurels and releasing younger stuff to push out more product.
OGD BiB did so-so in a big BiB blind I did. But OGD 114 was next level. It's worth the price bump.
I'm glad MM did so well with Kurt. Consistent, delicious products from a distillery with an unmuddled, genuine history. And Beam Suntory seems to have left them to remain awesome.
I enjoy Wild Turkey, but I am actually NOT surprised by the WT101 being in 10th place. I have tried 3 bottles now in the past 4 years, sipping neat and mixing in cocktails, and it tastes like cardboard and lacks rich flavors that I expect from bourbon. Not sure if WT has changed something significantly but this bottle has a big swing and a miss despite its general acclaim.

Great content guys!! 101 is my most reached for bottle, and I will say in the last year it seems like the 101 has gone inconsistent. Ive had a bottle that wasnt bad but I did notice I didnt reach for it much, and my most recent bottle I feel like is the best 101 bottle I've ever had.... and its going quick lol.

Both of you have $100 to wager. There are 6 blind bottles you taste and then bid on. Both must end with 3 bottles and minimum bid for a bottle is $15. That way you can go a bit crazy on a bottle but you can’t spend it all. Then who vote who has built the better lineup.

Nothing like starting my morning watching a bourbon blind. I stayed to the end. I don't mind the length at all. 10 bottles in a blind is insane, just cracks me up you tried it. Mayhem ensued.. I'll have to try Very Old Barton 100 proof and the Benchmark Single Barrel. Here in Kansas City, OGD114 is $26, OGD bib is $21. At our local grocery store, all three Redwood Empire core releases are $29.99. Keep up the good work....of course, I'd watch your channel if you were commenting while watching paint dry.

Def wanna see a top 5! I poured 7 of these 10 from my own stock and had the Mrs. Mix em up. Typically, my tastes tend to side with Trenton. This time I was more Team Kurt. And I TOO ranked 101 last and I love that bottle. Thanks for another cool show. Cheers boys!!

Making me appreciate entry Makers Mark again. I recently finished off a bottle of OF100, and the Makers offers a nicer coating of the mouth.
If we were talking oil viscosities, Makers is heavier than the high proof Old Forester and therefore enhances the experience for me 🎉 All these bottles hit so close to home 😅

In blind taste tests sweet is almost always initially preferred by most palettes (ie the old Pepsi vs. Coke challenge). When you want to savor and have an entire pour the sweetness gets overwhelming and more people will prefer a less sweet drink.

I suggest using the bourbon junkies rating system. 1-100. each of you score and add the numbers together to develop a ranking.

I think their scoring system is pretty solid for many/multiple bottles.

Yeah top floor is a fantastic pour for such a low proof and price. And the entire line has merit for the price.
I hear ya. Rough state for bourbon fans. Mostly just standard release juice and very little in the way of allocated. I've never seen Early Times BIB here in Bama. Luckily, I'm close enough to TN and better offerings.

Very interesting you guys line up with what I like, I buy 1792 over Old Barton, it not much more, and I do not drink that much, so I go for $25-$45 range mostly, Also at Buffalo Trace one can get Eagle Rare 10 year for $42.
Stuck in there till the end. I loved the WT 101 until I had the ET B&B. ET is my jam.
