Thank you, that was very helpful. Though I saw one small mistake and the last problem you did, which should’ve been 26 instead of 28. If you divide 104 by 28 it’s not four, but if you divide 104 by 2 680 = 4.

To simplify the -1 part you can look at the equation and see if it is positive or negative for example 3x + 3y and x + 7y are positive so in this case you would subtract the equations but if it were to be 3x - 3y and x + 7y you would have to add and if it is two negatives you add also. You're Welcome.

How do you decide to multiply in one equation by 2, and another equation set you choose to multiply one equation by 3 & the other by 7? It seems like random numbers are just pulled out of thin air?

If I’m not mistaken we turn the sign to negative when the number is bigger, for example if the above equation has larger numbers then it’s sign has to be changed to negative.

It’s actually crazy because when you first start doing A-Levels everything is quite a lot more difficult and when you look back at GCSE topics (like this) you think to yourself ‘how on earth did I not understand this? It is easy’ and I almost instantly understood this with no revision etc. Anyway that’s my perspective. Are you going through GCSEs now?

Apparently they sort you into groups for year 10 GSCE and that really freaks me out lmao. I’m glad you got into six form tho! I can’t wait to go
@@eviec4002 honestly don’t worry about groupings. It actually helps. During GCSE Maths I was in a top set but now in Sixth Form I’m at a new place and I’m in the bottom set, but that works for me because they work at a good pace and we only have 4 people in my class. In GCSE years the groupings are usually relatively accurate but there’s always room to move up a set if you’re doing well, so I hope that helps!

bring this back to 2023 like you did in my A levels helped me get through those with your explanations and now at Uni doing forensic science and doing chemistry balanced equations and you do it perfectly and again your videos have helped just remembering the basics and being able to do them again !!!
