I have been going through the minor differences in this ride between Hollywood Studios and Disneyland. Disneyland's version is apparently optimized to be more enjoyable for the third and fourth ride vehicles since some scenes have changed their timing to allow them to gain more context and view time of the scenes themselves. I find this very interesting and really nice of them to go through this trouble so everyone can enjoy the ride no matter which seat you're on.
Doesn’t that mean, though, that riders in the third and fourth ride vehicles are getting a “better” ride experience than those in the first and second..?
@@taffysaur Not necessarily. For the riders in the front, there are just some little minor changes made to time events for everyone else, like Mickey and Minnie getting launched out the tornado in the jungle scene, so it is perfectly timed for all riders when Mickey and Minnie actually appear in bush. It's really minor so it doesn't hinder the experience for anyone.
It's not "really nice of them to go through that trouble", it should be expected to provide an equally good experience for every guest, especially for a company as big as Disney. This is precisely why Disney theme parks have been going downhill recently: people are not only accepting, but applauding actions that are just "good enough" at best.
When I rode it in Orlando we got stuck right after the fireworks and before you pass the bird. We had to listen Mickey and Minnie making small talk and deciding to sing again and play the fireworks again over and over for like 20mins. The small talk was actually kinda cool the first time.
@Jesus Freak suff like how nice the weather is, and sorry for the delay. They like hummed along to the background music, just time filler stuff. We were behind them, so idk if they moved or anything. The bird above you sings off and on. After a while they decide to keep you intertaned by singing the song again.
They kept a lot more toontown than I expected. I honestly love the changes. The do nothing areas are great. The paint looks so good. The backdrop. I went to toontown back when it opened, and this just feels like the same thing all over again. They didn't change it, they just took what was great about toon town and made it better.
If you're indeed curious, the "brand new additional scene" is the covered bridge tunnel transition when the train cars are reunited with goofy and he drops all the junk on his head.
I'll be honest, I would absolutely buy at least a couple of those movie posters. I give it an 80% chance that you'll be able to do it once the gift shop opens up.
It already is JUST because it didn’t replace a remarkable classic in Great Movie Ride. The queue looks nicer imo. I do also think the entrance looks better in Disneyland than in HS. I love the Chinese Palace theater over here in HS, but something about the small scale theater makes more sense to me than the Chinese Palace. However, I still see the same issues I personally have, such as not much innovation with the trackless ride system and the sets still looking a bit empty and not as fleshed out, but it does look, if only slightly, better than the one over here in HS. All of this is in my opinion ofc 👍
there was nothing remarkable about The Great Movie Ride, other than it wasn't very good even in 1990. Was dated as hell and didn't have any upkeep, the licensing was also expensive as all hell....Sorry not sorry, it was time for it to go.
@@lutherheggs451 good thing we can agree to disagree. I respect your opinion tho 👍 for me it was a perfect thesis for the MGM park, bringing to life all sorts of scenes from all different classic films. Even if the ride wasn’t in its best shape in its last few years, it was nothing a refurbishment could’ve fixed. Plus, a Mickey and Minnie cartoon in the Chinese Palace theater that has nothing to do with the central theme of the park? Disney could’ve just as easily just make the Great Disney Movie Ride and it would’ve been a perfect replacement thematically. And they wouldn’t have to keep paying for the license rights. And they could even use the franchises and classic films Disney acquired from 20th Century Fox, and employ Star Wars and maybe even select Marvel scenes. Likewise, I’m also sorry I’m not sorry, it didn’t have to go and replace it with something no where even near as good, creative, endearing, interactive, or artistic as Great Movie Ride
I think it's great that they're referencing Plane Crazy more nowadays. I can completely understand why they were on the fence about it for a long time but it's awesome seeing them talk about it alongside Steamboat Willie.
It’s technically the very first Mickey short produced, and as such they hadn’t found their footing with his personality yet. At one point in the short Mickey grabs Minnie and forces her to kiss him, which isn’t a great look for your mascot.
Hey Dalen! I met you on Main Street (sorry for forgetting your name 🤦🏻♀️). So great to see this Vlog - I’ll be going to the parks next week & hoping to finally ride this! I really appreciate you talking about the amount of vloggers that are at these events - I try very hard to stay away from cameras when I can. Most are respectful, others not so much. My bf & I took advantage of the empty rides so luckily we did okay’
We loved Mickey & Minnie’s Runaway Railway at Disneyland! It is a definitely a new favorite for us. So happy that you got to experience it opening day. Also, it was wonderful to meet you at the park! Keep up all of the incredible work! 😃
So good to see you and Fresh Baked..I love it when you, FB and Chris Provost run into each other doing your stuff..It is so much fun to watch...I am 69 years old a previous cast member and Disney Freak...I love how Mickey has had such a great effect on so many generations.. Keep it up Offhand..love it
Noticed a glitch at 19:44, the smasher arch goes black and then reappears. Also, Goofy is looking the wrong way when he is talking to Mickey and Minnie. The Florida version they are on the left but on this version they are on the right. Guess they have not updated the animation.
While I’m still of the opinion that the attraction itself leaves a lot to be desired and relies too much on screens/projections as opposed to physical set pieces. However, with that said, that queue is truly special. Perhaps the queue is a more meaningful part of the attraction than the ride itself! I think the idea of a walkthrough Mickey exhibit where you can see different props or items from his cartoons is brilliant. I actually got a little choked up seeing the queue, and I just watched the video! Haven’t even been inside yet. But that queue just looked so adorable.
You should still go inside. The way they blend the cartoon elements and physical elements is pretty neat. My only criticism for the ride is that Mickey and Minnie’s heads look too globe-y. They could have at least given their animatronic heads noses, instead of just projecting their faces into globes, but at least they got the look of Daisy and Pluto right.
as a college student in florida who can’t afford to go to Disneyland, I am SO angry about how good this version of runaway railway is from an artistic and thematic standpoint… in hollywood studios the ride just feels so out of place like it was thrown in merely as an advertisement but in California, between the queue and the placement of the ride in toontown, it feels genuinely like a love letter to, not only old Mickey Mouse cartoons, but also the concept of cartoons in general and I am so incredibly jealous
PLEASE. This comment is soooo lame. The Studio bldg, Neon Sign, Q blows the Disneyland version away. The Facade and sign at Disneyland looks El Capi-cheapo! And, honestly, both rides are the same so stop pretending the actual ride at Disneyland is better than the other. It's not. And, if this nothing burger makes you angry, seek counseling. *mic drop*
@@streamverseai Maybe you the one that needs counseling, leave the keyboard and go out and socialize if you’ve got nothing better to do than to spread your negativity
@@streamverseai ignoring the fact that this feels like a troll comment because I could talk about theme parks for hours with anyone, it’s not that the outside facade of the florida one isn’t good… it’s very beautiful it’s just that it doesn’t fit the tone of the actual ride at all nor does the ride serve any greater purpose in telling the story of Hollywood Studios meanwhile the California one very much fits the tone of the ride and vice versa and tells a wonderful story about American cartoons
@@margoalex. Confirmed Trumpster. They are the ones who bully others, call them names, though can't defend their position with fact. Please, DO NOT have children.
Here's the 64 dollar question, was the queue climate controlled similar to what they do in Florida. I can imagine when that queue is wall to wall people it might feel like a mini-oven in there.
I never realised that likeing the Florida Runaway Railway was a controversial opinion. My family (which is 3 adults and a teenager) loved it when we went in April and went on it a total of 5 times in our 7 day trip, because we enjoyed it so much
Another thing I've noticed between the two versions is that the factory transformation isn't quite as intricate in California. At Disneyland, it seems to just be a change in the projections, but in WDW, many of the flats fold up into the triangle shapes of the trees as the projection transforms. Seems like no one ever brings that up. Nevertheless, this is a phenomenal attraction that my whole family adored when we went to WDW during the holidays.
I love how they used the "cartoons are real" concept of Toontown as an excuse to show props from iconic Mickey cartoons. It's so funny, almost a send up of the whole Hollywood studios concept, and also kind of magical, since it makes Mickey seem "real"
I’m so excited for toon town to return. Seeing the new attractions just over the construction wall looks super promising. I’m hoping they will have more Easter eggs scattered throughout the park.
Being a former projectionist + fan of Mickey Mouse, the references mean a LOT to me. Mickey and the Beanstalk was one of my favs. So much so I mad an audio recording which I would use to help me fall asleep as a kid. There was lots of LOVE given to this attraction. Walt would have been PROUD! Thanks Dallin! For having US for a ride.
Offhand I just wanted to say your content is incredible im suprised you don’t have more subscribers your content makes my day especially watching you’re content when I’m bored at school. Ps I hope you see this
funfact in the disney world one the projector is in the control room for all the projection over 52 media servers, it was almost the same for disneyland. All the video servers using the software WATCHOUT for the projection mapping. the conga exits the opposite way and the last scene with the picnic it goes a different path too
This queue was unreal! Rode it 2 days ago after a billion and a half rides on the Studios version, and other than the amazing queue and it being in Toontown already making it superior, the colors in the scenes were just so vibrant and beautiful! Love love love this ride, can’t wait for many more trips to the El Capitoon!!!
I felt the same feeling when passing through into the cartoon. I said to myself "I'm back in Florida." The same thing happened the first time I went into the Hollywood Studios Galaxy's Edge. It was eerie. Our queue is 100% superior to Florida's. I almost lost my mind when I saw the Mousekedoer. I watched Mickey Mouse Clubhouse fairly often as a kid and to see that was awesome. There are some things you expect to see, like the Sorcerer's Hat or references to the classic shorts, but seeing such a huge tribute to Mickey Mouse Clubhouse was amazing. It would have been super awesome and very fitting, though, if there was a reference to House of Mouse, but I didn't see one. As for the ride itself, I'm happy with the things that changed and I'm happy with the things that stayed the same. The only thing I'm disappointed about is that for YEARS we've heard that there was going to be a new scene in the ride and that Disneyland's would be expanded. The new addition that is in there is hardly an "extra scene." I don't want to sound like I'm complaining, but the new scene was pretty hyped up and didn't deliver. It really felt like it was there to pad out loading and unloading times so that vehicles wouldn't be stacked for so long, like they do in Florida. However, I do love the ride. Runaway Railway was my favorite ride at Hollywood Studios, and instantly one of my new top rides at Disneyland. I'm so glad I can ride it now whenever I want to.
I'm honestly shocked (and a bit sad) at the lack of nods to the animated series "House of Mouse", especially considering that this ride's queue line is dedicated to every era of Mickey Mouse...How or why that particular series got NO mention in ANY form (prop replica, poster, visual nod) is utterly bizarre.
@@R.444- Despite having been born in 1986, I actually remember watching and very much enjoying “House of Mouse” for two personal reasons: 1. People are always saying the MCU is “the most ambitious crossover in fictional media”. This is FALSE. “House of Mouse” is, because it managed to bring together characters from multiple eras and mediums of Disney animated canon (the Disney Channel animated television series character Pepper Ann and her mother got a cutaway gag style cameo in one instance) more often then not having their respective voice actors/actresses (this was impressive for the cameos from Disney animated movie characters that got spoken dialogue during an episode, as most had the voices of notable and expensive celebrities of the time) and even the non-speaking cameos were surprising to spot (the Horned King from “The Black Cauldron” was one I enjoyed seeing). The show was chock full of clever writing, great humor and really built off of the character quirks that were established in the various animated movies and tv shows that made up of the “House of Mouse” club’s audience. 2. It allowed a third chance for Donald’s three nephews (and my personal favorite Disney characters) Huey, Dewey, and Louie to finally break out of their seemingly eternal childhood and mature into young adults. I said “seemingly eternal”, as Disney only ever let the boys age past their default age range of 8-10 three times so far, although with not much long-term success, and they would then revert back to being kids again after each attempt. The first instance of the triplets growing up was in an episode of the original 1987 version of “Ducktales” called “Duck to the Future”, where their Uncle Scrooge McDuck is sent to an alternate future where Huey and his brothers are full grown adults, but sadly have little visual change to them aside from having adult body proportions and deeper voices. As a throwaway aspect to this episode’s plot, obviously not much thought or effort was lent to really developing the idea of how the three boys and their dynamic as triplets might evolve after so many years. The second attempt was (in my opinion) the most misunderstood, and it’s partially the fault of fans jumping to conclusions and as of recent date the Disney+ streaming service. It came in the form of 1996’s animated series “Quack Pack”, and featured the boys as 16-year-old teens, living in suburban Duckburg with their Uncle Donald, who had completed his tour of duty with the Navy and got a job with the now news journalist Daisy as her cameraman. The show did have a few issues, including being heavily dated in content and style. The biggest issue most have is that it was always believed to be a direct sequel to the beloved 1987 “Ducktales” series, and if you watch it with this train of thought in mind, it’s a really terrible show. Thing is, “Quack Pack” was never meant to follow up “Ducktales”. It’s not in the same universe, and is curiously a continuation of the old “Donald Duck” cartoon shorts that were released prior to the creation of “Ducktales”. In said cartoon shorts, there was no Uncle Scrooge McDuck, the world around Donald did occasionally feature human beings in the stories alongside Donald and his nephews (this was a big criticism of “Quack Pack”, people hated that humans were interacting with the Duck family). The issue is further complicated by the series description of “Quack Pack” on Disney+ outright calling it a sequel to “Ducktales”. It’s not, and the show creators never intended it to be. The third time we see the nephews get a chance at maturing past childhood was “House of Mouse”, and they seem to actually be a little older than they were in “Quack Pack” (in which the boys were supposed to be 16 years old). I’d guess the boys are probably around 18 in this series, and although their designs bear a bit of resemblance, the voices of the nephews clearly indicate they aren’t meant to be the same ones from “Quack Pack”. The running gag that they were always switching up the name and music style of their band was very funny.
@@R.444- Also, my two favorite episodes were the one where Huey, Dewey and Louie have a falling out and quit as the club’s primary musical act (as ridiculous and silly as it seems, the reason the episode provides for their split is sadly on-point for their relationship dynamic across most every series they’ve been in and is how three identical triplets would likely handle the situation). This episode is unfortunately really the only episode where this series’ particular version of the triplets get any actual plot focus aside from the usual quick cutaway musical performance or background appearance. My second favorite is the one where Scrooge McDuck bought out ownership of the “House of Mouse” club from Pete, and his first major decision was to fire his grand-nephews from their (assumed) paying job as the house band and replace them with a generic stereo boombox in an effort to save money…Ouch.
They took out the big fountain infront of Roger Rabbit? I liked that :( Excited for the new ride though, won’t be able to get there again till later this year.
Still think the Runaway Railway ride should've been based around famous Mickey Mouse shorts. Instead, imagine if it took you inside a scene from Steamboat Willie & Plane Crazy, then The Storm, then Lonesome Ghosts, Fantasia's Sorcerer's Apprentice, Fun & Fancy Free's Mickey & the Beanstalk & it all culminates in Mickey's Birthday Party. I feel it would be more timeless than the Flash animation/art-style. You could go thru each scene & experience ambient effects like rain, water, wind, thunder & lightning. In Runaway Railway, the trackless ride system is very cool, & the projections give everything a nice glow. However, it could all be put to much better use in a better ride which, stylistically & aesthetically, will get old, real fast.
I don’t even care about the ride itself. I’m just here for the queue. The Plane Crazy props are what I’m looking forward to the most. I’m so glad the plane even has the compartment for the dachshund. I was worried it would be solid. I’m bummed it’s not grayscale while the other props are
i rode it the second day and was so bummed to miss out on seeing you and other youtubers, but i loved the ride! unfortunately the standby queue was empty so they prob wouldn’t have let us go through there so i’ll just have to go back to fully experience it i guess!
The odd part of the ride is Goofy at the end is talking to the wrong side since the ending picnic scene is flipped. Not sure why Disney didn't fix this.
I loved the ride, it was awesome and much better in person. I think some of the people like Poseidon really exaggerated how mid the ride was. I went into it and I thought it was awesome. It was a wonderful mix of physical sets, digital stuff, and animatronics. It was a well blended experience. Also, did people love the queue? I loved it! It was full of mad Mickey nods and cool references for Goof Troop/Movie fans as well with one of the posters.
no I agree 100% while I do think some critiques are to be had with the ride I don’t think it’s as bad as some people say it is and given the right context (such as the Toontown land and the themed queue in California) I think there’s a ton of potential waiting to be explored with this kind of ride
I got to go for my birthday on the 30th and the two trackless rides at Disneyland are really next level. I love that they're making queues more and more interesting to be in, I feel like it helps tremendously with the long wait times for things like Rise of the Resistance. I cannot wait to see what new ride systems they come up with next.
Indiana Jones was basically peak queue and it’s 28 years old now. But yeah… lots of underwhelming queues after that. The queue for Flight Of Passage is stunning, though.
Idky but when Minnie spin kicks Pluto into the trunk and then it cuts to Pluto crammed in the trunk like 👀 why am I in here ... 😅😅😅 Gets me every time. Awesome video, as always 😊 ❤️❤️ love your content
Yeah, the room is going to be a gift shop. I’m guessing that either they don’t have the item as yet (since Disney is notorious for opening things and then finishing them), or that they are waiting until the rest of Toontown opens. If their waiting, it’s probably because they have merchandise related to the new parts of Toontown they don’t want to reveal yet.
IMO, even though the Disneyland version was amazing and didn’t replace a beloved ride like the great movie ride, I found the queue very overwhelming and a long wait just to get on the ride. Personally, I prefer the Disney world one because, even though it lacks scenery in the queue, and doesn’t have the Mickey stuff ‘through the ages’ or whatever, it still kept the Chinese theater design outside which to me, seems like a tribute to a loved ride that we’ll never forget. The design at Disneyland is rlly cool, but I love that they kept the Chinese theater instead of erasing The Great Movie Ride entirely.
Love watching 2 videos filmed at the same time. If you want to watch Dallin dance, go watch the video from that other page. That definitely looked like a fun day 😀
Here are some differences that I noticed (aside from the queue and preshow): *There are some ride layout differences: **At Hollywood Studios, the track begins to curve to the left before the first tunnel. At Disneyland, it begins to curve left after you've entered the tunnel. **The cars exit the dance studio to the left at Hollywood Studios and to the right at Disneyland. **Disneyland's version has an extra scene where you travel through a barn. **The Mickey, Minnie, and Pluto animatronics are placed to the left of the cars in Hollywood Studios' finale, and to the right in Disneyland's finale. *In the Hollywood Studios version, Mickey drives slowly and stops near the track switch, which takes a few seconds to fall. In the Disneyland version, Mickey drives a bit faster and bumps into the switch, causing it to fall much faster. *Both versions of the ride have different animations projected onto the walls in the western scene. *Different props are used in the factory transformation scene. For example, the trees are triangular and pointy in Hollywood Studios' version after the transformation takes effect. *Some scenes have minor texture and visual differences between the two versions of the ride. *Each version has its own easter eggs. For example, in the Hollywood Studios version, there is an advertisement for the "Great Moving Ride" in the carnival scene, which is a reference to the Great Movie Ride, a ride that was replaced by Mickey and Minnie's Runaway Railway. However, in Disneyland's version, this poster is missing.
One of the things I really appreciate is riding with you and other people who get into the spirit of the ride and try to vocally participate. That makes a difference. It's one of the reasons I enjoy riding with small children, they don't hold back.
Just gotta say you bring so much positivity and good energy to this world sir.. I'm really digging living through you vicariously with all your Disney adventures lol...major credit to your channel... You always have insightful and interesting content..I'm not a Disney super-fan persay lol but Id watch any of your material on this subject..
I absolutely adore the Mickey Mouse shorts this ride is based on. My wife and I found them on our honeymoon and now they’re a core part of our Disney Parks vacation. The Easter eggs in the queue and on the ride make my heart feel full. I would absolutely recommend watching the shorts and the Wonderful World of Mickey Mouse show on Disney+ before riding.
I wanna say thank you for meeting and say hi to my girlfriend. I was shocked and surprised she meet you. Also thank you for the acknowledgement video too. Have an awesome day Offhand!
I went on this February 1st via a virtual queue. The queue was empty, and 2 of the 4 vehicles for our ride were entirely empty. I really feel like this is a massive waste of such a great queue and a new ride to this coast. How many families came wanting to ride the new ride and were unable to? And the time when people want to sit in the queue the most is when they make sure there is absolute no line?!?!? If they can't figure out how to a semi effecient virtual queue, they need to just eat their words and do a standby.
They will turn the exit into a toy store later. And probably redo the food locations in the City Hall area -needs signs and tables Added in the interim before they reopen the Toontown land. around the area.
they really should have had your train do a rotation around the twister instead of just rotating to look at it. I always thought that was a space constraint at hollywood studios that would have been upgraded for disneyland
Thanks Dallin! You have learned much from your adventures! This here Vlog, a la nuevo, is very well done! Bravissimo! Yes, please, do continue with the travel, being there, style o' vlog! This was so fun going to Disneyland with you! Well... nearly! And you only missed the ghost appearing in the mirror by that much!
I think it would have been nice to have a Kingdom Hearts reference in there since Mickey's such an important character in that series. it wouldn't have had to be big or anything but like, Mickey's keyblade rested among the various props of the new era would have probably had weebs FLOODING the ride just to take a picture with King Mickey's Keyblade
It would've been cool, but the creator would have to then somehow fit the entire Mickey Mouse canon into KH's canon. That's the same reason why Sora was kept out of Smash Bros for years.
@Valhalla05 I mean not really? Since the entire line kind of implies that mickey in this ride exists beyond the 4th wall, King Mickey would just be another role he's played, it's possibly the one time where due to the acknowledgement of the 4th wall KH can get away scot free
Could you please do an in-depth video of what sceens you saw as you rode the railroad itself? I mean could you describe them? Also, did this replace Goofy's Barnstormer? That's the only ride I recall from Toon Town in Orlando circa 2003, as far as a railroad goes.
the only thing i will say about the overall ride experience is that i hate how the finale was switched sides over the DHS one because i liked how it all circled around mickey and minnie while the DL version is just a straight path which i don’t like as much But im aware this is nitpicking.
No, you have a valid point. I’ve not been on the DL version (or been to the park for that matter). Though, from videos of it, I can see how it’s not as smooth. Though, I think I would take DL’s version of HS. I wish they had kept the Great Movie Ride and put M&M RRW in Animation Courtyard. They could’ve taken out Star Wars Launch Bay and put the ride there, since we already have Galaxy’s Edge. An update to the Great Movie Ride would’ve been nice, tho.
I’ve only ever been on the DHS one but I think it’s poignant that I just honestly don’t really remember the queue at all even though I’ve ridden it twice. Wonderful ride, perhaps one of the best Disney has ever made. But I also think it’s worth pointing out that DHS’s compared to DL’s are in completely different parks and spaces with different purposes. It’s not that Disney was lazy at DHS, there’s just a different purpose to it.
Saw you on the 27th inside the Main Street Opera House as you were admiring the statue of the evil queen! Would’ve said hi but was being pushed along by family looking for a popcorn bucket
I walked by the front of the Hollywood Studios one in December, but I've never been on it. I only had two park days in Florida and the only reason I even had time to go into Hollywood Studios was that I knocked out every attraction in Epcot by 6PM. Then I did Rock N Roller Coaster and Tower Of Terror. I'll probably go to Disneyland and try this ride in September on a weekday.
Took a family trip right around March and man do I miss Toon Town. The runaway railway was sick but I missed the go coaster, roger rabbit and the open town area
My date and I loved this queue so much with the funny posters and disco memorabilia. The cartoon concession stand gags and beanstalk props are a delight.
The maintenance in Anaheim has been appalling for years, but shows signs of a turnaround. Practically everything was broken on Indiana Jones last time I rode it. Splash Mountain was in a sad state, too. Both of those are getting major overhauls, though.
I’m going to Disneyland in March while I’m visiting ca. I’m excited to go on this ride. I went on it and Florida and my friend and I rode multiple times because we loved it so much. The queue looks amazing even though the ride looks the same. I don’t remember the theatre but I was at Disney world during Covid where they were limiting numbers and just had people walk through the rides so that could be why I don’t remember the film/preview. Too bad I’ll miss the toontown opening by just a couple days.
Can you please, please, PLEASE!!! Let me know where you got that Pirates of the Caribbean loading melody?? The soft one we hear when the ride is over or we’re waiting to board?? I’ve purchased several Disney albums & it’s not included! I’m growing jealous - I mean desperate!!! 🙏🏻😬

I have been going through the minor differences in this ride between Hollywood Studios and Disneyland.
Disneyland's version is apparently optimized to be more enjoyable for the third and fourth ride vehicles since some scenes have changed their timing to allow them to gain more context and view time of the scenes themselves.
I find this very interesting and really nice of them to go through this trouble so everyone can enjoy the ride no matter which seat you're on.
that's amazing! love that they're doing that, everyone deserves to enjoy the ride to the fullest
Doesn’t that mean, though, that riders in the third and fourth ride vehicles are getting a “better” ride experience than those in the first and second..?

I love the Chinese Palace theater over here in HS, but something about the small scale theater makes more sense to me than the Chinese Palace. However, I still see the same issues I personally have, such as not much innovation with the trackless ride system and the sets still looking a bit empty and not as fleshed out, but it does look, if only slightly, better than the one over here in HS. All of this is in my opinion ofc 👍
Fellow theme park AND bleach enjoyer, I see you everywhere haha
@@ao9688 we must share similar interests lol 👍😂
there was nothing remarkable about The Great Movie Ride, other than it wasn't very good even in 1990.
@@lutherheggs451 I pity you good friend
5:33 Ok, but I would actually love a Goofy and Max parody of Freaky Friday.
I love how everyone in line is just chatting and goofing around while talking about all their favorite mickey cartoons... This is beautiful
this whole queue feels like a love letter to mickey mouse and it makes my heart so happy 🥺
I think it's great that they're referencing Plane Crazy more nowadays. I can completely understand why they were on the fence about it for a long time but it's awesome seeing them talk about it alongside Steamboat Willie.
Forgive me I’m out of the loop of Disney content, but why were they on the fence about bringing up Plane crazy?
I foresee that grassy area getting buried in strollers, like the fountain before it.
Honestly, good. Parents bringing their kids are some of the people who need it the most
@@rattyeelyI think they mean people will park their strollers there and leave them, meaning there won’t be as much room for sitting.
Hopefully it goes over most peoples heads
I want to ride this just to get a picture of myself replicating the "It's a surprise tool that will help us later" meme!
That’s how I felt about forbidden journey, tbh. The queue was way cooler than the ride itself.
as a college student in florida who can’t afford to go to Disneyland, I am SO angry about how good this version of runaway railway is from an artistic and thematic standpoint… in hollywood studios the ride just feels so out of place like it was thrown in merely as an advertisement but in California, between the queue and the placement of the ride in toontown, it feels genuinely like a love letter to, not only old Mickey Mouse cartoons, but also the concept of cartoons in general and I am so incredibly jealous
@@streamverseai this is the funniest comment I have ever read oh my god

Love the queue for this. Excited to see what the rest of room town ends up looking like
Here's the 64 dollar question, was the queue climate controlled similar to what they do in Florida. I can imagine when that queue is wall to wall people it might feel like a mini-oven in there.
@@Mike__B felt good, not too hot and I had a hoodie
Hopefully they keep Roger Rabbit around
@@Mike__B I can't think of any indoor space in Disneyland without AC. I'm sure it is, especially being new
I never realised that likeing the Florida Runaway Railway was a controversial opinion.
Aww, that was my favorite part of the whole ride
I love how they used the "cartoons are real" concept of Toontown as an excuse to show props from iconic Mickey cartoons. It's so funny, almost a send up of the whole Hollywood studios concept, and also kind of magical, since it makes Mickey seem "real"
Have you noticed on the ride that Mickey plays the ukulele, but has six strings on it like a guitar? Always notice that every time.
I'm happy to see that the MM Disco album was celebrated. I still have the 8-track!
I have a vinyl copy of it that I picked up at a garage sale.
All the video servers using the software WATCHOUT for the projection mapping. the conga exits the opposite way and the last scene with the picnic it goes a different path too
This is what Disney’s OG dark rides felt like to me as a kid. The fact they can create this is unimaginably cool.
Wrong but ok. Studios bldg, Neon Sign, Q line is superior in every way. Stop being so Disneyland biased smh.
@@streamverseai I’ve seen u commenting on the comments saying they liked Disneyland’s version more. Cant U just let people have an opinion man
I felt the same feeling when passing through into the cartoon.
I'm honestly shocked (and a bit sad) at the lack of nods to the animated series "House of Mouse", especially considering that this ride's queue line is dedicated to every era of Mickey Mouse...How or why that particular series got NO mention in ANY form (prop replica, poster, visual nod) is utterly bizarre.
they won’t even put it up on Disney plus, sad that the whole series seems to have just been swept under the rug I loved that show as a kid
@@R.444- Despite having been born in 1986, I actually remember watching and very much enjoying “House of Mouse” for two personal reasons:
I knew as soon as they announced it would be coming to Toontown it would be the better version. The theming just makes sense!
"Nothing Can Stop Us Now" gets stuck in my head even more than "It's a Small World." No lie!
I don’t even care about the ride itself. I’m just here for the queue. The Plane Crazy props are what I’m looking forward to the most. I’m so glad the plane even has the compartment for the dachshund. I was worried it would be solid. I’m bummed it’s not grayscale while the other props are
I learned this from the Disney TikTok page, but the popcorn kernels are actually shaped like Mickey in the popper!!
i rode it the second day and was so bummed to miss out on seeing you and other youtubers, but i loved the ride! unfortunately the standby queue was empty so they prob wouldn’t have let us go through there so i’ll just have to go back to fully experience it i guess!
The odd part of the ride is Goofy at the end is talking to the wrong side since the ending picnic scene is flipped. Not sure why Disney didn't fix this.
I think the dog turning the crank at 13:25 is Erica the Cruise Director from Shipped Out.
One thing I noticed in the DL vs DW versions is the track switch falls over at WDW. The switch is just slightly knocked to one side in the DL version.
Now that the superior Disneyland version is open, they can close the Hollywood Studios version and reopen The Great Movie Ride! 😂
Finally. Someone noting the weird idea of centering the celebration of 100 years of a global company in one 68 year old park
Was the exit props not finished yet? Looked like there was stuff behind the curtain.
It’s going to be a gift shop!
That definitely looked like a fun day 😀
Here are some differences that I noticed (aside from the queue and preshow):
*There are some ride layout differences:
**At Hollywood Studios, the track begins to curve to the left before the first tunnel.
I'm so happy that Roger Rabbit's sign is still on the outside of the building
One of the things I really appreciate is riding with you and other people who get into the spirit of the ride and try to vocally participate. That makes a difference. It's one of the reasons I enjoy riding with small children, they don't hold back.
Just gotta say you bring so much positivity and good energy to this world sir.. I'm really digging living through you vicariously with all your Disney adventures lol...major credit to your channel... Fun to see Fresh Baked Liz and Dave. Thanks for sharing Dallin.
How adorable that they have it set up like a museum!!! I love that so much!!!
this is crazy! i had no idea this ride was opening, let alone coming to disneyland! so cooll!!!!
My grandson is 4, and his favorite short is Lonesome Ghosts! He also likes Lend a Paw!
I wanna say thank you for meeting and say hi to my girlfriend. I was shocked and surprised she meet you. Also thank you for the acknowledgement video too. Have an awesome day Offhand!
This queue is brilliant.
Oh, wow, 12:26 is the crowning glory--Spud Lincoln!
Wow they knocked it out of the park with the queue. This is what they need to do at Disneyworld in general.
That queue is better than the one at Hollywood Studios
Could you please do an in-depth video of what sceens you saw as you rode the railroad itself? I mean could you describe them? Also, did this replace Goofy's Barnstormer? That's the only ride I recall from Toon Town in Orlando circa 2003, as far as a railroad goes.
So cool that the queue has references to almost every era of Mickey Mouse history, even modern stuff like Mickey Mouse Clubhouse.
the only thing i will say about the overall ride experience is that i hate how the finale was switched sides over the DHS one because i liked how it all circled around mickey and minnie while the DL version is just a straight path which i don’t like as much
But im aware this is nitpicking.
The "Pluto's Christmas Tree" props just made my heart sing ;)
I saw you that morning and didn't realize you recorded my wife and I until I saw this video. Fun times!
I remember having to wait an hour just to get into Toontown, back in the 90's
I’ve only ever been on the DHS one but I think it’s poignant that I just honestly don’t really remember the queue at all even though I’ve ridden it twice. Wonderful ride, perhaps one of the best Disney has ever made. But I also think it’s worth pointing out that DHS’s compared to DL’s are in completely different parks and spaces with different purposes. It’s not that Disney was lazy at DHS, there’s just a different purpose to it.
The dude from freshbaked is right behind you! How serendipitous!
Saw you on the 27th inside the Main Street Opera House as you were admiring the statue of the evil queen! Would’ve said hi but was being pushed along by family looking for a popcorn bucket
4:57 I can't find it - where is the mentioned earth mover?
The place is amazing! I do wish Toodles had some animation to it while waiting but still very stellar!
Super off topic, love that the video is exactly 28 minutes.
I can't wait to plan a trip out to DLR to ride the ride.
Sadly the fountain with Rodger is gone. :(
I walked by the front of the Hollywood Studios one in December, but I've never been on it.
I was there Tuesday and the same cast member ushering you along with the red hair helped us too haha
1:25 - evidently they think it is "A MUST C" (see).
It’s amazing how at WDW it is cost cutting, cost cutting, cost cutting, but yet at Disney Land there is no cost cutting.
The maintenance in Anaheim has been appalling for years, but shows signs of a turnaround. Practically everything was broken on Indiana Jones last time I rode it. Splash Mountain was in a sad state, too. Both of those are getting major overhauls, though.
So was anyone else bothered how they treated Pluto in the beginning at 14:32 ?? Like everyone in my group couldn't get past it for the entire day lol
At 22:35 I literally paused the video like 3 times because I thought the fire alarm went off in MY house lol
I like where it says “it’s a modern mousterpiece” the red letters spell “ a must c”
I’m here at Disneyland right now. Going to runaway railway today.
11-18-1928 is also mickey's birthday. I very much enjoyed you and fresh baked walking through the Q. Cant wait to see it for myself one day thanks!
The queue is way better than wdw but that's it.
It was nice meeting you at Rope Drop dude! MRR is a fantastic ride.
