For the life of me, I don't get why the WWII refugees from Europe weren't just brought to the U.S. Our country had a LOT more room to accommodate them than Palestine had. In the end they took nearly a third of them but the boat returned to Germany and the Jews ended up being sent to Poland in the ghettos then packed into trains and dropped off at the concentration camp.
