Top episode, Russ!! Seriously one of your best so far, both in content and in your video production! Absolutely LOVE the Alpinist, glad you still have it!
That's a stonking collection on its own. Had/got a few of those myself - my favourites are the Willard ( not my poshest watch, but just something about it) & a True Pogue ( yep, a minefield- swapped a Ducati for mine!!!) - had a Flightmaster, just didn't gel with it at all, & an Alpinist which I loved but was just too small for my tastes. Good video thank you Mr Mad 👍🏻👍🏻
Super show mate felt like 5 mins it was that entertaining 👍 what your wife said mate is gold and to bring in hour daughter at the end was awesome 👌👍 Keep up the great work my friend
Wow i can tell you put your heart and soul into every videos You put out. Amazing quality work! I really enjoy your work. Keep up the good work! Thank you
GET OUT OF MY MIND! 😁I just spent a good 45 minutes trolling the Internet looking at Pogues thinking to myself "oh man, a lot of these have got to be crap...." , when a notification popped up for your video...will be extra careful now with your timely advice! A solid collection, representing a lot of Seiko's greatest hits. Cheers!
That alpanist is absolutely stunning. This is the watch that truely peeked my interest into the world of watches. It's still top 3 on my list of watches I want in my coection
What a collection mate, the highlight for me was the pogue, been researching them and found some interesting things about them. Also love the willard and miniature turtle 🐢. And great to see Mr Pagani make an appearance.
If you have questions about a Pogue I may be able to help. The “true” Pogue is a 6139-6005 (not 6002 as some sites suggest). Also has a water resist dial, if it has all these then you pay big for them but beware there are MANY that are not what they appear to be.
I never thought I would see what a perfect Saiko collection would look like. Today I was proven so wrong. This is an absolutely mad Saiko collection its perfect in every way and all of these watches I have dreamed of owning one day.
I’m new into serious watch collecting and this is my favorite watch UA-cam channel! Your reviews are informative yet funny and fun haha. You’re like the Mac Demarco of the watch world.
Awesome selection of Seikos MWC! It’s easy to forget sometimes what an important brand Seiko really is. If I could pick one from your Seiko box it would have to be the SARB 033. Or the Alpinist. Or maybe the Flightmaster? Hmmm, the Willard does look really nice on the Uncle Seiko bracelet come to think of it. But I love that texture of that PADI dial on the Mini Turtle. And the Pogue is such an icon. Maybe I just need them all 🤔💸😂 Fantastic show as always MWC 👏👏👏👏
Have worn a watch for decades but stuck with timex, G-shocks, Casio, and Citizens. All have been great watches but nearly a year ago I purchased a king turtle with green waffle dial SPRE05. I absolutely love this watch and this led to additional Seiko purchases. I since have purchased two Samurais - white waffle dial and dark save the ocean, and the 2019 Arnie! All are so awesome. I need that mini turtle PADI. Seiko has ignited my love for watches. I will be purchasing other brands as well, but I think am a Seikoholic…. That Marathon is in my sights.
i feel like everyone with a serious large scale collection needs a flighty, an alpinist, and a turtle. no questions asked. can be vintage or modern, no snobbery to be found on that level.
Thank you so much for your comment my friend, I appreciate that a lot. These watches are bought in the thousands and reviewed in their hundreds and I just wanted to put my twist on things.
A mad collection for sure. I own a few of those in your collection and love them. I am looking for a regular Seikoholic anonymous meeting if you know of one. Can’t stop wearing my flighty with a Balinese bracelet and practicing my slide rule skills. Using it as a timer for total CPR elapsed time at work. Thank you for being hilarious.
I forgot you had so many Seikos! Thanks for going over them, very fun. Man I have been so tempted to EITHER buy the Arnie or the Flighty. Yikes decisions decisions.
Eventually you’ll have both!!! The ARNIE would be the winner for me! Someone said they are going for £300 on Amazon right now?!?!?!??

Among the many things I like about your channel is the "What The Wife Said", which is definitely a factor many of us at least consider. She's the first person to see our choice of the day after all hahaha
MWC, you have one grrrrrreat colletion of Seiko beauties. Like you, I think that if I had to say goodbye to the rest of my colletion, only keeping the Seikos, I would be very well covered and would have planty of variety. Thanks for sharing.
Awesome collection that reflects the variety in the Seiko range I mentioned under the teaser picture you posted here a couple of days ago. I’d add an odd vintage Seiko 5 in there. Dirt cheap, so it doesn’t hurt as much as with the Pogue should some, uhm, weirdness come to light later. Found a nice little 5 from my birth month (April 85) on Etsy last year.
Solid! Thanks for taking us on the tour. That olive Capt. Willard is *CLEAN!* I couldn't agree more about the OG Alpinist vs the newer release - there is simply no need for a cyclops date; it throws the balance off and is just a little too much on an already busy dial. The OG green SARB is an absolutely beautiful watch. Again, thanks for taking the time on an absolutely great video, going into the mind of of TMWC 💛 For better or worse, you may have talked me into a -Baby- edit: Mini Turtle 🤦🏼🤷🏼
Very nice collection… Seiko is for sure my favorite brand. I do wear Swiss brands some…but for me, once you find your favorite Seiko’s its hard to wear anything else. I really enjoy the Seiko Showcase…well done.
Your wee Quine has taste. She loves the blue strap, well done lassie. (Quine is Doric for girl, a boy is a Loon) everyday a school day. Great show Sir 🏴👍🏴
Another belter Russ, well done mate. What a lovely collection you have there, pretty much got all bases covered I have to say. Oh yeah and go get an SPB143- yes they are pricey but worth every penny trust me! If you want new though you’ll have to live with the lume at 3 o clock, or seek a 2nd hand one out like I did….cheaper too 😬
Lovely collection, I love the wife’s comments, very succinct and no filter! Very nice mixture of styles. Highlights for me are the mini turtle and the alpanist. Gotta love an Arnie too. Great entertainment video as always pal. 👍🏻👍🏻
I love Marathon. I have a GSAR 41mm and the Navigator 41mm and I love the tritium tubes!!! Tough watches! Thanks for sharing your Seiko collection! I love Seiko!!
Nice selection, really fancy getting a Willard in my collection. I sold my Alpinist a few years ago, just didn’t like it that much. Still got four Seikos in my collection though, the SKX009J, a flightmaster, a Lordmatic (my birth year watch, serial number checks out it rolled off the production line the same month I was born) and a gen 1 Orange Monster.
@@THEMADWATCHCOLLECTOR good luck. I had to risk ebay, it was sold as in good working order, it wasn’t. Paid £90 plus £30 shipping from the states and after an extra £140 and three months at a good watch repair centre it was all hunky dorey, like you say ebay and vintage watches are a mine field.
Awesome collection. It is good to see Seiko getting some love. I started buying Seikos in the early 70s because I couldn’t afford Swiss watches. I adore the 6139; but mine, completely original, is showing its age. Nonetheless, it will never leave my collection. Thanks for another great video.
Great fun Russ. Love the green turtley /willardy one, love it. I see Marc at Long Island has been at it again and produced a poguesque watch! The little devil …it looks great.
For me... Seiko is just a Seiko... Here in Switzerland this thing is invisible in many stores (imagine making a service, it's a MI thing), I had a Seiko (Chrono Quartz) a long time ago. I was more on the Casio side, you find these watches easily in stores. Now, my fav. brands are... Certina, Tissot and Mido and Swatch. Nice video and nice Seiko Collection.
Thank you for watching my friend! It’s great to get your opinion on the general watch market where I dare say most ofvthe watches for sale would be Swiss made!!!! Casio isn’t a competitor to any brand up to a point but this is interesting to know
I love Seiko. Currently I have the blueberry batman and the Brian May II with the gold coloured case and the six string NATO strap. I love both of them.
I like how your daughter sneakily flipped us off! I think the Flightmaster is my favorite of the bunch. I’ve almost pulled the trigger a couple of times. I’m sure there’s one in my future!
I just discovered your channel and it is absolutely brilliant! I love the energy and comedy and of course the watches! Super interesting and very entertaining! New sub and looking forward to more content!
Thanks Fletcher!! King Turtle is definitely a maybe ! Tried the stealth black Samurai but it looked too big for me on the wrist ! Plus I was too distracted by the Tuna!!!!;)
Brilliant show, just before I viewed it I was looking on ebay for a box for my watches, and hey presto the first thing I see is your watch collection box "spooky" lol.
Very nice collection you’ve got, I sold my Vostok collection this last week with what is going on atm. Bought a Seiko 5 SPRD63K1 and an Orient Defender 2 with the proceeds.Brian May V2 coming tomorrow. Your Arnie is my favourite but I’m not sure I could carry it off. Although I did wear a 51mm Garmin for years.Seiko and Orient now my brands.
If I can carry an ARNIE off you can! Check out the stealth black Tuna I reviewed in a set of 3! Big case but from the top to the bottom on your wrist it’s a great size !
I’ve got my first seiko and first automatic watch to add to my collection the Seiko watch I got is the Seiko SRPK33K it’s beautiful watch my collection mainly contains quartz watches, or solar watches. It’s great to have an automatic in the mix and I’ve definitely got the Seiko bug I’m getting some more Seiko watches throughout this year. My next seiko watch I’m getting is the Seiko Prospex Speedtimer SSC813P Panda dial I absolutely love my watches. I’m obsessed with them eventually I’m gonna get myself a Rolex. My first luxury watch is going to be a Tudor
Hi Russ, lovely little collection of seikos. I've only got 3 now, the BFK the spb051 and my sla043. The 62 mas is my favourite seiko diver by design , and I absolutely loved the sla017 when it came out. But the 051 is a beauty too. I did manage to bag the sla043 for a great price , and it's a stunning watch. Seiko at it's best, but I still might sell it. The reason being it's just a tad small for me. Although the sla models are expensive, they are so beautifully made. If you get the chance to own one, then get one because the 40mm is perfect for you. I love the pogue too, and I'm sure seiko will rerelease these at some point for a premium price. Great vid as always man , always a hoot !!!
Thanks for the advice on buying old watches on eBay. I was very close to buying an old Seiko 5 but my fear was how long will a 40 year old watch last. I've now bought a Seiko SRPD51 and very pleased with it
Yet another great video, I love your style of presentation, keep it up please. I thoroughly enjoy your take on watches - also love the wife’s opinions…. had me laughing out loud.
Nice to see a Seiko collection. It was the Orange Monster that got me into Seiko watches, I have one, and a king samurai Shu Iro. Don’t think you can go wrong with Seiko.
really enkoyed this one and happy I found your channel! following another video of yours , I bought the Casio A158. next one is going to be Seiko (ARNIE!!!)
You're surrounded by brilliant women - you're wife and you're daughter. Keep their opinions coming! Also, nice collection. Im not a huge fan of Seiko right now because their recent releases have left a bad taste in my mouth, but your collection reminds me of why they have a great reputation.
I didn’t realise it till I shot the b roll that my collection had half discontinued Seiko’s in it! Probably tells you all you need to know! Thanks my friend!
Loving the Alpinist and Arnie the best ... the Pogue is soooo eye catching with that gold dial but definitely a mine field ... a bit surprised no Presage yet?
Terrific video Russ and what an impressive Seiko collection you have. Love them all especially the Pogue. Wonder what your next Seiko will be ??? Enjoy and all the best my friend 👍
Lovely collection of Seiko beauties! Recently picked up the Flighty and it’s rarely off my wrist! As much as I’d love to own some more luxury brands… I keep spending my money on Casio and Seiko - still… can’t complain at that 🤣
I am at 8 Seiko watches. Only surpassed by Victorinox in my collection for quantity. I have to say my two favorite Seikos are my Sea Urchin black and Sportura Kinetic Polar. If those two watches were the only ones I could have the rest of my life, I'd be fine. I've got watch boxes full of more expensive options and boxes full of cheaper. The two Seiko watches I mentioned specifically have held my eye for years and wear so comfortably. I always have a new favorite but when the dust settles I always have an eye for these.
Michael from my retro watches is going through an illness right now he caught the cancer and could use as much support as possible just wanted throw that out there for him I'm sure he can use as much support as possible
Excllent vid making me appreciate the Willard a bit more too, a definite future consideration, I am much more of a Seiko man these days, over the last 20yrs never really looked at them (save for the Pogue as I had a Moon watch fetish, but the shysters on eBay with incorrect dials, markings etc put me right off) my watches had to be Swiss and top dollar; a stupid mindset kept them all though, but these days I am enjoying the Seiko brand, have a fair few with the SNXS79 with Sapphire and Oyster bracelet, SNKL41 the baby of the baby GS, Flighty, SKX009 and 007 with an SRPD71K (that may be exiting stage left soonish). Sold my SARB017 as could not get on with it, the colour, the gold it was trying too hard for an Explorer type watch....missed the new 033/035....was thinking of one but inflated prices for a well used example keep deterring me. Think the black alpinist may be next....
Hi Russell. Thanks for the shoutout mate appreciate that. If anyone wants educating on the rocky road of Pogue purchasing I am always happy to help!
Main thing is if it looks too new, especially the lume then it’s at least an aftermarket dial. Remember these watches are 50 years old!
6139 is ICONIC and Russell didn’t really discuss this in much detail but this movement was very nearly the world’s first automatic chronograph, some argue that it is the first mass produced. All this in 1968/69 then of course Mr Pogue secretly took his into space to time his engine burns because he had trained with this and was only given his Omega days before and he did not trust that as he had no experience with it.
I will leave you with this conundrum, how does a non hand winding automatic only watch actually work in space?????!!!!
You’re very welcome and thank you so much too Michael! I didn’t want to give too much away as it will be a future episode.
With regards to your last statement… 😉
@@THEMADWATCHCOLLECTOR whoops…
I always understood that the space station itself is low gravity, not zero gravity so the rotor would still rotate? May be completely wrong though!
Unfortunately this 6139 looks like a classic Philpino rework sh***ter watch. There are several unscrupulous sellers on ebay in the UK that attempt to pass these off as being in good original condition. I only buy vintage Seiko from the US, Australia or Japan to avoid this issue!
@@lawrenceh7182 I think it's that there is still inertia in space & so the watch will still wind

Still got four Seikos in my collection though, the SKX009J, a flightmaster, a Lordmatic (my birth year watch, serial number checks out it rolled off the production line the same month I was born) and a gen 1 Orange Monster.
That is cool!! I need a birth Seiko!!!!
I’ve literally just seen this myself Dom and messaged Marc! Great watch, he doesn’t miss a trick does he!?
For me... Seiko is just a Seiko... Here in Switzerland this thing is invisible in many stores (imagine making a service, it's a MI thing),
I had a Seiko (Chrono Quartz) a long time ago.
Double W! Got to get one!
@@THEMADWATCHCOLLECTOR Soon….I can feel it!
Got the arnie about a month ego. Love it. Will be getting the urban safari automatic or as it is known: the analog Arnie next month.
Superb my friend!!!
I just loved all of this Russ.
Cheers Ian!!
I just discovered your channel and it is absolutely brilliant! I love the energy and comedy and of course the watches! Super interesting and very entertaining! New sub and looking forward to more content!
You are very kind my friend thank you! Look forward to chatting more in the future!
I am surprised to not see a King Turtle or King Samurai in your collection. Try one out, I'd bet good money that it will make it into this collection.
Thanks Fletcher!! King Turtle is definitely a maybe ! Tried the stealth black Samurai but it looked too big for me on the wrist ! Plus I was too distracted by the Tuna!!!!;)
Awesome Seiko's collection! Thank you very much for sharing! 😎
You’re welcome my friend, thanks for watching!
Spotted the MASK logo in background 👌 🥰🥰🥰
Yesssss!!!! I was waiting for someone to spot it!!!! Classic!!!!

A fabulous Seiko selection, really enjoyed that Russell !!
Cheers Gavin! Appreciate that a lot !
Brilliant show, just before I viewed it I was looking on ebay for a box for my watches, and hey presto the first thing I see is your watch collection box "spooky" lol.
Hahahahaha wow! Well are you expanding your collection my friend?;)
@@THEMADWATCHCOLLECTOR Slowly, as much as the bank allows me, "Lol".
I have the same watchbox. Haha. Great video man. 🤘🏻
As usual a highly entertaining and informative production....👏👏👍
Cheers Mark appreciate that!
Awesome collection and video mate. I'd love to add several of these to my own Seiko collection but especially that Alpinist.
Definitely a nice little collection my friend! I think I could live with just this collection!;)
Best Watch reviewer on the planet
Brian!!! You’ve made my day today!!!!
Great collection enjoyed the video
“Looks like a beer mat” sorry but she’s right lol. Thanks for another fab video :-)
Hahaha cheers Martin!
Great show thanks. I got 5 Seiko. It”s probably my favourite brand even if in Switzerland you have to explain…
Hahahaha love this Christian!
Thanks for the advice on buying old watches on eBay. I was very close to buying an old Seiko 5 but my fear was how long will a 40 year old watch last. I've now bought a Seiko SRPD51 and very pleased with it
Nice collection Russ, a bit of variety in there, and good value watches as well. For me, the Padi, 143, and Sarbs were the top 4.
Great choices Denis!!
Yet another great video, I love your style of presentation, keep it up please. I thoroughly enjoy your take on watches - also love the wife’s opinions…. had me laughing out loud.
Cheers Chris I appreciate that a lot!!
Nice to see a Seiko collection. It was the Orange Monster that got me into Seiko watches, I have one, and a king samurai Shu Iro. Don’t think you can go wrong with Seiko.
Lee thank you for watching my friend!
Great seiko collection Russ, we almost have the same models. Just noticed your daughter was flipping the bird though 😂
really enkoyed this one and happy I found your channel! following another video of yours , I bought the Casio A158. next one is going to be Seiko (ARNIE!!!)
Seiko are great watches I have at least 30 of them last time I counted them.
Amazing!!!! Favourite????
Hi Karl! I’m not a dressy fella and presage’s just don’t speak to me as I’d never wear them! Some of the dials are superb though!!
Terrific video Russ and what an impressive Seiko collection you have. Love them all especially the Pogue. Wonder what your next Seiko will be ??? Enjoy and all the best my friend 👍
Thanks Felo! Probably the SPB143;)
Lovely collection of Seiko beauties!
Recently picked up the Flighty and it’s rarely off my wrist!
As much as I’d love to own some more luxury brands… I keep spending my money on Casio and Seiko - still… can’t complain at that 🤣
Thank you my friend! There’s nothing wrong with that at all!!
We’ve had a private chat my friend. I’m 100% here if he needs me Dillon !
@@THEMADWATCHCOLLECTOR I was just letting everyone else know, honestly I assumed that you knew 😊😉😊😉
This is superb my friend! Well I’m glad your finally a Seikoholic!!!;) the black Alpinist would be my pick of the new ones!
