Great reaction, thanks! I always sell this song short, then I listen to it and wonder why...it's such a good song. They don't all have to be the heaviest or fastest. The live performances are really great. It will never crack the top few spots of my list of favorites, but it definitely deserves to be acknowledged for how good it actually is. I've enjoyed your reactions to Babymetal and can't wait for the next one! 🦊 In regards to the song meaning, I always appreciate that they play with universal themes (light and dark, hope and despair, etc.) but keep it general and vague enough for you to interpret the song as you see fit.
in a world full of darkness, BABYMETAL is a shining star of light, in my darkest hour I found them and they saved my life and gave me a reason to live. I don't care what anyone says, they are the best band in the world and I will forever be grateful and loyal to their cause. long live the BABYMETAL, #notacult BABYMETAL 4 life.
one of the things i absolutely love about Babymetal is the fact that their songs have such a good meaning and positive feel. it makes you feel happy or at least better than you were. the words in Monochrome where it says no matter how long the night the morning will arrive is so positive. in Brand New Day there is a line where Su says you will be alright now and you can believe her. metal doesn't have to be dark. this metal that is light and positive makes it special. yes there are songs that are just fun but even those can make you feel uplifting. there are song that are great crowd participation songs that make everyone there part of the show which makes it better.
A lot of Japanese metal and rock has positive lyrics on top of hard rock and metal instrumentation, especially, it seems at least in my limited experience, female bands. One reason why many of my favorite current bands are from Japan. Peace
Great reaction, thanks! Yes, they master on these incredible intros (they are only on the live performances, not part of the studio versions) and transitions (probably one of their best features when it comes to composition). And then, there is Su-metal. I admit this is way out of my alley musically and the studio version didn't hit me so much at first. But a few listens later, the song started to grow on me until it hit me emotionally, probably because of Su-metal's amazing vocals. And then, there is the live version, which I absolutely love. Suzuka mentioned in an interview that this was the most vocally challenging song from The Other ONE. Until next time! 🤘🦊
Babymetal is that escape from all the crap of real life. It's a world where everything is good and people from all walks of life get along and forget about differences. I cannot imagine anyone is thinking about dark times when listen to Babymetal. It's the way music should be. We all need an escape and that is why I am very much opposed to any band or artist forcing politics or current events into their music. I will never support anyone that does that.
Nice one. The first couple of times I heard this song the disco beat at the start threw me off a bit (long story, I won't bore you with why I don't like disco) .... I knew to wait for the live version before making my mind up of course - and I was right to do that, it is improved by the live instrumentals and the slightly different timings of a couple of parts from the studio recording.🦊
This is one of my faves from the new album.... I found myself holding my breath, as Su sings higher and higher notes, and when she comes back in after the pause.... Soooo Satisfying..... 🥰🥰🥰🥰😁😁😁🤘🦊🤘
My favorite lyrics of all Babymetal songs! Definitely pulls on the heartstrings and the messaging is ambiguous enough so that most folks can find a personal connection of some kind. Love it!
👍 👍 Man this LIVE pro shot with the crisp clear vocals of Suzuka, Moa and Momoko and the beautiful visuals and of course instrumentals of the Kami's make realize just how great this song is.
This song hit me pretty hard, it came out during a time when a loved one was very ill, and lines like "A night where hope and despair seek and play together" and "This love is strong, I'm sure it wont stop" and "This love is strong and I will never let go" really hit harder then it would normally... Have no clue if translation is on spot but here we are... I have been a Babymetal fan since 2015-16 and none of their songs has hit harder then this one, mostly due to timing I suppose. Even today when my loved one is out of danger I can't listen to this without tearing up.
Thank you for reacting Babymetal. I see you reacted the recent songs except few early songs. Perhaps it is good time for you to react something from Su-metal solo and other 2 dancers song? Suggestion: Akatsuki or No Rain No Rainbow by Su-metal and song of 4 or GJ by Black Babymetal.
Great reaction again! It's a great song, especially the live performance. However, I don't oftenly listen to this song and I was wondering why until watch your reaction. I felt this is the darkest and sadest song of Babymetal. It gives the vibe of being in an infinite darkness with only a candela of lightness of hope. Even though the light has brightened a lot by the end of the song, it's still really really dark.
I would suggest that you watch the Jon House reaction. He seems to have found the full version which completes the story of the new third girl Momometal. Remember your Kleenex!

Cool you found the live version of this.🦊🤘🔥
Thank you for always listening to the songs so carefully.

It's one of my favorite BM songs, but for some reason a lot of people don't like it. The vocal performance is one of Su's best, imo.
Love this peformance. The voice of an angel😇. 🦊 🖖❤

I wasn't all in on this song until I saw the live version and it is amazing!
