Thanks for this reaction, Babymetal really know how to use contrasts and still make it consistent into a song. Babymetal is full of fun contrasts anyway, the ladies or girls dancing to metal being the first people notice.
Nice reaction. They even included mirror elements in the video that are not obvious when you first watch it. The video uses clips from both the Black Night and Clear Night concerts at the PIA MM Arena in Yokohama on 1st and 2nd April ... if you look closely when they show what looks like double or mirrored shots of the girls one image is from Black Night (darker costumes) and Clear night (new shiny costumes and Momometal finally has her own headset and microphone). BABYMETAL's songs are so well crafted and then their attention to detail is second to none. 🤘🪞🦊🪞🤘
Another excellent reaction/analysis, thanks! I'm impressed you covered every single aspect of the song starting with the panning used on that intro. It's a little detail, but it shows the level of production of the album (this MV has the studio recording of the audio). Then, the progressive metal part which is the actual beginning of the song leading to some metalcore (which I enjoy a lot). The pre-chorus has a really cool modulation apart from quoting the freaking Shakespeare, and that's my favorite part. And then, they drop an incredible chorus, very, very BABYMETAL style. Not to mention that they decided to add a brutally hardcore breakdown (the basic metalhead inside me really loves it!) Until next time! 🤘🦊
The album 'The Other One', which contains this song, it is positioned as a concept album with each songs having its own theme. The theme of this song is exactly 'Mirror'. What is the world in the mirror and what is the real world?,.. it's a song like. The big circle of the center stage at that time is also taken from the album title 'O'. Life and death, beginning and end, Buddhist reincarnation? ,.. it is like.. Well, I'm not sure, though, ha. This video clip is from a studio track in the MV? The DVD / BD of this Yokohama live show has been released, so you can listen to Su- singing live of this song there. Thank you from Japan!
Another really good recommendation is “a lot like birds - trace the lines” it’s such a hidden gem! the instruments and the vocals along with the meaning of the lyrics of the song is just so beautiful, no one has done a reaction to it yet
One of SuMetal's favorite song, the proggy elements is also something many fans like in this track. It was the last single released (5th) from this album and they've been rotating this song during recent World Tour live shows.🦊🤘🪞
Musically, I wasn't a big fan of the song when I first heard it as it was pretty heavy and angsty sounding. But now that I've listened to The Other One a bajillion times, this has now become my favorite song from the album. The seemingly disparate parts never clash, and actually end up enhancing each other quite nicely. If you haven't had a chance to see a video of the live version of this song, the intro plays up the whimsical synth parts in the chorus!
