For anyone interested that happens to be in the USA Midwest, the Galloping Ghost Arcade in Brookfield, Illinois (which is probably the largest arcade in the country, it is absolutely AMAZING...$20 and you can stay as long as you want, all the games are set to free play....500 + games) has working cabinets of Primal Rage 2, Tattoo Assassins and Chimera Beast. :) They may also have others listed here, they have a TON of awesome stuff.
I had an opportunity to play one of the Dredd test cabinets in Chicago, at an arcade called Dennis' Place for Games (RIP Dennis). It wasn't all that bad, tbh. Hit detection was rough and it definitely needed better animation but with some fine-tuning, I think it would've been decently received. In some regards, it reminded me a lot of NARC. And as rough as the digitized graphics look, it's important to keep in mind that games like Pit Fighter were still in arcades back then, so that presentation wasn't bad for its time.
FUN FACT: Albegas was supposed to be the THIRD Voltron, the Gladiator version and toys were created. However, it was cancelled due to the extreme popularity of the Lion Force Voltron.

The Judge Dredd game isnt too bad, with some work it would have been fun. Primal Rage 2 IS finally playable, albeit on a custom MAME build. Plays like a bit clunkier Night Warriors with special canceling, and if it too had work, it'd had been a worthy rival to Darkstalkers.

Great vid, that Starblade 2 would've been awesome, btw I got that chimera beast on a emu pack with about 80 rooms (MAME) fully playable for Android don't think it's available on Google Play anymore as they keep on removing it, and putting back up under a different name, but it tends to pop up here and there the app goes by Arcade Gameroom try looking for it,last time I found it it was on Apk pure, might be available somewhere else too, thanks again.
RubberyCat He became beefy in the late Eighties, when the large eagle shoulder pad was well and truly established. Earlier Dredd is a wiry guy, more like an Olympic athlete than an Olympian God.
I've played Judge Dredd and Tattoo Assassins at the Galloping Ghost Arcade near Chicago. They have Chimera Beast as well, but I haven't played that one yet.
I find myself fascinated by this one arcade game called Asylum. It's clear the creators must have thought it was going to blow the doors off the arcades since it offered secret codes for Asylum merchandise upon finishing it - it just didn't get released for whatever reason. Besides how weird and violent the game was I don't know why exactly, also it was to be released at a time when weird and violent games were prevalent. The unreleased game had some really obvious bugs, weird hit detection and was curiously short. It's a hell of a ride while it lasts.
Capcom Fighting All-Stars looked so awesome! I would have played the crap out of it in the arcades. Spellsinger looks interesting, I really liked the graphics from that one. Great job Pete, love this series and learning about games that almost were!
I don't know of any footage from an actual machine but ROTR arcade has been in MAME for a number of years: ua-cam.com/video/YMHpCEwo2IY/v-deo.html A working cabinet (the only known instance left; the other two I know of are buggered) did however recently surface and I've been talking with the bloke who's servicing it :)
Saw somebody working on one of these on ukvac just before Xmas, rubbish game to compliment the ugly cabinet, bet there’s not many around these days though
A note about Albegas: In the United States, World Event Productions, the company that had the cartoon and toy distribution rights to Lion and Vehicle Voltron, had been eyeing the Albegas anime as a third season of Voltron. Of course, the whole deal to license Albegas went south and WEP couldn't buy the licensing rights for it.
Capcom fighting all stars!!! Didn't even know that was nearly a thing! That would of made an awesome console game... Great video again mate smashed it!
I would have played the crap out of the Capcom fighting game and the chimera ones! I can't remember if it was in cracked.com or tvtropes.com but I've read about that Tattoo Assassins game before, it was a pretty interesting read Great video as always!!
This video made me realize how I always concentrate so much on cancelled games on consoles and handhelds, that I never even thought about arcade games getting cancelled aside from SEGASonic Bros. and Capcom Fighting All Stars. The latter kinda hurts, because that means that we would've a full 3D model of Demitri. Also an odd choice, in crossovers, Demitri is the last choice, possibly because of Midnight Bliss... I think I'm going to get out of my comfort zone to find stuff as interesting as this.
That's great, if I've encouraged you to check some of these out then that's a result! SegaSonic Bros. will most likely make an appearance if I do a follow-up video.
Good video as always, Pete. My ears pricked up when you mentioned Tattoo Assassins, as that's one game I'm very familiar with. There's a couple of videos the I've seen that commentate on the game and pretty much tear it a new one, lol.

thank you. finally someone giving ex plus alpha the love it deserves. it was great game and you´re actually the first person to agree with me on that that i know of. also in total agreement with capcom fighting allstars looks like it would have been tremendous fun.
I would add the american version of beatmania IIDX GOLD, it even had a location test with planned e-amusement network support (feature also planned for the american arcade version of DDRX), but it got cancelled at the last minute sadly, thought IIDX GOLD itself did release in japan, so i dont think it belongs in the list
I remember a few of those being featured in Magazines. Especially that Judge Dredd game. I think I assumed that had come out to no reaction at all. Tattoo Fighter looks kinda abysmal. Like it's running at quarter speed or something. Some pretty neat looking games you dug up there. That Spellslinger one looked pretty advanced for the time.
Ah, is that right? Still, Tattoo Assassins doesn't look like my kind of game; like I said, I prefer the aster paced Capcom fighters personally. Spellsinger looks great, I love the art style.
*edit* (i remembered wrong real info below in my second post) i remember reading spell caster was running on Atari jaguar type hardware and could do really ridiculous stuff like unlimited sprites on screen like you would in sega saturns dragon force series and other specialized features and techniques, read that write up along time ago like before assembler games forum was even around maybe, like a forum like snes o rama or maybe even romhustlers forum which i was an original member of... unfortunately that information is lost too that annals of times.
Interesting stuff. It's a shame when info like that is lost, so it's great that so many museums and websites are now preserving the hardware and information.
@@onaretrotip ok i was wrong about it being jaguar hardware though it did use texas intruments tms chips which were 32 bitwhich a majority of the atari and midway arcades used so maybe tom and jerry are related too those processors of course thats an assumption but this link should give you all the hardware details straight from the source www.francksauer.com/index.php/component/content/article/15-games/published-games/22-ultimate-tennis
Knowing Marble Madness 2 was in development is incredbile news haha, still crack out my NES copy of the original from time to time. I'm dreaming of the day an open world Judge Dredd is made where you go round dealing with crims like the True Crime Series. Fascinating video
Ah, spotted that in the intro did you? There will be a full bit on MM2 in part 2. It's a shame there haven't been more decent Judge Dredd games over the years, because there's potential there. Thanks mate!
to clarify: accessing the boss rush in judge dredd is impossible during normal play. the game's test menu has a starting wave option, and picking wave 27 starts you off in an unfinished boss rush that softlocks the game after you beat precious leglock most insight on the game out there is from our website where we interviewed two staff members who worked on the game, if you wish to see more gaminghell.co.uk/JudgeDreddInterview.html
That spellsinger would have been great to have seen. It's a shame publishers didn't have more faith in the 2d style back then. I might try the judge dredd game it looks interesting
Agreed. A real pity as the 2D style has aged so much better than 3D. Look at the big 3D games of the PlayStation era for example, and most of them look pretty awful now.
Nintendo's Sky Skipper. It didn't get an official release aside from a Atari 2600 port until recently for the switch. Apparently Factor 5 were instrumental in the preservation of the ROM. There's also video footage of Sunsoft's Vs Lionex for Nintendo's Vs arcade machines, but no ROM has been preserved. There are bits of Flea Pit preserved on the Pickford Bros.' website, a project that eventually became Plok for the SNES. Then there's Universal's Mrs. Dynamite. Nothing known exist but an arcade flyer with screenshots on it. It looks similar to Namco's Warp-Warp or Hudson's Bomberman. I assume it held some connection to Universal's Mr. Do franchise based on the name.
Sky Skipper will be getting its own special episode at some point in 2019. I'm friends with Alex who was instrumental in getting the game out there, and have been in contact with him and Whitney Roberts about doing an episode solely on Sky Skipper. I'll contact Factor 5 as well about their part in it, so hopefully I can get a statement from them at least. Thanks for the info on the other three; I'll check those out!
Thanks! Oh, Street Fighter EX Plus Alpha? It's great, and it's very affordable on the original PlayStation. It started as an arcade game, Street Fighter EX, then they released an upgraded version called Street Fighter EX Plus. Plus Alpha is essentially the console version of that. I love that game, and still play it today. I've been working on a video on it actually, but it's been slow going so not sure when I'll get it finished.
Thanks! I'll take that as a compliment. I didn't include it because it's already appeared in another episode in the series, but if I do a part 2 I'll definitely include it ;)
Probably already else mentioned Primal Rage 2 which yes never commercially released but there's a cabinet of it's most finished version at the Galloping Ghost arcade as well as another unreleased arcade beat em' up Beavis and Butthead.
It's funny half of these games are at galloping ghost arcade in Chicago. Tattoo assassin's plays much faster than the video shows. They have that there as well
@@onaretrotip it is. Plus it's amazing the owner doc Mac finds these rare treasures. He even has tattoo assassin's and Beavis and butthead. What a great place.
Slipstream was a 2D sprite-scaling based (a-la-sega) F1 racing made by Capcom for the System 32 arcade board. Only 150 PCBs were made before being cancelled.
@@onaretrotip yeah, a shame since the game was pretty rad with very accurate details. But being test released in 1995 could be the reason why it got pulled out.
Overall a nice collection of unreleased games, including a few I hadn't heard about. As for your Tattoo Assassins footage, the game doesn't play that sluggish on the arcade cabinet, and should run at full speed in MAME. As for unreleased games, check out Last Odyssey Pinball Fantasia for the NeoGeo. It's one game that I have always wanted to play. There are a few prototypes known to still exist out there, but they do not want to share the ROM.
Thanks! I heard that Tattoo Assassins actually runs a bit faster than shown here. I researched Last Odyssey Pinball Fantasia - shame that the only available footage is so poor. If they won't share the ROM they could at least do a decent recording.
Gremlins I scrapped due to lack of decent footage. I cut out Primal Rage 2 because it's already been in another episode in the series, but it will be in part 2. So will Beavis & Butthead (Galloping Ghost have said I can use their footage).
I'd have thought Capcom Fighting All-Stars would have featured Morrigan from Vampire Hunter. Also, Tattoo Assassins were written by Data East's _pinball_ division. _Chimera Beast_ has (very) few hints of _Saint Dragon_
Spellsinger looks fantastic! Hammer away also looks pretty good...who knew someone made Lemmings for arcade😮 Wasn’t sky skipper cancelled? Don’t know if that’s already been covered😂 Top video Pete really interesting👏🏼
Agree! Spellsinger looks great, and Hammer Away seems like a decent shooter (although I guess we've seen it all before). I'm actually planning a Sky Skipper special, so it'll be getting its very own episode. Thanks, Steve.
Chimera-beast?(couldn’t quite make out the name) was “too weird” or was it “too ugly”? Great idea, though. I would like to see what could be done with it today. Rogue-like shooter/assimilation has you trying to make it to the top of the food chain in an ever evolving world?with infinite combinations of animals and sea-life to discover/assimilate?!? Also, with less phallic-like “The Thing” visuals and more evil phallic-like “HR Giger visuals?!? Um yes please! Where do I sign up for programming school?
Yes, Chimera Beast. Yeah, absolutely love the concept, and would like to see it used in a modern day shooter. Definitely similarities with The Thing visually. Love that film.
I actually cut it as there's only footage of the arcade cabs (rather than captured gameplay), but it will probably make it into part 2. Galloping Ghost arcade have said I can use their footage.
Some decent looking games there Pete buddy.... I think I prob would of played and liked them all back in the day..... but I'd defo have liked hammer away... I know it looks similar to loads that was out around that time but I think that's why I would like it 😂👍 great work as always buddy 👍👍
Another cracking video Pete! It's a shame about Spell Singer, it looks like it could've been something really great. I can sort of understand why it was canned though, I'm guessing by '95 everyone was looking for shiny 3D graphics with their arcade games (as they were with their home console titles?). Either way it's got a nice Guardian Heroes look about it. Hammer Away looks like it might've inspired Under Defeat, that adjustable angle of fire is very familiar, it's got a bit of Raiden about it as well. Judge Dredd looked nuts, I'd much rather have had that than the shitty Stallone vehicle that came along.
Thanks, Owen! Yeah, agreed, Spellsinger looks great. Yes, I'd imagine that its 2D style was one of the reason they thought they'd "missed their window" with it, as by then 3D fighters were starting to become hugely popular at the arcades. Hammer Away looks good, although there were a lot of Raiden-like vertical shooters at the time. Not so sure about Judge Dredd, but as I said I bet it would've been popular among many.
Chimera Beast is hard to look at visually, that's the first thing that came to my mind. So I agree it must have definitely been cancelled as it was just too weird! Another great compilation, Pete!
I would so have liked Judge Dredd, Tattoo Assassins and Spellsinger to have been completed. They looked like they could have been great fun. I think though the Judge Dredd gameplay needed tightening up in the contact hit detection.
Did anybody else _literally_ laugh out loud when they saw "Judge Dredd"? My God, that is the worst stand-in actor I've ever seen for a digitized sprite. It's like when "Spider-Man" shows up at kid's birthday parties, but he's all tubby and out-of-shape and can't do anything, haha. That really put a smile on my face :) Great list, man - tons of interesting stuff here. I'm especially into that "Chimera Beast" game at the end; that seemed to have a ton of cool ideas! For your follow-up, maybe you'd like to show off "Tenth Degree"? If you've not heard of it before, it was going to be Atari-Midway's fourth(?) VooDoo 3D Powered Arcade Fighter, after _War Gods, MACE,_ and _Bio Freaks_ (which had it's arcade release cancelled, but the home ports for N64/PSX released because they were too far in development already). Now it's been awhile since I looked into it, but iirc, it was complete enough for a location test and may have had a few units sent out. I also remember reading somewhere that the reason they cancelled it was because they went to E3 that year, saw _Tekken 3,_ and decided they couldn't compete with that so they just killed 'Tenth Degree' as well as any other fighting game that wasn't 'Mortal Kombat 4' in development (Primal Rage 2 might have been another casualty). I believe that's also why there was a bit of a lull in new fighting games from Midway post-MK4; they really had a bit of an identity crisis and had to rethink their fighting games to compete with Japanese-developed titles better. I think that's also why 'MK Deadly Alliance' was so crazy in terms of overhauling MK's gameplay, and bringing in various elements from Japanese fighting games - weapons like in Soul Calibur, fighting stances like in Virtua Fighter, etc. But that's just conjecture. What's neat about 'Tenth Degree', besides the fact that its technically a much more solid fighter than MACE or War Gods (sporting things like reversals and fall recovers), is that it's one of those western manga/anime-inspired titles from the time, like with Monolith's SHOGO, Bungie's Oni, Valkyrie Studios' Septerra Core, or (fellow cancelled title) Bits Studio's RiQA. I have no idea who the artist was that did the character portraits and whatnot, but it looks real good! Albeit, derivative _as hell_ - it's real easy for Fighting Game fans to look at 'Tenth Degree's' roster and see their Cammy, their Mai, their Sofia from Toshinden, their Terry Bogard/Cody, etc. While incomplete, it works fine enough in MAME, so you should be able to find lots of footage, but it sports texture/material glitches resulting in some bland backgrounds and things like wrists/ankles not displaying. It might also be running a little slow, I dunno for sure though. Screenshots exist for it in magazines like GamePro that show it off the way it was supposed to be. Another Atari-Midway cancelled Arcade game from the era that ran on their Voodoo FX board was "WAR: Final Assault" that looked a lot like a really colorful version of Quake 2, but sometimes it was in third person? Might wanna look into that one too. I remember digging up old GamePros a few months ago and seeing previews for a couple arcade games that ended up getting canned, but those are the only two that are jumping to my mind right now. I remember being bummed by both back in the day though, as I would love to have played the inevitable N64 ports - especially for 'Tenth Degree' as that console could use all the fighters it could get ;) Again, terrific video as always. Love discovering some neat-looking obscurities like these!
Haha maybe their actor didn't turn up and they had to use the closest person to hand... Dave, the studio's janitor. Thanks a lot for the info, I'll be researching those two and hopefully they'll make it into part 2. Much appreciated!
@onaretrotrip Besides Primal Rage 2, there's also this nice looking Beavis And Butthead arcade game that was never released: ua-cam.com/video/ZD5JuRc7fN4/v-deo.html

I would have LOVED "Chimera Beast"!!!
Thanks for the vid!
Yeah, it looks interesting. Hopefully I can make it to Galloping Ghost arcade one day to play the actual cab. Thank *you* for watching!
Another great video mate, would love to see another installment. Did a great job finding footage Pete!
Thanks mate! I think a follow-up is definitely on the cards.
Lots of work gone to waste. I especially liked that fantasy themed game at the start. Graphically very pleasing!
Indeed. Always a shame to see. Me too, I love that art style, Wouter!
Apparently Kyo Kusanagi from the KOF series was supposed to be a guest character in Capcom Fighting All Stars, more reason to be sad about the cancellation.
Ah, didn't know that! Interesting.
Yeah, agreed. Starblade looks brilliant! Thank you.
Bloody hell, Judge Dredd looks chunky in that arcade game. He’s supposed to be thin and wiry.
Also, where’s his gun, knife and baton?
By which I don’t mean “he’s not got a gun”, I mean that doesn’t look like Dredd’s gun. He doesn’t shoot lasers.
Hahaha I know, right.
Dredd thin?
Are you joking?
Sure, he's no Mr Universe, but he's also definitely no sprinter nor Bruce Lee.
I remember him as pretty beefy.
Yeah, they have loads of cool cabs! Using some of their footage in part 2 actually. Would love to go.
Ooh, sounds interesting. I'll check it out! Thank you.
Capcom Fighting All-Stars looked so awesome! I would have played the crap out of it in the arcades. Spellsinger looks interesting, I really liked the graphics from that one. Great job Pete, love this series and learning about games that almost were!
It's All Fun And Games Me too! I would’ve been all over Capcom Fighting All-Stars, and I love Spellsinger’s art style. Thanks, Dom!
I appreciate the use of various music from Capcom fighting games in this video
Thank you! Got to love the Capcom crossover soundtracks.
Excellent video, some great looking games we missed out on there. 👍
Thanks, Douglas! Absolutely - a few look especially good (potentially).
Very nice parallax scrolling in spellsinger.
Oh, it's gorgeous. And I love the art style!
Is there any footage of the cancelled Rise of the Robots arcade machine? It appeared on an episode of Bad Influence once.
I don't know of any footage from an actual machine but ROTR arcade has been in MAME for a number of years: ua-cam.com/video/YMHpCEwo2IY/v-deo.html
A working cabinet (the only known instance left; the other two I know of are buggered) did however recently surface and I've been talking with the bloke who's servicing it :)
" Eell-o you... "👀👈🏾
@@PhilBennett3D Nice, it could be the cab that was on Bad Influence, surely they didn't make too many.
I can use MAME footage for that one, so it may or may not make it into part 2. Thanks for the suggestion, Larry!
Saw somebody working on one of these on ukvac just before Xmas, rubbish game to compliment the ugly cabinet, bet there’s not many around these days though
Great video, as always. Love this channel. Keep up the great work.
Thank you so much! I'll certainly try.
Interesting stuff!
another interesting and well put together video Pete , really enjoyed this unreleased series mate 🖒
Thanks a lot, Craig! I really enjoy doing these ones.
Great video Pete! i never considered cancelled arcade games before :)
Thanks mate! There are some interesting ones out there for sure.
First time I heard of an Albegas arcade game (when I heard of the series, it was planned to be adapted into a Voltron series).
It's an interesting one for sure. As a kid, I was always fascinated by those animated arcade games like Dragon's Lair.
That Sir, was a great video. Never seen this channel before. Subbed and I look forward to more. Bravo!
Thank you very much, Julien! Welcome.
Capcom fighting all stars!!! Didn't even know that was nearly a thing! That would of made an awesome console game... Great video again mate smashed it!
I know, I would've been all over that! Thanks a lot, glad you enjoyed it.
I would have played the crap out of the Capcom fighting game and the chimera ones!
I can't remember if it was in cracked.com or tvtropes.com but I've read about that Tattoo Assassins game before, it was a pretty interesting read
Great video as always!!
Me too, I would've definitely liked to play those two and Spellsinger. Thanks!
pirataga I have tattoo assasins on my pandora box it’s actually kinda fun especially if your familiar with mortal kombat
Hahaha not surprising!
Cancelling Capcom Fighting All-Stars is a big mistake, all that Capcom needed for this game was a huge roster that is as big as Capcom vs SNK 2, like:
1. D.D.,
2. Death,

WHYYYYYYYYYYYY don't Capcom ever use the Power Stone fighters in these games???
Ken Masters the power stone cast has been so under utilized I’ve only seen falcon in the background in cvs2 which is sad
Chimera Beast is the number one!
One of those originally game development CP.BRAiN data programming that have alpha version was corrupted and faith with Chimera Beast.
The developer of CP.BRAiN decided to get killed the project.
Which was released Prototype version by Jaleco.
My very first game installment of Our Internet Wargame Universe with Chimera Beast is the good times to see popular creature is Eaters.
My gosh, I was become one of my famous creature designer and mechanic fighter ship designer to this!
Yeah, it looks interesting that one, with some good ideas.

Wow that spellsinger looks amazing those 2d graphics are stunning. Gutted that Starblade sequel also never made as I love the original.
capcom all stars I think would have been a massive hit, such a shame
Tattoo assassins 😂😂😂 oh dear...
Another great video Pete loving this series
Agreed - Spellsinger's art style is just gorgeous. I would have also liked to have played Starblade and Capcom All-Stars. A shame indeed. Thanks, Scott!
thank you. finally someone giving ex plus alpha the love it deserves. it was great game and you´re actually the first person to agree with me on that that i know of. also in total agreement with capcom fighting allstars looks like it would have been tremendous fun.
Absolutely love EX Plus Alpha - one of my all-time favourites.
Excellent video, I appreciate your research into this subject. Great stuff!!
Thank you very much, Dan! Glad you enjoyed it.
@@onaretrotip I did and will share with some of my gaming friends.
Really enjoyed this thanks Pete. Judge Dredd also looks like it has a bit of a Narc feel about it at times
RetroManCave Thanks, Neil. Glad you enjoyed it! Yes, absolutely; definitely a Narc vibe there.
The first game looks so good, man I wish I could play that. Totally reminds me of Dragons Crown.
Me too, Marcus! Definitely a Dragon's Crown vibe there.
Great video, man. You also get bonus points for including music from Marvel Super Heroes and X-Men vs Street Fighter in this video! :)
Thank you! Haha yes, awesome soundtracks.
Holy shit that data east fighting game looked like you were fighting under water. I know it was a proto type but fuck
Haha I know, right. Some people have said that it actually runs a bit faster on MAME.
I played a real Tattoo Assassins machine at the ReplayFX festival. They were advertising it as one of the worst fighting games ever made.
zxthehedgehog42 Hahaha that’s hilarious.
That's sad. I hope they release them.
Yeah, although interesting for me, it's always very sad making these videos.
Yeah, released games are a no-go mate.
Great great video!! Sharing it on my Facebook game group!
Awesome! Thank you, Kevin.
I remember a few of those being featured in Magazines. Especially that Judge Dredd game. I think I assumed that had come out to no reaction at all. Tattoo Fighter looks kinda abysmal. Like it's running at quarter speed or something. Some pretty neat looking games you dug up there. That Spellslinger one looked pretty advanced for the time.
its not running at that speed. for some reason on the video is shown that slow. play it on mame to see it at its real speed

Thank you! Ah, I can't remember, but it's from one of the Capcom fighters (Marvel Super Heroes or X-Men vs Street Fighter probably).
@@onaretrotip no problem thank you!
Cool vid pete . Hammer away looks very reminiscent of the raiden series possibly why it was cancelled ?
Thanks, Paul! Yeah, that could possibly be one of the reasons. Looks decent that one.
Keep these videos up, you make really good content!
Thank you very much! 'll certainly try.
Knowing Marble Madness 2 was in development is incredbile news haha, still crack out my NES copy of the original from time to time. I would have loved the Judge Dredd side scroller as I enjoy all things related to him.
Thanks mate!
to clarify: accessing the boss rush in judge dredd is impossible during normal play. the game's test menu has a starting wave option, and picking wave 27 starts you off in an unfinished boss rush that softlocks the game after you beat precious leglock
most insight on the game out there is from our website where we interviewed two staff members who worked on the game, if you wish to see more
gaminghell.co.uk/JudgeDreddInterview.html
the gaming hell youtube thing Yeah, I saw that it was discovered a while later and wasn’t actually a playable option. I’ll check it out, thanks!
Rollerxcore it’s pretty sweet. 1st level has a mini Goro being walked on a leash! Too bad it never got finished.
Wasn’t City Diver going to use the same 3D technique that the 3DS uses?
I'm not sure. I did wonder that, as it sounds like the exact same technology, but I couldn't find anything that explicitly said so.
very interesting information, loved the video, excelent work, subscribed
Thank you very much!
Some really interesting games there, great video!
Thanks a lot, Andy!
Interesting list! I would also love to play that 2D/3D beat 'em up you described first.
Part 2 needs Primal Rage 2. The one flaw with this video would be fixed if the second part were to contain Primal Rage 2.
Thanks! I'll take that as a compliment. I didn't include it because it's already appeared in another episode in the series, but if I do a part 2 I'll definitely include it ;)
I love this series!
Thank you!!! :)
Probably already else mentioned Primal Rage 2 which yes never commercially released but there's a cabinet of it's most finished version at the Galloping Ghost arcade as well as another unreleased arcade beat em' up Beavis and Butthead.
Indeed! I didn't include Primal Rage 2 as I've already covered it in another episode, but both will be in part 2 (which I'm currently editing).
It's funny half of these games are at galloping ghost arcade in Chicago. Tattoo assassin's plays much faster than the video shows. They have that there as well
Yeah, I've seen some videos of the cabs there. I'll have to pop in if I'm ever in the area. Looks awesome!
Ooooh, interesting! Thank you very much.
@@onaretrotip yeah, a shame since the game was pretty rad with very accurate details. But being test released in 1995 could be the reason why it got pulled out.
Min Nohara's Channel Of Fun Probably. Most arcade racers had moved on to 3D by then. Looks great though, I’ll definitely include that one!
Man, hearing that magician lord music just makes me wish they made a sequel to that one...
I can only agree with you there!
There was a prototype sequel
ua-cam.com/video/1ymhKY9Vl50/v-deo.html
Galloping Ghost Arcade has several of these games on the original hardware - so you can play these the way they were meant to be played.
I've seen some videos; so cool! I'll definitely pop in if I'm ever in the area.
My god, that forest level in Spellsinger looks beautiful.
I know, right. When I was cutting the footage that was the level that I made sure to include. Stunning.
If they won't share the ROM they could at least do a decent recording.
very nice video you made, not many videos on this subject
Thank you very much. Yeah, I haven't seen much coverage on the subject. There will be a (longer) part 2 coming soon!
(Mom walking a tiny Goro by it's hair) Man, Mega City's got some crazy pet laws...
Hahaha. Really nice touch I thought.
I love the MVC 2 ost
Me too!
I'm suprised you didn't mention Primal Rage 2, the Beavis & Butthead arcade, and Gremlins
Gremlins I scrapped due to lack of decent footage. I cut out Primal Rage 2 because it's already been in another episode in the series, but it will be in part 2. So will Beavis & Butthead (Galloping Ghost have said I can use their footage).
Another great video!
Thank you!
Tattoo assassins is at galloping ghost
So I hear! Pretty cool.
They also have Primal Rage 2 and other canceled games, it's really neat.
We need a 2.5D sequel to Capcom Fighting Evolution on Switch man!
I wouldn't mind the soundtrack of Capcom Fighting All-Stars.
That would be awesome!
That first one (Spellslinger?) The art style reminds me of the Discworld games on the original PlayStation.
Yeah, me too! Really gorgeous artwork.
I'd have thought Capcom Fighting All-Stars would have featured Morrigan from Vampire Hunter.
Also, Tattoo Assassins were written by Data East's _pinball_ division.
_Chimera Beast_ has (very) few hints of _Saint Dragon_
Yeah, I thought that Demitri was an odd choice over Morrigan, but a bit of variety is good I suppose.
@@onaretrotip I have to be honest... I'm more of a Hsien-Ko man...
Spellsinger looks fantastic!
Hammer away also looks pretty good...who knew someone made Lemmings for arcade😮
Wasn’t sky skipper cancelled? Don’t know if that’s already been covered😂
Top video Pete really interesting👏🏼
Agree! Spellsinger looks great, and Hammer Away seems like a decent shooter (although I guess we've seen it all before).
I'm actually planning a Sky Skipper special, so it'll be getting its very own episode.
Thanks, Steve.
onaretrotip well don’t forget to mention who got the highest score when Alex done the U.K. reveal in his cab😉
@@Sinisteve PMSL
Chimera-beast?(couldn’t quite make out the name) was “too weird” or was it “too ugly”? Great idea, though. I would like to see what could be done with it today. Rogue-like shooter/assimilation has you trying to make it to the top of the food chain in an ever evolving world?with infinite combinations of animals and sea-life to discover/assimilate?!? Also, with less phallic-like “The Thing” visuals and more evil phallic-like “HR Giger visuals?!? Um yes please! Where do I sign up for programming school?
Anyone have the number for the team that makes the Hungry Shark games?
Yes, Chimera Beast. Yeah, absolutely love the concept, and would like to see it used in a modern day shooter. Definitely similarities with The Thing visually. Love that film.
There was also a Beavis and Butthead arcade game that was recently rediscovered.
I actually cut it as there's only footage of the arcade cabs (rather than captured gameplay), but it will probably make it into part 2. Galloping Ghost arcade have said I can use their footage.
Very cool, would have loved to play some of these. Thanks for the video.
Thanks for watching!
Spell Singer looks really impressive, sadly no one can play it
I know, right. Shame :(
Spell Singer looks like it could have been a good 1
Definitely! Love the art style.
Some decent looking games there Pete buddy.... I think I prob would of played and liked them all back in the day..... but I'd defo have liked hammer away... I know it looks similar to loads that was out around that time but I think that's why I would like it 😂👍 great work as always buddy 👍👍
Yeah, definitely some nice looking ones here, Steve. Hammer Away looks great, agreed! Plus it's Sega :)
Thanks mate!

Thank you very much.
Can't go wrong with Magician Lord Music as background music.
Absolutely!
These Mortal Kombat clones eh? Chimera Beast looks well odd! The imagination of people!
Haha yeah they're everywhere. Very odd, but an interesting concept nonetheless.
this video is great but the marvel vs capcom 2 music makes it perfect!!!!!!!!
Haha thanks! 🔥🔥🔥
Yeah, most likely just a bit too strange. Thanks, Jay!
It's throwing its jaws!
Also, the power-ups has a really good explanation.
I like it, but yeah, it is a bit gross.
I would so have liked Judge Dredd, Tattoo Assassins and Spellsinger to have been completed. They looked like they could have been great fun. I think though the Judge Dredd gameplay needed tightening up in the contact hit detection.
Spellsinger looks amazing!
@@onaretrotip Yeah it did.
That really put a smile on my face :)
Great list, man - tons of interesting stuff here.
I remember being bummed by both back in the day though, as I would love to have played the inevitable N64 ports - especially for 'Tenth Degree' as that console could use all the fighters it could get ;)
Again, terrific video as always.
Thanks. I actually cut it from this episode, but it was on the shortlist, because there only seems to be footage of arcade cabs (rather than captured gameplay). If I do a part 2 it may well make it in though!
Awesome video Pete! :-)
Thanks, Mark!
Nice video onaretrotip. I'm a shooter (SHMUP most of you call them) and platform person.
Thanks! I call them shooters too; "shmup" never sounded right to me.
