I think the amount of work and experience to get a car into the event will surprise them, if Paul just helps and doesn't do a car, their chances of competing against each other goes way up.

I am for team watch, the boys spent time growing up watching and supporting Dad, the joy of watching them participate with Dads support will make for great memories and content to boot. Win Win

10:36 It's VERY impressive that Hunter is putting on his seat belt EVEN when the pull seems quite easy with very little risk of danger. So many of these folks doing recoveries seem to be skipping the seat belt so kudos to Hunter for staying safe!

Paul, I get more enjoyment watching my grandson succeed than I do competing with him. I know what I can do. I want to watch him to see what he can do. So, I say watch your boys, let them compete with each other.

Paul it was the hardest thing I have ever done sitting back and letting my kids take the reigns. It was also the most rewarding thing I have ever done. To see them use what I have taught them over the years. Good luck with whatever you decide to do. Love you guys.

Watching someone else use Paul's truck really drives home just how good it is. That Ford wasn't stock, a beast by most guys standards and it was fighting for it's life out there, meanwhile Hunter was thinkin about what to have for lunch. I'm sure Sherm is lookin down and proud of you Paul.

Every time I watch this family, it makes me wish I was raised like they were (the boys)....they had a Dad that taught them worth while skills to take thru life and pay off .....
You should definitely build. A derby car so you can show the boys how its done. Besides that I live in Nephi and would love to see the master at work! Our derby is one of the best!!!

Looks about 100% in favor of sitting this one out. It would certainly give you the time to mentor these builds. These guys seem pretty capable and with your input to make sure it’s right, that’s a winner. Hunter has worked hard and proven himself to be very capable on his own. Huge asset for Fab Rats.

Yup I agree, you've had your turn, now it is the boys turn. Advice and occasional help will be appreciated but it is time to enjoy watching them. You still have time for a little competition in the future. But let them start with each other.😊

Here is a note how to ride a tube behind the boat. Sitting on top riding around you have no control of tube. Putting your knees into the tube and pulling back to pop a wheely gives you full control and less bouncy to stay on. Give it a try, it works.
Go for it… show the kids the ol man’s got it still…..or you find out you need to sponsor them…..

One thing a kid will remember for the rest of their life is a day out fishing with dad. The Derby builds are coming along. I think Dad should talk to the boys on a Derby plan to take out all the other cars first before the showdown.
The boys did a great job and Hunter was the man today on the recovery.

Best way to learn, is to do it for yourself. Great to see the boys workin it out. Helps to have a virtually unlimited supply of scrap to work with and a cool shop to do it in. 👍

Paul, it's time to for you to help and support your boys. It's something they will always treasure. If you build a car, you will overshadow them. You have good independent and capable sons there, help them where they need it, encourage where you can and support them as needed but let them do their thing.

Hunter did great job on the recovery video he and his brother did it without all they dramatic you see in many rescue videos much easier to watch.
I think that you should help them out if they have questions ⁉️. Be the supportive Dad and watch them have fun. You do so much with and for your kids and they appreciate it. Sit in the stands or on the sidelines and let them have their brotherly competition.
