18:05 A trick I've seen some guys use in this kind of setup is a transmission jack with a pipe on it. Works like an extra hand to hold up one side, and can set a desired height before welding anything. I've also seen wooden shims used in the joints with similar effect.

Both steel and carbide tipped holesaw teeth can be sharpened. Same goes for drill bits, carbide and steel circular saw blades, router bits, etc. It's done by any if not all sharpening shops like ones used by custom wood shops get their saw blades, router bits, drill bits, hole saws, etc. sharpened for a faction the cost of new ones. ;)

You guy at fab rats are doing a great job on the 55 I enjoy watching the build take your time I want to see it done right 👍 so far it’s looking good. I am curious as to what color and paint style you will choose I’m sure it will be great what ever it is. My 2 cents I would make it black with white and blue flames from the front or regular red 🔥 flames looks good too. But hey it’s Paul’s car I’m sure he has a paint scheme In mind already and it will be great. Keep up the good work.
Probably my favorite out of the tri fives although the gas fill behind the taillight on the 56 is pretty cool. Looks good and looking forward to seeing some smokie burn outs...🤓
Paul if you use a fail safe thermostat it be like open so air can bleed out it may not be air lock compare one to a regular thermostat and ask Chad if that be the way to go they go bad they suppose to get stuck in the open position

What is the advantage of the X Pipe vs. 2 straight runs off the headers? Seems like the X Pipe adds complexity and puts it right under the driveline, when 2 straight runs would be easier to run. If there is a performance upgrade, is it worth the added fab complexity? Please help me understand.
Not to be that guy that criticizes, but I think I would have flipped the cutout Y so it ran/dumped on the driveshaft side of the normal exhaust. That way if you got stopped and a cop proceeded to look, it would have been hidden by the normal exhaust. (ie making it a little more stealthy). Just a thought.
Ask Hector (Howling wolf garage)!!! He’s a good dude, and Robby is super busy with his builds, racing in the Cletus events, etc. I’m sure Hector is busy, but I’m bet he would work you in!

That happens to every builder some times or another if you build enough. This one is just yours, learn from it and carry on my friend, we have all been there.
I'm not there, so I may not be seeing everything. But, it seems like the exhaust would have still been high enough and a lot simpler if you would have went under the trans crossmember. I'd be surprised if you don't replace rear trans seals a little more frequently. Sorry, hate to be an armchair mechanic...but I've built a few cars myself and just wanting to offer advice, not criticism. Your car, your design.
Robby needs to help Paul do the body work and paint it. Adding to the Fab Rats repertoire of skills. Would make a great collaboration and teach the viewers even more skills. Paul you have the team to do it yourself with some help from Robby. Then you'll be painting everything!
that old lead sled lookin hot rod just needs a set 18" black steelie rims for a test rip. Theyll look good and give it the moonshiner/early nascar vibes. ;)
I agree with your idea of having Robbie paint your car but only if he can have a large Robbie nation logo on the roof, fab rats on the door in the back trunk good representation of a team effort
It's coming along nicely. Having the 'cut-outs' aimed towards the side will help blow away the tire smoke so you can see if you do that ;) Plus, as @user-kf8qc7cx4n said,it'll keep you from setting in a dust cloud.

Why not just dual pipes all the way back with a simple cross pipe?
