the young man is fortunate to have someone like you to teach him and not to yell or call him stupid. Life is learning process we all been down these roads and we have to experience them
I love how Merlin has a lesson for the younger generations of kids who he meets on this journey. I did the same thing with my new ex's kid. (never had any of my own). He needed to learn how to drive so I said come on and grabbed some makeshift cones and hopped in my Expedition. Nick hopped in the passenger side and said "I thought I was driving"?? I looked at him and said "anyone can drive a straight line I am going to show you how to drive". I drove to the park and ride close to home and set up all the cones. I then proceeded to make him do maneuvers for about 4-5 hours. Pull in here and back into there, pull up here and back into there and many more combos. By the end of that I packed up everything and drove home. He said again I thought I was going to drive? I said "anyone can drive a straight line". He was pissed. The next day his mom took him to take the driving test. Well that night he came home after taking the test and said " I got my drivers license"!! He then looked at the ground and said "If you did not do that yesterday I would have never passed the test" I laughed and told him "I know, don't you think I did not have to take that test too"? He is 27 now with a wife and two kids. He told me one day he got more from my tough love than anything else. I don't speak to his mother anymore ever and I stayed with her till he moved out to make sure he did not turn out like his half brother and half sister. Thank God he did not and is doing great
I teach police officers how to drive. My daughter just got her permit and on day 1 used my brake and evade technique to avoid a collision. Great job with your step kid, I believe in safe driving and the life lessons that come with it.
That is a cool story. I don't know you but thank you for taking the time to help a young person grow. Too many kids today don't have any adult presence to guide them. No wonder so many are wandering around lost.
Oh I’ve been stuck before and needing a way out! Back in the day you figured it out or walk! Calling Dad was the last straw always willing to teach you a lesson? Usually on the end of a shovel but dad what are all these extra holes for? Nothing now fill them in so I can pull you out and you’ll think twice about doing this again!! Great video this week Merlin
How many stories have you heard that go something like this: "What happened, how did you get yourself into this predicament?", "Well, there was this female and she wanted..."?
Things to learn by Merlin. hey I think you did a good job with that young man but I think your brother is an idiot. I'm pretty sure it's illegal to have passengers in a moving trailer any state. I mean it's already dangerous to have a trailer with a tire that's blown but he's got human beings back there that was not smart at all. Just like that young man when trying to have a good time you throw caution to the wind and somebody can seriously get hurt children of all things😢
I love that you take time to show people without belittling them in the process. That goes along ways with people and they'll remember that n pass it on. Keep up the good work merlin, see ya in the next video. PS, love ur truck.
Great teaching! I'm sure this young fella will remember that later in life. 😎 Btw: the camera never does justice how steep and gnarly the terrain really is. 🤘
You are a great roll model Merlin. I love how you teach that younger generation when you get the chance. It’s how they learn the better things. That info is not in a book, it’s purely hands on! ❤❤❤
That young man learned a lot of excellent off roading tips from you Merlin! Most folks would not have taken the time to pass on some very important life skills to a young person!
Who knew, Merlin, the driving instructor! Just one more accomplishment to add to your resume! Your boundaries know no bounds! Catch you on the next. ✌️ 😊
Well u came to Brad's rescue in this video. Man the editing game is on point with this 1. U would think most people would know how and when to air down they're tires out there. Especially if driving off road that much. But dude in truck did a great job driving out as u was pulling him. Piece of cake 🎂 🥮 🍥 🥞 or something like that, Piece of pizza be cool too
One comment about the Schrader valve tool-- if your wheels have TPMS sensors in them, they have aluminum valve stems. Don't put steel valve caps on them, because they'll corrode and they can be very hard to get off. Some metal valve caps claim they're compatible with aluminum valve stems, but I don't know how true that is (I always use plastic ones).
The lesson learned here folks is A-all the best lessons come from older friends of your dad's & B- All the best things in life all stem from "It was a female" bad decisions regarding woman sometime are best long lasting memories.
Yep, the girls will get you every time 😂. Monsoon just started here in Cochise County so we have cooled down to the low 90s. Humidity sucks though. This was a fun video. Thanks Merlin!
Oh wow that young man was in a bad situation with his truck at the lake. I like that Merlin and Brad shared some good experience about how be prepared for airing down your tires by carrying a valve core removal tool on one of your tires. Poor Brad he had some serious issues with tires on his ski doo trailer. He finally bought some new tires to fix the problem. Good video of Merlin doing what he does on the Bradley GT. It looks great!
So, I recently spent a week in Flagstaff celebrating some friends' 50th wedding anniversary. I noticed another friend of theirs wearing a MOSG t-shirt. Turns out he was at Glamis for your b-day party. He said he spent some time with Graydon on his go kart and with Michele and the pink buggy. He's a retired dentist named Todd. Small world.
Just a heads up trailer tires have two must do with them the first is inflation as it says on the side wall is where you run it at second they have a life expectancy of five years from date of manufacture. If you have doubts about what I wrote ask anyone who pulls an RV. Great advice to that young man don't forget an air compressor and a reliable guage.
Merlins adventures, It's a Great Day 👍when Merlin Suggest that you do something to help you You should not question your self, TRUST Have a Great Day 👍
I really appreciated your advice to put core remover caps on every vehicle. I’m a habitual tool carrier so I tend to overlook little tips like this that can save the regular guy. I ordered several, they’re cheap!!
Merlins not only feeds a man, but teaches him how to fish. I have had valve stem tools on my vehicles for years. Really pisses me off when the tire shop trys to steal them. 160 degree asphalt probably didn't help them tires none.
It must be nice to live where the humidity is so low. If I tried to shoot a coat of primer on anything it would look like a fur coat made of mosquitos before it could dry! 🤣
Even though my 35-year old square body Chevy crew cab has 1-ton running gear with lockers and lift, I will not take it on trails like the ones you guys where on. My crew cab is a rust free Las Vegas cream puff that is not replaceable if totaled on a trail like the ones you are on.
@@MerlinsOldSchoolGarage It's crazy how you just cut this weld that and it works. You make it seem so easy, but I know it isn't. It is all your years of accumulating knowledge. Awesome videos and thanks for sharing them.
Well Good Sunday morning everyone. And a big thanks again for the video for all us gear heads🔨🛠️🔧🪛🏁 Just want to share This life on this old world is full of uncertainty and good times and bad . Through it all Look to Jesus Christ for he is he way through it all ✝️💪🙏

I never knew about the '18-lb whistle' tip.I knew there was a whistle when deflating to change a tire off a rim,but never thought about the pressure at the point.TY. And Now We Know...and Knowing is 1/2 the battle ;)
Great video!! Really enjoyed the variety. I feel for Brad. I had similar luck with my tandem axle cargo trailer when moving 450 mi. Made many trips and it seemed like I blew a tire almost every trip. Road trash and pot holes took out two of them. Not sure what happened to the other 3 other than just bad luck. The Bradley is looking pretty sharp!! Nice work Merlin!!
Fantastic video brother!! Only problem I have is those darn Chevy brake and tail lights 😢. One always burns out just one left or right top or bottom! 😂😂
My only question is WHY would your brother be hauling a boat with people on it down the highway.. thats highly illegal where i'm from.. besides just being Dumb...
check out motor trend TVs Loud and it lifted episode where Chase Wells and his team at one way diesel performance LLC in East Texas rebuild a totally wrecked Lamborghini and swap the engine replacing the stack engine with a twin turbocharged Cummins diesel mated to a Lamborghini transaxle with a. CNC custom aluminum adapter plate making it the world's first diesel Lamborghini that will roll coal.
I don't understand why anyone would tow without having a spare especially out in the middle of nowhere. I even keep an extra bearing greased in a ziplock for all my trailers. Great videos, thanks for sharing!
I believe between you and Rory, you both have great techniques and advice for people. Just seems like you don't film very many recoveries. I'm glad you got done before the heat of the day. Great video Merlin.

When you said brown on that Bradly I thought no , but that turned out nice good choice
Ouch, Brad's hub seal done left the chat along with 1/2 the grease 🤣
Awesome recovery on that Chevy! Also, great advice on carrying a valve stem removal cap...pure Old School !
Fun video! That ridge you were driving along to get to the stuck truck, that'd be some fun wheeling! Love it! 👍

Hello Merlin my friend, just stopping by to give a shout out.Great work man great work.
How many stories have you heard that go something like this: "What happened, how did you get yourself into this predicament?", "Well, there was this female and she wanted..."?
Merlin that wrecker is surely old and ugly, BUT old and ugly is most times better than new and shiny
Gotta get up early for first
Jet ski in the desert! 😅
The replacement tire is way better at holding air than the one Brad took off. lol

Merlin said when you live a life like mine you don't have to manufacture video content... 😂
Great recovery! You are an awesome teacher for the 22 year old. All in all the car is beautiful! Thank you for sharing!
I’m 68 years old and Merlin teaches me new things all the time! Nice mix of stories in the vid. Thanks.
I love his old stories from the past they’re great .

Great teaching! I'm sure this young fella will remember that later in life. 😎

I have 2 spare tires for my trailer. Havent needed them yet but they are with me when the trailer is on a trip.
A boat is a hole in the water where you throw money!
Bring Out A Thousand!
It's OK Brad, wouldn't be the first time I lost a tire on a trailer😂😂
Such a great mentor. Keeps up the great work 👍
Cummins power great vidj Merlin 👌💯👍👨🌾🇺🇸😎🇬🇧😎🇬🇧🇬🇧🇬🇧🇬🇧🇬🇧😎😎🏴☠️
Mercy the wheel and tire issues on the boat trailer! I like the lake less now. Great Video.
The desert is not kind on seldom used trailer tires, dry rot will come quickly. Jet Ski's getting so big you need a tandem axle trailer 😂
Thanks Merlin and Brad for a good video! 👍👏

Good job! More toys!
Nice youngster but why would any sane person go so far off road in a road truck not set up for real off roading is beyond me.
Sup with that vw pick up never seen 1
Not a very bright idea to have people on a boat while it's being towed...
Marcus was thinking with his little head instead of the one on his shoulders.

Still don't know why people refuse to carry a working spare, or 12volt compressor. More lame video fodder of tire changing is getting tedious ...

A Idea towards the Cummins Boat you need to Add a gearvendors overdrive to Increase the Prop Speed i recall it being a issue on you testing it..
..
