I've been reading journal articles about chills in music (music psychology) for a class. it tends to happen to people who pay attention and appreciate the more technical aspects of music (like composition, instrument usage, etc) more than, say, the average person who lets music just wash over them.

Heavy guitar riffs. Drum solos like only Lars can perform. Hetfield’s melodic but gravelly voice as practiced as it has ever been. And an inspirational tone and message that only Metallica could deliver. Masterful.
This is BY FAR the most Underrated song on the Album. Everytime I hear that riff, I freak TF out. It's one of the BEST Riffs James has ever wrote. I Love him so much ❤
Also, it's one of the hardest songs to play on the album. It's super fun to try to keep up with James. And the bridge is groovy AF! I can listen to this song everyday for the rest of my life and be happy

Yes, this is a solid describtion. It's the very most realistic point of reality for people with depression, anxiety, voices etc, etc, yet it's haunting at the same time, which sucks my energy completely to zero, over and over again. But as other studies showed, it's linked to geniousity. like perfectionisme as a minor example. But in a more organic sense how brains function according to approaches within human interactions, trauma's, shutdowns, other wavelengths, distortions, just the easiest and sometimes most advanced emotion regulations. Metallica always had these very deep understandings within their musical crafts and how to bring it, no matter which origin. They all make sense.

And yeah, my neighbors love this new album too. At least, none of them have complained about the volume. Yet. Devil Horns up and Metallica forever!

I was thinking the same thing, especially if they’re holding out a note to lead into it, and then all the lights just randomly turn off, leaving everyone wondering if something went wrong. Then James starts the song
I think the people who are hating on the album just haven't given it enough listens. Took me probably 4-5 full listen throughs to really understand the flow of the songs and to appreciate them, for a true metallica fan every song is a banger in its own way.
When you see "this is my favorite track on the album" being commented by multiple people on every single track on this album, you know the Metal Gods have indeed returned in full form!! Best album since Justice! Fight Me!! lol ❤
Definitely their longest album since Justice. And, despite the length... some of these songs really could have been shorter - agree, Yellow Album is the first Metallic album to grab the attention properly, audibly, arrestingly, as a comparison to their 2nd, 3rd and 4th albums. It does stand up to them. It's damn good.
Im surprised this song hasn't been declared the best song on the album by more fans. It's clearly the one that stands out the most to me. For modern Metallica, it is very metal.

This song is class- it stood out at the premiere as a top track as it was full of energy and quality riffs. Reminds me so much of King Diamond/Merciful Fate- the main riff and each section I can just hear the influence King has had on this band. Absolutely brilliant.
