The capture video from the Avata's camera looks fantastic. From the reviews that I have read and viewed on UA-cam, DJI applied everything that they learned from the original DJI FPV drone and implemented that knowledge into the design of the Avata.
Great Intel I own two Dji Fpvs and you answered the questions I would ask, Great video footage, how does recording footage compare to viewing footage thru new goggles?
At the very least, this drone looks like the perfect exploration tool. There are many reasons why we fly FPV(freestyle, racing, etc) but one of the biggest reasons I fell in love was for the pure fact that I can go places and see things in a way I would have never been able to otherwise. Sold like a mf.
@@Akinto710 I'm looking forward to this part 108 certification that will allow for bvlos operations. Sounds like FPV might finally be "legit" here in the States.
Dude. I subbed after the turkeys. I am sick and tired of seeing drone shots of painted deserts, sea cliffs, mountains, professional's on bikes, on motorcycles, with f'ing wingsuits, derelict ships and all the other crap I will never, ever, ever, ever encounter. I want those turkey moments, the things that I'm likely to see. It was delightful to see something unexpected and fun. (I'll admit I'm also tired of all the damn playground equipment vids .... but even that is more my use case.) Thanks for being original!
I love the new drone that would be good for hunters to look through the woods or their fields for deer just like you seen the turkeys wow that is so cool thanks man for showing us and sharing your experience with this drone
Ken I think this will probably be the go to rig for those doing business fly-throughs and the like. The flight time is the biggest draw as well as the horizon lock. Great flight review Ken. 👍
If they had a bundle with just v2 remote, goggles and the Avata. I would've pulled the trigger, unfortunately the motion controller isn't enough for me to consider. Well done! Ken
Agreed! It's kind of a strange combination. I have no interest in the motion controller. Surprised they don't have a bundle with just the controller, but I'm sure they think people will just buy it separately.
I couldn’t find anybody that had the controller in stock. Otherwise I would have done the same. I did not like the other controller on the original FPV drone. I ended up selling it now I wished I would’ve kept it just for the radio
I purchased my FPV Contoller from a place called Pictureline. It's a photography store. Out the door it was $197. I don't care for the motion controller either.
Awesome video. I wish I could see the raw footage in its HD glory before the youtube compression has its way with it! How would you rate the 4k video and the 1080p goggle footage before the compression hits it? Any chance we could get a file upload of a snippit of the raw video and DVR foootage? Regardless thanks for this awesome example of the Avata's capabilities.
Hiya, great video! I thought I’d pop by and check out your channel after spotting you in the live chat on DroneNation today. I’ve just hit subscribe to your channel too. I’m really looking forward to getting my Avata, I’ve got a Mavic Pro Platinum so it’ll be my first intro to FPV.
How do you get it to takeoff in manual mode from the get-go. On the original FPVDJI drone, I could never figure out. Seems like you had to flip it into manual while you were flying which required you to hold the sticks at center for a certain period of time. I do not like this particular drawn and sold it right away. But I did get me into FPV
I bought the mini 3 pro in July and love it. I had the phantom 4 drone since 2016. Just sold it on eBay for $600. I bought the FPV mid August and haven’t flown it yet but looking forward to flying it. I also ordered the avata lol. I want to use the avata and mini 3 pro for video projects. The FPV will be just for fun. A lot invested, hopefully the total tech covers any issues I may have for the 2 years all my drones are covered 🤓👍🏻

I am surprised and disappointed there is no radio in any of the bundles. The radio is sold out on the DJI store right now. I would like to see how it works with that motion controller before I make a decision.
You found the secret turkeys! Fun video but I just can’t go back down to 11 minute flight times and the fact that it does not come with a regular remote control is a dealbreaker for me. V3 might be the one.
Do the goggles work with the mavic 3 for viewing flight? Can you watch anything through them? And Does the avata record sound? Thought I heard the fpv drone records audio. Thanks bro. On a side note would you recommend the fpv over the avata with prop guards maybe for a new flyer?
Ken how did you connect the fpv controller to the goggles and the drone. The controller is not connecting when you follow the steps on the DJI fly app off the iPhone
Hello, any issues flying in manual mode with the latest firmware update, flips , rolls , quick turns etc. Lots of reports of it going berserk and falling to earth. I've experienced similar and will be sticking with normal and sport mode until it gets hopefully addressed. Thanks
Nice flight Ken! Plenty of Avatas in the stores here. Can pick one up now but i think i will skip this one. Dont think i will fly a lot of fpv lately. In that case i cant justify paying 1429 euro for the combo view and another 249 euro for two extra batteries. But the drone certainly looks nice.
it looks like a cool little drone. I fly camera drones (air 2s) but I'm curious about fpv. It seems like this one would work really well for a 107 pilot doing Real estate. Looks like is has excellent penetration. The price point might scare off some (myself included) . As always, awesome video. Your no nonsense, tell it like it is approach is a breath of fresh air compared to other reviewers who you can tell are fan boys.
I’m thinking about just getting the drone & the motion controller to film crime scene with to help get tips to solve them. Can you download footage from the drone to social media or your phone. If so how can you do that???
Great video as always just curious The comparison between the V2 goggles versus the goggles 2 is it a huge comparison or maybe just a little bit different
This is my question as well. I could see if you locked exposure then went into a dark area, say a barn, perhaps you couldn't see? One of the downfalls of having the filming camera and the navigation camera being the same thing, I suppose. With my old Mavic Air 1, I'm often tapping the screen to lock exposure.
That was all flown in manual mode? Awesome job! I just ordered it. I've never flown an FPV drone, but have flown Inspire 2 and Mavic 2 Pro over past 6 years. Would you recommend flying the simulator for manual? Do you think it will make that much difference flying the sim?
@@anthonymediaz I’ve only flown it once and it was alright. I need to give it more of a chance though especially since I dropped $2000 on it. I just haven’t had a need for it and haven’t taken the time to fly it.
