7:56 The Wilhelm scream is known by that name because it was the name of the character who was first to die while appearing to utter it. Private Wilhelm dies screaming in a river during Distant Drums from 1951. Some quite interesting factoids; It occurs twice in the Crazy 88's fight scene in Kill Bill 1, but the record goes to the Lego Movie-Ninjago, which has 7 Wilhelm screams in 15 seconds. All in the same scene, too. Using the phrase 'overkill' could be considered an understatement as well as accurate in this case.
Also, in the famous shower-murder scene in Psycho there were no actual shots of violence. Never once is there a shot of the knife stabbing her... It's all implied.
Psycho shower scene CANNOT have more camera angles than cuts. It’s impossible. Each cut is of ONE camera angle or setup. Unless someone is counting pans or tilts as multiple angles. Think of it as seventy-five wines in fifty-seven bottles. Cut to him, cut to her, cut to him would be three cuts but maybe only two angles.
I agree Stephen must have got it wrong if he means more shown camera angles than cuts. For why, just cite the pigeon-hole principle. Those pigeons are everywhere.
Steve sure has an unusual movie taste, between counting the number of cuts in the Psycho shower scene - and his huge love of Magnum Force! (the genre-tastic Dirty Harry sequel - from 1972? .....Not the films you'd imagine with him)
That was not Hepburn. She did use a mid-Atlantic accent, and its hallmark was that the American r’s were not pronounced; it sounded like a posh English accent.
"Ug, woman try to make funny, me must insult, put woman in place." BTW, calling the late, great Linda Smith "that woman" says more about you than it does about her.

3 Willhelm screams across the Lord of the Rings trilogy.
Sheb was an actor on Rawhide and also the singer of One-Eyed, One-Armed Flying Purple People Eater.

Agree
I suspect he read out the numbers the wrong way around and it got missed by the production team. I will definitely count when I'm in the mood😂

But if a camera pans and tilts does that not create a different angle of view...? 🤔
TONIGHT: I make a cameo, Richard dodges a crop duster, and James gets his eyes pecked out by birds.

If Alan was bald he'd look remarkably like Bruce Willis.
If Alan was bald, he wouldn't be popular
@@zirk007 of course he would
Wow you are right. I can't unsee it
Omg! Yes
Well I'm never going to not see that now.
Just love them all.❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
How did all these intelligent people not know about the Wilhelm scream?
I'm quite interested in what channel has the compilation of films with the scream in them and their titles.
It's only become widespread knowledge in the 20 years since this was on TV
I saw an episode where nobody but Sandi, the host, had ever heard of W.C. Fields.
I love Cariad!!
Bill: "So who's doing this research into why pidgeons don't watch tv?" 🤪
It's a fair question, really. Who would actually pay for that?
People who want to sell them birdseed? More seriously, they were probably researching pidgeons' eyes in general and happened upon that fact.
Alec Baldwin could have used Stephen's armourer
In college my first room mates nick-name was Norman Bates (kinda looked like him too).
Surprised that Stephen does not mention the exploits of Speckled Jim.

how many people went and watched the shower scene and counted the cuts [pun not intended]??
Best tv efer
She Wooley wrote the purple people eater
Sheb Wooley 😂
The fact that Emma Thomsen has not been nominated since the 90s, is rediculous
Agreed, but just politely it’s ridiculous. ☮️
It's not ridiculous. She ain't good enough obviously!
Actually, Emma Thomsen has never been nominated and I don’t see a reason why she should have been.
I don't like her and much to old for that Jane Austen story(35). Her character was 19.

The guy in the Black hat looked like Morgan Freeman..
Another film cliche: ''You know what to do, men!''
That K Hepburn impression was terrible.
Who is the woman talking about the bad Hindi accent?
Nikki Bedi
Harris Richard Hernandez Margaret Thomas Joseph
14:36 -- that woman needs to shut up -- not funny at all -- same for the one at 30:17
