I've since spent Midsummer Eve in Kiruna above the arctic circle. The sun went down at midnight but just as it was about to disappear in the normal way, it started coming up again - the Midnight Sun. When we got back to the hotel at 1.00 am, it was full daylight and felt like breakfast time. The opposite happens there at midwinter - but having no daylight doesn't attract too many tourists. I wonder where Rhod was that winter?
I have loved Sandi since her first appearance for me on No73 and she was just perfect to take over from Stephen Fry whom I also adore. Both great minds, both very intelligent but also incredibly witty. Its still my favourite show and I still watch the repeats on Dave. Fabulous.
Sandy toksvig is absolutely delightful! I love her random Scandinavian facts as well. So much so that I feel like I should share one of my own: the theme song from the video game mortal Kombat is based on an old Scandinavian Church song. Specifically, a Finnish Hymn

I think the wind incident with Sandi is on the same line as the Parthenon incident with Stephen. Both radiate the same energy
I never heard of the show before and I just came across this video scrolling UA-cam at 12:38 AM July 6, 2021. Thank you thank you thank you. 🤣 I laughed so hard I have tears in my eyes. I laughed out loud, in my apartment alone. I can’t think of when I laughed that hard for that long…. 🤔before my husband passed away six years ago.
I really needed that laughter, and the endorphins.
Thank you
thank you
thank you. 💟
This is the second best QI discovery ive ever heard of
Sandi has made this her own. Never thought anyone could replace Mr Fry, but I have been wonderfully surprised!
I thought no one besides Stephen would be able to coral that herd of nonsense that is the QI panel. Oh, how wrong I was!
nothing like a mom to lasso rowdy not-acting-their-agesters
@@CorvusCorone68 what?
@@heatherheather7817 she's a mom, she knows how to control kids
She was a great choice
The whole “hilly” bit absolutely killed me
i absolutely love it when Bill says: Ehh Bill, put your Wine away and Shut the fuck up! - i roared with laughter for ages hahaha
Dubuque, Iowa is hilly. It has a funicular railroad. It was built by a business man in the 1890s whose house was on a Mississippi river bluff. It was built to reduce travel time as he liked to take a nap after lunch.
I would say Rhod was winding up Alan more than he was Sandi.
That’s because Rhod was muscling in on his turf.
It kind of reminded me of when Rhod insisted that Roosters only crow at dawn.
Sandi didn't "get annoyed" until Alan did.
Nothing compared to the way he winds up David Mitchell on "Would I Lie To You".
You know you're out of line when Alan is the one telling you off.
“Do you think this is sharp enough to kill somebody?”
"If you have enough intention behind it."
Probably the best, second only to Stephen I believe. Smart, witty and always ready with an answer
I once attended a live "I'm Sorry I Haven't a Clue" show at Manchester Apollo...must have been around 6 or 7 years ago. Jack Dee was supposed to host, but wasn't able to, so Sandy Toksvig did it. The show was great (as ever) but the best part of it, was watching Sandi having the time of her life! She was laughing her head off most of the show and it was a real joy to see. I love Sandi Toksvig.
Sandi was the only one who could replace Stephen, and to be honest, I like her better in some ways. She’s always on my dream dinner party guest list!
I love how Rhod's "dark all the time" joke winds up Allan way more than it does Sandi.
Sandi is constantly asking herself if she gets paid enough for this babysitting job
I think she wondered that for the first few seasons she did but now it looks like she's adopted them all and there's no way out now
I find a contentment knowing that this show is in good hands😂
I do love it when the panel goes completely out of control 😂
Watched this for a second time when I clicked on it and didn't realise I'd already seen it. Didn't stop me watching it again and bursting out laughing multiple times!
Sandi filled in the void Stephen left impeccably. Fantastic host!
I love her so much. Fry could not have had a better successor.
Hills banter had me in tears laughing! Amazing!
Rhod's comeback at the end... PRICELESS.
Ah, Bill Bailey. A true treasure.
I love it 🥰 how Alan gets as annoyed at Rod Gilbert as you want Sandy to get at Rod saying that Denmark 🇩🇰 has almost no daylight .
That boat scene is Sandi's Parthenon moment :)
I hoped Alan and Bill got points everythime they correctly named a place that was hilly!
like Vancouver even though it's not a capital
Dunno, it had to be quite interesting, after all. If they said that Amsterdam was hilly and it turned out to be corrected, that'd probably be quite interesting!
I just thought the Vancouver bit was interesting as that is in my corner of the world :)
@@arhawkes Which is correct. It should've been worth half a point.
@@WhiteCamry But it's not a capital, shame though
Going from Stephen to Sandi is like watching the Doctor regenerate.
3:15 I spent a year studying in Uppsala - just north of Stockholm. We stayed up late one night around Midsummer and day started dawning.
At 8:25 I laughed so hard. '' ere Bailey put you're wine away, and shut the f**k up!. 😂
Sandi is an absolute treasure!
Sandi was always the only possible successor to Stephen IMO, she’s ferociously intelligent and has the personality and wit to carry it off.
I have loved Sandi since her first appearance for me on No73 and she was just perfect to take over from Stephen Fry whom I also adore. Both great minds, both very intelligent but also incredibly witty. Its still my favourite show and I still watch the repeats on Dave. Fabulous.
Sandi - you are Legend. Taking the reins is your destiny. Live long and prosper. : - )
Sandy toksvig is absolutely delightful! I love her random Scandinavian facts as well. So much so that I feel like I should share one of my own: the theme song from the video game mortal Kombat is based on an old Scandinavian Church song. Specifically, a Finnish Hymn
I have one for you too - the theme song for The Book of Boba, composed by Ludwig Göranson, was inspired by a song from the old Swedish movie: Ronja Rövardotter
Finland isn’t part of Scandinavia though
@@nightsgrow6575 People often use Scandinavia as shorthand for Fenno-Scandinavia, which does include Finland.
I've only seen a couple of these clips. I"m hooked! So smart! So funny!
OMG the comedy kings and queens kill me lol Thank you guys lol
