I was there! A sublime musical experience! Marcus is a stone cold badass. A great singer, guitar chops for days, and a phenomenal writer. He's the total package. And his band is disgusting too!

Not only was I there, but I had the honor of writing a reCAP for the Theatre. A night I'll never forget. Marcus is a rare talent and this band is just radioactive.
The song they play at 6:09 was put on a single and I HIGHLY recommend listening to that version. It is called "Sharry Barry / Sliced Milk / 25 or 6 to 4 / I'll Stay / Gloomy Sunday - Medely Live". The sound quality in that is amazing and it will melt your frickin brain. Be sure to sit with your seat belt strapped in a well ventilated area because that 15 minute jam is DEADLY.

Now that I hear him doing it, I am hearing some Eric Johnson, and maybe a taste of Joe Bonamassa! I mean that in the most complimentary way! Can't wait to see them live in Grand Rapids next month!

I was at this show, I feel very fortunate. Some of the best live guitar I have ever seen. Amazing show, incredible music. Such talent. The entire band is the absolute real deal.... And those guitar jams were unreal.
This band and this guy in particular is the best thing I’ve seen in so, so long! The entire band is so amazingly tight. Like you just don’t see this level of tightness to any bands anymore. They are so perfect. And for him to be that amazing on guitar and leading that band while handling the vocal duties is just mind blowing.
52:00 they jump in to Can’t You See, impromptu, and Marcus mouths the chords to the bassist, then they preceded to CONTINUE to blow the roof off the Cap. Unreal. Love it.

What an opening number, just sets the tone of the whole show. Has an SRV feel in terms starting off the show super hot. Plus you can't beat a Flying V, it is a great ode to Leslie West and Mountain
My God. He is a prodigy with that guitar. I heard “beautiful stranger” first, and I had Marcus pegged as a vocal prodigy - but his guitar work is out of this World as well. Magnificent, if he makes it out to California I hope he’ll consider playing one of the clubs in Sac or San Fran instead of Los Angeles.
Can’t stop listening to Marcus King Band...& watching performances such as this performance just generate MORE appreciation for MKB...so technically profiicient & masterful, not to mention that great soulful voice...and his songs lyrically ring true so that a listener identifies with it readily. Also want to shout out to his backing band for superb performances all around & for being such team players...being a bass player, I gravitate to watching S.Campbell never letting go of that bottom line. anyone know when Dean learned to play the steel? bc i've seen several shows and he never used to play that. I just recently saw them at st college, pa and he played the steel. to Dean....great fucking job man. it doesn't matter and this means nothing, but I've been following MKB for a while and must say that I'm proud (super cheesy, i know). This is the first band that I can truly say I saw and started loving before everyone knew about them. The maturity and growth I've witnessed is outstanding. And Dean...props for being a beast on the sax but also expanding your talents to support the band as a whole. Damn...I honestly proposed selling our house and just following the band around the country. My wife (she's super smart) advised otherwise, even though she's a HUGE fan. Doesn't mean much but you all brought a certain kind of joy into my life that I was missing for a while this past weekend. so please know....your music touches people. It touched me and helped me re-evaluate my priorities. And for all you folks out there thinking Im some dude that did too any drugs in my life. opposite of that (well, I did explore in my early life), this band just brings a happiness that I haven't found in many other bands. I'm just so proud to say that I've been a fan for over 5 years and I'm can only wish the best for them. You all make me re-consider life, which is amazing as a band. Ps. I'm the dude in the front at state college that got that place to stand on their feet.....who the fuck comes to a MKB concert and doesn't dance, let only stand up?!?!?! At Woodstock there were two new bands, Mountain and Crosby, Nash, and Young. Mountain opened with this song and all I could think of was who ARE these guys. They blew me away. So good to see King do it. He is awesome. Hope you caught Moe's Saturday night performance on Relix. One of the best Moe performances I've seen. Moe down is about half an hour from my summer place. Lucky me.

That rig rundown video is real old. He's got a full pedalboard now. I saw one of those newish Fender distortion pedals on there when I saw him live, and he's definitely got some other drive sounds on there too
