How to Buy a Rolex Watch at Retail with No Waitlist.. 41mm Submariner Black Steel Sports Bespoke Lux

- Опубліковано 11 сер 2022
- Some say, I did the impossible because I was somehow able to acquire a desirable bespoke luxury steel sports Rolex Watch model for retail at an AD in far less time than the estimated 1 - 2 years wait and I managed to get my new watch in weeks and not months or years with no prior Rolex sales history.
I am still in shock seeing this Rolex Submariner Date on my wrist.
In this video, I discuss some of what I feel is important in regards to my unique story and process of buying this watch at a Rolex AD. I hope this video helps others acquire such a desirable model at retail and so I am going to share some tips that might help you out on your hunt for a Rolex very few are able to purchase.
I know there are plenty reviews of this watch from other creators but if you’d like to see a full review on this Rolex Submariner Date, be sure to let me know in the comments and I’ll try my best to make sure my review won’t be as redundant.
Thank you all for taking the time to watch and like my videos! I really appreciate all the support!

I was put on the wait list for a submariner. The salesman was upfront and told me the wait was 9 months which i though that wasn't bad
I feel that with the secondary market coming down it has pushed a lot of the flippers out. It’s improving the waitlist times for true enthusiasts which is a great thing
The experience you described was the exact one i went through, especially the “crowd” comment lol. It took me 8 months, to get mine this year. Ironically, it was the batman gmt on the jubilee bracelet 😂
The real task is trying to help my dad chill out while waiting on his rootbeer!
Cheers!
Acquaintance I know has a RootBeer and he waited 2 years.
What you described in terms of the unboxing is exactly what the Omega dealer did for my Speedmaster...but I got the watch that day...3 shots of whiskey and a bottle of champagne..and a presentation with all of the reps. Something tells me Rolex would not do the same.
Questionable
went into my local AD and put 3 watches on my "want" list and 3 months later they called me in for my 124060 Submariner no date :)
Glad you ended up with a watch that you wanted. That’s my ultimate goal, to help enthusiasts get their dream watch
Did you have a purchase history?
Before this watch… 0 history.
I purchased an Explorer 1 after 1 month wait from AD in NJ (London Jewlers) I put myself down for a Sub date and it’s been over 1 year. Would you mind telling me where you got yours. I’d love to try contacting them if they are willing to work with me.
Totally agree with what you said
Thanks Desmond, plenty more content to come!
Suppose you want to upgrade. Do you trade the old Rolex in? You sell it after how long. Not planning to do this on mine but just curious.
I don’t sell watches that’s just my opinion. Typically I have regrets when I sell things. If I want something I buy it but selling to obtain something different isn’t a strategy for me
awesome!
Thank you
I was at the AD yesterday and witnessed/overheard a dealer OFFER a daytona. She said "I do have a solid gold daytona in the back if you're interested."
The customer in question very could have been picking up a watch and been offered that in place of the watch he wanted. I have seen a customer wait for a RootBeer GMT and told if he wanted to wait a week he could switch to a Sprite GMT.
About two years ago I went into the AD in Bordeaux France near where I live. I asked for an Explorer 214270 and he smiled and politely said no. He didn't offer to put me on the list or even take my details. But he did offer me a Daytona. Sadly it was way off my price capacity.
What’s your view on Glashütte? Higher end less production not marketed as much. Like u I love watches and big time into the ones u don’t normally see. Tuder is the sister of Rolex as I am sure u already know. One thing about Glashütte is they are going towards Rolex models. But in terms of the Senator excellence perpetual colander is unique. As a fellow watch collector and enthusiast I have seen the prices increase. Love to catch up with you to talk about watches. Hope we can have a conversation
I have to say Glashutte is a great brand and I’m looking at two different models that I would like to buy. I think the town has a rich history and you would be crazy to turn your nose up to German engineering. Hopefully I’ll add one to my collection in the near future!
@@41mmLuis The Senator excellence perpetual calendar is amazing. Also the pano inverse. If your on Facebook there is a private group on Glashütte called GO. Love the brand but what I am noticing is their newer watches with bezel looks a lot like Rolex. I love Rolex especially the Yacht Master. Thinking about Pepsi. When Rolex stops making day a YachtMaster with a different dial then what they currently have does that make the value go up more. Btw I follow Kevin and say u on it and love watches big time and glad you have a channel. I saw you did a video on speed master love Omega. James Bond Spectre limited edition with the crest of arms the Aqua Terria is littlerly the box what comes with it is amazing. Look forward to seeing more of your videos. Again thank you
any of the available models happen be a submariner class?
Technically nothing is available upon walk in
The submariner date in Oystersteel is NOT one of the lower priced Rolex models.
No it is not but it is one of the lowest priced models but it is one of the lower priced Sports watches.
@@41mmLuisErm you are wrong bro. The lower end sports model are Explorer 1 and Air King. Even Milgauss and Explorer 2 is cheaper than the Sub...
No it’s not
I “got mines”……what English is that?
Steel subs always have been an entry level bread and better piece. Most popular first watch for many…
@@aaronming8466 not!
I live two hours' drive from my nearest AD so going in on a regular basis isn't going to happen. I have been in three times in two years and failed to even get on the wait list. I have been nice, well dressed, polite and asked exactly for the model number I wanted but failed to get anything. It is beyond me how Rolex fail year after year to rectify both the AD problem and the ordering/supply process. I might suggest that Rolex is engaged in pricing hiking and selling on the inflated secondary market.
Very unfortunate that you aren’t on the list. Have you tried calling and following up as well
My AD got me a Submariner 124060 after a 4 month wait on October 2021. That’s with purchase history with a Tudor Black Bay and Omega Speedmaster in 2017 and 2020.
The purchase history is truly not necessary
@@41mmLuis I bought those other watches because I wanted them. Getting the Sub was just the cherry on top. At no point did l buy anything l didn’t want.
I’m going on 2+ years waiting for a submariner at 4 AD’s
Hopefully I can get you a few more hints and get you pushed up the list 👍🏼
Buy some jewelry or something else from the AD it may help
@@mr.thinkpositive9962 you should never buy something you don’t want to get a Rolex from an AD. You will just end up wasting more money.
The term ‚wait list‘ is a bit misleading. It suggests that everyone gets their watch if you wait long enough. That’s not the case. As mentioned in the video there are hundreds or even thousands on these lists. You will only be selected for the high-end stuff (which basically covers all Rolex except Cellini and ladies watches) if you’re a target client and/or spend enough.
That seems to be a common complaint but I’m proof that your argument isn’t true. I spent zero dollars at my AD and got my watch in 2 months. You can’t blame the sales team at an AD for being selective when most people buy a watch just to flip it and make a few bucks.
You can't just go in one time. I went back for a 3 week follow up yesterday. The AD said he appreciate d me coming back. He even made a note on my request slip. I expressed my concern about no purchase history. He said we DO NOT require prior purchase to be eligible for a Rolex. I then told him I need to buy a engagement and wedding ring in the next 6 months. Probably up'd my chances a tad. He said when allocations come in they go thru the slips and the team decides how to and who to allocate the watches to.
Here I am 5 months later. I got the call a few weeks ago! 41mm OP silver sunburt! You can't sit on your hands and wait for a call. Do an in store visit every 3 - 5 weeks, express your desire for what you want and be friendly. Yes you're spending thousands but if you get the watch it's worth thousands more than what you paid. Dress nice, smell nice, talk appropriately, be polite and FOLLOW UP. You'll have your watch in no time!!!
@@jeffb321 thanks for the follow up and congrats on ur new watch! however i find the whole process of buying a rolex a bit too overwhelming so am prolly gonna wait a year more when more watches become more readily available :)
@neznamtija8081 trust me it is very overwhelming. My job requires little human contact and I don't have a family so for me I get very high levels of social anxiety when I have to introduce myself and socialize with new people. I really wanted the watch at retail so I just had to bite the bullet and put my big boy pants on lol
More like seven years here in Tampa, FL.
Did it actually take you that long?
What’s the year and watch reference?
126610LN it’s a 22
Gotta ask. Why wear the watch below the bone? Have never done it but looks like it’s very uncomfortable and restricting
How far up your wrist are you wearing your watch?!?
That’s how I wear my 116520 and 16600. Not uncomfortable at all. Why not?
I wear all my watches below my bone. My bone is kinda small, but works just fine. Not everyone has a big bone, but as they say it’s how you use it.
An experience unlike you’ve ever had…when it’s your first experience.
Shame that it only happens once… off to the next brand
When I picked up my Rolex from the AD I didn't get any white gloves, no unboxing, no beverages. They delivered me my watch at the check out counter lol. It was my first AD purchase and I was expecting more BUT! Getting the watch at retail was the real treat! I gave my AD a $100 gift card to a nice steakhouse near their store. The sales associate did send me a hand written thank you. I think I'm on good enough terms to go back sometime this year and ask for a no date sub or an explorer 2 polar.
doesnt work for me, named down the submariner after i got my bachelor degree, now im 2 year in my MBA and still no call for that graduation gift lol some ADs just genuinely suck.
Have you checked in
checked in a lot even other ADs, but the only answer I got was "they will come in when they come in". lol, pure disappointed
I hear the two tone submariners are easier to get compared to the full stainless steel. I’m surprised that the two tone models aren’t as desirable. They look nicer in my opinion.
Like all trends the two tone models have the 80s feel and they are coming back in style. I hear the two tone models are becoming more desirable again.
Owning a Rolex is like owning a PS5. You can hold off till the bots and flippets stop hording all the stock or you can just go buy one above retail.
With the recent changes in the market it’s a great time to buy. Let’s not kid ourselves. You can purchase a Rolex today but you will pay more. Obtaining one isn’t impossible, it takes planning and you deciding what route you will take.
@@41mmLuis I paid $250 above retail for my PS5. I could pay $2500 above retail for a Sub if I wanted one I guess. I have a super clone $600 fake for now holding me over till I get the call.
Shit new news now with the Rolex pre owned program thing. Nevermind. Paying over retail is the thing now
I have several friends that have purchased a new Rolex from the AD this year
Man, it’s like trying to buy a 911 GT3 or new Ferrari lol
Having a Rolex is great… having a GT3 without a Rolex, that’s weird
I’m still waiting 24 months and I’ve purchased several watches from my AD.
What model are you waiting on?
@@41mmLuis Two tone Bluesy.
Have you checked in with the AD
@@41mmLuis Yes usually about every 3-4 months and just emailed him again this morning….no response yet.
I'd want a black faced daytona.
What’s stopping you?
@@41mmLuis The AD'S playing games. I'm only willing to pay retail & I don't think they'd give a first time customer a go.
In all gold
Little loud for me but definitely still attainable if you make the right moves 👍🏼
I can get you any Rolex I have many watch collectors so don't believe the waiting list bull
Appreciate that but I only buy from the AD 👍🏼
You make me want to buy one just for the experience alone
Do it!!
Entry level sub……lol
How many people you think own 10-12 k watch…….lol
More than you would think
if you live in a big city, you'll be surprised how many people are rocking 10-20k watches and I'm confident they're genuine, I've even seen people rocking 100k+ Pateks and Richard Milles.
What's the point?. To wait for rolex if its out there hundreds of other watches way better than rolex .
That’s a generalized statement. Yes there might be hundreds of other brands but Rolex is unique in their own way. There are several other brands that you must wait for as well.
I walked into Ben Bridge and purchased a Rolex Submariner 116610LN There a Authorized Rolex Dealer. I would never purchase second-hand. I don't trust anyone but the Rolex authorized dealer plain and simple.
Bryce, calm down buddy. The cameraman is one of my closest friends of many years. He isn’t a watch expert but put me on the spot to make the video and start the channel. It wasn’t scripted we just talked. I agree a submariner isn’t an entry level rolex.
I went through a lot of work to purchase this watch. I talk to the Rolex authorized dealer for months it wasn't easy. We still have a relationship. She gets so mad at me for not wearing it She said if I ever sell it We will never sell you another Rolex ever again they are serious if I don't have that watch on when I go see her She won't sell me another one. It just hurt my feelings about him saying it was an entry-level didn't know he was your, friend. I'll delete it. I'm a truck driver so I only wear the Rolex on my off days, I wear a Seiko Dive watch turtle to work.
That’s why I’ll never wear a Rolex. Because everyone knows what it is …. You may even get jumped for it. Everyone loves waiting to spend your hard earned money …. Plenty of great available watches other than Rolex
Be smart and aware of your surroundings and you should be fine. Most of these watch thefts have happened in London or certain US cities.
@@41mmLuis It happens everywhere randomly. Don’t paint a target on yourself. Get another brand
you sound ridiculous, the way he puts on a glove lol
Your comment makes so much sense Ethan. I appreciate it and I’ll change everything about myself moving forward.

These watches look huge in mist peoples wrists, including this dudes
Doesn’t mean you shouldn’t get one
They sell several different case sizes to suit you.
Colour drains out the face when he says entry level.
Entry level is a subjective term. A monetary value was never attached to entry level
Stainless band 😂
Glad to see you contributing 👍🏼
1:10 the fuck is this
My way if not having someone attacking my AD saying why can’t I have a watch that fast.
The band is too tight on his wrist!!!
I wear my watches looser than most people. I assure you my bands aren’t too tight
@@41mmLuis From the looks of all the skin getting squeezed under the band, it sure doesn't look like it is loose at all. I wear my Rolex loose and it moves freely on my wrist and it doesn't bunch up the skin like it shows in this video.
Why did you not reveal the name of the AD ?
Tom why would I piss off my local AD? I have other watches I want to purchase
As soon as they hid the name of the AD, and who he got his watch from, I was done with the video. Here in lies the problem. The stupid Rolex secrecy. It's ridiculous.
I make the videos to give you the tools to get your watch locally. When you get the call are you going to fly across the US to pick your watch up in the 24 hour window?
Last minute flights and your personal time you might as well buy second hand at that point. This isn’t a video to walk in and get the watch. Nothing worth doing is easy.

3:44 "it's very easy if you know what you're looking at, to look at someone and say, that's who I wanna rob...." 🤣 unfortunately the truth nowadays
Bit of a stretch from noticing a watch to robbing people. Alright 👍🏼
It’s all in how people carry themselves.
There’s no such a waiting list. Stop lying to people 😂 Rolex reps are the ones that sell on the gray market
Do you have proof of this comment?
