I have a model just like it and have no problems. Many times when quilting, my bobbin ran out, but did not break the needle or cause any burrs. My machine is approximately 14 years old. Make sure to pay attention to when to oil it. Good luck and I know you will love it.
Wow Amanda, congrats with your new Brother Sewing Machine! Now you will be making your beautiful quilts in no time, and can't wait watching you sew on your new machine! Charlie is so sweet looking what you're doing through the window. Cheers
You will love this sewing machine. I have had my since November and absolutely love it! It is so fast and I love the throat space. Enjoy can't wait to see what you make with it.
It IS so exciting to get a new machine. I was smiling the whole video.....cuz I've been where you are. Congrats Amanda. Would love to hear more about the machine as you learn all the bells and whistles.
Congratulations on your new sewing machine. I am envious of the harp space. You will love it for bigger quilts. I have a thread cutter on my machine and it is my favorite thing about it!
Yay for a new machine! Yes, please do a review. I'm looking at a few semi industrial machines for my next machine. I've been using my Janome MC3500 for about 15 years now & feel like I've out grown it a little!
I see two things on your machine so far that I love. One is the thread cutter and the other is the knee controller (not sure what they are called), but I have used one and I loved it. Congratulations on your beautiful machine.
Have been using my PQ1500 for several years now. You won't be sorry. Perfect for piecing and FMQ. Have been able to create a queen sized bedspread with no problem. I figure the bedspread is probably equivalent to a king sized quilt.
Oh, thanQ for sharing your experience with this machine. I am looking to purchase a mid-arm for quilting, but have several models on my runway; you've nearly convinced me that this is my baby! :) I watched your (1 month) review video too. Again, thanQ!
Well done. I've a Brother and I love it... Remember to keep the box and packing in case it has to go back to brother for service etc.... it's on your info somewhere, but it's important...
Yay!! I'm so happy forvyou...I'm looking to buy me this machine too...great reviews and I need an upgrade and bigger throat to quilt my larger quilts!!! Itsvbeautiful!!!
I'm going to try and teach my mum how to use my old machine as she needs to do some 'mending'. Should be a right old laugh, she's hopeless with these kind of things!! :D
Oh, Amanda, how exciting! So happy for you! When you do a review would you tell us the difference of the throat opening from your old machine to the new? Have fun! 😃😃😃
Congratulations on your new beautiful machine. Have fun playing! Looking forward to your review after spending some time playing with your new baby. I love my knee lift, it comes in hand when quilting and you need to reposition your piece/quilt. Give Charlie lots of hugs! BJ
BJ7481 we ready Amanda. Come on girl give us some news n that georgeous machine. You have been showing so much more of your personality and I adore it. Hay days. Lol
Please do a review.. Amanda please please show how you thread it very close up. I find that threading and putting the bobbin in is the hardest. It's lovely. Happy days!
Amanda, I got the same machine about two weeks now. I love the way it sews so smooth. But, I cant figure out how to bring the bobbin thread up to sew. I hope you see this note, hope you can help do a slow video please. It is fast lol
I have this machine. Bought it last year with my bestfriend whom also bought one. We love it. Definitely a work horse. Our only issue is sometimes the needle thread comes loose. I have learned to start each seam holding the thread. Works. Anybody else have this machine?
Yes, I've had this happen quite a few times too. To remedy it, I always make sure my thread is trailing out either towards the back or to the left hand side of the foot.
Yes thank you. I've learned to leave a thread tail. Have you purchased any additional feet for this machine? What else does it do? Binder foot? I know I cant pintuck. Cannot use twin needle right?
Yay Amanda!! Congrats on the new machine! I’ve looked at getting this one too so a review would be awesome- also, when you Quilt on it, could you video a bit of that so I can see? Will you do free motion on it? 💜 Ann 😊
So happy for you! I was looking at the reviews of your new machine and I found an interesting review on this that I wanted to share. Be sure and don’t let the bobbin run out. The review said that when it did the needle broke and nicked the throat plate which created a burr on the plate. I love my Brother PC420 PRW. It’s my first computerized machine and it sews like a dream. Happy Sewing and yes would love for you to do a review. Thanks!
I have had this same machine for a couple of years now. I love it! The only issue I've had with it is skipped stitches. If anyone has a suggestion to help resolve this, I would appreciate your input
OMG .... you got a "Brother" !!! I'm so "jelly" lol... it is a thing of beauty !! Hope you have tons of fun with it! It is the brand I will buy when I am ready to upgrade... " )
Hello! Thanks for your comment - I always love reading and replying to them! I hope this video has helped you take a step closer towards buying this machine! It's a beauty!! :)
Yes, I highly recommend this machine! It just goes and goes without any issues or complications. The only thing I wish was different was knowing when the bobbin is close to finishing without pulling it out and checking. :)
NOOO!! I sell machines for a living, they were designed to be carried by the handle. Putting your arm through the throat of the machine can throw it out of time buy disrupting the arm.
Why the way.... did you recognized that why does it comes in brown box .? Instead of nice white shiny and colorful with a lot of pictures and instructions?
This is my machine! I LOVE IT. I have had it for about 7 months now and I am so pleased.
I have had my Brother PQ1500SL for a year now and I just LOVE 💗 it!
I have a model just like it and have no problems. Many times when quilting, my bobbin ran out, but did not break the needle or cause any burrs. My machine is approximately 14 years old. Make sure to pay attention to when to oil it. Good luck and I know you will love it.

Oh, Amanda, how exciting! So happy for you! When you do a review would you tell us the difference of the throat opening from your old machine to the new? Have fun! 😃😃😃

Yes, I've had this happen quite a few times too. To remedy it, I always make sure my thread is trailing out either towards the back or to the left hand side of the foot.
@@AmandaRolfe yes I have learned that and I have notice some commercial machines also have a longer start thread tail.
Yes thank you. I've learned to leave a thread tail. Have you purchased any additional feet for this machine? What else does it do? Binder foot? I know I cant pintuck. Cannot use twin needle right?
I'm so happy for you Dear Amanda 💕❤️💗♥️

Ooo, thanks for sharing that piece of info! I'll be sure to watch the bobbin like a hawk now so that that doesn't happen with mine!

I want to get this machine sooooo bad. 😢 Maybe the hubby will get it for me for Xmas 🎄🤞
Great machine
"That's some serious walking footage. It looks like an Evil Bug or something." 🤣😇
If they add zigzag to the next one it would be great so I could use overcasting foot then I would want one.
Amanda I want to go and buy the brother even thou that I live in Switzerland where the Bernina is born
Powerful machine great
I'm thinking about buying this machine. Do you still recommend it after using it for your quilting needs?
Yes, I highly recommend this machine! It just goes and goes without any issues or complications. The only thing I wish was different was knowing when the bobbin is close to finishing without pulling it out and checking. :)
@@AmandaRolfe I wonder when winding the bobbins if we could mark the thread with a bright colored marker if we could see it then, just a thought
It’s so nice!
