The brothers are what made the band, and all three of them left the biggest impact, even Dennis left a huge impact and honestly i think he deserves his own biopic. Their modern live shows are an actual travesty without Carls beautiful voice and denny’s fun to watch crazy unconventional drumming. Now it’s just creepy egomaniac mike, a supposedly dickish bruce johnston, and a miserable brian. At least Al is still keeping his shit together and helping brian but it’s sad.

The thing you see when you watch The Beach Boys live, even in their most shambolic eras, is they really took music seriously. Carl is the pro’s pro of the band, a truly excellent guitar player and uncommonly gifted singer who could take or leave the spotlight as the song required.

Their live performances are great and prove they were more than capable of playing those songs. Not even The Beatles would have been able to record Sgt Pepper if they hadn’t stopped touring.

The most chilling (in a good way) moment was when they came to the slow, sweet part in "Wouldn't It Be Nice" - "you know it seems the more we talk about about it" - a half a million people suddenly fell silent so they could listen closely to those sweet vocal harmonies. I was there, and that's the truth. It was like a miracle.
what a gorgeous man carl was! i saw them at this DC concert when i was 18 and wow i can still remember it like yesterday.. went with 2 friends and spent the whole day there for the concert.. incredible experience and i feel very privileged to have seen this group perform..will never forget it.. thank you beach boys!!
