    Kicking players like Adams in the nuts, curbstomping Sabonis' chest, putting Gobert in a sleeper, and now smacking Nurkic. Does Draymond seriously think he can just act this way now that he's got 4 rings or something....?

    Kerr should increase Moody, Kuminga and Saric's playing time. With Draymond gone, that gets easier but otherwise they should probably reduce Klay and Wiggins' minutes as well to make room. Wiggins has been terrible and Klay, though still capable of catching fire any given night, has been very inconsistent. Kerr should be willing to sit Klay sooner if he doesn't catch fire quickly.

    • @tormentor91
      @tormentor91 5 місяців тому +10

      I agree. Kerr needs to be way more flexible with who he plays, and the Suns game was an indicator that he might be willing to do that now. Put whoever on the court who's playing well, independently of how much money you pay them.

    • @PaulDenton14
      @PaulDenton14 5 місяців тому +5

      @@hoebertrabeck1621he is a generational defender who was a core piece of 4 championships, so of course Kerr would do everything to go bat for him. Pistons did it for Laimbeer, Bulls did it for Rodman, and hell Pop did it for Bruce Bowen who actually injured people. Grizzlies did it with Brooks until they got tired of early exits.
      the JP punch was too far and Kerr not suspending him games for it set a bad precedent at a time when margin for error was decreasing and we started 3-7 last year anyway. as we trend toward 2 difficult seasons in a row, he might be entering that Brooks zone where there isn’t enough success to justify the stress.
      he may have cost us 1 championship but he helped get us 4, problem now is he’s actively hindering success going forward through playing himself off the floor repeatedly when Steph is still Steph and we won a ring less than 2 years ago.

    • @asapmimic1289
      @asapmimic1289 5 місяців тому

      Wouldn’t he have to discover his scoring ability to rediscover it? He’s not averaging much higher than years past. Also a generational defender? Just because he’s a small big man who has enough speed to slow down guards and the strength to hold off bigs long enough doesn’t make him a generational defender. He doesn’t rank very high in blocks or steals. He’s only had 4 defensive team appearances. I mean come on. Again, just another example of warriors fans being stockholmed by draymond.

    It's almost as if Dreymond forgot that it was HIS antics that _directly_ allowed LeBron and Kyrie to pull off their historic comeback in the 2016 Finals. Not just with his literal defensive presence being missing from Game 5, but the clear mental impact in the Warriors in Game 6 and Game 7 where Curry and Klay arguably played the worst in their post-season careers, despite having led GSW to the only 73-9 record in NBA history.
    I say good riddance!
    He has a well-recorded history of reacting completely disproportionately or deliberately acting in an unneccesarily dangerous manner. His defense has decreased to the point that it no longer makes up for his other failings - and it hasn't done so for the last few seasons imo. He's *DONE.*

      I also don't see his podcast doing well has anything to do with being a narc. Paul George's does too.
      Not keeping composure in whatever, even aggressive does't make you a narcissist either. Most humans will have moments as this in their lives. Draymond has self control issues, but that's also not necessarily a narc trait.
      Also never heard or seen him say that he's as valuable as Curry. If he actually did you could point it out to me.
      And no Poole was already a severe net negative the entire year after they won the chip and even during the chip year, his clutch perfomances covered up the fact that the Warriors only flaw was mostly him. He was getting less minutes every series they got to.
      It was far from only Dray who was annoyed as well. Entire compilation of clips of Poole taking wild contested shots while Wiggins, Klay and EVEN STEPH were completely open next to him.

Anyway, he has zero doubt this is happening because Draymond isn't able to keep up with the game anymore and he's furious about it. Barkley 'knows' it because he experienced the same thing; he went on to talk about hitting a teammate in practice in Houston during his last two years, when he wasn't yet able to accept that he was just old and slow, so would get angry at players who were just outplaying him on the floor. It's just always helpful to hear the perspective of someone who had a very similar experience

    Rim protection is the biggest issue. They’re struggling to get in legal guarding position because they’re scrambling to stay in front of their man (also because they’re old and slow). Teams are also attacking downhill and looking to draw fouls. PG literally said it after the last Clippers game. It’s also causing the low man (usually Steph or CP because they are being hidden away from the PnR action up top) to help in the paint on drives and allow simple reads to open 3 point shooters in the corners.

    The small GSW has gotten smaller with Green's suspension. The reason he seems important to the Warriors is because they don't have any other big on their team. It's time for Coach Kerr to use Jackson-Davis and hope he develops into a good defender and rebounder right away. The question is, how much damage has been done to his self confidence for having so many DNPs-CD despite showing so much promise during the times he is given the opportunity to play.

    Kerr, Meyers and Lacob enabled Green for far too long after it was clear his antics yielded "diminishing returns" regarding the Dubs' dominance. Now after Silver went hard right on Morant over his off-court drama, he had no choice but to go harder on Green for his on-court jackassery. Hopefully this will humble Green enough to salvage his own career.

    i think the problem is warriors are still trying to recreate the same system with different pieces.
    They need to adjust their game with the new key pieces they have:
    with Klay, Steph, Draymond and CP3 getting older the adjustment will get wider unless the young players find their footing sooner than later.
    Or maybe they straight up don't have a rim protecting big man who can compete with the comeback of the bigs this season.

    perhaps not intentional, but it was reckless, and players get hurt by other players being reckless. i do think recklessness needs to be reduced, in the nba, and bball culture in general. for example when going for blocks on layups, why do they have to swing their arms down onto the offensive player? you can block a shot and just keep your arm extended instead of swinging down. also letting shooters land is a good example of a rule that was instituted to penalize that type of recklessness as well.

    There is also another aspect of this situation that no one seems to willingly discuss publicly.
    The Warriors are extremely frustrated! As the NBA, and all its associated talking heads, are in a high state of panic over the idea that the guy the want as the face of the NBA, may not have the best winning record, as it regards to Championships. In a panic that Steph Curry, who entered the league during Lebron’s Era, and has dominated him, with a winning record against him, 15-7 regular season record, and 3-1 Championship record. And to ensure there’re no doubts remaining, SWEPT him in the 2018 Championship series. Why is that SWEEP problematic? Because in modern-times, no face of the NBA was SWEPT twice in Championship series other than Lebron James. The NBA front office, using their referees, got into a bit of a panic when the Warriors made the playoff last year. The Refs called a game that created a historical record... where the Lakers shot 50 more free throws than the Warriors... NEVER, EVER in the history of basketball that has happened before. Everyone knows it, but all refused to discuss what would have been an impossible situation in the past.
    The NBA front office, using their referees, decided to work on the warriors early and over the entire season. Constantly calling fouls on them, and ignoring the same type of activity being performed on them by the opposing teams. The reaching around picks and grabbing Steph so he can’t get free, Pulling Looney Right-hand off the Rim when he attempted a dunk, Pushing Kuminga lower body when he drives to the Rim to get him off-balance, the 28 fouls committed by Zubac, as he set picks, using his knees to push into the thigh of the warrior players as they attempt to get past the pick (I counted 28 fouls of him, only one called for that).
    We’re all seeing it but are ok with it as it could keep the Warriors out of the playoffs and ensure Steph doesn’t win his 5th Ring before Lebron. However, we all can imagine how frustrated that teams must be, knowing the Refs are targeting them for fouls while ignoring the same type of fouls against them. Imagine play under those conditions, know if they complain, the NBA will quickly levy a huge fine on them. That must add to every Warrior’s level of frustration. And when you have a half-cocked guy, in Draymond, easily combustible, now totally frustrated, it’s no surprise to see him lose it on the floor. Zubac was grabbing onto his hips to keep him from setting going to set a pick, right in front of the Refs, and no calls. That had to surely ignite the combustible Draymond Green!
    And that’s the other aspect of this situation no one is willing to discuss publicly. But in their personal, private conversations, we hear that many of those talking heads acknowledges the disparity in fouls calls against the warriors. They all are aware that never has one team shot more than 50 free-throws than the other in the history of basketball. It’s ok with them because many of then has the same desire... prevent Steph from winning a fifth Championship before Lebron, while Lebron is still playing.

    Green is very close to a lifetime ban. And his indefinite suspension has just torpedoed GSW's chances for this year. Something is terribly wrong with the starters, GSW's usage of the bench, Kerr's coaching and Stephen Curry's leadership. The team isn't fired up, enthusiastic, committed to winning, locked in, or communicating well. Klay & Dray have been on again off again & Wiggs has shockingly not been mentally there except for once or twice. The new GM is not Myers & I wonder if his style is making for a lot of dissonance within the team.

    The warriors thought trading away poole would magically fix their issues. The main problem right now is that wiggin, klay and green have zero trade value. So Kerr might as well start playing the young guys more to prepare for the future.
    I have to say that i find the fouls that were shown as examples pretty weak but thats a general issue: driving players have max protection from the rules/refs.
