- One of my first jobs in retirement was to build myself a Greenhouse.
I chose a 12ft X 8ft Simplicity sun.

Great Video - Thank you. I 'm just in the process of building my 8ft by 8ft version of the same greenhouse. and you are absolutely right, the instructions do seem both overly complicate on occasion, but at the same time wholly inadequate when it comes to some of the finer details. I've got the majority of the glass installed now, all except the opening skylights who's instructions for fitting correctly are sparse to say the least!! Also having difficulty in hanging the door correctly - It keeps jumping off its rails top & bottom. It is stiff to open and makes a grating sound - and yes I have cleaned the runners. My point is, like the opening windows, there is precious little guidance supplied to assist on these issues. As you mentioned in your great video, with the benefit of hindsight, I can't stress enough how important it is to ensure that your base is level (yes, I had to go out an buy a load of window packers in an attempt to make it level and sadly I think this may well end up being the reason why the door is sticking. Also, do try and put your greenhouse up in the dry for two great reasons: 1. The glass is easier to handle. 2. The rubber H2O tape actually sticks to the metal frame! Thanks for your great video :)

We just got ours yesterday, concrete base was finished a couple of weeks ago. The instructions are so hard to follow I agree. Oh well here we go! Thanks for the video it's given us hope

Yes greenhouse is all ok. Since construction I’ve also installed a self watering system utilizing rainwater capture from its gutters and self powered by a small solar panel. Good luck with yours.

Could I ask how long does this take if I were to smash it out all day, it’s 10ft by 6ft halls greenhouse and foundations are all ready ?
It will be easier if you have a second pair of hands. Go for it. But don’t start the glazing unless you know you’ll get it finished. The last thing you want is a half glazed house and strong wind.
I’m just in the middle of building a greenhouse people greenhouse, the instructions are terrible! Do you have to put the foam seal along every vertical piece?

Hi Angela. I am assuming your referring to the glazing strips? Yes it needs to be added on all vertical sides.
Well I'm on with building a Gloucester 5ft x 8ft greenhouse from the Greenhouse People and seeing crucial errors in the building process described in the booklet. Ha well I have to say the instructions are really poor. They tried I'm sure but its just a messy jumble of pictures and diagrams and numbers and tables with only a few neat ideas on reresentation. Nice to have aluminium bolts and nuts but hey dont overtighten them....they shear easily. They also shear if you tighten them and then find you made a mistake and have to take them off...thats when they shear most often. The instruction guide is just very poorly laid out and you really need to play around with the bits to get it right. Obviously some parts click together very easily but very often the nut capture channel really needs the extra bolts sliding in for any other bits later that have to be added on later and then sticky tape used to hold them ready for the later fixing of that other part. Too pictorial and not enough text. They didnt like it when i rang them up and criticised the booklet. Now the pre-delivery booklet was absolutely brilliant and if you read it you are fully engaged and prepared for the product. However I cant fault the strength and quality of the actual greenhouse when its finally built. I recently built a Yardmaster 8 x 10 shed and the instructions were in a much easier format but still lacked detail at crucial points.
