In this video you'll discover the nootropics benefits of Zinc. Including why we use Zinc as a nootropic, recommended dosage, side effects, clinical research, and the best type of Zinc to buy. This is an update to the video I made on Zinc several years ago.
Zinc is a trace element that plays an essential role in overall human health and cognition.
Zinc is required for the catalytic activity of around 100 enzymes. It’s involved in immune response, protein synthesis, wound healing, DNA synthesis and cell division.
As a nootropic, adequate levels of zinc in your system work as an antioxidant fighting free radical damage. It helps maintain both male and female hormone balance. And zinc plays a role in neurotransmitter release affecting learning, memory and mood.
    Zinc deficiency symptoms include:
    • Brain fog
    • Cravings for salty or sweet foods
    • Eating disorders like bulimia or anorexia
    • Chronic fatigue syndrome
    • Hair loss
    • Irritable bowel syndrome
    • Impaired growth and sexual development (in kids)
    • Infertility & impotence - hypogonadism in males
    • Iron non-responsive anemia
    • Hormonal issues like bad PMS symptoms
    • Hyperactivity (as in ADHD)
    • Delayed wound healing
    • Impaired adrenal function resulting in anxiety and stress
    • Low immunity (you get colds and flu often)
    • Pica (eating dirt)
    • Poor concentration and memory
    • Skin disorders like acne
    • Taste and smell problems
    • Weight loss or gain

Thanks again. Yup, I used to take Zn 'sort of' prior to 2020. But, ever since then (and y'all know why), I NOW take Zn EVERY DAY.

Can completely confirm, regarding scientific content and personal experience, thank you for that well-done summary. I take 10mg effective dose as a supplement on top of macro-separated omnivore nutrition.
One small add on, maybe is indicated, which was not mentioned. Zinc is a powerful anti-microbial agent, fighting bad bacteria and fungi in the stomach and guts, thus helping to establish a good microbiome

Do you believe that a lot of the symptoms you gave on zinc deficiency are more of a copper toxicity instead of a zinc deficiency since these minerals are antagonists and generally when a person is zinc deficient they are copper toxic?

    • @NootropicsExpert
      @NootropicsExpert  5 днів тому

Not the way it works. They are not antagonists of each other. This study explains how zinc affects copper absorption: pulse.ly/n4mxdyyyo4
